The best restaurants in South Kesteven East Midlands

Nice quirky place. Food was absolutely lovely. Presented well and portions were perfect. Coffees and drinks were nice with a tiny biscuit. A good touch. Service: this is where things got a bit sloppy. I was waiting at the bar to be served what seems like forever as the bartender lady just wouldn’t make eye contact. Faffing about with things beneath the desk. This is fine but just acknowledge the customer and say ‘be with you in a few moments’. The lady who served me the coffee was clearly afraid of small dogs. Her face was red and annoyed. Zero the contact and zero personality. I can’t help but feel like me and my small dog were a burden. Service with a smile doesn’t hurt. Whilst the food and location and parking and flavours were perfect, I’m not sure I’d want to go back. I didn’t like whole whole rush rush feel around me, even though I was sat in the corner eating.

Shame used to be the go to pub for food in the area. Thought I’d try it again as very local but so very different poor food quality, we had four different lunch choices all were terrible. Meat was tough, mac cheese bland, I could go on. I was offered a slight discount but didnt feel it was a genuine offer my advice would be give this place a miss

Ordered for collection, ready in 15 mins, meal for 5 of us. Great service and value. We had: Chicken with cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce, yummy Szechwan chicken, very nice Chicken curry, tasty Lemon chicken, lots of sauce Beef in Black Bean sauce, my favourite Singapore Chow Mein, fiery Sweet & Sour pork Cantonese style Large egg fried rice Singapore fried rice Chips Prawn crackers, FOC. All food was superb, see picture. We ate almost all of it, just a mid sized portion left for Sunday breakfast 😁 All in £58 Defo recommend.

Parfait, produits frais et du goût avec le rajout de menthe fraîche. Très copieux, prix très abordable. Très bon accueil.

A friend living locally took me to get some food during lunch. Went with high hopes based on the recommendation. Worst chicken donors we have ever had, to say the least. It was so salty and tasteless. Portions were generous but the taste was terrible. Lucky we have asked plenty of salad, if not we would have thrown everything out in the bin. Place looked clean. But guys don't use gloves for preparing the pitta bread. Please note, it's cash only

Lovely wine bar with large selection of wines and gins. Great garden area but also cosy inside. Small but great atmosphere.

Great place to eat food and service very good. Dogs welcome. We visited Saturday & Sunday lunchtime both food menus were very good.

No food available when we were there,sadly this place was getting ready to permanently close.

Well I must say what a disappointment I’ve always raved about the belly pork here and I loved it that much, I wouldn’t have anything else when I visited, not been for a while but looking forward to my memories of it. Noticed it had gone up in price for a lot less, couple of different things added ie black pudding which I don’t like so didn’t ask for it. It arrived nothing like it used to be, half the thickness of pork and soggy crackling what happened there ? It should be crunchy crackling like it used to be, small amount of slice potato tiny amount of cabbage. I was waiting for the generous portion of veg and homemade chips that used to accompany the meal obviously don’t get them anymore ? Such a shame! One positive the young lady who served us was very nice I think had just started working there. Left embarrassed after telling my friend how good it used to be .

Nice little old style village pub serving a nice selection of beers,ales,wines and spirits. Great friendly service. Outdoor seating in the car park area and a beer garden at the end of the car park.

Constantly hit and miss, mostly incompetent staff. Be sure to use this establishment when the owners are on site EDIT- Change of rating. Food is good, but staff are absolutely diabolical. Will not return.

Best chippy I've been to. Sorry don't know individuals names that work there but they are all so lovely, very polite and helpful. Highly recommend..
