The best restaurants in Kettering East Midlands

Having been year on many occasions and always enjoyed the afternoon tea we returned for my daughter-in-laws birthday. The standard has dropped but the price has increased considerably. We had 3 afternoon teas. They no longer serve Assam tea - just English breakfast. No Macarons- my favourite and the tiny cakes and pastries had very little flavour. The cakes and pasties used to be exquisite! We treated ourselves to a cocktail each. When it came to paying the bill, VAT and a service charge were added (we were not given a choice of an OPTIONAL service charge) this took our bill to £190 for 3 average afternoon teas and 3 cocktails!! Needless to say I will not return

Ordered today food arrived piping hot and was really nice dropped off by a polite delivery driver.

Food was tasteless, slimy seemed to be reheated. Didn't agree with me either only ate some couldn't stomach the remaining. Ordered food on Saturday 26 Aug.

Ordered via the QR code. Waited half an hour and we hadn't even received drinks. Spoke to a member of staff who told us the order hadn't come through on their end even though I'd received a confirmation email and paymenthad gont through. Then waited a further half hour for the food. Not even an apology for the wait. Not impressed.

Burgers were both pink in the middle.

I really can’t fault the place. Good beer, food, staff and decor. We had whitebait and prawn cocktail followed by the roast beef, everything on the plate was excellent and at very reasonable prices. Steve

Arrived 15 minutes before closing today to be told kebab wouldn’t be available for 15 minutes and that it would be too late as they were closing, guy then asked me to step to the side just for a minute so he could serve a different customer. After he’d served that customer he just said “now I have to make this customers burger so won’t have time to make your food”. Shocking service.

Recently my wife and I, visited, i ordered the small fish and chips, as the name implies ,I didn't expect it to fill the plate, but what I got shocked me, the cod in batter was a tiny strip no larger than a fish finger, when I commented on this I received a sorry about that with a smirk, frankly it was insulting being served this miniscule piece of fish ,pathetic TBH one star rating

This used to be the best burger place in all of Kettering, however since the change of ownership, the place has gone downhill.

Enjoyed a very pleasant evening meal with all our close family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The bar staff were very polite and welcoming, and we have to say the food was absolutely fantastic. Asked the bar staff to congratulate the chef. We will certainly visit again.

Tried this takeaway for the first time last night. Delivery took 1hr 40mins to arrive. I have to honestly say that it was the worse Chinese I have ever tasted. The only good thing about it was it was hot! The rice was shining it was that greasy, everything was bland. Disappointed!
