The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Plymouth South West

Came by this evening in search of supper. Fish Lounge including its off sales counter has been renamed as Ocean Lounge Some tables laid but not open to the public on this Thursday in mid June 2022.

Food was really good…… Just read that chef Lee Holland passed away in November and the restaurant has now closed. May he rest in Peace.

Called to check allergens before ordering and didn’t have a very good connection so was struggling to hear but thought they’d said all was ok so I put through my order, within minutes they called back to make absolutely certain that I knew the order did actually have the allergen I was worried about in it so I had the chance to cancel and avoid a really bad experience. Massively appreciate their proactive customer service and would recommend!

Best Thai food in Plymouth, and I've tried nearly all of them. Absolutely delicious authentic tasting Thai food (and I've been to Thailand). Loads of gluten free options too. Will be coming back for definite. Lovely staff too!

One of the best fish and chips shops in Plymouth! Been coming here since about 2010 and moved away for a few years and recently started coming here again and it's as good as I remembered! Always lovely staff and food is fab!

The BEST hand picked crab plymouth! Locally caught and run by a family!! Highly recommend getting white meat on brown bread, little bit of salt and vinegar ! So tasty!!

We were recommended this little restaurant and made our way there on a quiet Monday lunch without pre-booking. The restaurant was quiet and the waitress was very welcoming. The service was impeccable and with a smile. We had the scallops, mussels, Dover sole, lobster, prawns risotto and calamari: all fresh & perfectly cooked. The meal was washed down with a bottle of Bollinger which complemented the delicious seafood.

Very good food, bad service and unclean toilets. Visited here in August 2024 with family. Food was very good, however when the chefs cooked our food and placed it on the service area (under warming lights) they rang the bell multiple times and none of the service staff collected it (a lot of service staff were around the corner chatting amongst themselves instead of working). So we had to inform the service staff that the food was waiting and getting cold. That said though, the food was really good just slightly under temperature. The location and décor of the place was brilliant. But the toilets were not clean, I was informed by the females I was eating with that the sanitary bin in the female toilets were overflowing. There was enough service staff to keep on top of basic service and cleaning; the eating area was clean though. The very good food was let down by the service staff.

The hake and haddock were delicious, all the staff were very friendly and accommdating to our 1-year-old baby and even bought her some extra garden peas as she loved them so much. Nicola in particular was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a delicious meal, we would definitely recommend.

This is the best chippy in Plymouh by a mile. Located right on Plympton Ridgeway with easy parking. The portion sizes are very good, and everything is cooked to order. OAP/ KIDS meals come with a free can of pop. Everyone seems to order these even for a standard adult because the portion size is good. The staff are always friendly, but they always seem to have a very young school-age teenager taking orders. That's fine, but they are always glum and miserable, and they don't listen properly, and you constantly have to repeat even the smallest of orders. I regularly get 2 OAP meals, chicken chunks, and battered sausage both with chips, naturally. You still have to repeat yourself as they don't listen. Cheap labour, I suspect. The one thing it does lack is a seated in restaurant. Everyone I speak to says it would be well used given its location and footfall. The premises next door is empty and they should take that opportunity to expand their extremely popular business.

Been visiting Whitleigh chippy for many years and never been disappointed. Good value and curry sauce to die for. Edwin and team can't be beaten in my opinion.
