Worst slice to ever get fish and chips or any Chinese complete rubbish service do not get food here it’s poor you have been warned

Excellent chippy, really nice chips and good curry sauce. Often very busy but staff are polite and efficient.

On a welding job in Salisbury ( what a beautiful city a must visit ) found the classic fish bar , highly recommend fresh as & steaming hot , best value chip buttie £2.90 , down south everything is more expensive , chip portions are huge so be careful , here are pis of menu 😋

The food was delicious and made fresh to order, so there was a little bit of a wait as it was a busy Saturday night. The food was reasonably priced and the children’s meals were a good deal. The large chips were plenty for two adults. Would recommend to others.

Worst fish & chips I ever eaten would go back. Very greasy oil just poured out of the batter when cutting. 1 X small fish & chips.

Fish didn’t taste of much, large chips were not large, the server ran out of chips half way through our portion but just stopped there anyway and didn’t wait for more to be cooked. We’d heard good things but were not impressed unfortunately.

The chips were not up to standard and the quality tends to be variable. Waited for over 20 minutes for medium chips and they were below the usual standard

Best fish and chips around Salisbury in my opinion. Very popular as always people queuing. We have been a number of times and no where else comes close.

I write this article in Chinese because I was told that the owner does not speak English and would not talk to me. We ordered food before Christmas and when we got home half the order was missing. We complained to Tristan and he was rude to us but said we could come back next time and they would give us food. I called and found out he lied and no one responded but sorry there is nothing we can do. Stealing my money is one thing, but the owner can't answer the phone and the kids on the phone can't do anything because they're still kids. You may want to look into this.

I am devastated that what I considered to be my No.1 chippy in Salisbury, has become one do the worst. You could always rely on the fish being cooked fresh and the chips being nice and hot everytime! NOT ANYMORE THOUGH!!! Firstly your greeted by 2 miserable teenagers, who have clearly been told to go out and get there first job instead of sitting at home and playing tiktok!!! They have not got a clue!!!! And can’t even take a simple order when there one person in the shop without getting it wrong. Perhaps should spend last time on there phones, learn to smile, and generally get some lessons in how to communicate with people!!! It’s a horrendous advertisement for what used to be Salisbury’s no.1 chippy!!!! Portion sizes were all I’ve the place! And It would seem you’re pretty much given what ever is in the heat draw at the time!!!! Because I can honestly say there was no difference between small and large cod on the cast offs that we received. Chips were cold, maybe this is because, the order originally got messed up, I don’t know! Either way this place needs to go back to its routes and sort it out!!! They cant even be bothered to turn the heating on in there and it’s like waiting in a freezer this time of year! No wonder food was cold

Got large fish and chips curry sauce and onion rings, all the food was very nice I feel like the fish was quite small for a large however other then that it was all lovely.

Amazing chips and fish best in Salisbury I love it I wish they would deliver tho as it’s hard for me to get there with being disabled but they are the best

Rip off place go else where in Salisbury! 2 leg fish, chips and a sauce pot = £26 !!! EXTORTIONATE Dont be fooled did a test and same fish size regardless of sml md lrg the only difference is the price. £6 small fish exactly the same size as £10 large fish!

Didn’t get my complete order, only checked the bag when I got home my chips were missing. Not the first time this sort of thing has happened. When they get it right food tastes alright but they’re scammers when they can be

Be warned they'll charge you for your food but not actually supply it. After placing our order we returned home ready to eat it and the fish was not included.

The last 3 or 4 times I've been to classic fish bar has been absolutely fantastic and I tell all my family and friends about them , however tonight I ordered 4 battered sausages and 1 large chips and 1 small chips ,and I'm sorry chips well under cooked and soggy and the battered sausages tasted like the oil hasn't been changed for weeks ! I'm well disappointed as I hosted a little get together and was really praising classic fish bar to all who came only to be very disappointed I feel its due to a very inexperienced young team behind the counter !

We are staying at a caravan site locally and found this chip shop locally to us. Excellent service. Food was amazing and prices reasonable. We will definatly be back.

Went for a Cod & Chips for the first time in a long time ,"WHAT A RIP OFF!!!" Fish & Chips and a curry sauce £15! If they think hiking their prices up that much is a good idea they need a lesson in common sense and business management! The LARGE Cod was a minnow , the batter not traditional chip shop batter and piling on a ton of not cheap as chips chips at £3.80 added insult to injury! We were regular users but ,have been away for some months we will never use them again!!

We used classic fish bar early Friday evening for supper. The fish was crisp and succulent and the chips were the best

Really good food, well priced, menu is quite small however, there's a few fish and chip shop treats I'd usually have that aren't on the menu, but the core chippy items are still there.

Worse fish and chips ever tonight. Greesey horrible cardboard batter, my mate had sausage and chips and it's just made him throw up!!! Awful what more can i say!

Bought food for my children, which they enjoyed very much indeed.

Went for our usual fish and chips for 5 people and the prices have not only gone up a little like most other but its now too expensive and actually cheaper to eat at a restaurant in town so we did that and saved quite a bit .sadly another long time customer lost here

Very slow service of 20-25 minute wait. I found cod super greasy. They gave me a cold battered Mars bar, which was disgusting. I expect more.

Ordered medium chips and pea fritter. Loads of nice chips but the pea fritter was a squashed disc that needed more batter.

Huge portion. Large chips more than enough for two persons. Large fish was massive.

Be very careful! I ordered Hong Kong style duck egg fried rice and salt and pepper chips. I think I contracted food poisoning as I was sick on 3 separate occasions later that night/ early morning. After spending over £15 on this food I would not suggest anyone go here unless you want to spend the next few days ill. I will be going further with this.

Got 15 people staying overnight, all hungry, this place will not deliver, such a shame, order would have been in excess of £120. Going to the Japanese restaurant next door, at least they deliver

Really really really good chip shop. If you live locally they will even deliver your food for you. Great service.

Excellent fish and chips, but sometimes a long wait to be served. Beware car park is always full, very hard to park the car.

I am not normally one to leave reviews, but unfortunately i am on this one. I recently went for fish and chips later on in the evening, I am not local, and i had heard good things from family in the area about this chip shop, chips were ok - nothing exciting, very pale looking, could of been cooked longer. good portion size. Fish - again good portion size, although i ordered multiple peices of fish they were all placed into one wrapper and when i opened them up, the oil/grease which had gone through was unbelievable. I believe the fish was taken straight from the fryer and placed straight into the wrapper, this should of been drained off, there must of been a good half litre of it (maybe not quite that much but certainly seemed like it) there was that much it had leaked onto the carpet in vehicle. I had high hopes when visiting, unfortunately I wasnt impressed. price, from my home area i can get three large fish and chips for around £20, here i paid over £30. I did eat some and left me feeling sick. Not sure if i would visit again. Unfortunately i didnt get any photos to add, otherwise i would have posted those as well. Maybe there are some things that can be taken on board from this, cook chips longer not serve anemic chips, fish needs to be cooked/drained and not served with a side of oil.

Huge amount of chips and the biggest piece of battered fish I've ever seen, lovely mushy peas, a bit greasy tonight but usually really nice, make sure you have a fork as the wooden forks are the smallest I've ever seen

Portions are huge but it's not worth for money, cause food are horrible...chips are soggy and fish swimming in the oil.

Reasonable fish and chips but nothing special. Portions are generous and good value. One large chips feeds three adults snd a large cod is good for two.They are currently busy in lockdown so phoning ahead is s good plan, queueing outside is safe, socially distanced and well organised.

Good fish and chips, huge portions! Would recommend only one serving of chips for 2 people! Fish is good, not greasy. The battered sausages are also very good. Only thing I would love is for halloumi to be added to the menu!

I don’t often post poor reviews but the 2 portions of cod and chips we’ve just had from here are possibly the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. The fish was chewy, tasteless and soggy, and the chips looked like they had been soaked in tepid oil; no crunchy edges and with oil dripping from them. Sorry for the poor review but the food was awful.

I ordered deeply disappointing cod and chips that featured soggy batter that stuck to the wrapping and came away from the fish in one sloppy bit. I ended up chucking a lot of it in the bin!
