Disappointed. The whole restaurant is shabby, dirty and needs a thorough clean. Premier Inn next door though is good.

Visited today on a packed Mother's day breakfast, the staff were working so hard, it was clean,the food was constantly restocked. Everyone had a smile on their face. Excellent value for money. Thanks for everything, special mention to Elise, Louise, Kriste and Martine you are a great team.

Save your pennies and look for something else somewhere else?. Dirty dishes, seriously lacking any real standard of food presentation. Breakfast was the usual but worse than average. Service was below minimal expectations at best.

Very friendly staff. Popped in for lunch with my grandad before his hospital appointment and the lady server Elise was very friendly and was very attentive bless her. The man at the carvery called Adam (I think) was very pleasant. Helped my grandad with his portion size. Lovely friendly staff and the food was decent.

We were served by a member called Chris, he was friendly polite and met all needs, definitely recommend, very kid friendly too I have to travel abit further put has became my go to place with the kids

Was quite busy but seen staff wandering around not serving behind bar area. Toilets smelt.barely any toilet roll and dirty toilet and a broken toilet seat.. Food was good though. Atmosphere was ok too staff friendly.

Cold food rude staff would not recommend

Had breakfast here after staying at the premier inn next door. Some food looked like it had been sat for too long but other items were fresh. Place was busy and all staff doing a good job of seating people and replenishing food and drink

Very busy, not enough staff to serve at counter and long queues at bar long wait to be served. Staff very hard working and trying their best to cope. We had a very relaxed evening where the staff were very good but very very busy. Particular praise for Gail who was cheerful and professional during a very busy evening service.

Had roast dinner last Subday. Best roast I've had in ages, the meat, veg and potatoes were delicious, will def be going back.

Easy to find and park. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Good portion sizes and food never disappoints.

Cold pub, cold food small portions, disgusting toilets, ate at 5 pm dirty plates still on table when we left at 7 pm.

My father-in-law's wake was hosted here. The food was amazing especially the sandwich selection. The staff were very kind and understanding and were quick to help if anything was needed.

Omfg! This food or drink has made me sooooooo ill!! Jeeeeeze! The staff really were lovely but..... Oh boy,, the food,,, !! omg i was so ill after eating here this evening! I hadnt eaten anything else since morning so it must b something i ate here, i mean i do remember my fingers stickin to the table when i went to get up n thinking ewl yuckie! I had coke with ice, the battered mushrooms with sour cream dip, garlic bread with cheese n the steak n ale pie mash peas n gravy. I did think the sour cream dip didnt look right, really runny round the edges so stopped when i noticed that, pie mash n peas didnt look right either, not fresh, the pie deffo wasnt fresh i could only eat the inside as the pastry was rock hard stale, so couldnt even attempt to eat that, but yeah wow! I was running for the loo by tine i left circa 7pm, well its 8.30pm now n im still on the kazi! Something has messed up my tum right up! Oh dear! Sorry its a bad review, i was gonna eat here this week, i wont now, ill have to go trading post or into town which is a real shame as this place could be soo good. Wont go back now, damage us done innit? Once u loose that trust in what ur being served its gone then! Im gonna mk some ginger tea if i ever manage to get off this loo seat! Hopefully that might help settle this nightmare!

Veggy carvery dreadful! Veggies fab as always but the meat alternative was a piece of cardboard😟 small, tasteless and very unappetising.

The service is very friendly and the drinks are good.

Lovely place for the kids to unwind while the adults catch up. Christine and Louise are fantastic.

Food pub food cheap and you get what you pay for it's better than cooking all the time, for a little treat now and again, staff are amazing here, all are really helpful, couldnt do enough for you, thankyou to all, you do a great job 😁

It has taken me this long to calm down to give s fair review . We ate here Christmas Day 2024 having eaten here the previous Christmas and the food was very good however this year was the reverse ! On arriving we were served our starters the Pate apparently was good but myself and my husband had the Prawn cocktail, my husband ate his said he was hungry mine was not good for some reason I had a glass of very poor lettuce and a couple of prawns with no sauce on them ! Why had they run out ? We were eating at 4pm but surely they knew the amount of guests that were booked in ? Next the main meal all the veg were cold but I have to say the Roast beef was excellent on the other hand my husband who only eats Turkey had 2 very small slices and that’s all he ate because he doesn’t like cold veg , I put gravy on mine in the vain hope it would warm them up . I overheard a Chef say we still have 12 more for main meal and referred the Turkey might not be enough , hence very small portions . Then my pudding I opted for the fruit crumble it was a runny red concoction with some ice cream and I ate it because I felt hungry . The icing on the cake though my son went to use the toilet and someone had vomited in one of the sinks ! It was there for the entire visit plus no toilet roll in the ladies toilet and only one of those working !!! So overall a bad experience an entire was of hard earn money and we will choose another pub more carefully this year .

This place needs sorting out it is very dirty. Food cold rude staff said nobody else have complained. I feel enviromental health and food safety should be addressed. SHOCKING 😲 😯 😮 🫨 🫢

Really good value for money good experience

Reasonable quality food at a decent price, highly rate the all you can eat breakfast, staff are friendly.

Food was very nice and service was quite quick. But the staff seemed hurried and not very motivated.

I turned up impromptu for a little play area for my son to use. What I met with was disgusting. There was dirt, grime and dust covering pretty much every inch of the play area. I am appalled that the staff there would let the area get in such a bad state after they were only inspected in July?! It is in my honest opinion that they mustn’t have touched it since! DO NOT take your child there unless you want them to come home dirty or with some illness! Appalled by what we saw today.

Convenient location just off the motorway and near Kettering hospital with the town five minutes away in the car. Plenty of parking but you must register your car. Hotel next door. Very large restaurant and bar with pool table. Better to have as a bar because the extensive food menu and a Christmas menu but nothing available. There was a very limited menu on a white sheet of paper. Impossible for vegetarians. There is an unlimited hot drinks machine but again few options as things had run out and couldn't have hot chocolate. We won't go again. We didn't stay but went to Wetherspoons in Kettering. You can easily park for free in the back streets and walk in. Very friendly large pub on two floors with cheap and available tasty food and drink. The unlimited hot drink machine was working, again much cheaper and there's books upstairs, which is more the restaurant and might be quieter during busy times.

This was my first time having lunch out on Christmas Day. We were 7 adults and 2 children, at £55 per head for adults, for 3 courses. Our booking was for 12.45. The rest of family arrived on time and let them know I'd be a few minutes late. From the minute they arrived though the starters were pushed, pushed, pushed. And on the table by 12.48. They barely had time to get their coats off or order a drink and felt very much under pressure from the staff. Within 2minutes of finishing the starters we were told to go up to queue for the main course. No time to let the food settle. As it happened we had LOTS of time as we queued for the mains for about 15 minutes. The queue was snaking round the restaurant and some older family members had to leave their place and go and sit down. Why one table at a time wasn't invited up I don't know. During the time in the queue we were treated to hearing every comment the staff made whilst they were hurrying around us, including one comment about an older customer who felt unwell and wanted to change their desert; staff member 1 in a very unhappy huffing tone of voice "he wants to change his f***** dessert". staff member 2 "oh ffs". Nice!! When we eventually did get served the chef was very friendly and didn't scrimp on the meat and we were allowed to have as much of the other dishes as we liked, and that food was tasty so ok from that side. Again when we had finished our mains though it was whisked away very quickly. So much so that the waitress dropped a load of cutlery. She said "that wasn't me" so we asked a family member if he had done it. When he said now she said "Ok it was me but don't tell my manager". No apology or acknowledgment that my niece now had cheese sauce all down her leg and my nephew had gravy down his trouser leg aswell, even though we made that very clear and asked for extra napkins to clean it up. When we finished our desserts staff kept coming to the table to ask if we were done. It was clear from the start they wanted us in, sat down and out asap so they could turn the table. Regarding the atmosphere: couldn't have been less Christmassy with pop music playing (why no christmas music). The starters were disappointing: some of us had "cheese fondue" which was basically a bowl of cheese sauce with nothing to dip in it (I suspect the same sauce doubled up and used for the cauliflower cheese). My soup was thin and lukewarm. And the people that ordered the 'berry crumble' couldn't eat it because there was a few bits of non crispy crumbs on the top and then just a bowl of runny fruit. I had avoided paying to have christmas lunch out in the past because of the cost. And this has put me off doing that ever again. In fact i'm so disappointed by the service and the food that I wouldn't return to this pub again on principle. Need to do better!!

At all costs do not eat there 45 minute wait for burger and chips it seamed to put them out because I had ordered a dessert breakfast was rubbish as well luke warm

Food was luke warm, Brussels sprouts looked like they’d sat there for hours - all dried up ! Place was not busy so no atmosphere. Would not go again!

Thought I'd give this place another chance in the hope that it couldn't possibly be as bad as the last time we came. Sadly, somehow it was even worse. We met with friends with kids because there is a small soft play area. As usual, the soft play area was dirty and full of litter. We went for breakfast and the sausages were grey, one of the fried eggs had a hair in it, the mushrooms tasted off somehow even though they probably came out of a tin. The staff had a bad attitude and told us we had to leave at 12pm because the lunchtime customers were going to be arriving shortly. When we did leave, the place was completely empty apart from one family looking for a table. As we were leaving I felt like I should ask them if they were hoping to have a nice time, because if they were I wanted to advise them to go elsewhere. Also, following our dismal experience in this dirty hovel, we went to the toilet to wash our hands and once again the staff hadn't been bothered to replace the soap, so had to wait until I got home to have clean hands. In summary, I will never attend here ever again nor will any of my friends or family. The only thing you could do to improve this place would be to demolish it and rebuild again from scratch. I don't like to leave bad reviews unless somewhere really disappoints, but this place really is that bad!!!

Dined on Boxing Day and the place was not busy. The food was poor and cold. For a professional food establishment they need to replace the chef as his presentation standards are well below par.

I pre booked for a party of 15 on 20.12.2024. Despite circumstances beyond the companies control the service and food was absolutely excellent. Staff were attentative and accommodating....provide extra starters at short notice. The food was hot and very generous portion sizes....as well as attractively presented. Staff could not do enough for us......we will definitely book for next year.....well done everyone 🥰🥰

Went for breakfast this morning and told that if we didn’t have a booking meaning that we could not eat here I then went outside and made a reservation online we then proceeded to go back inside only to be greeted by the same obnoxious women and we then told her that we had made a reservation she the told us that we cannot do that all reservation have to be made 24 hours in advance and that the computer system doesn’t know what’s written on the signs So if this the case why was I allowed to book a reservation for breakfast the staff member that spoke to us was very rude and obnoxious the place wasn’t exactly busy so they could of easily sat us down to eat very disappointed at this establishment what was meant to have been the good start of our trip today was rudely made a rubbish one won’t be going there anytime soon AVOID AVOID AVOID

Seriously, the manager can really work on their attitude, very rude. After making a reservation the day before, then arriving this morning to be told they can only serve people that stayed in the Premier inn. This is due to supply issues. Right, I appreciate things happening out of our control, and you try and make the best of it. But seriously, being in a managerial position does not give you the right to speak to people any way you want. Come on, if you don't want the job, give it to someone who actually will. The most un professional manager I have come across in years. Good luck keeping up with this path you are going down.

After booking a table for this evening, I received an email advising of a limited menu due to supplier issues. After discussing with SWMBO, we decided to 'give it a go' and if necessary, go elsewhere. On arrival, we were again informed of the problem and handed a revised menu. Seeing what was on offer we decided to go ahead and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The team at the Telford Lodge are working hard to deliver a first class service despite adversity beyond their control, and in our honest opinion, they are doing a superb job. Thank you!

Good food and atmosphere, reasonably priced

Went here 3.12 2024. For a birthday meal?? Well was welcomed by 2 members of staff, who informed us that we could not eat as limited food for hotel guests only , what a joke supposed to be a place to for the public to eat, guess not ,, absolutely disgusting, would not recommend to anyone, even if they wanted somewhere to stay , limited menu ,,,, JOKE

Rude member of staff, after booking a table for breakfast at 10am we were reminded as soon as we arrived that the breakfast service will soon be finishing before we'd even been seated, after most of us eating the same member of staff was over trying to clear the table although some people hadn't finished and some breakfast items were taken. Felt very rushed unfortunately. Although the food was very nice 👌

Good Sunday Carvery. Vegetables could have been hotter.

We visited this afternoon for a birthday lunch. All staff (Jen, Louise and Anna) were extremely friendly and very attentive. We had brought in a cake which they lit and brought to the table and made our son feel very special. The food was served quickly and was delicious. Great job guys 😊

We really enjoyed our breakfast at Telford Lodge. We had the unlimited cooked breakfast, which includes unlimited continental breakfast and unlimited drinks. The hot food on offer was good quality and there was a nice selection which was replenished regularly. There were more options available detailed on the menu, such as poached/scrambled eggs, which you could ask a staff member to make specially for you. The continental offering was very good and included items such as Croissants, pan au chocolat, crumpets, pancakes, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts, cereals and more. Overall, we were surprised by how good the quality of the food was and the variety on offer for £10.99 was exceptional.

Steak was over cooked and dry prawn cocktail had 6 prawns kids meal corn was small end but hardly any corn on had to wait 40 minutes for pudding very disappointed didn’t even have the right glasses for drinks very poor service and poor food very disappointed would avoid going there

Me and my family been there for my birthday lunch. I ordered steak which seems to be not fresh. Been told to the waiter. Waiter told as that can’t be true because they have high standards kitchen. As the result I’m sick al evening. Been there for the first and the last time. Thanks for destroying my birthday.

Stopped gor breakfast on the way to the NEC Classic Car Show. Staff member welcomed us straight away and explained the breakfast deal and took our orders. Food was hot, tasty and plentiful.

There seems to be favouritism when it comes to meat portions some get several thick slices some get wafer thin slices barely enough to fill a sandwich and there’s no care in the cooking I don’t eat here anymore I rather travel to Hampton to get a decent portion of well cooked meat

Service was slow , and the food was OK . Had to wait nearly half an hour for desert.

Hayden made me feel so welcomed as it was my first time in Kettering I was anxious about visiting however on my first visit he made me feel like a local (like I’ve been coming here for the last decade). Always a bubbly character and provides great customer service. If I was his manager I’d certainly put him on a higher salary goes above and beyond for his customers.

Food is pretty hit and miss, either in how it's cooked or items just not being available, staff are friendly and service is good but they need to update there times, was staying at premier inn for work and there is really nothing else near by and got caught out thinking was open later due to times displayed.

I was served by Meah, who despite being quite robotic to start with, turned out to be an excellent hostess who bought energy and vibrancy to the evening. Ellise and Ellie were great also and I look forward to visiting here again in a couple of months. All 3 are an asset to the Whitbread family who perfectly blended a professional approach with their own personalities. 5 stars.

Lovely choice of English breakfast, continental breakfast and fruit/cereals with orange/apple juice or teas and coffee. Place was bright, clean and staff were very friendly we had a lovely time

4 of us for breakfast on 8/8/24 arrived at 10 am food was appalling everything was cold if I wanted a cold breakfast I would of had a continental only thing hot was the toast never again

I didn't have food I just went in for drinks. It needs more staff and better facilities but if you want cheap and cheerful then this is the place.

Went for 2 Sunday roasts plus chicken and ham pie.Pie was tasteless Sunday roast average no mint sauce etc only gravy.I left a fair bit of mine asked for box to take home for our dog( yorkshire and meat, veg (unfortunately we don't do them??)Then we ordered 1 dessert ,1 cocktail.Cocktail looked like ordinary drink with ice no frills for 6.50 expected at least a bit of fruit .Not even in a proper glass.Now the cheesecake was something else....unedible!!! Thick dense and cloggy no taste.All in all don't think we'll go there again

I popped in alone for something to eat around 5.25pm, it wasnt busy so it was a nice and quiet atmosphere. You have to wait to be seated usually however as I was dining for one so the gentleman greeter said I can find anywhere I would like to sit and order at the bar whenever I am ready. He also asked if I have any allergies. I found myself a seat and then looked at the menu, they have a good range of different dishes and drinks on offer, I went to the bar and was served by a woman who had a lovely smile and was very polite and friendly. I ordered a margarita pizza and a glass of archers. The pizza was delicious and a good sized portion. Overall great service, lovely atmosphere and food was satisfactory. Highly recommend visiting here.

The attitude of the staff was appalling and we had to wait 30 minutes for a meal in the restaurant. It was poor quality and we had a bad experience. Will not be going back because my visit was a disaster 🙃

Ate here twice while staying at Premier inn. Cheap and cheerful food. Chicken goujons, nachos and lasagne were very good. Staff were friendly however service seemed a bit chaotic.

Table booked for 12 people on a Sunday. Carvery wasn’t on. Limited food in the kitchen. So half the orders weren’t available. No one felt the need to inform us prior to booking. Poor atmosphere. Relocated to Kino Lounge and had a great meal. We won’t be back to the Telford. 0/5 if I could give it zero.

Short stay, but an excellent pub

Food and drink very good and food and dessert service very quick.

Food was good n value for money staff were equally as pleasant atmosphere was only good if you brought it with you but that's the same as anywhere I suppose.

Monday 12.05. Asked for fish pie which was the reason we were there,[it was recommended.] was told we do not have that haven't had that for several weeks [ it's still on the online and table menu] Asked for haddock and chips, reply I don't know if we have that I'll go and see. Yes we can manage that. Service quick. The chips were skin on [no choice] they were not good, the fish also skin on very thin the batter was ok. the peas ok. My friend ordered pie chips and peas. The pie was quite good the chips were not, the peas ok. The plate was only two thirds full of food it was lacking something else. Asked for gravy "sorry we don't serve gravy with that dish" Coca Cola £3.05 or £3.50 for unlimited. Musak screeching at times. Staff did their best but were limited by the menu. We will not be back.
