One of the best fish and chips I've been in for a long time, a definite high recommendation from me

This has been a emergency stop mid of a long journey for a quick snack. Boy I am in luck. Awesome experience. Excellent Fish with the best Torched Cheese Chips I ever had. Shop interiors are very clean and well maintained. Car park is a definite plus for this establishment. We had a take out and ate in the car before getting back on the motorway.

Ok so we are extremely glad that we tried this place! We are from Australia and the only thing I can say is “I wish we had fish and chips like this! Huge piece of fish in a yummy crispy light batter. The chips were the best I’ve had in a very long time and I’m a very fussy chip person! ! Hand cut crispy and delicious! The potato Scallops were amazing….thick piece of potato slice and a crispy thin layer of batter…usually it’s the opposite way around! So impressed. The staff were so awesome! Informative and very pleasant with a unique enthusiasm which made our experience unforgettable! Thanks to Chanel, Judy & Mia for your awesome service! You guys will be remembered for a long time!

The food was incredible. Best chippy in Somerset and we'll worth a trip out to Highbridge. Always plan a stop when I'm working locally and thank you for being so consistently brilliant.

Good food but both our haddock were a bit overcooked and dry. Nice size portions though

Good fish and chips. They offer a vegan menu too. Impressed with their melted cheese option. We visited on the eve of the England vs Spain 2024 final. Just before kick off. The staff handled all the orders and impatience very well. Note car park for patrons at the back as everywhere is double yellow lined. (Great for road sweepers!)

Phone order, still had to wait for order only to get home to wrong order, really no apology as it seems buttons too close and too many orders to deal with. Customer fault…..obviously. Note to you and staff, polite note whilst taking order it’s going to be longer than you think due to how busy you are… Not take too many orders that you can’t cope with…… Listen to customer and perhaps the word sorry may help when stating accidents do happen….. And perhaps read order to customer as picking up so you don’t get home with wrong order, it’s not what you were charged but getting order correct essential. It’s not the first time this has happened but the last, will not be coming back for poor food, poor staff and over priced inadequate food. PS Natasha’s law, best you refresh yourself with it.

Lovely food, staff are friendly and helpful. Will even take it out to you in the carpark if its been cooked from fresh so there's a wait. Highly recommend.

I have heard such good things about this fish bar but upon eating the chips they were soggy and looked sad.

Nice fish and chips, not the best I have ever had, but a good size portion and tasted nice. £13 for cod and chips and a large battered sausage.

Best chips in Burnham/Highbridge, always stop there on our way home to Dunster if we've been to North Somerset, love their fish and chips in the car, another big bonus to this chippy is their scraps

All I can say is this place is amazing went in on the off chance & was not disappointed. Staff were pleasent the portions Plentiful & cooked to order.

We wanted some chips only place open.we had a large chips at £4.50 portion size was good and chips wasn't the nicest dry & needed a drink to swallow Parking was handy

Busy when we called in, but the team were doing ok.

We came here on friday night (good fri) very very busy as they always are but that night was heaving. service was on point very friendly staff went out of there way to help. Food was fantastic!!!! Fish was the best we have ever had and the chips were perfect!! Did have to wait a little longer than usual but we dont mind the staff were rushed off there feet, but still very organised. 10/10

Great that they have a vegan menu, 3 different chip sizes is brilliant. Unfortunately we were really disappointed in the food, chips were very pale and soggy and soggy uncooked onion rings. Fishless fillet was cooked lovely golden brown, tasted great, loved the fishless fish. The spicy curry sauce has a great spice level, good amount for a large curry sauce but a bit too thick and sickly. Customer service was good, very friendly and helpful. We wouldn't visit here again for food.

One of the best if not the best fish and chips shop I ever been to. They have spacious car park, spotlessly clean inside. They take card payments. The food was fantastic. I wish we had such fish n chips shop in Huntingdon. Thank you and good luck 🙂 Vaidas

Went for supper on Thursday evening, I went in 2 people waiting before me, they were served and left before I was even asked what I would like to order (2 jumbo battered sausage 2 chips 2 curry sauce 1 musshy peas) two other people came in after me and both ordered and were served and had left before my order was done ( one ordering 6 battered regular sausages which were cooked to order), I waited approx 30 minuits for my order to be done, the service was curt and not very friendly at all, not the best experience, but I was in the vacinity and it was easier to go there than Star Bar or Brit chip's,at the time, I have used both before and always had polite and very friendly service

A little hit or miss at times, but for the majority of my visits they've been a good option. A reasonable amount of parking in their private car park is a massive plus for me. They're also happy to accept orders over the phone and will bring orders to your car if they take a significant amount of time to cook - Polite and friendly staff, definitely recommend. Edit: They've changed their "homemade" coleslaw, which is now on par with average supermarket coleslaw, but they charge £2 for a tiny portion. Massively disappointing, avoid it.

Food is always 10/10. So many options and generous portions. We don't live in Highbridge but will make the journey as it beats most other competitors. Staff are efficient friendly even when busy.

We used for 1st time about a month ago and it was excellent, crispy bstter, crispy chips. Lovely. Tonight i didnt attempt the soggy batter on the sausage, and just ate chips. Not nice. Such a shame as i previously thought best i had tasted in a long time. Maybe different cook?

5-star review for Jolly Rogers Fish Bar, Buckfastleigh On our way to Devon recently, the M5 was busy so we decided to take the A38 as a diversion. We were glad we did, as we discovered Jolly Rogers Fish Bar in Buckfastleigh. The chips were freshly cooked and delicious, and the staff were very pleasant and talkative. We had a great chat with them while we waited for our food. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Jolly Rogers Fish Bar. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good fish and chip shop in the area. 10/10

What has happened to robs fish bar, the last 2 weeks we've had over cooked fish to the extent of dark brown batter really greasy and they have no forks, staff don't seem to be bothered about serving take your money and make you wait as their shift is over and the next staff haven't arrived but the fish is cooked and ready to go. Portions are really small compared to other fish and chip shops. We will not be going back there again. Disgusting.

A week away with the family and Robs fish bar had been recommended to us. Easy to find and a good amount of parking round the rear of the building. The staff were incredibly friendly from the start as for the food it was absolutely amazing. We all had fish and chips and will definitely be returning during our week away. I would of added photos but I only thought about that after we had finished eating.

Here you get less and more expensive than what you order at many places.

Amazing Fish Chips and Mushy Peas. Batter was perfect, Fish, flaky and white. Chips were great too and travelled well as we had a takeaway. We'll packed.

Was my first visit , we both had takeaway fish and chips. The batter was excellent , crispy even when arriving back home, large flakes of white fish , mushy peas good quality , the chips were a little soft and bitty excellent portion size. The food was still hot when home. The packaging for the takeaway was of a high standard Definitely go back.

Have only had chips so far but they was really really good. 1 thing for me is the chips have to be good, even if the stuff like fish or sausages are great, if your chips are a let down I won't be back. The chips here are probably the best I've had so far with all the chip shops I've reviewed, golden, nice on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Portion size wasn't bad for the price, will have larger portion next time and something else with it. Photo then as well. Staff friendly enough, shop clean, inviting and menu clear.

Second visit in two years and nothing has changed. Soggy chips and soggy batter. Expensive indigestion and would not recommend. I will not be returning

We were truly shocked when we visited last week as we have bought fish and chips there many times before and it has been lovely but last week's fish and chips were awful. The fish was not cod I don't believe and the chips were not up to its usual standard. Very disappointing.

Purchased 2 x Fish Chips, curry sauce and Peas..Overpriced...Chips ok...Fish had soggy batter that we we're unable to eat! Not an ounce of crisp!!!! Peas definitely overpriced! Not impressed...Can't recommend..Wasted £24!!! Server also got our order wrong but we accepted that....

Order was missing food, portions very small, and pricey for what it is. £25 to feed 2 adults and 1 child, no battered cod was bought luckily!

Was visiting the area and called in for a takeout. We ordered and then returned to the car, which was parked in their private car park. The order was brought out to us. Never had this sort of service before.

Handy free car park, clean premises and friendly staff. Food wasn't worth the 20 minute wait though - underdone chips and I could hardly find the fish under the masses of batter.

Terrible wait for food even after ordering an 30 mins before hand on the phone. Ordered at 1830 to collect at 1900 for them to start cooking it at 1900 (it was x2 items so not a big order) finally left at 1930. This wouldn’t have been an issue if they’d of said sorry it’s an hour wait but they didn’t, and didn’t really have a clue what was going on in the shop.

Excellent chippy, staff are always friendly and welcoming, the place is spotless too. Chips are always excellent, the Vegan options are really good, including the homemade coleslaw and curry sauce. My family say the fish is some of the best they've had. Requested the Vegan burger without the bun on my last order and got a beautiful crispy salad in replace. If you want the Vegan chips and don't like waiting, give them a quick ring before hand and they have them ready for your time of collection.

Best chicken from a chippy you’ll ever have! We were working in the area and it’s that good we took an extra order back to Bournemouth with us!! Chips are quality as well!

Had sausage and chips which were of a good standard. Handy car park behind the chippy. Used a ticketing system which we thought was good.

Visited last night, I knew I wanted a battered burger so I asked for 2 portions of battered burger and chips. One said that will be £13.80, I said I don't think so as battered burger was roughly £2.90. I told her this so she cancelled the order and then re-did it asking me if I wanted salad and sauce. I am not very confident in saying what I want so I just said no. When I got my order I saw they'd given me 2 plain burgers on buns. Why couldn't they understand what a battered burger was? Won't go there again.

Beautifully clean, with its own car park which is important as you can't really park on the busy, road. Now onto the fodder... delicious, all fresh, generous portions and cooked to order, we couldn't have been happier with our food.

I ordered a mini cod meal and piece reg cod. I got all the way home to find curry sauce missing. Not happy. Wed 1st Feb 5ish.

The food here was really nice just a shame that the customer service didn't match it. One young girl in particular serving on the counter no manners rude abrupt. Please and thank you goes a long way sort your staff out.

Fish small and soggy, chips 2 portions very different sizes both greasy! All tasted old. Really disappointed with how much robs charge I expected better. Certainly used to be better! Will be going else where from now on.

We live in taunton but We came across this chip shop accidentally with kids moaning they were hungry on way home from Bristol. Best fish and chips for miles around. The chicken is to die for. Well worth a visit. We will certainly be going back.

This place is good but well known in the area, so often busy. There is a car park at the rear and once you have ordered they offer to bring it out to you in your car. Good portions and reasonable cost - worth a visit if you want a good meal.

Good fish and chips, sadly the quality wasn't as great as usual. The fish was not as good as usual sadly, but I'm hopeful that it was just a one off.

They have a good and varied menu, offering the less usual items such as fagots and their take on southern fried chicken (strips of chicken breast fried in a tasty coating). You get a good portion size reasonably priced.

We've only just started going to Rob's Fish Bar & we will absolutely carry on. The food is freshly cooked & gorgeous & the staff are very friendly. We tried the chicken pieces last week & we can't wait to have them again. Dipped in their mild curry sauce, oh my!! Fabulous that it opens on a Sunday, we sometimes go over to Apex Park & this is our treat on the way home.

This is still a great, bustling, local chippy , clean, great food and fresh. Can’t be beaten in my view! These have to be the best chippy for miles. Depending on the time of day you may have a wait but that’s because their so popular. Good food good price. Good staff. A must try.

Rude staff asked for 4 battered sausages But only got 2 disappointed and looks like the chips where squashed

Chips were freshly fried, crispy on the outside with delicious fluffiness in the inside. Jumbo battered sausage received a thumbs up snd ‘amazing’ from the youngest of our holiday group. 😁
