Excellent fish and chips. Place is always squeaky clean. Good seating arrangement. Prices are reasonable and serving size is pretty good. I struggle to finish small code and come of chips. Limited but decent parking arrangement. Definitely recommend this place.

Apart from a hair in my partners meal and the rubbish outside the restaraunt it was great must be the best in blackburn :) Service ok dont really receive a hello or anything ! But the quality is high and great value just remember its cash only unless you want to pay £1;25 at there cash machine outside.

Me and my family went to get our first fish & chips for the first time in Blackpool. We ordered two portions of chips which we both found 2 long black hairs. My cousin ordered a chicken burger which the buns were falling apart in his hand and the chicken was like a hockey puck.

Very nice but very appauling I went there with my freind I asked for a haddock fish the guy behind the counter tells me they only serve haddock with chips so we ordered 2 haddock and chips we only ate half a portion of chips rest of the 1 and half portion of chips went to waste in the bin rizq gone to waste why can't you order 2 haddock and 1 portion of chips instead very disappointing and its cash only money laundering at its best

Management are complacent. I have always came here for fish and chips, but lately I have had 2 disappointing experiences In a row. 1st a hair in my husbands food, then the next time the food was cold and chips were hard. Fish was also below average. We informed Management about this. They said thank you for letting them know but were not interested in remuneratimg us, only that they would fry us fresh chips but no mention of fresh fish. As it stands not sure I would give this place a chance after a string of disappointing service and food. Whether I come back, remains to be seen.

Decent food but terrible customer service. Why do they insist on putting the person who speaks the least English on the task of taking phone calls? After giving up trying to place an order on the telephone I then went down in person to place my order. When I placed it I handed over the cash to the person taking my order. He took my change out and just threw it onto the counter towards me. Very strange behaviour.

I got Iftar takeout from these guys on Friday and they did not disappoint. The food was amazing with the cod bites and spicy curry sauce being the star of the show. Great value for money with healthy and thoughtful portions. I would recommend this to any fish & chip lover. Only downside was the pie but other than that 10/10 experience!

Low in quality, chips were stale and very pricey. To top it off 2 of the staff were arguing for like 10 mins in the back. AJK is the best in Blackburn

Upon visiting the restaurant, I was surprised to find that only cash payments were accepted, with no prior indication of this policy. Furthermore, when inquiring about alternatives, the staff suggested using an external cash machine that charged an additional £2 fee. This lack of transparency regarding payment methods and the inconvenience of additional charges reflect poorly on the establishment's professionalism and customer service standards.

Huge portions sizes and great prices

Fish and chips cooked fresh and was very nice, the barm teacakes were overly buttered and stale.

The food was inedible, had to throw it away. Fish was overcooked and dry, the batter was soggy and the chips were awful, not good for a so called chppy.

My fish and chips experience is London was not great. Locals in Blackburn explained that fish and chips are more of a northern dish. Surprisingly, there was a notable difference – the portions in Blackburn were generous, with enough chips for three people in a small order. I'm not a fan of mushy peas or curry sauce, so I stuck to vinegar, salt, and tartar sauce. My sister, wanting the full British experience, enjoyed combining everything. The cod was fresh, hot, and crispy, with a flaky and soft inside. Even my picky toddlers liked it. This experience changed my perception of British food, showing that it can be delicious, contrary to my initial thoughts of it being bland and sad.

It is great when you try food from one place and enjoyed than you go back it is same and always same I used to live near Whitby finish and chips was great Whitby but after Whitby I never had good fish and chips around Blackburn and Manchester area but this place is excellent food, perfect customer service, not very expensive, very clean and very fast service Thank you very much guys

Update 2 - Visited again today and can confidently say this place makes quality fish and chips. The chips were again dry and crispy, but fluffy on the inside. The ‘regular’ size cod is meaty, chunky, and fresh with just the right amount of batter. The batter is light and crispy. A little greasy but then this is deep fried food! The haddock is better. Chunky and tasty. I recommend this over the cod. Mushy peas were hot and satisfying. A little too smooth - some texture would be nice. Overall a happy customer. Update - April 2022 This place has gone downhill. In fact if it was a hill I could slide down on a sled at 100mph. The service was good, always a smile from the friendly girls at the counter and bossman behind the fryer. The haddock was dead though, and I don’t mean because it’d been fished out of the sea but because it was small in size, mushy in places and really dry in others. I cook too therefore I know this was due to a poorly cut fillet which didn’t cook evenly. Please please sort this out and fit some heating and ventilation and I’ll leave 5 stars and am sure others will too! Old review: Excellent fish and chips. The haddock was large, flaky and well cooked with just the right amount of light batter. The chips were crispy and well cooked - also large portions. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Recommended. Wish I’d taken a photo. Maybe next time

Portion of chips and a barm cake (Other names are used around the country..Breadcake, Bread rolls Teacakes.. etc),and only around £2.80 and the chips were really good and fluffy on the inside firm on the outside with proper chip shop vinegar Perfect..

Crispy fish and big portions. Mushy peas are nice and thick and not runny like most chippies. Chips dont hit the spot like AJK used to but not a a bad option compared to other places. Great phone manner and quick service.

Ordered (X4) large fish and chips for family if 4 all the fish is thin and super small was a complete scam the fish wasn't as warm or exactly fried fresh. I'd was cold in the middle. But the chips were super hot just fried. The fish is small and is 1 to max 2 cm thick they then bury the fish on top of chips to hide the size gave this place a few chances as I like to support independent shops. Once asked for the chips on the bottom and this fish on top and server says we can't do that for you and I thought that was wierd. Who say they can't do that for a customer Staff are not helpful they don't valve customer. The staff are tired and annoyed. if your spending £50 for family of 4 they need to understand the cus deserves descent food and descent service. Went in 3 times and was really disappointed 3 times. Well, I was disappointed with my visit here today. I specifically asked for, and this is because of previous occasions, "fresh small fish and chips please". "Can I have the fish separate." I also asked for a tub of peas, peas that I have purchased previously at the cost of £1.25 was a full carton/cup. Today, it was a small what looked like an ice cream scoop cup but for the same price. Coming back to the fish and chips, I ask for fresh fish and chips because unlike others, I do not like nor can eat chips that are hard or crunchy to eat. That was the majority of what I got today under my fish which I specifically asked to be separated. It's not rocket science but why some people can't understand simple conversation is beyond me. All in all, the meal cost me £6.50, I didn't enjoy it and that's all I want to say about that.

The Pakistani guy with broken English (Hassan I think he’s called) working there avoid at all cost - won’t get your order correct and when you call back to have a word will be rude and kick off absolute dismal customer service could not careless about the business or customers - only interested in his wage, you can just see he doesn’t want to be there Oh well cost the business a loyal customer wont be going in there again!

Lovely place and nice spot for fish and chips

Amazing food always! Our regular place to go for fish and chips! We had a couple of hiccups where we got the spicy curry instead of the mild curry. They apologised and got it sorted immediately. Special thanks to Ebrahim who is always above and beyond for his customer service. بارك الله فيك

Fab place, massive portions of food , great service served in an Immaculate restaurant. Prices are unbelievable for the amount of food you get. Great way to go to stay in business. Keep prices low, less profit but masses of customers , this restaurant is always busy!

I left a 1 start review before. But the last 3 times I have been in I've had fresh chips and good crispy fish. The takeout is better as the fish does not stick to the paper any longer and the batter stays in place. Good price to compared to others. I don't mind paying cash as long as the price is cheaper.

Nipped into this fish and chip shop with my son as we wanted a quick tea. I went with the large fish and chips and gravy while he had chicken nuggets and chips. We did the quick drive home and by then the fish had totally stuck to the paper and was soggy, the chips had fused into one big layer on the tray falling in one big lump on my plate. Although not looking the best it was quite tasty. The guy serving us gave my son a lolly which he loved so excellent customer services.

Small fish and chips is cheap and still a very good portion. Make sure you take cash as they dont accept card and the cash machine outside has a charge.

Called Friday evening to eat in . I ordered large cod and chips. Chips were okay but they were very badly let down by the fish . I will start with the shape - it was flat - flatter than a flat fish . Cod is a round fish with deep flakes. The batter - the batter was dark brown and extremely crispy . The content within the batter - something white , something very thin , something dry as a bone , something very unpalatable . Something well overcooked . If the supposed fish was cod then they are only using the belly flap - the cheapest cut . Nothing wrong with the staff , service or surroundings . The one star I have given for the food is for the chips.

I'm sorry but everything about this place was awful today. We ordered by phone with the name "James" yet the name this place came up with was "Xhejn" which safe to say isn't even a word, let alone a name. When we went to pick up the order, they insisted that we didn't ring to order anything, as "no one has rang an order through for a James". After finally getting the order home, we realized that the order was all wrong. Small fish and chips without the chips, even though we was still charged for the chips. Fish and peas came with chips, that the person couldn't eat due to the chips. The burger came plain, even after asking for extras.... I don't think I'll be using this place again, seen as it was a big waste of time and money Advice for anyone thinking of going here... Pick somewhere else. The staff clearly can't read, write or speak english

Mum and Dad were 😊 when I presented the 🐟 and 🍟 with spicy curry sauce. The food was nice.Curry sauce got a spicy kick to it. Service was good. However, there don't do any sauces only salt and vinegar. The atmosphere wasn't entirely dead but wasn't exactly lively either. This was around 6 on a Monday.

Always feshly made fish and chips and not drenched with oil. Food quality is perfect, tastes good each time got fish and chips from here.

For a one off and casual visit, the Queen Vic did us proud. However 2 tail ends on my plate was no match for the fillet my companion had.

Awful chippy, chips soggy and full of grease. The sausage was rock hard, I should have realised when I noticed the girl hide when packing the sausage. Wouldn’t feed it to my dog, went straight in the bin. Waste of £5.60

We are regular customers at Queen Vic. We didn’t get any satisfaction of our order. Fish didn’t taste fresh didn’t have any flavour, scampis were over cooked and burnt. We were looking forward to having the meal. I’ll have to reconsider in the future. Unless we get the many back. Not a happy customer😠

Excellent service. However the chips were soggy. Battered sausage hardly had batter on it. Taste wasn't nice. Possibly cooked in vegetable oil not beef dripping. Cash only which wasn't helpful. Ate about 1/3 of the quite large portion but couldn't finish it.

This is my favourite chippy, no doubt. No fish and chips like this chippy thats my opinion. I always visit 2 or 3 times a week or even more. Very good food and fresh most the time. Good customer service most times to. But.... on several occasions i have found hairs in my food, it's clearly a dark black curly mans hair. One of the guys workers hair. It was disgusting and put me off my food. It actually put me off going back again but because its my absolute favourite I still go back. When i went to complain to the guy on the counter at the time, he said its not any of our hair because we all have hats on. I said look at it, it's not exactly a long girls hair and its not mine. Then he didnt say anything and swapped my food. At that time none of them did have hats on which they should have been told of by they boss for this but i dont think he was in on that day. Another time i ordered my food i was charged extra when I didn't even order what i was charged extra for, good job i spotted it and got a refund straight away. Today 19/12/22 the same guy who charged me extra has charged me for a reg chips which i ordered but then has given me a small. I said i ordered and was charged for a regular and youve given me a small, he said well they both the same. I said they not, i always order the samething and i know whats the difference. I dont understand because when you place youre order they read it back to you so how can they possible get it wrong?!. I am sure he doesnt know what hes doing if hes made the same mistake with me twice or its deliberate. Its a shame i dont know his name to write in the review. Hope the service improves soon.

Reliable fish and chips, they use quality ingredients and everything is always served fresh.

I love this place and so do the kids. When we chose to eat inside and let the kids share the platter not being sure if they will finish it, people serving in the restaurant were very generous with the portions and encouraged kids to enjoy the fish. Lovely experience.

I was in there once,just for a bag of chips. A family parents and 2 brats. Messing about couldn't make up there mind, changing their mind, more messing . Instead of assistant asking me if I knew what I wanted, totally ignored me. So I left and I have never gone back. How it's still in business I have no idea. As everyday I pass by the place is empty

I came here 2 years ago not impressed. Chips were over cooked and fish on batter was like chocolate brown and tasted awful. My friend went and picked up 2 lots of Fish and chips the other day. Still not impressed. Don't think they clean and filter the frying oil regularly. Still tastes awful....

Good portion size of fish and chips freshly cooked and very polite staff. Small car park by the side of the chippy. Very clean looking and a regular flow of customers which is always a good sign. Visited from out of the area, so it’s always good to find a good place to eat.

Absolutely terrible, overcooked frozen fish, day old chips in old oil. Don’t waste your money at this dump. The worst part about this place is the appalling attitude of the “chef” cooking the fish and chips, he speaks to the staff like they are dirt, utterly disgraceful man who quite frankly needs to be taught a lesson in manners. This place is completely delisted, if I was starving to death I would crawl past!

Something fishy going on. Restaurants doesn't accept cards but there is a cash machine outside charging £1.25 an transaction 😭 Salad 🥗 turns out to be just lettuce 🤣 And a £2.50 burger is on plain bread, no cheese, no salad, no sauce 😮 This is one chippy we won't be going back too.

The best fish and chips in blackburn. It's too delicious that I was able to finish a large cod and a small cod in one meal and still planning to buy another one. The only down side is they dont have food delivery so we could order anytime. Will definitely buy another batch really really soon. #fishandchips #delish
