As usual The Galley provides the very best lunchtime snacks.
Tuna sweetcorn sandwich full of tuna on delicious bread. Hot mug of tea to wash it down. I took two cream teas away to eat later with my husband. Large home made scones. There is nothing in Charlestown to beat this place and the prices are so reasonable.
Try the crab sandwiches!! Fantastic
This business did not re-open in 2024. Whilst the staff and food were clearly excellent the least they could have done was close the web presence. Our stay at Beach Cove was partly based on the 100 % 5 star ratings on Hele’s Kitchen, gutted when we got here to find it shut down.
I've eating you a few times on different occasions from one to ones as well as family and small groups. Foot is always very good we particularly love the coating on the fried chicken and the chicken is always juicy never overcooked. Different varieties of burgers are always a hat as are the shakes. My kids are absolutely love the waffle fries for dessert. Services always very prompt, friendly and efficient and Kelly, I haven't forgotten that simple smile goes a very long way. Will be back for my fix
I love this cafe. As local I can vouch for the take away coffee. Best in Westward Ho! Always steaming hot and strong enough. The guy who owns it is super lovely too.
I would've attached a photo but the food didnt last long enough! Got 2 portions of dirty fries and they were delicious. 100% will be visiting again. Good customer service and quick to reply to my queries over Facebook messenger.

We spent two super evenings at the Tavistock House Hotel, the attention to detail was superb, Bradley was the most welcoming host. The breakfast was delicious and everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. The Hotel is conveniently situated within walking distance to all the restaurants, bars etc and there is even a nightclub in Tavistock if you desire! Would thoroughly recommend.
We were so looking forward to staying here again this year. We’ve stayed before on a few occasions as our parents live here and we travel from the Highlands to visit. I just wish we’d read the reviews before we booked again; we booked due to our past stays and thought it would be the same experience. Sadly not. The room was clean for sure but there is no decent breakfast, they only offer cooked options on the weekend if the chef actually shows up, the “ continental breakfast” they offer is self service dry croissants, folded pack ham with chunks of cheese in a mini fridge and a wee kettle to prepare your own coffee. Oh and a bowl of questionable fruit. The atmosphere is NIL. 3 times I spoke to them about dinner reservations and still it wasn’t booked for our family of 6 on the night. The menu is uninspiring and very little for a vegetarian diet and they ask that you preorder your meal during the day so I suspect your meal isn’t fresh at dining time and the restaurant shuts at 8pm the bar was all shut up by 9pm and the place in darkness. We cancelled our dinner reservation and ate elsewhere in Kilve.
The previous owners Carol & Julie are sorely missed and it saddens me greatly that all the years of work, love and commitment they put into making the castle of comfort the fantastic hotel it was had all gone to waste. We paid £160 B&B - vastly overpriced, no value for money just not enjoyable anymore and it stinks of fried food. There is no one to meet you, greet you. We dangled about for ages trying to check out, we could have simply walked out. Needless to say, we won’t be coming again and won’t be recommending it to others, my other family members won’t be coming back either.
Went with friends for dinner to this delightful small restaurant run by husband Jordan (the chef) and wife Kerris (the waitress). We had an excellent evening, the meal was delicious and the service efficient and friendly. Would recommend a visit.
I ordered Goulash on deliveroo about 1 year ago and the first time was very good homemade mashpotatoe and the beef goulash was very nice. After that I ordered it again and the goulash was good but they stopped doing homemade mash potatoe and they used a powder one instead very bad I though maybe they did run out that day so I tried a 3rd time and same, the beef goulash was still very good but the mash was powder. After that stopped ordering from there. Now after a long time I heard they have new owners so I just had it again and finally the mash potatoe is homemade again but not well seasoned (no salt at all guys ? potatoes love seasoning) and the portion was small, also the beef goulash is meant to be chuncks of beef slow cooked and not shreded/minced. The chicken was like so thin couldn't see it. Flavour was good overall but small portion like 2 carrots. Sorry fellas can't give more than 3 stars due to that . Paid 20 pounds and ate both dishes myself and still hungry, and no, I am not a fat bastard xD
We stayed overnight at the Full Moon Inn and what a delight it was from start to finish. From being met at the front door of the pub by the friendliest horse, to the fuss the wonderful staff made of our daughter and all the personal touches in the room; homemade cookies, snuggly hot water bottles and a stocked mini fridge. Then there was the fabulous filling meal in the pub and the wholesome breakfast in the morning. A wonderful family experience that I can wholeheartedly recommend!!!
First time we've dined here. We booked a table at short notice on Valentines day and they managed to get us in.
When we had arrived, the host informed us that they where very short staffed tonight which was absolutely fine. Working in restaurants for most of my working life, I completely understand the stresses it causes when you're in that position. Food took a while to come as the place was packed but it was definitely worth the wait!
We had the Nargis Kebab, the Lamb Passanda and the lamp special sizzler. Even though there was an expected wait on our food, the staff always made sure we had drinks and updates. It's been a long time since we have found a great place for a delicious curry.
We could hear people complaining about the wait times on food but everyone was informed at arrival that they where short of staff so it's to be expected, especially on a peak trading day!
The food was delicious and the staff where amazing. Thank you to all the staff for a special last minute valentines evening out. We are already planning our next visit, this will be our new regular :)
