Chips not great c/onion pie was OK but very dry

Called in for Fish chips and curry. Fish was absolutely tasteless and the batter overcooked, chips were fairly tasteless and very soggy, no crispness whatsoever but worst of all was the curry sauce, it was really weird tasting, like no other curry I have ever eaten and slightly “floral” with a hint of Parma violets! The curry all went in the bin as did most of the rest! I’ll have cheese on toast for supper later.

On the spur of the moment, I called in for a fish in a barm. Amazing, freshly fried piece of fish in a barm cake. Superb value Will definitely return

What a gem this little bar/restaurant is. Full of character. The veggie Scouse is so tasty and comforting. The staff are absolutely fantastic and couldn't do more for you. Highly recommend if you are visiting Liverpool - it's superb! Enjoy!

Lovely fresh hot food! I highly recommend the chicken fried rice and the potato scallops are to die for. Fast friendly service is always a bonus too! :)

I don't know what they have changed but it is awful now its that bad I was sick after eating it pls avoid

Llamé para el desayuno después de leer las críticas y básicamente desearía no haberme molestado. Tienen un cartel fuera del desayuno publicitario por £ 5. 95 . Para cuando nos llegó la factura habíamos gastado 21 libras ya que el precio no incluye una bebida (a diferencia de todos los otros cafés de la zona ) y no incluye pan o tostadas (a diferencia de todos los demás cafés de la zona ) el desayuno tradicional dice que incluye una rebanada de pan frito pero la realidad es que es media rebanada de. La comida era Luke cálido y no vale la pena el dinero en absoluto. Mi consejo es encontrar el lindale y tomar un desayuno de mejor calidad a un precio que vale la pena pagar Como probablemente adivinas no volveremos

Sadly an awful fish and chips. The cod piece was small and really thin, the fish was soggy and the breadcrumbs were near nonexistent. Chips were also soggy and the mushy peas were dry and no seasoning. I’ll always give credit where it’s due but this really was a rubbish meal sadly.

Excellent service, delicious food and spotlessly clean.The fish cakes were 1st class and the chips were cooked to perfection . Highly recommend. Thank you.

I have been to this restaurant previously and when in the area I decided to call again. Unfortunately on this occasion I was disappointed with the food. I ordered Haddock with salt and pepper chips and a coffee. The coffee was fine. The chips were dry, as though they had been in the heater some time, some were hard. The haddock was very greasy, so much so it left a thick grease lump on the paper. I couldn't eat the fish due to the greasy taste. I have given the place 2 stars, as I have previously had a good experience there. I will not be returning any time soon. Fish, chips, coffee and a water £16.45 so it's not cheap either.

Really good service and food was good at a reasonable price. Great choice of chippy as it is not too expensive and service is fast.

Had takeaway fish, chips, mushy peas and coffee. Lovely food, great portion size, tasted delicious! Lovely friendly server. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous fish and chips, curry sauce to die for, highly recommend, very reasonably priced , premises appeared very clean

First visit to Thorpeys. Let’s just say it’s traditional. Ultimately it’s all about the food & it definitely deliveries on that front. Generous portions & well cooked. Peas tasted particularly good, reminded me of my nans mushy peas… All in all, good job!
