The best pub in Blackburn town centre, should be in the Good Beer Guide. Real ale on top form and great value at around £2.50 a pint. Great value food, the steak club and curry club all include a drink as do all the other clubs on different days. Very friendly and helpful staff. Now with an outdoor beer garden under the trees near the Cathedral. (Weather permitting)

Cheap cheerful. Full of alcoholics dreadful service when busy. Could do with more staff, nothing worse than waiting ages to be served. Nothings changed from the review above 9 years ago. The beer is ok. The service shocking. Sadly when things go wrong some staff just can't apologise to a valid complaint or criticism. They only refuse to serve you. Very immature behaviour in my opinion. Maybe they should concentrate on their service rather than turning paying customers away.

I recently visited the postal order in Blackburn, and unfortunately, my experience was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the staff members were rude and unprofessional. Instead of providing any sort of customer service, they swore at us and made us feel completely unwelcome. Their behavior was unacceptable and made what should have been a pleasant outing extremely uncomfortable. I won't be returning and would advise others to avoid this place if they expect to be treated with even a basic level of respect.

Firstly it’s a Wetherspoons so you know what to expect food wise, they’re pretty much all the same. The staff were friendly but didn’t seem overly keen on cleaning tables and taking empty glasses away. We sat at a table that someone had just left and there was quite a few glasses and bottles on the table. When our drinks arrived I asked for the table to be cleaned and I got a lovely smile and a no problem but the table didn’t get cleaned or the empty’s took away. When our food arrived it was given to us and the server started to walk away and I had to ask again for the empty’s to be taken away. The place itself is a bit run down but it’s cheap and cheerful so can’t complain too much.

We were on a Group Tour round the Radio Lancashire Studios so just had to walk across the road to have a meal at Wetherspoon. We decided to try the Ramen Noodle Bowl and will definitely have it again. It is served in quite a large bowl with various vegetables mixed in with the noodles and served in a light broth. We decided to pay £1.50 extra to have a sliced chicken breast served in it and 95p for a poached egg. It was very filling so we didn't need much tea!

Called into the postal order whilst waiting for my daughter to complete the Dday Commemorations service at Blackburn Cathedral, from the minute we walked in the customer service was shocking to say the least, id previously worked in a restaurant for 10 years so know the right way to great customers , as we stood waiting to be served a brass band came in that had been playing at the commemoration, they started playing old war songs the moral in the pub rose and people came together singing was a lovely sight then came a lady bolting from the back along with 3 minons one being a chief, and ranted at the band stating you have to leave , leave now no explanation as to why, this kind of behaviour I find disgusting, a Random act of kindness met with extremely rude mannered staff. Although it was Friday when I called in so excuses can be made for it being so busy that we couldn't get a table for a while. The "regulars" are in an interesting bunch, found myself knee deep in conversation in the ladies toilets with an elderly lady telling me all about her A&E recent visit. At my table I was almost set upon for looking at someone - I don't think that you're meant to look forwards in this weatherspoons it's frowned upon by the regulars. Actually ordered a takeaway from here last night for the first time. Thought the prices were a little high but as it's a restaurant first I expected that. Ordered 2 currys, 2 starters, nan bread and poppadoms. I never eat a full portion of curry so usually throw it away as I don't like left overs, however this was so good I ate the rest this evening. So tasty probably the best curry I've had in a very long time and the first time I have ever finished it the day after. Will be ordering again for sure.

This is not a place for vegetarians. We were offered a vegetarian roast option…though they don’t have any meat alternatives, our waitress said this would be comprised of: ‘extra vegetables, a Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese’. When it arrived, the dishes each had 2 small pieces of roast potato, two pieces of carrot and a slice of beet and a small serving of broccoli (along with the cauliflower and Yorkshire pudding). When the bill arrived, we had been charged £4 each for cauliflower cheese on top of £19.50 charge for the few vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Another person on our table who had the roast chicken dinner paid only £18.50. When we identified the error on the bill, our waitress unfortunately became argumentative. I wouldn’t recommend this pub.
