ordered a large haddock and potato fritter haddock was £11.00 plus came to eat the fish it was dry and over fried i could pick it up and bang it on the work surface even the dog walked away and he eats any thing going

Popped in for lunch when the card machine was down at work. Was quickly served by friendly and helpful young lad. Salad was fresh and tasty and just a little onion like I'd requested. My partner also comes here a lot as he says it does the best fried chicken!

Great customer service, great food; honestly people need to have a little more patience with the staff because they can be a little understaffed and drowning in online orders but everything is done professionally, and to the best of their abilities.

The food is usually good, however yesterdays experience was awful!! Walked in to 5 staff working and 4 customers in the queue. When it was my turn I was asked 3 times for my order, which consisted of 4 items. Non of the staff had any direction or showed any effort, my food order was eventually started, then stopped and kept warm as they had to wait for kebab meat that the next customer had been served, and he was waiting on fish to be cooked! No organisation in the place. I was in the shop for 22 minutes for 4 items. When i dished up at home 2 of the dishes were luke warm. Not impressed.

I go in and try this chippy in stafford for me and my partner. The two female workers had excellent customer service both very quick and efficient,paid for my order and just waited round as I had chicken that needed to be cooked and prepared. Was just scanning round the shop looking at the menus and all was presented nice. Kept hearing this stomach cough like someone was going to be sick, looked around and in the corner of the shop was a male worker mid 50s absolutely hacking his lungs up and gagging. Thought it was one of them and then it kept getting worse, he wasn't even putting his hand over his mouth just spewing his spit etc everywhere, then i noticed 'hang on a sec thats the food prep area'. Kept watching and noticed he was handling everyone's food and his cough got that bad he turned around to just get a better angle from his stomach/lungs to cough (even coughed that hard he made a very loud gag noise). Bearing in mind the food was for myself and my grandparent i just walked out even though i had paid. Absolutely disgusting hygiene and you should be ashamed of yourself, if your handling food and you know you have a cough/stomach/sickness bug stay in the back and do admin work OR ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN PREPARE PEOPLES FOOD. joke and people of stafford beware about the atrocious hygiene that this store has to offer.

Do not bother with this place if you wish to have your meal delivered by Just Eat. Our order showed on computer as being delivered but nothing came. The Staff did not want to know. This is the 3rd time this has happened to us but previously the Manager has sent a fresh order with one of his Staff. Just Eat cannot be contacted and the Manager's brother is just not at all concerned at the food not being delivered. We definately will not bother again.

Bought a chippy tea for the family and the portion sizes were ridiculously small, tasted funny and were really greasy. Rang Weston road who advised to contact Uber for a refund, guess what refund refused I will never use either again

I ordered and asked for delivery. Litre I knew that on e you order a deliver then this people don’t even bother to do the right thing, then if you complaint they just say (rudely) get a refund form Uber! Horrible service no care nothing! Of course then you contact ubereats and forget about your refund! Horrible

In one ordered my tea from here chips disgusting pie like it was 2 days old in warmer fish chewy and strong taste to it curry if the pot was any smaller you need a magnifying glass to see it in all it went in the bin this place has gone down hill food was good now its rubbish second time now never use the place again

Went to get my tea as I had been poorly bad mistake ignored for ten to fifteen minutes while they got all the delivery orders ready not even any eye contact or to say we will be with you in a minute!! There seemed to be loads of staff getting the Uber orders done I was about to ask if we needed to ring to place an order when I was actually asked what I would like. As other reviews have said they need to concentrate on the locals bloody lost my custom

Stopped off here for tea 7:10 arrived in there 7:45 like a royal mug left. Young lad trying his best to serve everyone on his own. Another young lad clearly doing deliveries orders. Cope with that but manager/owner doing absolutely sod all queue growing longer & longer yet still one young lad left to serve alone? Manager is normally friendly & chatty but having watched this guy watch the queue & do nothing but leave young lad to serve alone is a boss that cares little for his staff & even less for his customers. Won’t be going here again will use ‘the wreck’ or queens fast service as you want from a chippy & several staff willing & ready to serve. Pathetic display of managing your shop ! Hopefully you’ll lose customers quickly so something is done???

Had a lovely gluten free sausage and chips (the first I’ve had for 6 years). Ordered over the phone and it was ready when they said it would be. My husband had a large (normal) cod and chips which he also really enjoyed and for £10.30 for the both it was a yummy bargain.

Since COVID this chip shop has gone from great to absolutely disgusting, customers now are forced to stand outside and wait (due to COVID restrictions ) and they prioritise online orders , which means quite often there is only one person serving people actually waiting outside, I’m really sorry to point this out but COVID won’t be here forever and neither will your custom . Also whatever was wrong Friday night both me and my suffering from bad stomachs after eating your food?? WE WILL BE TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER LOCAL CHIPSHOP NEXT WEEK

Rude unpleasant staff who are more interested in having conversations with each other rather than listening to your order. We were asked what we wanted, we then said we’d like 2 fish & chips & the girl turned away, spoke to another member of staff & then turned back round to us & said ‘what was the other one?’ We found that really unpleasant for her to just turn around half way through us placing our order Food wasn’t nice, fish was burnt & chips were dry. Asked for a 2nd saveloy & I was told they don’t have any. They were half an hour from closing so seems like they just didn’t want to do another one. If they had ran out maybe consider upping your orders? I would of gone back & asked for a refund but instead we put the food in the bin. It was vile. The state of the floor behind the counter wasn’t nice to look at while you’re waiting for your food also. Staff were keen to tell us about the 2 person rule in the shop but didn’t ask the other guy in the shop who was just stood there talking to leave so we could come in, as we were waiting outside & he already had his food in his hand!

Go here most weeks, excellent food and service, great choice, best for gluten-free choice by far in Stafford.

Love this chip shop. Takes card payment, lovely chips, curry, peas. We had fish for the first time recently and that was nice and tasty. The customer service is always good I cN have a chat with the workers and see them chatting to others so no idea where these comments about bad customer service have come from. Lost a star because you have recently started using cardboard boxes. This makes my food taste like cardboard :( always too much of a portion too, can only ever eat a quarter of my cheesy chips before I get too full.

Love this place - gluten free Friday and Saturday, lots of choice, great chips and great price. What more could you ask for?!

Ordered a chicken special, which is listed in the special section above and for the same price as a chicken tikka special for £4, it has in the past always been chicken off the shwarma stick in the corner with chips in a box. Ordered that today and got home and found I have several bits of fried chicken in a box and on adding up the total cost realise that we must have been charged more. There seem to two chicken specials and they are both named the same but one is shwarma and one is fried chicken. I don't really like fried chicken so this was disappointing, would it be possible to name them differently or ask at point of purchase which one you like?Otherwise the food and service is good.

Went in for fish and chip specials, got greeted by the most rude member of staff. Lady with blonde hair and glasses. Anyway, ordered two fish specials, she came back and asked "what sauce?" So I asked for curry on the side, as I don't want my fish being soaked in curry, I just wanted to dip my chips in them. She then replied with "you can only have sauce on top with a special" ... Why? Why can't it just be put in a pot. I ended up having to pay for curry sauce in a pot on the side, and have no sauce with the special, defeating the reason why I ordered a special in the first place. Her attitude throughout was shocking and she looked like she'd been forced to work for slavery. Won't be returning.

I used to use this place regular. Last time I did the chips were crunchy and crystalline, just not cooked, the pie was at best luke warm.I have just put my Pie and chips in the bin that I purchased 20 minutes ago. I asked if the pies were hot as last time it wasn't, was assured it was hot. I could put and hold my finger in the steak and kidney pie. It was not hot. The chips were also cold and old as my work colleague pointed out. I think this place now needs a visit to see exactly what temperature they are selling their food at because it cannot be meeting legal requirements and food poisoning is an issue when you fail to comply with the law.

There is parking outside . It’s well worth a visit as there is a great variety of food here and all very nice

always come here for takeaway, food is always clean and fresh and good portion sizes, even when there is a queue they have beneficent staff

My son loves this place 😍 I must admit as far as chip shops go it is up there for great chips! Staff are friendly & the place is clean & tidy. What more could you want from a chippy!

Each order from our last 3 visits have been incorrect . New staff are not listening to the customers & the portions have become a lot smaller . Been using this place for 20 years but now it's time to move on .

What's not to like. Decent guys behind the counter in this clean and well run chippy. The chicken kebab was right up there...packed with fresh salad made with care and only £4.30. Everyone seemed to be a regular which says more than the previous review. Will return.

Mi familia y yo hemos estado utilizando este chips durante muchos años, la comida siempre ha sido muy bueno, nunca he tenido ninguna queja hasta hace poco. Tras varias visitas que hemos encontrado el servicio de atención al cliente horrible! ! No puedo enfatizar lo suficiente lo terrible que uno de los miembros senior del equipo! ! Nuestra orden de comida estaba mal y al volver a la tienda del miembro del personal nos pareció divertido y ninguna disculpa fue escuchado! Por desgracia, siento decir que no se venda con este nuevo y no se lo recomendaría a mis amigos, familia y colegas! !

we call frequently for fish and chips would highly recommend there service is very good always very friendly the food is always very hot and is cooked to order The list is extensive for what you want from burgers pies kebabs fish fish cakes sausages roe all these can be had on request

Often visit on a Friday night when they offer a gluten free option. Fish & chips is now back on the menu after years without. Great quality fish & chips, & generous portions.

Often pop in for a quick take away tea when at work. Quick efficient service. Good value for money. I like the special meal with gravy. Proper northerner me!

Estado aquí unas cuantas veces. Porciones siempre buena. El personal es amable. Realmente no me puedo quejar. Hay un montón de buenos "ofertas" que incluyen bebidas, etc.

We are regulars. A new member of staff gave us unusually small portions one week. When we went back week after, the managers had noticed (we hadn't complained) and couldn't do enough for us. So apologetic! If all restaurants/ food places were like this how much happier would we all be?

Always good quality fare in a busy chippy. Busy is good.Located on a busy road, it's sometimes difficult to park, but some use the small pub car park next door.

Really good all day specials. The kebabs are great & the chips are always good. Tony , Terry , Sarj & the girls are always extremely friendly.

If you want chips, and just chips it's fantastic. Their chips really are good but everything else let's it down. Tried the cod, small, over cooked. Below average portions and slightly over priced. I'll be going elsewhere in future.

I sent my husband here as I was ill and didn't feel like cooking. Really looking forward to fish and chips but really disappointed as the fish was disgusting, the batter was so hard I had to crack it off the fish. The fish itself was chewy and inedible. Chips were lovely though hence the one star. Will think twice about going here for fish in future.

I popped in to this fish bar after leaving the hospital. I had a cone of chips and a large fish. It cost over £5 and I drove home. When I cut in to the fish the batter was hard and the fish had shrunk a lot inside and was very rubbery like it had been reheated and kept warm for hours. Gutted as I was starving. I gave one point as the chips were OK.

The fish was Overcooked and the batter heavy and greasy. Having said that, all the fish bars in the Midlands use this heavy batter and Overcooked the fish. Perhaps it's because I'm used to seaside chippys.Chips quite nice though.

Not knowing the area, I popped into the fish bar to get something to eat as there were no cafes around. I had fish, chips, curry sauce and a can of Tizer and change from a £5 note! I sat on a nearby bench and tucked in. luckily the weather was good. The chips and curry sauce were superb, but the fish was let down somewhat by the batter. It was a bit too heavy and greasy for my taste so I just scooped the fish out of it. None the less, good value for money, and it filled the hole!

Always friendly and polite staff. Food is always to a high standard. A testiment to a well managed team.
