I don't know what they have changed but it is awful now its that bad I was sick after eating it pls avoid

this was my first time with my partner and I enjoyed the meal I had and i loved the staff thank u for a lovely lunch at

Called in again after going for years, (every couple of months) or so. Have had a terrible appetite for a few weeks (not being able to taste food), got the sausage chips and gravy. I enjoyed every mouthfull, full of flavour, served by very friendly and courteous staff/owners? Will go back yet again next timeI visit Blackburn.

So where do I start I ordered a butter pie and chips and fish and chips I waited for 20 Mins initially and watched other people come and get served whilst I still waited for my order I eventually managed to catch the eye of one of the 4 people behind the counter a he asked me what I’d ordered, he didn’t seem to understand English and got someone else to serve me he also asked me what I’d ordered and also didn’t understand me and disappeared in to the back and got the woman who’d initially taken my order who also asked me again what I’d ordered I was beginning to get a bit fed up by this point and I finally saw food being packed for me after nearly 45 mins I was once agin asked what I’d ordered and they still left off the fish I was handed a bag and when I asked where the fish was the guy said it was in the bag, I disagreed and said they’d not put it in there and he mumbled it was so I got the box back out of the bag and opened it up to reveal just chips and no fish, honestly they where charging me for a fish I hadn’t been given and had the privelege of waiting for nearly an hour for that after being asked 6 times what I wanted by 5 different people I will never go in there again, it used to be a great chip shop, not any more ! The food was sadly not very good

Called in for the first time for Saturday lunch it definitely won't be the last time. Very tasty, perfectly cooked. Not greasy like some chippys. Very good reasonable priced choice on the menu. You can eat in or takeaway. Fast service of friendly staff. Was busy that goes to show how good the food is. Will definitely go again

myself and friends have eaten here on more than one occassion. The food is really nice (although i couldnt eat the whole portion of fish & chips - nothing agsinst the food i just dont eat big portions) and the service is great. would use again if in the area

Called in here with a couple of friends (who were over from Germany) and my other half. We initially ventured over to the cathedral cafe, and it was literally heaving. We were told there was an approximate half hour wait for a table, so looked at other options. We decided on 'the chippery' only by chance. First impressions from the outside, it looked somewhat cheap and cheerful, albeit a tad unusual insofar as it's matching red and white exterior and interior. But clean and rather busy (which is always a good sign) We were greeted by the owner(s) who asked if we were dining in or doing a takeaway. We informed them we were eating in. We all ordered fish chips and mushy peas. I also ordered some buttered bread and a cup of tea, as well as soft drinks for the rest. The bill was just shy of £25. The food soon arrived. The chips were tasty and very edible. The fish was delightful. It had a light batter and was of good portions. The peas were okay, but appeared to have had a touch of green colouring added to them.....tut tut. All in all, a decent Fish, chip and mushy pea lunch. We will return when in the locality.

My daughter and myself needed a spot of lunch when in Blackburn yesterday..we spotted the Chippery and decided that would be where we will go. What a delightful greeting we had from the staff in front of and behind the counter. The food was piping hot and very tasty. It was also so reasonably priced .I asked to use the wash room and that didn't let them down either. We will return. Thankyou

The chippery in Blackburn always serves beautiful fresh food with excellent menu we eat here on a regular basis and find it immaculately clean with very friendly staff wholeheartedly recommended, whether it's a omelette , fish and chips or even a jacket potato the standard is always consistently high

Just had a family lunch here...its a chip shop, so we weren't expecting gourmet, but we were still dissapointed.

Got the order wrong, sent gravy instead of curry, fish is rubbery and small portion sizes.

the food was alright, i ordered some food and not all of it came so i called the restaurant and he said he will bring it tomorrow so i was very frustrated by the extremly poor customer service and it was half an hour late!!!!

It's always be known for being basic, but at least the chips were good, but my last visit is just that because aside from being somewhere I would not want to sit in to eat, the service was miserable and the chips were so awful i threw them in the bin.

The good was good delivery was fast but some items were missing and then dropped then off fast the only thing is not good is the dab teacake taste bad and the jacket baked potatoes is not a good price as u get 1 jacket potatoe for £3 without any toppings i think u should give at least 2 jacket potatoes for £3 with at least 1 topping for these two reasons i went be buying jacket potatoes or the dab teacake otherwise its good food

The Chippery used to have an amazing delivery service with amazing food, but recently, the lettuce has been black. It's disgusting and I now feel sick.

El personal es agradable y la comida servida en alrededor de siete minutos, que está bastante bien para pedir comida. Me habría dado cinco estrellas pero no había toallas para secar las manos en el inodoro.

Solía ser un pescado decente con una venda y sentarse opción. Ahora me ofrecen pizzas, kebabs y chino, pero ninguno lo es realmente atractivo. Cuando una empresa tiene una cosa muy bien los clientes de cola, pero este no es el caso aquí. Una pena, ya que es tan central para la ciudad.

Unfortunately gone down hill ALOT. Me and my son went for a quick lunch . Waited over 20 min for our food . The portions were ok . But quality is lacking . The chips were very chewy or that hard you hurt your mouth . It was like we had the last scraps of the day . Even though it was only 12 . Then also got chicken . Which was very rubbery to . I was unable to eat it . My son struggle to . It is a real shame as it was a very good chippery a few years back .

Iv had food from here many times its a good price and nice food when im in Blackburn i normal call in on way back to digs for a kabab

Nasty chilli sauce ruined the food do u guys not check your chilli sauce if its that strong why put alot in the worst chilli sauce u need to do somethin about it ruined all the chips if it wasnt for that chilli sauce then rating would have been higher

Ask for rice with my donner wrap special I did not get it so paid 90p extra so something I did not get will not be ordering from here again

Was lovely and hot on arrival. Quick delivery as always and very tasty food. I'd say the only downside is that you should be able to select whether you want vinegar salt and/or pepper as an extra option. Highly recommended! Best fish & chips in Blackburn

Took an hour and a half to come, the salt and pepper chips were hard an chewy like they had been reheated, the chicken curry tasted like water, the chow main was okish. Most of it went in the bin I might as well have just town £15 out of the window. Were really not happy will not order from here again

Usually love this place but Food was only Luke warm, and took an hour and a half to arrive. But staff were very helpful upon calling them and made my next order half price.

Ive eaten here a few times but I think that may be my last, vinegar soaked into the burgers even though I didnt request any and the chicken satay sauce was just watery chicken

Food arrived in very good time however the please stay away from the Chinese section of the menu as it is the worst we have ever tasted!

Food was brilliant 10 mins late but phoned up and was explained that was only 1 driver thats why only 4 star for delivery but all round brilliant takeaway with so many options within my order i had chinese chow mein + pizzas + sausage chips overall 3 different types brilliant

To say we only ordered pie and chips and chips, scampi and beans it took over an hour to arrive. The portion size was good but the two pies tasted like they were a week old, could have used them as a door stop!!

Very polite and friendly staff when I enquired about late delivery. Chilli beef was too salty to eat sadly, other food was ok.

Been twice, both times I got sick. Never going back and I recommend you avoid this place and go elsewhere.

Duck and orange had never seen the orange. Was merely duck swimming in soy sauce. Chicken curry was very bland and consisted it of a lot of green peppers and mushrooms to bulk it up and there was very little chicken. Salt and pepper chicken wings looked very tired. Usually have a nice meal coming to this place but this time we were disappointed.

Food was awful and I found a piece of metal in the fried rice which was shocking and potentially dangerous. I will never be ordering from them again. Would give no stars if possible.

Disappointed tonight for the first time

Disgusting meal, no sauce on the Chow Mein, Chicken over cooked, asked for 2 tubs of extra sweet and sour sauce, but what came was NOT sweet and sour sauce was totally inedable and got thrown away would never order from here again ! waste of money
