Awful business practice. Illegally selling food with no VAT + separate menus. Owner from up country who's obviously never ran a food establishment before - has two separate menus and won't allow you to buy a bag of chips and sit down with it. When questioned on such an illogical and backwards policy "it's just the way the owner has done it for 20 years" .... Shame, empty shop, nobody buying anything, partner and I were looking forward to a big meal, but sadly put off of this place. Owned and Ran by an Emmet. For some reason Mr Up-Country thinks it costs more to buy a bag of chips and eat it out of the bag than save the lovely staff some washing up. Great food, great staff, terrible owner and appalling, backwards management. Damn shame, this was a good chippy once upon a time. Everything in Cornwall is getting absolutely ruined by up-country hillbillies..

Sanders fish and chip shop really surprised me, all of the waitresses were above and beyond polite, attentive, personable and when the food came out, the portions were extremely generous, not to mention very fresh and tasty, also loved my laté included in the lunch deal! Plus we were given the ok to takeaway our leftovers, mum was really happy trying the senior save (60years+) for her lunch, plenty enough for another meal, just a lovely atmosphere and from my visit today I cannot wait to return. This chippy deserves 5 stars from me, it deserves more buzz, and I hope anyone will see this and give them a try 🐟❤️

Staff were welcoming and our order was taken promptly; food arrived quite quickly too. We decided to order the set lunch; we ended up having all three courses, as the portions were really rather small. I had the soup (very hot and spicy, but that was no bad thing on a cold day) followed by the courgette linguine; my companions both had the mackerel followed by the skate, which they said was very good. For dessert two of us had the burnt basque cheesecake; I had never eaten a burnt basque (!), so thought I should give it a try. Very creamy but – yes, rather burnt at the side. The third person had the cheese plate, which was almost too big. I have some slight mobility issues, but could not see a disabled toilet, so I had to descend the steep stairs which I found rather precarious. The floor at the bottom is very uneven, so beware. A good choice for a light lunch, and not too crowded.

Excellent front of house and chefs offer a good dining experience at reasonable prices . We both had scallops to start and different fish dishes as mains . Portions were small but beautifully cooked and presented . Would definitely recommend.

There are several good fish and chip shops in our area - but this one is truly outstanding! We have used the Frydays online ordering / collect service since the Covid era and never once been disappointed. The quality of the food is consistently high, always beautifully prepared. It’s the service that really stands Frydays away from the rest. The staff are universally friendly and the pick-up time for pre-orders is excellent. Tonight, they had my order on the counter while I was still climbing the steps!
