Cornwall Street Fish Bar in Plymouth

Favourite dish ever now is their pulled pork with nacho cheese sauce on chips, best chips ever all perfect as don't like the crispy bits & there's non. Kids said have recently taken milkshakes off the menu 🤞🤞 they bring them back, don't know if still serve in shop. UPDATE: Sad can't get loaded pulled pork (no other dish anywhere can come close for me) on delivery (delivery my only option) anymore, please! can you bring it back, if unable for some reason, then either pulled chicken same sauce or the sauce with unbattered chicken strips.

I came here for the first time 2 years ago and it was delicious. Came again today and it's just as good! Made this my stop before boarding the ferry to France. Thank you for the excellent meal and the friendly service!

Completely ignored my request for ketchup and there is no option to add ketchup on the order page

Amazing! Our first time eating in the restaurant as the takeaways have always been incredible. Staff are so lovely, warm and welcoming. Food arrived quick and delicious! Curry sauce is the best I’ve had and the portion sizes are perfect. Kids meals are really reasonable for the portion you get and it’s never too greasy and tastes like the oil is cleaned regularly!

Arrived on time, was lovely and hot. Good portion sizes. Fish was lovely. Was worth the price. Would order again.

ordered 2large cod , and they were large , lovely crispy batter excellent quality fish , also had the large chips , arrived piping hot , would definitely recommend

I've been going here for over 20 years now. When I first went it was really good. Then it dropped off to not very good and I didn't go for a couple of years. Then I tried it again and it was very good. However last Tuesday when I went it wasn't just not very good, it was dreadful! I mean one of the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The batter on the fish tasted horrible and was greasy, the fish inside was dry, the chips were mostly small and hard and the mushy peas were watery and insipid with no tasted at all. I'll be giving it a miss from now on for a very long time.

The fish is top quality with a crispy batter. Keep ordering it.

Really tasty, good curry sauce. Only thing I’ll criticise is I personally don’t like the little crunchy chips left at the end.

Visited on a Monday at around 7.30pm, it was crazy busy with delivery drivers - every minute another one arrived. I ordered takeaway fish and chips which did take a while but the service was efficient and price very good. Large chips was a generous portion. The food was excellent, nicely battered fish and the chips were very nice as well. It's probably better to order online rather than turn up as I did.

Don't be fooled by the pictures and great reviews Ordered last night on Uber Eats and was really disappointed Large chips that were barely a standard portion. The chips were all very small and bitty and extremely greasy mainly due to the fish being placed on top of the chips so all the grease from the fish(extremely greasy) soaked onto them. How hard is it to wrap the fish separately ? The fish tasted fine but batter wasnt crispy just full of grease Very disappointed will not be returning!

The fish was great as were the battered Sausage and Nuggets. But the chips were not very warm and were very bitty. Not many full size chips. As always great delivery experience

food was a little greasy, so had to take the batter off the fish. wish you would do a small chips because the regular chips are too much and at least half get thrown away. why is the map no longer working?

First time using this fish bar and we will definitely use again.The batter was crispy.Fish was well cooked.The chips were not greasy at all and none of those little crispy bits which I usually push to the side of my plate.So it was lovely to actually eat a full portion.We ordered through just eat and the service was very prompt.We thoroughly enjoyed it.Thankyou for a fab meal.

Food was marked as delivered, but I received nothing yet again! What annoys me is the refund you get doesn't include the delivery fee, so regardless you end up paying over the odds.

Excellent food, very helpful staff members and all at reasonable rates. I shall return. I've actually been there today and would upgrade my stars to six if that were possible. Well done all of you.

For the price and the longevity of this business I was expecting decent food. Fish was okay but the chips were clearly old, some burned, some green, some shrivelled and clearly frozen. Courier was cute and fast delivery but I’d rather spend less and wait longer for food that’s not going in the bin

We were missing the main part of our order, large cod. Everything else was there and tastes great but it seems to be a regular occurrence that items are missing

Piping hot on delivery, lovely fish and chips.

Went in and told the member of staff I wanted to eat in. He told me to take a seat. I waited a while and no one came to serve me so I went to the counter and ordered the food as the supposed server was no where to be seen. Had large fish and chips and tartar sauce. Fish was very thin and quite tasteless and it cost £9.00 just for the fish! Tartar sauce was out of a packet and was horrible. When I paid my bill the server asked me if I enjoyed the food and I told her that it was OK, average and that the tartar sauce wasn't nice. She didn't react to what I said as she obviously wasn't interested. They are concentrated on the Just Eat etc orders as many came in whilst I was there to pick up food. I would not recommend and I won't be returning

Wow, my first visit today, the best fish & chips I've ever had, and I've been around a while! The fish was so white and fresh, the batter was so crispy, I couldn't finish mine, so the portion size was good too. My friends are regulars and always enjoy theirs. I will definitely be back.

The food is always lovely, absolutely no complaints there, however our last two orders were incorrect. Last week we didnt get cheese on our chips and we received curry sauce instead of gravy. This evening we only received one portion of chips instead of two. A little more attention to packing the order and it would be 5 stars

Since discovering this place a few months ago we have now visited several times and every time the food has been flawless, both the fish and the chips are cooked to perfection, crispy and fluffy chips and the freshest fish with the best crispy batter, the service is really good too.

Food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly. Had to wait a short while for food as it was early evening on a friday and busy, but worth the wait.

The delivery was delivered without a can of coke. Having phoned the restaurant and confirmation the can had been picked up by the courier, therefore a refund would be grateful. Not happy courier bueves he is entitled to it

Fish was great crispy batter curry sauce and peas had a great flavour, let down by the chips to many small bits and over cooked, tasted as if they had been reheated.

Looks run down, nothing like pictures online. Dirty inside. Staff were only interested in all the deliveroo drivers who kept cutting in front of us in the queue. Ended up not bothering to order food and ate elsewhere.

What a delicious fish and chips we had with our school French students ! The staff was so kind, available and efficient. And dance time at the end of our meal was just outstanding !!! We'll come back with pleasure !!!

My mother has been here a few times,so thought we would give it a go. I have to say they were the best Fish and Chips. Great chips,light crispy batter around a tasty piece if Fish. Pensioners meal,under £10. Five stars

Fabulous food great service lovely staff . Waitress Kristine was especially helpful and so friendly put me at ease as I was on my own. Definitely a place you will want to visit again and again. I went twice in one week! All food cooked to order.

The chips was soaked with oil,the lady that serve me was ok..the fish has a very wired teast.read the manu carefully before you buy!!! There are minor scams in the food manu just be extra careful.in all is rip off.advice you not to go there. I had a food poisoning.i have been sick in my van from Plymouth to London ffs.

Shouldn't have been surprised, unfortunately the plaice has sold out on my last visit but the chef recommended haddock, which was just as delicious. He presented it in helping me decide and I was impressed seeing it was fresh, and not frozen. Partly why it's so good here? Has to be the best fish and chips in Plymouth as all the orders going out whilst I waited showed.

Very warm welcome when entering from the waitress, found a table, ordering was quick & very easy from the waitress🥰. Best fish & chips I've had for a long time,batter was very light & fluffy,fish was fresh & it was proper chip shop chips🙏🏻. Very clean & tidy, atmosphere was lovely, would highly recommend, will definitely be going when I find time. I've just moved to the area & this place will be my go to favour ❤️.

I like Cornwall street fish bar and have ordered many times before, on this occasion it was cold, the fish batter was soggy the chips were cold, and it was really late. So not happy

Order took two hours and a phone call asking where it was ,we were reassured the food would be freshly cooked but when it eventually arrived it was stone cold . Really nice people, had a scampi and chips. Scampi was full of flavour which is not always the case. Had some not long before that was bland.

Lovely haddock and plenty of chips for a medium portion. Nice and hot too.
