So good we ate here two nights in a row. Generous portions of perfectly cooked seafood. I particularly enjoyed the tender octopus tentacles with a side of garlic butter that came with grilled veggies and potatoes. With a nice glass of white wine available from the adjoining bar it made a wonderful meal. The sweet chili prawns were also wonderful.

Had the following at Amesbury chippy Large cod 10/10 Medium chips 10/10 Large battered sausage 10/10 Jalapeño poppers 3/10 Chicken nuggets 0/10 Fish was lovely really good batter made fresh and could not fault, same with chips. The chicken nuggets were horrendous. Extremely cheap nugget and to be honest it’s insulting they even serve them as they were horrific. Real shame as the fish and chips were amazing. I would recommend changing your supplier for those nuggets as they are a huge let down to what was a lovely dinner. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming

Absolutely delicious fish, pies and chips. Haven't tried the sausages but they look amazing. My plaice tasted like it had been caught that day, you could actually taste the fish despite the batter, which was light and crunchy. The steak and kidney pie was gorgeous, with lovely pastry. Generous portions of tasty chips, with enough left over, even from a single portion, to provide next day's supper. Staff really friendly and polite too.

Would you have given these 0 stars if possible, first time I went there the fish were undercooked and asked if he could fry them a bit more bit he refused, second time I went there online it advertised they were open I went in and asked if I could get a portion of chips but the first thing the man did was to command me to the front door and demanded I looked at the front door. This was a bad experience as I was only 12 at the time

Evening meal treats once a month, it is expensive here, Gone are the days of a fish n chip supper for under £5. For two large dinners, it will cost £20+ Standard is excellent and freshly cooked, so be prepared to wait for it. Queues can be long, so go at a time it will be quieter, like a later tea time, 7 pm instead of 6 pm. The staff are very friendly

Portions are generous, 5 of us shared 2 large & 1 small cod & chips & there were masses of chips left over. Ordered over the phone, so didn’t wait long. We all really enjoyed it, crisp batter, fresh perfectly cooked fish & tasty chips. As expected prices have increased but it was worth it. I will use Harley’s again, but confused as it says Stoby’s on the door

So we moved to Paxcroft Mead about a year and a half ago, couldnt believe how lucky we were, Robinsons Traditional served great fish & Chips, we went there pretty much every week. Sadly over the last 6 or 7 months, the quality of the food has deteriorated. The fish is now either over cooked or not fresh any more, instead of nice flakes, it just crumbles and is tasteless. The chips never taste fresh any more, they are not crispy, they are soggy with hard bits on the outside, just like you would expect chips that are 2 days old that have been kept warm would taste like. The last 4 or 5 times have been very disappointing and quite frankly a waste of money. Gave them their last chance tonight 24/08/24, sadly no better so will now look for an alternative fish & chip shop and will not return to Robinsons Traditional.
