Nice pub but as with any wetherspoons would it kill them to get a music license??

Recently started using The Earl again after experiencing a dingy pub with no atmosphere and rough clientele but now it is being run by a group of fantastic girls and what a turn around they have made such a difference and they should be so proud

Started out OK... but a very rude 'supervisor' used the words... 'WERE CLOSED NOW SO YOU NEED TO GET OUT' Yound lad maybe 20... appalling customer service

Went for breakfast good food and reasonably priced 😁

First time here and really enjoyed it here. Nice to see one of the chain that do not send out the poppadoms plastered with oil. Beer good as well.

Significant improvement over my previous review. They stepped it up this weekend. Same management as last time

Good value,cheap drinks and food yet good quality..town centre,so handy.. so great if your thirsty or hungry or just want to have a quick drink with friends after work.

Always love going to the Earl of Dalkeith for a drink and a bite to eat. Everything is reasonably priced, and there is nearly always an offer on. Food is always perfectly warm and tastes great.

Can't fault it. Came in here to read (which is perfect upstairs), had a burger and just a Pepsi. Fast service, great atmosphere and generally the interior looks great.

Great social place, cheap drink & also food although we didn't eat

If you like a hard, burnt burger in a bun with soggy chips, this is the place for you, it was inedible, sent it back and had a dessert instead!, member of staff was very apologetic though.

Its showing its age now. Could do with a makeover but probably never going to happen. Needed Wellington boots as the toilet floor was completely flooded

Dreadful pub, rude and incompetent staff, awful food, poor service, bad all round. Staff are rather blinkered and they seem content to bar people at will.

Quite a wait to be served due to only one serving for 15 minutes. Pleasant service from the busy staff. Some interesting pictures on the wall. Nicely decorated and clean throughout.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. They assisted us in warming my friend's daughter's milk.

A very messy and dated weatherspoons

It's a 'spoons so ifcyou' ve been to one you've been them all. Mixed grill was good but steak was medium not rare as ordered.

Went there for the first time in over 20 years, was pleasantly surprised, 3 breakfast's & 3 hot drinks for under £20. Will definitely not wait as long next time before revisiting.

This is a nice pub, the staff are excellent and really friendly, Danny was brilliant and I was impressed with his help and quality of service.. the pub perhaps could use a refresh as some aspects are a little dated. Overall it’s a good pub and I’m happy to recommend this place for both food and drinks…

To many chairs and tables in the way of getting upstairs to the toilets really need to remove them

Very good, everything is excellent and the price is very cheaper than other pubs.

We called in for lunch midweek on curry day and were pleasently surprised. for under £10 each we had a curry, rice, nan with poppadums and a drink, the food was acceptable. Recently refurbished furniture and a reasonably busy customer base made for a nice atmosphere.

Had a mixed grill, normally love a mixed grill from weaterspoons, but on this occasion, the pork and gammon were not nice at all and we got a handful of chips, probablythe cheapest thing to make and buy and had about 20. Big letdown

My favourite pub to visit, great atmosphere, staff are friendly, service can be hit and miss at times, but doesn't put me off.

OK it's a spoons. Below par service but most of riff raff are asleep outside on the streets so pub is OK inside

Sat in the garden with a refillable drink and my friend had a jacket potato which was well filled with plenty of salad.

We visited the Wetherspoons here at Kettering, and it's an attractive two-floor pub with all the ingredients for being a decent place, but it falls short for me. We walked upstairs, and there were many filthy tables and leftover glasses from the previous customers, which for a pub is to be expected; however, it became clear there were staffing issues. We made our order through the mobile app, which meant we could type in our table number and then choose what we wanted and have the option of either Google or Apple Pay or a card. Once we went through that process, our receipt was automatically emailed to us, which was very convenient. The one criticism I have with the app is that you cannot view your previous orders unless you check your emails, which is frustrating. I decided to have the American cheeseburger with a small portion of chips and a side of scampi with Pepsi Max. We waited about twenty minutes for our food to arrive, and it wasn't until we were finished eating that our drinks finally got served. We could see the staff were very stressed, and it's not their fault because there were a lot of customers here today on Monday, and I could only spot two servers. When the food arrived, the scampi and chips were excellent; however, the burger lacked flavour. It was pretty dry and unpleasant, but because I was out all day, I was hungry; an American burger should be filled to the brim with sauce, and it was barely noticeable. Upstairs, there is the book swap shelf, which I thought was a nice touch, ranging from ancient books to recent bestsellers, offering a wide range to customers. With this being adjacent to the bus station in Kettering, there are many easy ways to reach this pub, with a zebra crossing directly outside.

The same also was true with table cleaning, with loads of empty glasses and dirty tables, certainly in the area surrounding the bar. However, get through that and the rest of the experience was fine. Food service was quick with items well presented and hot, the serving staff were really friendly and chatty, plus there was a general good atmosphere around the place. For a casual drink or bite to eat I’d happily return, but with some extra attention it could be a great pub in the town.

Get what you expect from a wetherspoons, okay food for an okay price. Atmosphere is made by the people you're with more than the venue as with most spoons

Called in today due to poor selection of guest ales in Wellingborough(2) same 2 as 24 hrs previous. Tried 2 of the 3 guest ales ,good quality,matched with good service. PS All the carpets are in the process of being replaced(half of downstairs done) this is being done overnight and stools and chairs being recovered.

This was my first time going here and will probably be my last, as was kicked out after not even being there 30 minutes, it was said we were vaping but we weren’t (just to clarify I DONT VAPE), then was forced by one of the bouncers to finish my large pitcher in two minutes with them at my shoulder, I suffer from anxiety and have a heart condition so this was not an ideal situation for me to be in. In the end I had just left without finishing the drink I had paid for, so I am thoroughly disappointed with my first experience here. I’ve been to many spoons around the country and this was the first I’ve been treated like this.

Good experience, Food was well prepared and arrived nice and hot. Great value two of us had a hot.meal including unlimited coffee for just £13! Alcoholic drinks are also great value.

Great location, lovely building, top notch selection of beers etc with always something new to try, friendly and helpful staff. Food can be hit and miss depending on time of day and day of week, often served nearly cold, especially things like peas beans and rice. Otherwise great.

Food was good, not much interaction with staff but what we had was good. Tables were a little grubby and some nasty woman didn't wash her hands after using the loo, don't be this woman please :)

I was surprised how quiet it was. I thought it was an attractive 2 floor pub, the upper floor being especially pleasant. I ordered a coffee whilst waiting for my father and could not believe it when I was charged 99p for a 'bottomless' cup. When we ordered we got another incredible surprise - 2 all day brunches and 2 pints of ale for £11.98. I accept that the food was never going to win any culinary awards but for the money I thought it was superb value. I cannot understand why it was so quiet. Visit was at 2pm on a Wednesday.

The atmosphere on the second floor is very lovely. I felt that the portion of the food was slightly small, but it was delicious. The waiter who took our order was very kind. I would like to go there again!!

This was the first time we visited this particular Wetherspoons , and it won't be the last. The staff were pleasant and helpful especially Danny and Aimee.We had an afternoon deal of fish and chips with a soft drink, very reasonable. All in all a good place to go.

Partner had Steak it was flat as a pancake! No way it was a 8oz sirloin! I had a mixed grill and my plate was absolutely swimming with what I thought was water from peas! But tried to mop it up with a napkin and turns out it was grease! Absolutely shocking and waste of £40!

Very annoying that we were turned down breakfast after waiting in the queue for a few mins as only one member of staff was serving and then when we ordered the time was 12:03 and was told we can’t have breakfast!! Won’t be returning for sure!

Just I drink Riddles best. Because I have a belly problem, drinking lager upsets it. Why the bar staff pull faces and say thing under there breath. Go to any other spoons. There no problem.

Very good food, unlimited coffee. Popped in for breakfast early during the week. There were a few people in there mostly also ordering breakfast. Coffee machine was good and able to go up and help yourself. Staff were very friendly and almost no wait for service.

ive never had a problem before. came in for food thought ild try it, got the order completely wrong. asked for the cold chicken wrap but didnt want the sweet chilli sauce in. it came with the sauce in and they missed out the chips. then the menu states it comes with a drink at a set price.. got charged for the drink twice, also asked for medium rare steak, was well done. really disappointing

They have Corona on draught which is my favourite lager, so extra star for that. Food was the same as every other weatherspoons pub, but I enjoyed the mixed grill. It was hot and tasted good. Service was efficient and friendly.

I had an early evening meal here which, after ordering, was served in good time. It was hot and tasty and served with a crisp salad. The staff member who served us was polite and friendly when she returned to check whether all was well with the food. Very nice and good value for money. Thank you.

Food was served cold on the second day I went in for breakfast i was a bit disappointed

Very friendly staff I had 3 pints of real ale and all of them was top notch worth a visit.

Good food and very good value but very slow service today.

Terrible. We were left for 30 minutes after ordering, asked a waitress who told me there was a 30 minute wait. Got to 45 minutes, got told they were plating it up. Further 10 mins to actually bring the food out. Waiter didn't bring cutlery so I requested some. The same waiter went past us twice empty handed, and served other tables with cutlery. We had to wait another 10 minutes for cutlery. Then again, what else do you expect from wetherspoons?

I'm my opinion it is struggling. The last time I was there we had to cancel our breakfast as it never turned up and I had to catch a train. I've just been in again and the one young lady behing the bar was struggling.

Normally a good place to go but today it was dreadful. After ordering food then waited over 40 mins for it to arrive. After asking at the bar when it was coming they had no clue so eventually gave a partial refund.

Really friendly staff and customers. Enjoyable visit always. Only concerned with the fact that on line services are pushing in line with people waiting patiently at the bar for service. I.e. 6 people at the bar, 1 online order gets attention immediately from a customer sitting 10 metre away. No food included in the online order just alcohol.

Good food, large menu, massive drinks range with many low prices

I have no idea what this used to be but it makes for a very interesting pub. On two levels, really nice layout but could be cleaner. The bar staff were OK and obviously tge prices are cheap. However, a real ale like Abbott must be kept properly and this wasn't. Cheap but poor. One meal was OK the other poor. Very soggy toast which must have been prepared some time earlier, eggs not done well (to be fair, not always easy in a large place) and the bacon was black. Not just tge edges which would be fine but 70% of it. Not good enough and as there are quite a few similar comments it's something management needs to understand (like the poor beer). I think this could be a very good Spoons but needs some work.

Quiet evening and space keen prices and beer ok

This is a slightly difficult review to write. Loved the building which is full of character and the staff were good. Food was poor, so we tried to balance with an average review but will try again. For example the toast was soggy, clearly been prepared some time before serving, bacon black as over cooked (don't mean just the edges, all of it).

(26-12-22) Our fourth pub and a drop in quality as when we went in we had a bit of attitude with a barman who got a bit of an attitude while a couple chose what drink to have? I don't no why as it wasn't busy? We got a table and didn't let it bother us.
