I wish I read the reviews before ordering, the food taste funny the fish taste old and disgusting

I just got take away and honestly i’ve never been so disappointed. Got a tower burger meal which is a chicken burger with a hash brown, chips and a drink. The burger was wrong and was the driest bit of chicken with no hash brown and the chips didn’t have any salt or vinegar despite me putting that i wanted both. I don’t know how you can just g wet those things wrong but there you go.

In all the years I've bought fish & chips. I've never had chips on fish. The fish was stuck to the box; got to downmark that. Chips were medioca. The curry sauce, one chip dipped and chuck. Piss pour. Get a new supplier. I won't be returning, unfortunately. I'd rather pay couple quid more and have it down my local pub.

I had a medium fish which was a good sized portion and a large portion of chips which was enough for two people, the food was hot and very tasty, I would recommend! 👌

Food was really good and not greasy. Portions were nicely sized and the fish was cooked really well.

An item was missed from the delivery which is quite a common occurrence! Called the shop and was told they would send another item within 20 minutes. 40 minutes later my partner called and asked to speak to a manager and half way through the call the staff member put the phone down! Called again, spoke to a manager who apologised but was no help at all! We won't be ordering from there again!

Ordered on Uber Eats today and the worst chippy I’ve had by quite some way. - Chips were limp and sad. - Masala fish was soggy, tasteless and without even a hint of crispy batter, just a soggy mess. - Chicken Wings were actually quite nice, probably the only thing I enjoyed. - Sausage was old and likely had been sitting out for a long time. - Curry sauce was disgusting, bitter and inedible. - Review left by my partner was dismissed and labelled ‘fake‘. If you’re unwilling to address issues raised by customers, then you’re quite simply living in delusion. Hope you turn it around.

Nice fish and chips £11 for mediun meal for 1

Food was lovely, arrived earlier than estimated, all in all a great meal.

Offer 4 states bottle of drink you only get a can. Difficult staff. Garlic bread is rank. Didn't ask if I wanted chicken or shish .Different prices on different menus. General mess. Shame as pizzas ok.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome. This is the best fish and chips place in Beaconsfield! Prices are reasonable and I would definitely recommend the grilled wings which are full of flavour! Pleasantly suprised and this will be a go to.

Large cod and regular chips and it was ok at best, cod still had the skin on and whilst it was long it was very thin, the chips were flavorless. I wouldn’t go back.

I don’t normally leave reviews even with bad orders but felt like I had to because food was DISGUSTING 🤢 saveloy was brown inside and well over cooked went in the bin, chicken burger bun we actually knocked on it - it was rock hard, that went in the bin. Chips were stale and tasted undercooked? and on top of it all we had to call and chase the order because it was 45mins late! Expected better from a chip shop based in Beaconsfield, won’t be ordering from here again.

Chip portion size seems to shrink every few months. The pickled gherkins are not pickled. This used to be one of my favourite chip shops but since trying to do more food choices the fish and chips quality have slipped.

Fantastic service. The food is fantastic. I only wish they would takeaway the large delivery charges. Apparently you have to spend £20 then it’s another £2.50 on top. Fair enough, I don’t live far from them, but I am disabled.

Food was cold when it arrived as arrived 20 minutes later than latest delivery time quoted. I called the shop 19.13 to be told it would be with me in a couple of minutes ! I do not expect to pay £32.48 for cold food. If I had wanted to put food in my oven this evening I wouldn’t have bothered ordering from you. I am very disappointed with the quality of the food as it was so cold it needed to be reheated and it did not regret well at all, most of it went in the bin ! Please provide a refund for this awful food, which I believe to be Just Eats fault as usually food from your shop is of good quality.

Usually pretty good from here but today was a disaster. Half the chips were burnt with lots of black bits like they’d been scraped from the bottom of a fryer. Fish was tiny and both the fish and chips looked like they’d been cooked a very long time ago. Sausages were ok but the curry sauce was absolutely vile, very dark and watery and overly spicy. Perhaps made differently this time as it’s usually ok from here, but completely inedible today. Perhaps it’s because we ordered mid afternoon when it’s probably not busy. If we didn’t have hungry kids at home we would have refused it but they ate some of the sausage and a few chips. Hoping it’s just a bad day for them as we like ordering from here but this was a big miss today and def not worth the money spent. A real shame.

Every time we have ordered from this restaurant the delivery has been late including once it was over 1 hour late

Love the service from just eat it's always on time and a big thank you for my five pounds discount that was nice has I'm a OAP and i can't get out to much so a big thank you again just eat.🙂

0 stars, I had the rock because it said "fresh today", the worst piece of fish I've ever been served in my life I tasted it and spat it out smelled horrible I gave it all to the seagulls! Most of the reviews for this place are dreadful and most of the Answers from the establishment are ridiculous. There is not an easy way to reply to a reply, I think that Google need to change this. If people are going to the trouble of leaving a review they should have the facility to reply to the reply.

Absolutely perfect. Delicious fish - very light. Chips delicious, big and chunky. Delivery guy a star.

I always feel sad to write a one star review as it’s people’s livelihoods but….they also need to know. Having used the ‘Friar’ many times in previous visits over the years and had reasonable fish and chips this was a real disappointment. Stopped for a lunch. The fish batter was wet inside, almost slimy. The oil can’t have been hot enough or food in for long enough. The chips were pale and limp with no taste. Having eaten a range of fish and chips from brilliant to poor this is the first time we have not even finished half the food. We didn’t bother returning to complain as we had a timetable to keep to. The bottles inside the fridge on a shelf were all leaning over and not tidy. Whilst 2 portions of fish and chips was £21.98 which I don’t mind paying if it was good and enjoyable Really need to learn how to cook fish and chips properly if the current owners want to continue. Would not recommend and will not be back.

Unfortunately, the chips had not been freshly cooked & almost unpalatable. The fish was freshly cooked.

Very nice quality i enjoyed it and so filling and the delivery person was so perlight and got a £5-00 discount which was very nice thank you so much just eat.

Food was lovely and arrived approximately 15 mins before said delivery time. I ordered a GF cod and chips with salt and vinegar. The lovely staff noticed that there vinegar contained gluten so didn’t put any on. This attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Will 100% order again

Gluten free cod not labelled at all! With a severe intolerance this could have caused me a lot of problems. Very disappointing, no way to tell the GF from the regular…….. had to get someone to taste test both for me, not very happy

Me and my friends from Amersham decided to go here after the 7-0 beating of Man Utd. Food was Awesome, great curry and chilly sauce. Masala Fish Pies Chips Samosas Thank You! i will definitely be back.

45 mins late. Called 3 times and each time was told each time it was on its way. The Friar is 5 mins away from us so not sure where it actually came from. Item was missing. They delivered it 20 mins later (so over an hour from the agreed delivery time) with cheese cake to say sorry and the chap was nice. When you are feeding people with complex needs, late / cold food turns the whole experience in to a headache. I wish we hadn’t bothered. My fault for ordering from them twice though, as they were 45 mins late previously too.

Food was average and only warm on arrival but has been good in the past. When we called to enquire about late delivery, whoever answered the phone didn't seem to care or apologize.

Ordered delivery for dinner, their fried popcorn chicken was amazing, chips fresh and tasty. Haddock piece was big and perfectly cooked, batter crispy just what was needed after a long day out. Living in Gerrards Cross this chippie is life saver, best one in bucks and only 30 minutes till my food came. Love it

Thank you very much.the best fish and chips. I did left a note for the shop to try deliver it hot as the last time it was slightly cold. However… very silly of me to write that. Previously I thought that it was a local shop. But it’s not. Considering that the shop is quite a drive away from my house I feel embarrassed for my comment. They made an effort to drive all this way to deliver therefore I do apologise for that. We also received some extra treats. And all our fish was large. It was nice and hot. The fish shop makes a big effort to keep the customers happy. Thank you for the lovely food. And sorry for my stupid comment. Will definitely keep ordering again.

Wonderful food however they forgot to deliver curry sauce. Hope this don't happen again. Phoned Ahmed and he was very polite so fingers crossed next time.

To be honest I don’t understand the bad reviews? I received my order and everything was delicious! The amount of food delivered was enormous and I shared it with my neighbor’s. I’ve got lots of spare to eat tomorrow too. If you put a bad review on then you must say that it was so bad that you never ate it???? I bet you did eat it! It was a 3/4 stars for me. I’ve given 4 as pleasantly surprised. Especially after reading the reviews I was expecting the fish and chips to be a disaster. Ordered 3 portions and all three of us have said it was good. Cooked well, tasty and not overly greasy. The Panjabi folk are running the place now (not sure who was in the past but the kebab and appear to be doing well. It was a Friday and fairly busy so things were going to be fresh. Good customer service from the young chap. Well done. Shukria

Food arrived late and cold. I got a message from the restaurant an hour after the food was delivered to tell me it was on its way! Bad communication, but I think they were very busy. Also quality not as good as previous orders

Food was awful. The chips were rock hard and weren't cooked properly. Called them and the sent another portion of chips out which were exactly the same, werent cooked properly and were hard.

Curry sauce was wayyyyy too spicy. Chips were a little chewy and hard but could be down to potato type. Fish was lovely

It was the worst experience I have had in my life, they kept saying it was on its way and I had an option to ask for a discount or refund and it clearly said it wouldn’t cancel the food picking the option, I’m still waiting and waiting and it’s says it will be here and I called them and they said it was cancelled when I never cancelled the order. Don’t order from here

Food is not nice, the skin is left on the fish (yuk) and no salt or vinegar on chips when asked for this. Will not order again!!

Pizza was okay. Ordered 10 chicken strips with chips and ended up with a chicken wrap? Food was half hour late. Won't be back.
