Worst coffee I have had my trip to UK, and I have even had one from Greggs. Don't bother

Lovely friendly cafe with good food & decent coffee. Slightly slow on the till, creating a bit of a queue but a nice atmosphere. Homemade pizza was delicious 👌

I just wish that they would sweep up around their outside tables

Charging £2 extra for a cheap takeaway coffee cup is diabolical. Shrugged at twice by staff when asking questions rather than getting a proper answer. Don’t waste your time.

Lovely place to go for coffee and a bite to eat with a good choice of menu. Very dog friendly. Staff very welcoming. Nice to sit outside and people watch.

Had lunch here and was very impressed by the staff, they were very polite with a smile that was genuine, didn’t have to wait too long for food which was cooked and presented beautifully by Jacqueline would definitely recommend this place for your lunch whilst at Trentham Gardens.

Exceptional service meets show stopping tasty ice cream.As it is my birthday today I decided to treat my self to an ice cream.The ice cream looked heart soaringly nice and to see the GF symbols on almost every flavour.They have a 100% customer service award and this is really deserved from the exceptional service we had received today.I let my server know that I had a gluten allergy when he asked and he brought a separate ice cream for both flavours so there was no cross contamination .Also the salted caramel ice cream was divine,I’ve always wanted to try a Nutella ice cream so I picked it and it was so delicious tasted like no other of the lake nearby was full of that Nutella ice cream I would swim and dive into it.My favourite new ice cream flavour.It was clean too,would highly recommend.

I use this place because of its location mostly for coffee - though the flat white ranges from being very nice to pretty revolting. It depends who makes it. Some of the staff are really nice, others a bit brusque. Without the advantage of being where it is, I doubt this would be a successful business.

I think you need to start taking notice of the large amount of BAD REVIEWS.... It only takes 1 bad review to ruin a business

When we go to Trentham Gardens, the first place we go to, Cadwaladers for a takeaway coffee or ice cream. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and go out of the way to insure are experience is very good in this trying times, good on them, and when we are back to the new normal Cadwaladers is the place for my family. Just popped in today Sunday for a coffee and bacon sandwich 🥪🥪 for Teddy bear 🧸 and Maple 🍁, and they loved it. Good to go for a long walk. After the walk we popped in for a coffee ☕☕☕☕to warm up. Good service friendly staff and clean warm restaurant.

'We just don't' was the sentence I was told yesterday which will result in me not going in again. I have been here maybe 5/6 times, I have had lattes and coffees and tea, and they were all great. In particular the mocha was delightful. Yesterday I went, and it was clear the service was very slow due to the point of sale system being slow on the Internet, but these things happen. I ordered my hot drink and I decided I wanted some food, what's on the menu? I can only see vegan sausages and not normal sausages. I asked how much normal sausage were as I couldn't see them, and I was told they didn't sell them. I did remark that it seemed strange and when I asked why they don't sell them, I was sternly told 'We just don't.' I could understand if this was a vegan place, but they sell bacon. I get that sometimes work can be frustrating especially when dealing with slow tills, but snappy/stern remarks such as this are not conducive to the otherwise pleasant atmosphere in Cadwaladers.

Visited the cafe today Staff were lovely no issues at all with the service and friendliness of the ladies working . Unfortunately a noisy place that allows dogs indoors , the food was terribly overpriced a cheese sandwich was just under 7.00 asked if we could have cucumber on as didn’t want side salad said they don’t do cucumber , no sauce provided literally just grated cheese on bog standerd white bread . The jacket with Tuna was better , portion size good and filling tasty . But again not worth the price. Nice coffee and milkshake for this reason will only be returning for drinks and cakes in future

On the wettest May day where it hadn't stopped raining all day, you wouldn't allow a well behaved group of school children to sit down and eat there ice cream in your premises. You asked them to leave your virtually empty shop and stand out side in the rain after you had taken their money. Shame on you where is your compassion? These child are your future customers. I can honestly say we use your shop very often at the weekends and I will not be using it again. I could understand if it was a sunny day with a high demand of footfall but today was not that type of day.

We arrived, ordered our 2 jacket potatoes and two drinks, after 35 minutes no food, I went up and said we have been waiting half an hour but no food, the girl said what did you order? I told her within 5 minutes they appeared, between me saying and receiving another girl came over and offered us free drinks as our order was missed, fare play to them just very frustrating.

I visited Trentham Gardens today. Cold and wet. The blue diamond garden centre cafe is not dog friendly so I went to Cadwaladers. Dog friendly but my little cavalier was not allowed to sit on my lap. First time ever in 3 years I have been told he can't sit on my lap. I am disgusted and won't go back.

Waited 15 minutes for 1 cappuccino. Not really that busy. 😕 had to leave most of it to go do the parkrun!

Despite Trentham shipping village being very dog friendly we had to sit outside. The pots of tea used 'tea leaves' better described as granules and not much of them either. Had to pay by card as they do not accept cash. Toasted sandwich was ok.

We visited couple of times recently and the customer service has been absolutely wonderful both times. The first time my partner and I sandwich outside with our puppy as it was a nice day. My partner is allergic to rocket, and the lady behind the counter made absolutely sure that there was no rocket in the salad. The second time we sat inside as it was raining, and we bought our 13 week old puppy again. We were served with the same level of enthusiasm, every member of staff was more than accommodating for my vegan diet, and my partners allergy. We also had a misbehaving puppy, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff members. When I asked for his bowl to be filled with water, the staff members even offered to bring over the water for him. When our misbehaving, puppy then decided to tip the water all over the floor, I asked for some blue roll to clean this up, and a staff member offered to mop the floor for us. I work in hospitality and this level of service, even when the café is busy, it’s absolutely wonderful to see. Cadwaladers is becoming a regular haunt of ours ☺️ Thank you so much - your hard work doesnt go unnoticed xxx

Excellent service and extremely good value for money

Went to the till to order 2 toasties and 2 coffees, only to told before I finished my sentence that there's no onion and food will be at least 25 minutes. So I just ordered coffee. My wife then went straight up and ordered our food which was on our table within 5 minutes. I'm disappointed as I have a disfigurement on my face and believed I was judged. The lady on the till was named Karen. I'm not happy at all on my first trip to Trentham Gardens as a member

I love dogs but constant barking hardly calls for a peaceful coffee break, ordered two coffee which was ok, the table was filthy i asked waitress to clean table to visible tutt while spraying cleaner all over me and drinks and missing table !! not acceptable wont be returning. Awful customer service

We came here in the 20th of December at 04,00 one waitress was very rude saying she only has one pair of hands we only asked if our tuna sandwich was on order in her 50s brown hair the other waitress was nice with wavy brown hair and when asked if they have a jacket potatoes no we’re not serving not good customer service at all.

Visited Cadwalders cafe this morning. Bought two coffees 1 dairy free due to allergy the other was a standard coffee. I told the chap who served me that I had an allergy which was documented on the receipt. The cost was £7 which I think is quite expensive as they were small coffees but I am aware that things have gone up in price so paid the £7. The chap said the drinks will be bought to you. My mum found a table that had drinks and food from the previous customers. The lady brought our coffee over and took the previous tray with her. She didn't clean the table, she didn't tell us which coffee was dairy free which was the standard coffee so mum had to taste both coffees in order to determine which was which. The coffees didn't taste of anything if I'm honest I would be very surprised if there was any coffee in the there.

I will not be going for coffee here again! I ordered a latte and yet again I received watered down warm milk,could not taste a hint of coffee😡

Im a regular visitor at Trentham and often come for a coffee. The cafe is generally always busy and the staff do work hard given this. There is one member of staff I find quite abrupt in her mannerisms, she could be friendlier! Food and drinks are always nice however I do feel unwelcome when visiting in the last hour before the cafe shuts. The cakes are wrapped up, cafe is sectioned off, drinks are served in take away.. I appreciate staff have to close up before finishing time but more attention to this would be better for the paying customer.

2 slices of toast arrived Cold crisp & brittle,the butter was to cold to spread,I would not recommend going.

Busy lunchtime, had to queue to order . Had the pizza which we shared between 2 was delicious very cheesy.

I wasn't able to make a purchase as this establishment wouldn't accept cash, I had to go and purchase a cappuccino from another establishment and bring it back to sit with my sister while she ate her bacon sandwich

So I visited this place with my sister but was unable to take payment by cash, I should have the choice.

Trentham: Wonderful Ice Cream at £4.00 per tub, double scoop. 50p with flake. Was my first visit and would call again. I would lower my expectation next time though when it comes to service. No smiles, no eye contact, no appreciation for the business given and apathy shown throughout - and quite sharp in letting you know this business does not accept cash, card payments only which is a shame, as I do like to use cash when supporting businesses.

Chaos. Queued for 15 minutes to be served, to be told at the till that there is a 40 minute wait to get a bacon sandwich!!! No one thought to put a sign up or tell people who were waiting

Amazing vegan lunch time menu. The vegan cheese and beans jacket potato followed by the vegan choc nut sundae was superb. Cooked and prepared for carefully. I can't wait to return. 😊

Wow and incredible ice cream shop that sells everything from breakfast to lunch and everything in between! Whether it’s a quick ice cream cone or a sit down lunch you will not be disappointed. Thoroughly recommend

This place is so frikin slow. Seriously whoever runs this place crack the bloody whip. It's the middle of the day on a dead weekday and it takes you 10 minutes to serve one person... Just to take the bloody order..

Overall my experience in this outlet was disappointing and this was due to the fact of seeing a staff member opening a packet with his teeth and proceeding empty the contents onto someone’s desert also beards and hair not covered and being messed with during the preparation of food

:I had high hopes for this place but was sadly disappointed. The food was less than satisfactory - the pancakes and waffles tasted like they were warmed up from the previous night, lacking freshness and flavor. Furthermore, cleanliness seems to be an overlooked aspect here. The cutlery, including knives and forks, were not properly cleaned, which significantly impacted my dining experience. To make matters worse, the coffee was also quite disappointing. It was not up to the standard one would expect from a restaurant that serves breakfast. I regret to say that I cannot recommend this place based on my experience. It might be best to seek out other dining options in the area.

Called into Tenby branch, very pleasant girl served us, have had your ice cream for over 60 years, I think it’s still the best in the uk

Fabulous friendly and efficient service today despite being incredibly busy! Lovely tea and toastie and tea cake.

Only went in for a drink and was served by some lovely men behind the till who were polite taking my order. However, when it came to sitting at my table, one of the female members of staff came over and was extremely rude and abrupt about my dog sitting on my lap. She told us this wasn't allowed and dogs must be on the floor. She didn't explain the reason for this or say it in a friendly manner. When I explained the reason for the dog on my lap, she just repeated herself, again very abrupt. There was no sign to explain the policy. We are always respectful of polices and willing to adhere but being told in a rude manner is not the way to go about it. What started off as a lovely experience turned out to ruin our visit and we definitely don't want to return. We only stayed as our drinks had already arrived.

What a positive experience from the whole staff .. especially would like to thank Joe the manager and Nat who went out of their way to help and assist us Food good prices hot and quick to the table despite being very busy Staff smiling and actually looking happy at work Highly recomended Sean the manager on duty today despite being very busy was quick to come.and talk to us about the praise we had for our experience Thanks guys we will be back

A dog friendly eatery that makes dog owners feel extremely uncomfortable. Staff are rude and unwelcoming, particularly the woman often found behind the till. Staff were whispering rudely about our party sat at the table as we stood in front of them in the queue. I confronted the rude woman very politely and she got extremely defensive and responded rudely ( I look young for my age). When my mum confronted her separately, the woman did not respond as she had to me. Interesting that staff would intimidate young customers. Safe to safe we will not return and will not recommend to others

I have been here twice over the last few weeks. What rude staff ! The lady on the till is particularly rude. They should NOT be in a customer service role. Why would anyone go to this place to be talked to like a piece of rubbish. I will NOT be back. Sort out the staff. I went here a few weeks ago and took the time to write this review as I was absolutely shocked at what I had experienced here. Having worked in a university coffee shop that can get mental with the drop of a hat I am used to busy cafe life and try to be simple with orders and quick so it's less stressful behind the counter. The staff working on this day are clearly NOT trained in customer service or common decency. It was rather busy and I was with a friend and her kid. The staff couldn't stop being bothered about this kid as they stood chatting about how the kid went to save a table for us in the far back corner, they kept muttering under their breath rude comments about the 'child'. Once it was my turn to be served the ordering and payment (card) was easy enough, I was asked where I was stilling and said "I'm with that child over there" Absolutely no recognition about the fact I could hear all her comments (which I won't repeat) and her attitude. Paid and sat down and lady/s behind the till stopped serving customers to look over at us and mutter stuff between them. Could they not see the queue? I have never felt so bad for suggesting somewhere I have been in the past to a friend with a CHILD... she felt uncomfortable the whole time after being stared at and talked about it. I will say, this was the only child there, others were babies in prams or elderly people so I admit it must have been such a shock to see someone aged in the middle... Won't be visiting again or recommending. It's a shame as before I had a wonderful experience and was excited to visit again.

Business is difficult now , I get that , accepting card payment only for ice cream , is however total madness . What will you do in Trentham with queues out onto the street in Summer , you can see the scenario now , kids and older people queuing just to be turned away because they don't have cards . Use that rule in the cafe if you must but not just for take away ice cream sales . I queued today only to be told this when we already had the ice creams , no sign in evidence nor were we told this was the case prior to ordering . Because I only had cash then it was refused even though I offered for the server to keep the change that would have been due from the note but we were allowed to keep the product worth approx £10.00 . Cadwaladers , I am concerned for you as a Welsh person for a Welsh Company , have you completely lost any business acumen that you had ? Do not turn away cash and give away product at the same time . I was happy enough to get free Ice Cream but honestly this policy of yours is one of complacency and shows complete lack of regard and respect for the customer . Remember there is extremely high quality Snugburys ice - cream on offer just around the corner there .I suggest if you do not wish to find yourself in receivership again you reverse this situation and promptly ! Just to note that the response from Cadwaladers was as mealy mouthed as expected and they have no intention of changing their card only policy in spite of their customers preferences' - So Ice- Cream lovers you know what to do , don't waste your time trying to buy your favourite flavours at Cadwaladers 9 outlets , find another retailer who welcomes you ! Had to sit outside due to the interior been closed at midday. Served by a member of staff who was unhelpful clearly in the wrong job and to top it off the cakes are very mediocre.

Very inefficient at taking orders. Waited for 25mins for a que which wasn’t even long. We ordered 2 espressos and were charged £5.20… for 2 espressos. So effectively, slow service and over priced in summary.

Nice place. Had to queue for about 10 minutes but you could see staff were busy. Ordered tea and toastie. Tea brought over, couple of minutes wait for food. Staff lovely and helpful. They dont accept cash but I never have any on me. Guy in front of me wanted to pay cash but had a card too so that was resolved. Having stood in the queue i got to the till only to to discover that cadwaladers only take card payments. Having forgotten my cards I had managed to pay with cash in all the other shops at the trentham shopping village but wasn't able to sit and enjoy a coffee . Shame on you for excluding a proportion of society, who for what ever reason, don't have payment cards.

I really lost focus on the coffees I was buying because of the amazing time it took to place my order and then the wait until eventually two simple cups of coffee arrived. I was buying for my lady so stuck with it longer than...

First time my friend and I have visited Trentham shopping village and we came here for a bowl of soup which was very good and nice and hot. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful Would certainly visit again if we were in the area

Dined outside today as it was a lovely day and we had brought the dog with us. Table was clean, service was quick and food was good. I had a gluten free white chocolate brownie and was asked if it was for dietary reasons (which it was) so I was informed that it came with a "may contain" warning so it was my choice. I was fine though. My daughter had the chicken tikka toastie and a lush hot chocolate with all the naughty marshmallows and cream. Overall a pleasant dining experience so thank you 👍

Terrible. Had to clear our table. Ordered jacket potato with cheese £5.95, arrived in polystyrene lid, along with a toastie in the other half. No salad with jacket as menu stated. Hot drinks in takeaway cups. Definitely won’t go In again.

Poor layout and system - had to queue for ages just to place the order and then waited even longer whilst the order was processed. Just not acceptable. One person taking orders and they were piling up! Maybe not enough staff or some off on lunch break, but it just isn't good enough.

Stale Carrot Cake at least a week old- very poor. Flat white good. Queues very long. Will go elsewhere in the Gardens next time.

Expensive prices and a snooty attitude when I made a point to the cashier about going back to cash because the card machine was playing up not willing to have a conversation seems like she thinks she's the boss perhaps she is I have no idea but her attitude stinks I only made a suggestion there was no need for the responses I got in the tone they were in nice food and drink but very overpriced also no onion for the toasties how this place keeps going with this kind of service and prices is beyond me, also I see on here that others have mentioned staff attitude, how many people have to say the same thing before something is done about it

We have been a regular visitor to Cadwalders, however we have been today, no one was willing to stop their conversation and serve me and then when the coffee and toast came it was in a cardboard cup and foam lid . not very presentable...

Shame, had diary free options which was great for our daughter. However was served by the most grumpy faced women I ever did see. Was rude and seemed like everything was a hassle. Clearly didn’t want to be a work, but to be rude with with child means you really shouldn’t be public facing. We were asked if the diary free was for allergy or preference, Yet surely it shouldn’t be approached any different, surely should be a different scoop used regardless. Hey ho, not somewhere we’ll visit again just in case. Don’t fancy a trip to A&E because someone can’t be bothered to smile and do their job not worth the risk.

4 of us went into this cafe and walked straight out after seeing that they didn’t accept cash! You will probably use the covid excuse. Plenty of of other businesses have accepted cash throughout including another nearby cafe where we went instead.

i visit Trentham gardens roughly three times a week and call in Cadwalladers for coffee/ice cream or snack. We visited Friday 19th August and asked for a tub of ic cream, the chap serving said the card machine was down but we could pay at the main till. Called in today for an ic cream and i realised i had left my purse in the car. We had some cash on us and i knew the ic cream section only took cards, so i asked if i could pay cash at the main till. The girl serving thought i was trying to explain the laws of physics because she just didnt get the fact that all i wanted was to pay cash at the main till. In the end she had to get the manager, who just said we dont do cash, havnt done cash for four years and I hadnt been in the shop. I said that i had and actually pointed out the fellow who served me on the friday and told me to pay cash. The Manager insisted that i hadnt been in Friday and they would not accept cash. He said he wasnt lying, I said neither am i why would i Stand along side many other people and lie about being in before. Well there will not be another time. God help anyone who has real money on them

Wanted a light lunch. After queuing for about 30 minutes I order a kid's meal and the till crashed. Takes minutes to come back up and they have to put the kids meal through again. I continue to order one ham and cheese sandwich and two cheese and tomato sandwiches only to be told there is no tomato, great I'll just have cheese then. After about a 10 minute wait three pitiful looking sandwiches arrive but no kids meal. We chase and get told we have to help ourselves to the drink and crisps. Nice to have been told at the till, they fetched the child sandwich. I get they are having a bad day with the till crashing (supposedly when they use a specific toaster). And the lady did apologise but I will not be rushing back here for food.

Love it here. We are frequent visitors as we are Trentham pass holders. The food is delicious and it's the best ice cream ever!! Staff all work hard. Highly recommend here for a lovely wind down time.

We have a coffee and lunch every time we go to Trentham but today was below their usual great standard. Toasted cheese sandwich was made with mozzarella instead of cheddar as is usual with no salad left but still charged the same.

Called in today 7/3/22, after not being in for a while , and what an utter disappointment, The Flat White was awful, the bacon looked as if it had been under the heater for ages , No one bothered to ask if all was OK, So I for one will not be back , this is such a shame as they are capable of much better than this .

Excellent. One of the best barista made coffees I've had outside a specialist coffee shop. I had a flat white with my toasted Coronation Chicken sandwich. It was so good I had another to go. Can recommend.

I don't often eat ice-cream... However, since it was scorchio and I was in the vacinity I couldn't resist as this is possibly the best ice-cream for miles around. Bought a 2scoop tub with spoon so it wouldn't dissolve in the current 29° sunshine. And sat outside on their tables to people watch whilst I devoured it. They no longer take cash payments!

Felt ripped off buying ice cream, smallest scoop I've ever had!

Cannot praise this place enough best coffee around. Also the staff are very friendly Cannot do enough for you my husband and I have been going for years.
