We were recommended this little restaurant and made our way there on a quiet Monday lunch without pre-booking. The restaurant was quiet and the waitress was very welcoming. The service was impeccable and with a smile. We had the scallops, mussels, Dover sole, lobster, prawns risotto and calamari: all fresh & perfectly cooked. The meal was washed down with a bottle of Bollinger which complemented the delicious seafood.

Food was really amazing, so fresh and customised to suite diet requirements. Service was faultless and Chelsea is a credit to the restaurant. Will definitely be in again ☺️

We were just looking for somewhere to grab lunch but this was truly something really special: the fish was wonderfully fresh, the batter was light and crisp and the chips seemed fresh cut. Everything was impressively tasty and we wouldn't hesitate to go back when we're in the area. Wholeheartedly recommended.

The Fish Lounge is a new start up one street back from the waterfront at The Barbican, Plymouth. I had fresh haddock cooked beautifully in thin batter and fresh cooked chips cooked perfectly. Start up price of £6 to take away or eat outside was half the price in the restaurant. Really well cooked fresh fish and chips at a great price. Must try.

31 Waterloo StreetOne of the best fish and chips shops in Plymouth! Been coming here since about 2010 and moved away for a few years and recently started coming here again and it's as good as I remembered! Always lovely staff and food is fab!

21 The BarbicanVery good food, bad service and unclean toilets. Visited here in August 2024 with family. Food was very good, however when the chefs cooked our food and placed it on the service area (under warming lights) they rang the bell multiple times and none of the service staff collected it (a lot of service staff were around the corner chatting amongst themselves instead of working). So we had to inform the service staff that the food was waiting and getting cold. That said though, the food was really good just slightly under temperature. The location and décor of the place was brilliant. But the toilets were not clean, I was informed by the females I was eating with that the sanitary bin in the female toilets were overflowing. There was enough service staff to keep on top of basic service and cleaning; the eating area was clean though. The very good food was let down by the service staff.
