Great local chippy. Extensive menu, reliable quality and always generous portions. Nice crispy batter. Love the curry sauce!

This is an established, family run, proper fish and chip business. They care about their products, their service and their customers.- and it shows. We are regular, loyal customers. We are also local so we know the alternatives but we go back here for more as it is the best.

Obviously overcooked but they still served it. Previously stopped buying the chips as they were so poor and often only lukewarm but were ok this time. Went back after a long absence as it's a convenient location but will now look elsewhere.

Fish overcooked, chips overcooked and an owner who's thinks he's a bit of a 'geezer' when actually he's just obnoxious. Bit like going into a village pub when you're not a local. GX deserves better.

If you want the best fish and chips for miles around, that you can ring up and order, with friendly helpful service, then ring Andrew’s Plaice. In over 7 years has never disappointed, not once. The fact that he often sells out towards the end of the evening on Friday and Saturdays tells you all you need to know. Healthy fish and chips cooked perfectly.

Another amazing Friday night feast from Andrews, Cod was exceptional! Always a recommendation of mine - never fails to impress!!

BEST Fish and Chips in the area without doubt! I’m perplexed as to why so many negative reviews! My experience is for the half a dozen or so times I’ve got fish and chips from here I’ve been extremely impressed with the food! All freshly cooked and a lovely light batter, not oily at all! Chips good too. And I’m a harsh critic! So believe me when i say it’s good! There seems to be either fabulous reviews like mine or pretty horrific reviews, and not much in between! Strange.

Having tried the alternatives in Gerrards Cross I am a regular customer here because Andrew dishes up FRESH TASTY well cooked fish every time (and chips!) He also keeps us entertained on every subject under the sun while we wait.

I had a fantastic haddock and chips takeaway from here. It was arguably one of the best I’ve had in a long time. I definitely would return, in the area this has a great reputation and I would recommend thoroughly. Staff are of cheerful disposition.

Mr plaice was rude but mrs plaice even more so ... shouty .. abusive .. fword and b....h screamed at me after I had placed a phone order and they hadn't even started cooking the order when I came to pick up at allotted time. I am a carer and this order was for a client . So she did not get her chosen meal that day. And the irony was that they had no other customers! I wish Churchill's fish and chips would open here ...

Wonderful service, cleanest F&C I have seen in UK. Amazing juicy inside crispy outside fish. Had 2 medium sized cod and chips, it was more than enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Thank You for being around us. XXX

We’ve had a great takeaway of haddock and cod to include some chicken burgers as our kids aren’t huge fans of fish. We’re in the middle of a pandemic and they allowed us to order in advance for an evening pickup. By the time hubby arrived home it was still hot, it was crispy and the chips were yum. We’re lucky to have them so close and I hope the local community continues to rally to keep small businesses such as this going.

Believe me, I know my Fish & Chips and you can take from me, it would be a real challenge to find a competitor within 20 miles

Haven’t had fish and chips in a long time, I’m so glad I chose Andy Plaice to break my diet. It didn’t disappoint!! Brought fish,chips,and sausages for the whole family, everything was very fresh, it was all lovely and everyone enjoyed every mouthful. We will definitely be going back.

This chippy was good when it first opened a few years ago but has really gone off the boil as the chips taste as though they were cooked days ago then warmed up. I don't know if they are using cheaper cooking oil or what but there is a strange after taste with them and they are dry...ugh!

This chippy was deserted when we arrived this evening. I suspect the locals avoid it. Take a look at the other poor reviews which consistently mention stone cold refried chips. The saveloy was also cold and flabby. The cod was dreadful. How difficult can it be to serve fresh hot chips?

Fish was obviously cooked from frozen was spongy soggy and no taste , dogs ate it though. Wouldn’t bother with this again very disappointed. Chips were ok but that’s not worth paying too prices for.

Owner will watch you line up for ages only to tell you they don't have any thing. Not sure why I o ti ue to come back here as the food is very average and the owner can be very grumpy. The young girls that front the shop are consistently excellent and, I think, a little ashamed of the nonsense that goes on behind them.

Really awful food and way way expensive even if it is snobby Gerrard's cross. The scampi was cold and more bread crumbs than scampi. The chips were cold dry shrivelled and tasteless. What sort of fish n chip shop that's just opened doesn't have any cod in?. Over £30 for three meals is extornianate and won't be going there again. My two friends fish n chips at £10.40 each were stone cold also. Wouldn't recommend this to a tramp even if he was starved to death.

My last visit had the same scrappy chips we have had last couple of times. This time the fish was not good. A little watery in texture.

Bloody pathetic. How can you close your fish shop at 8.15 on a Tuesday night because you sold out of fish. Straight lazy and couldn’t care. Think they are making way too much money!

Just got a takeaway, so disappointed. Pie was solid and completely dry, fish was very small cold and soggy, the chips were cold, and very dark in colour, certainly didn't look fresh, maybe left over from lunchtime. Spend almost £10 and couldn't eat it.

When all else fails, you can always rely on Andrew to serve you up a great helping of fresh chips when you're on the go. In and out in 2 minutes as they had just come out the fryer. Always a winner.

Reviews.Poor chips and small pieces of fish.We had large pieces of(medium ) fish. Whilst the chips were not A1, they were not the worst in the world. Will certainly buy again.

Andrews Place is a down to earth traditional chippy in the heart of Gerrards Cross. The eatery is very welcoming and friendly, the waiting times are good, and best to all the food is amazing. There is a generous selection of classic takeaway options; everything from the predictable fish and chips (a nice selection of different dishes available too), to burgers, chicken nuggets and pies.

Fast, friendly service. Well packaged and still roasting hot when eating at home. Good sized portions. Will certainly be getting fish and chips from here again. Good value as not expensive.

This take away was excellent as usual but starting to see a detrition in chip quality. My last take away had more than a few small "chip bits" that I put down to end of a batch. This time however I had some from a fresh batch that went in.

My work colleague and I had cod and chips from Andrew’s Place as a treat for lunch.

Great fish and batter is wicked! Mushy peas a very worthwhile add. Pays to call ahead particularly if you want large portions. They typically need 10-15 minutes. Make sure you get a fresh batch of chips. Sometimes the tail end are "scraggy". Just check.

Super place for haddock and chips. Always cooked to perfection. Great service as well. We would always go here as first choice for fish and chips.

This is my local chippy but I never go in there anymore. At best the quality is variable. Recent visits got bony fish and lukewarm, soggy chips. Not particularly friendly either. AVOID.

The fish & chips were hot & tasty. We had some items cooked to order. However for the price the portions are fairly small compared to some other chip shops I have tried in the local area.

Decent fish n chips, not greasy but fresh & eatable, not amazing but decent if you are in a hurry or hungry, I would say the best for a few miles around but then again all the others are terrible, I would certainly bo back there. What I don't understand is why fish n chip shop owners do not try to make their product exceptional, very fresh fish, large portions & cooked to perfection, they all seem to be just average or very poor, if you want the best in fish n chips you should go to "the sea shell" Lisson Grove, Marylebone, London, & you will see what I am talking about

He utilizado varias veces antes de pescado y patatas fritas en la hora del almuerzo, pero en esta particular visita la comida era mala. Pescado cocinado aguado y no totalmente, patatas fritas empapadas. No volveremos, muy decepcionado.

Went to Andrews Plaice to have fish and chips with my Mum although it only has 2 tables we decided to eat there wow amazing fish and chips best I have had for a very long time lovely batter on the fish and nice soft white fish and the chips were amazing Friendly staff and good service will definately visit again

Sí, son un poco caros (Calle carles P es más barato y mejor), pero valdría la pena si fue un buen comer. El cod y probado como parecía Coley (Pollock, ya utilizada por McD), y todavía estaba húmedo dentro de la masa. Las patatas fritas eran apenas comestible, aún caliente pero seco.

We ventured to Andrews Place today after doing a quick shop in Gerrards Cross. Andrews Place is not our local chippy but we liked the look of the shop so thought we'd venture in. Good service, can't fault the young chap behind the counter who was polite. An older chap, I presume to be Andrew, was taking telephone orders. Chippy was clean and tidy with a modern feel.We ordered a large cod (took the medium cod as were told there was a wait to have the large cod cooked), medium chips and a battered sausage.Arrived home 5mins later looking forward to our fish supper! Terrible mistake!!!The chips were stale...dry and hard ! The battered sausage had to be thrown away as my husband could not cut through the batter with his knife as it was so hard! The fish was a decent chunk but was completely let down by the soggy batter (did not ask for vinegar on the cod if that's why you're thinking the batter was soggy)!!!We will definitely NOT be venturing there again.Gerrards Cross needs a better fish and chip establishment!!! Do not waste your money at Andrews Place!!!

We always have Fish and Chips on fridays... these are Nice enough, rather pricey for not great chips really. Fish was ok but have had much better.

This is the second time I have been here and the quality and portion sizes are excellent.The staff enjoy their job and are very efficient. You often have to wait for 10 mins + esp for Plaice as it is busy and the variety of orders is quite surprising. You can eat in or take away. The premises are very clean and you can watch the chef cooking while you wait.

Large cod and chips just amazing. A challenge to finish and this time no exception. Suggest you phone ahead if you want large outside of Fridays. On Fridays expect a short wait to pickup. They are always very busy.

Let's face it, Gerrards Cross is probably the last place you'd think of for a portion of good ol' fish and chips, especially with its abundance of fine dining, an array of excellent Italian, Indian and Mediterranean restaurants. However, Andrew's Place is a real gem offering traditional fish & chips...but is it all it's cracked up to be?GOOD: The test of a good take away restaurant is its popularity and when ever I've driven past or gone in, there is usually a cue of discerning guests eager to bring home the bacon, sorry I meant fish!! It's unlike other 'chippies' because you don't walk out smelling of fried food...thank g-d. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. You have the choice of getting your fish (usually cod or plaice) made from scratch or straight from the counter. The chips are to die for...of course in a good way. Not too greasy and the perfect shape and size. It's definitely up there with Nautilus Fish Restaurant in London, famous for its quality. BAD: Little to critic about Andrew's but if you get there too late, just before 9pm, you may miss out. I appreciate that most of us eat well before 9 but if your schedule is not so perfect, make sure you aim to arrive by 8.45.£ - Price wise, you can expect to pay £1.80 for a small portion of chips and £2.70 for a large. Fish is offered with a choice of medium and large where you can expect to pay between £5-7 per portion. It's not cheap but definitely worth every penny!

We are fairly frequent users of Andy's fish and chip shop. Always well prepared and cooked fish and masses of chips. Over the phone orders help avoid the usual queue on on a Friday night. Staff young and friendly. Well done to all. A good job.

Have had a bad experience here on a few occasions now always hoping things would get better but they don't! The chips here are always stale and reheated. I have even asked for a fresch batch and was given dirty looks and told ''nothing is old here mate''! When told they don't like it and Andrew the owner said "you obviously have something wrong with your taste buds mate as everyone else loves our chips'' Urm, OK then I'll rather drive 2 miles up the road and get my chips from The Old Town Frier in Beaconsfield who are fantastic and I urge everyone in Gerrards Cross to give them a go and see the difference yourself! To see how cocky the management here are just wait for their response to this review and also read up the responses to their older ''not so nice'' reviews and you shall see what I mean. Having the only chip shop in Gerrards Cross seems to be getting to their head. I can't wait for someone to open up and give them a run for their money...in fact I'm tempted to invest the money and get someone to run it for me - would teach them a thing or two about customer satisfaction.

Great fish and chips and as the title suggests gluten free is also available. Phone ahead as not available every night. The batter is delicious!

I've tried Andrew's Place quite a few times in the desperate hope that it will get better. Sadly, it doesn't. Gerrards Cross is crying out for a good chippy and it is just so disappointing that this place is so average (if not poor). Everything is greasy as though the fat hasn't been heated enough and quite tasteless. It's so overpriced for the quality you get.You really would have thought they'd try harder than Puka Pies and dodgy burgers as alternatives to fish and chips too.
