Not the best experience I’ve had here. No order at the bar you are left standing waiting to order for a while. Then it makes you leave a tip before the service, which is not great as you don’t know what service will be like. Ordered carvery and off the menu. Food took ages to arrive one item eventually arrived so we thought it would be safe to queue for ours from the carvery, but after getting back to the table the children’s meals still hadn’t arrived. We had almost finished our carvery by the time they finally brought them to the table. Egg shell in the mix grill. Overall not great service.

We waited 30min to be seated but that's fine as no booking been done and it's Sunday. Placed an order, and mixed grill was out of stock. We ordered other adult meal for our 5 amd 6 years childrens and two meals for us. Our children don't like child menu dishes as they commonly not tasty as much as adults one. So, when we get our meals we asked could we get an EMPTY plain to split meal for our children, but we got a tiny small bowl, literly size as small ashtray, and been told they not allowed to give us an normal empty bowl. Every pub we been before was no problem, this one is first time. I spend mo ey for food and drinks and they don't give a normal size empty share plate, what a redicolous thing and behave with a customer's. And one more, they totally DO NOT have a drink menu. If you want some cocktail or bear, you must ask for ALL they have and price for each. If they make a mistake with your bills, they can easily say it is a price, as no option to check it. I'm not sure is it legal at all? It was first and last time we been here.

Watched 3 absolute gems of 'ladies' be rude to staff members whilst moaning about a 30 minute food wait at 8pm on a Friday night whilst there is a packed out restaurant... Sadly they rushed to Trip Advisor to leave a 'review' about their 'horrific experience' that can't be taken back... so in the balance of fairness I thought I would say how well I think the staff handled them and what a decent place it is.

Carvery, Yorkshire pudding was awful chewy. Meat was metre and stone cold, veg wasn't very hot. £2.20 for pot of tea which was only l just over one small cup. All tasted ok. Rude man at the bar shouted at us to leave trays alone. Rest of staff were lovely. 12.15pm Tuesday lunch hardly anyone there. Not sure I would recommend.

Spoilt our Friday night out. Sirloin steak was so tough we had differculty cutting it with a steak knife and had to send it back. The replacement was no better, couldn't chew it. Arrived on a Wednesday just before 6pm, most tables reserved for the Quiz some 3 hours later. Find a table near the bar and order via QR code on table. Internet slow inside so takes ages to get through an order. Seemed pricey compared to Hobson's Choice which we had been regular visitors at each Wednesday (now closed down). Drinks arrived and bottle of still water is sparkling, easy mistake so go to bar to change. Would think I had asked to murder someone such was the look of disgust and daring to ask for the correct drink. Then have to ask for fresh glass as only bottle handed over. Given a glass that strongly smells of vinegar and was cloudy (suspect dishwasher cleaner and cycle not done fully). Of course another look of disgust that I had to return to the bar for an actual clean glass. Food arrives. No cutlery, napkins request for sauce or info if such things are based at a station to collect. Had to go searching for cutlery and salt / sauce swiped off another table. No menu on the table so had to painfully go through app. Corn on the Cob had no butter with it as described. Food was quick out but very much crispy as under heat lamps. Tasted fine though although not worth the price tag. Just rather underwhelming. Between dry heat lamp food and no butter the kids and I felt we needed to search for flower vases and drinks from them to replace the lost moisture. Didn't expect 4 star Ritz. Hobson's Choice you got what you got, no frills but nice food. Would have been happy with that. This was over priced Chef Microwave at its best sadly. Carvery looked nice. Wish I had that instead on reflection. Been years since I have been here and will now likely be years before I try it again.

I recently visited The Trading Post and decided to try their Mega Mixed Grill. I ordered the steak medium, but it arrived medium rare. The waitress, who was very polite and attentive, took it back without hesitation to have it cooked further. Unfortunately, when it returned, it was well done, not quite what I had asked for. The mushrooms were also a bit disappointing – tiny and underwhelming compared to the rest of the meal. On the positive side, the remainder of the meal was satisfying, and the service was top-notch. Despite the mishap with the steak, the waitress handled everything professionally, which definitely added to the overall experience.

Called in for a meal on a Sunday teatime. A table was found inside for us. Menu is extensive and pricing on the low side. The issue really was that there were a lot of families with small children running riot. The parents were not much better though, buying the carvery and loading there plates so high things fell off. Gluttony knows no bounds in K'tring...we won't be hurrying back. I ordered mac and cheese and it came with a barbecue sauce on top. I didnt order that but couldn't be bothered to complain

Very very poor carvery tonight. Replenishment of veg and mash non existent....!!!! Trying to slice beef off a small end of dried up joint. Ended up not eating at all for my family birthday meal ... as everything on the carvery had run out and a 15/20 minute wait time for replenishment!!! Our other family party members would have finished their meals before myself and partner had even been served. Manger had an appalling attitude ... no apology when we asked for a refund. I had booked a table for 3 of us, but one friend arrived too early. She have the name for the booking and was shown to table 25. I arrived on time with my other friend and was shown to table 51. As we couldnt get a phone signal inside or in the car park, I had no way of knowing that she'd been placed at the other end of the building. It was another 30 mins before we met up. How could that happen under one booking? I waited almost an hour for my starter and only got it then because I chased it twice. Apparently there were some issues in the kitchen and I was told by one of the staff that the bar staff had been briefed about it, but they weren't passing that info on. I went to the bar and demanded to know what was going on, but still did not get an answer. As I visit frequently and had not had anything to complain about before, I gave a gratuity at the point of paying. Never again! Had I been told why there would be a long wait, I would have accepted it and probably bought a drink and waited. No complaints about the food when we did get it, though. Tell your staff to be honest with customers.

The carvery was good however the meal ordered from the main menu were very poor, the burgers were burned and the fish was extremely greasy. We also ordered deserts 2 of the Sundays were like chocolate soup when they arrived they had clearly been sat on a hot plate or something similar they chocolate cake and crumble were also swimming in cream rather than ice cream. It was a warm day however if you can’t serve ice cream we should have been told of this before ordering rather than serving us warm chocolate soup.

We arrived a little early which wasn't a problem and were seated. We had hoped to have the carvery but it was 5.30 and it looked very 'tired'. Beef was a scraggy dried up end piece and we noticed it wasn't replaced until well after 6. Only the ham looked decent, but I don't eat it. Vegetables needed to be refreshed too. So, obviously we didn't choose the carvery. The mixed grill and fish and chips we ordered were fine. Just disappointed not to have been able to have a fresh roast dinner.

Both Carvery meals were all cold and a very poor standard. Meat was a sliver of each, measuring about 8 cms. Chef told me it went on weight - where are the scales? Gammon was mostly fat. Even gravy was stone cold. Looked like the food was not monitored. The table was 'sticky' and had to ask for the table to be cleared after we had been there for about an hour. One was for my 4 year old son he was given garlic bread black and hard we spoke to staff and the cook that was on he was cooked another piece of garlic bread that wasnt burnt and was fine. But the burnt one shouldn't of been sent out to a child in the first place. Yesterday we went again and ordered the hotdog it came out black so burnt it was horrible. Me and my partner went for a carvery, and i’m sad to say it was quite disappointing :( The interior of the pub is nice and good beers on tap. The gammon was really nice but everything else for me was not great. the only veg options where cauliflower cheese, carrots which looked really dry and a bit shrivelled, roasted veg in a tomato sauce ? pale roast potato’s and mash, as-well as stuffing. I can tell it’s a great place for parents to bring kids for a bite to eat as the playground outside is impressive. But the carvery isn’t worth it unfortunately. I’d come back again to try something different.

The table was a bit sticky, but clean sticky if you get my meaning. We arrived at 5pm it was quiet not very busy. I ordered 3 meals 1 being a carvery which was fine. However after waiting about 50 minutes our meals arrived mine was steak pie which came with about 12 chips and the pie had been microwaved as the pastry was hard and there was virtually no meat within not what you would expect for the price i paid. My granddaughter ordered Hunters chicken that had either been over cooked or again heated up in the microwave as even I struggled to get a knife through it. It was inedible so I had no choice but to take it back. They gave her a replacement. I should have returned mine but the whole thing was embarrassing.

We had a decent size family gathering, as it was a Sunday the app was restricted for orders so we ordered at the bar- my kids chose some meals that they could later get desserts discounted (£2.50 extra) when we went to order these were told they need to be ordered when doing the original order. It may sound pedantic but with kids if they don’t behave they wouldn’t get these so it doesn’t help to guarantee a dessert with original order. Quite frustrating really.

Easy to book on line and get reminders beforehand to confirm. Always space in the car park. Always a good welcome from the staff. We find the yorkshire puddings a bit on the large size particularly if having the small plate size as it overwhelms the plate - maybe smaller option? Stopped going but were told by a friend new head chef so popped in and the food was great. It would seem that chef is gone as all new staff out front and as mentioned the food was poor at best. Won't be returning anytime soon.

My last ever visit to this place. After a disappointing previously visit a few months ago, I thought we try again and did not fail to disappoint big time. Food order was wrong and delayed. Wanted a glass of water at the bar for my 3 year old, but what looked like a school boy and girl employed to work behind the bar, could not or would not acknowledge us waiting for over 10 minutes, whilst they specially slowly took thier time to serve spirits and other people who could have waited a 5 second that took to poor a half glass of water for a thirsty toddler. Get your act together or shut the shop up, Better still, let some professional people take over.

Long time since I last visited this pub only wanted a drink but is now virtually an eat only venue. Very busy but didn't eat

Me and my great auntie had the best carvery we’ve had in ages. I drove from London, and was treated to an extra Yorkshire pudding. The beef was very good, and the potatoes were lovely and soft. Sarah who serviced was very friendly and helpful. Overall would definitely come back!

Food was missing items and had been left under a headlamp and fries were overdone. Service was very slow too despite being fairly quiet.

I wouldn't return. Went for a cheap and cheerful pub meal but the carvery wasn't nearly as nice as the roasts we make at home. The vegetarian option was very obviously microwaved and i am told that the meat was very overcooked and yucky. Service was non existent and the place appeared quite understaffed. I am sure that the staff were doing their very best.

Just had a nice meal here, being a Monday evening it was quiet but the service was good and the food also good.

I don't know what is going on with the food here these days. My son and daughter-in-law had the burgers which tasted like a very very poor MaccyD! I had the chicken burger. Like someone had chucked a dry piece of chicken breast between two slices of bun, tomato and a little lettuce. This was meant to be part of the prosecco deal. It was so flat half way through it I left it! It used to be decent food wise at this Wetherspoon. Not anymore. Don't waste your time unless you're just going to have drinks.

Very pleasant evening. Waitresses are all friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious and hot. Portion sizes are very good. Lovely atmosphere. Not rushed and could remain at your table for as long as you want. Definitely recommend.

Title of great British pub of the year is well deserved. Wide variety of food to suit all palettes. Dishes are a culinary delight using locally sourced fruit and vegetables (we saw produce being delivered). Service was excellent and staff were very friendly. Even if you aren't local, diverting to the Tollmache Arms is definitely worth it. You won't regret it.

We were very disappointed with the service. We arrived and we greeted by a very nice young lady who took us to our table however we had a couple of issues with our food. When we raised our issues with the manager she dismissed them and refused to help at all. We asked for her name and she didn’t give it to us but her staff called us she was called Maggie.
