The best restaurants serving Seafood food in England

Ordered fish chips and peas affect our dog walk. All cooked to order so had a little wait but it was well worth it. The nicest fish and chips we have had for a long time. Big portions and not greasy. Lovely tasty fish. Very pleasant lady taking the orders too. Thank you very much they were yummy 🤤

Have been using this chip shop for over 25 years Has changed hands several times sometimes for the better some times not. New owners took over about a year ago. Although we don’t go often it took a while for the over exuberant owner to calm down and serve good fish and chips. Visited tonight for my husband’s birthday treat to find they had run out of batter. They offered fried fish but that didn’t appeal. We both had donor meat that seemed very greasy but tasted good and nice chips. How can a fish and chip shop run out of batter!!!!. If nothing else they could have made their own.

Saturday 6pm. Pretty quiet on arrival, a few customers waiting for orders sitting in the chairs. I was the only customer waiting to order, ABSOLUTELY no acknowledgment from the 2 staff of my presence at the counter. Nothing ready to serve in the display cabinets apart from a few sausages, understandably as food is freshly cooked, on the other hand if there were plenty of customers the food could be readily available on arrival within reason certainly for the earlier part of opening hours. Chips are usually perfect, batter is soggy. Spent a fortune feeding staff from here in the past over the years. So I went to Oldfields in Congresbury and spent £75, cabinets full of excellent food ready to go, a queue of customers, staff are pleased to see you, good old fashioned family business. Won’t be going back.

Worst Fish&Chips we have ever bought, chewy chips, completely indigestible, probably left over from previous cooking or even before that. Would not recommend this place.

I agree completely with other comments about being ridiculously overpriced. The fish I bought was on the scales for just a few moments and I think the guy actually just made up the prices. No prices are displayed on the counter. 3 scallops were over £6. I asked for a 1 person portion of hake and ended up with 350g at over £10. I wish I’d challenged at the time. They must rely on one-off tourist trade because they’d never survive from local repeat business. It’s a shame because I like to support independent fishmongers but will certainly not return when I’m next in area.

Great local chippy. Extensive menu, reliable quality and always generous portions. Nice crispy batter. Love the curry sauce!

A typical fish and chips shop where prices are around average for this type of establishment, which is no longer cheap anywhere. However we thought everything was very greasy and unhealthy. Probably our first and last time we come here. One plus the staff were welcoming

Discusting bad service and half bottle of bbq sauce over the meal couldn't even eat it thrown it in bin waste of 15 quid. And cold.

Decided to try here as ‘Best of MH’ highly recommends. Was awful - dry fish, soggy batter, bland mushy peas. Probably worst fish & chips we ever had.

My husband has followed Dan Dan the Lobster Man on Facebook and we visited Porthleven purely to eat here. Sadly we were disappointed. The food was expensive and the crab sandwich was bland. We waited about 45 minutes for a bland crab sandwich and a pot of cockles. The cockles were tasty. Other people sitting near us had a sharing platter which looked good. Go and try it and make your own mind up.

Coffee was ok and nice to sit outside however I found the disabled toilet dirty could do with a deep clean and staff seemed over worked.

I used to rate this fish n chip shop top marks for the best tastiest fish n chips and visited for the past 20 years or so. Very nice friendly guy runs the place, I’ve recently stopped using as the past 3/4 purchases have been dripping in grease, uncooked thick batter and the chips not nice anymore…..like it’s a different oil or something. Shame, as it only takes me 7 minutes to walk there. So, I’ve now found a local alternative to buy my fish n chips.

Very disappointing. Have guests staying from Europe who were very excited to have fish and chips. What a let down, large chips small, regular kids portion. Anaemic chips and bitty. Quite frankly felt embarrassed. Large chips £4.20!! Same size as regular. Will avoid in future.

I have visited Yatton Fish Bar for about 30 years. When my children were small (now 38 and 39) they enjoyed getting a takeaway and sitting in the car watching the trains at Yatton Railway Station. HOWEVER, this evening, (we are having a new kitchen fitted) we decided to get something out and remember past times. We arrived just after 1700hrs. The chips were soggy and not properly cooked and my cod was so dry! It was a medium cod, which I would have rated a small or child's portion!!! In the good old days the owner would be trying new potatoes or oils, and ask for our opinions. This evening has put me off Yatton Fish Bar for the rest of my life!!! Maybe I have just experienced a bad time for the business, but how can such a wonderful chip shop go so far down the hill? I would be interested to hear from the management please...

Fantastic good, chips are tasty and the perfect portion size. Chicken nuggets good quality too. Fast delivery and within the stated time scale. Food was hot on delivery, No items missing from the order - all items received. Very competitive pricing - look forward to returning here soon.
