Was looking forward to a treat night so had my heart set on fish and chips! What a Waste of a tenner! Chips were refried, fish was overcooked and salty and the peas were stone cold! Service was frosty as well! Won’t be back!

Mixed grill. 1 sausage cold. 1 piece of bacon fatty. Horrible steak looked off, chips had a bad smell taste. Binned see photos. Avoid!!!!!!

Ordered mixed grill , fried rice, chips and a spam fritter and two drinks. The only thing that was consumable was the drinks. Food had a vile taste that lingers . Bit into the spam fritter and got a mouthful of gristle and bursting fat. The mixed grill had 1 cold sausage 1 piece of very fatty bacon and 1 piece of overcooked and smelly steak . The rice had the same terrible taste and the whole lot of food had to go into the bin. Made us with feel very sick avoid going here .

always went when was Neptune but now run by chinese. awful food. my fish cost £4.20 and was so thin and under cooked. chips tasted like they had been cooked in stale oil. A little old Chinese woman behind the counter did nothing but shout at staff.. overall a very unpleasant experience. will not be going there again

Been going here for years but while waiting for my food today I notice how dirty it’s starting to look. The new owners are not taking the time to clean up. It will be my last time for a while as the quality of food was very poor today.

Proper English chippy with a donner kebab option... even Kebabs at midday!! the only place that does it :)

Awful customer services when ordering waited 45 min which is standard but yet it turned up undercooked and cold phoned up to complain they was rude told me the chips wasn’t under cooked just changed the oil in the fryer they offered to redo the order after the driver picked it back up but as I have a 2 and 4 year old kids that needed their tee wasn’t ideal to wait another hour minimum their word won’t be goin their again and wouldn’t advise anyone to either

Best fish and chips in Runcorn. Well cooked food at good prices, everwhere very clean and friendly staff. Well worth a visit, eat in or take away. It wont disappoint you

Since changed owners and name to Ascot Fish Bar. The portion size in Chinese meals is insultingly small now. The chef seems to have changed also because they meals used to be quite delicate and well made, but are now over egged with salt and heavy flavours you find in any old poor Chinese takeaway. Now moved our custom to Langdale road where they still give you full sized meals!

Everything ordered absolutely spot on. Very quick delivery. I love these proper chippies where you get a choice of fish. The haddock was beautiful as were the potato scallops. Light crispy batter. Excellently cooked and arrived steaming hot. Would recommend highly!

1st meal from here & not disappointed. Food delivered well within expected time. Will be visiting again for sure

I love their fish and chips and they have a really large selection on the menu if fish is not to your liking! Try The Neptune you won't be disapointed

1st time visit for a long while. Quick service by fresh clean staff, lovely hot crispy fish and gereous portion of chips. Piping hot too even after a 5 minute drive home. Recomended

i use this chip shop any time we have chips , the staff are always friendly and polite and the place is clean , i have eaten the kebab meat from here and it is very nice , the chips are always goos too never get re heated chips

Friday night is chippy night in our household, so we ordered food from Neptune Fish Bar, and I have to say it was superb, the food was fresh, the fish we ordered was the best we have had in ages from any takeaway, the kids meals with the fish strips were also of very good quality, all in all a really good evenings meals, thanks a lot to the staff.

Sólo pedimos un donner kebab (sé mi culpa). Cuando entré a la tienda me di cuenta de que una nueva rosa crudo kebab estaba empezando también cocinar y spit. Pregunté al dueño cuánto antes es preparado. Él muy rápidamente dijo que acaba de cortar un poco y en un instante había elegido algunos kebab carne fuera de la Bahía Marie y comenzó a calentar, en la plancha. Obviamente que me dieron los restos de la antigua, de lo que kebab categóricamente no queria. Me hubiera pedido algo más pero él quería desplazar la comida. Nunca más. no engañan a los clientes. £5 binned y perdido.

I love a good chip shop and it's hard to find one up north as they do all sorts instead of the good old British fish and chips.what I love is they do chinese but it dose not take away from the chip shop side.love love love!!!!!delivery always good no longer than an hour on a busy Saturday.always hot a fresh

Así Neptuno ha añadido recientemente un chef chino a su tripulación y tengo que decir que estoy impresionado. Él parece un excelente chef. Él lleva su propio estilo de cocina a la mesa que es casi un poco atrevido en Inglaterra. Mientras que con la mayoría de comida para llevar china encontrará sabores muy pesado e intenso cargado con sal y GMS, este chef hace su platos con un toque ligero y limpio. Prepara su comida de tal manera que ni siquiera china volvería para comer!

Since changing the menu to provide Chinese meals I am disappointed. The chips,sausages, fish etc that you would find in all chip shops are still the best around but the "Chinese" food isn't upto scratch in my opinion - you can get better elsewhere. Also disappointing that they have stopped pizzas and garlic bread as they were the best takeaway pizzas for miles and were what we came here for really. Won't be visiting nearly as often now but it's ok if all we want is a quick chippy meal

Pretty good all round chippy. Best fish in town IMO. Chips good. Curry sauce tasty. We prefer the fruity one with fish. Goes well!

Have been coming to this chippy for the past 12 months at least once a fortnight. We used to go to neptunes in the old town but this one is nearer to where we live. We have never had any bad food from here. The fish is to die for - definitely the best in runcorn & it is always fresh tasting. Plus they also do fish without batter as i can't have batter. The staff are always lovely as well. Definitely a 5 star chippy.

Go from work every now and again with a large order. You do get plenty but as most things are cooked to order, you can wait a while, so best to phone. Very clean inside the shop.

Neptune its serving great fish&chips in Runcorn for nearly 8 years its growing sow quik now the third shop is coming sune in kastlefiellds this is from hard working and great staf its mix of local pupill and Grek&Ruanian pupill trying the very best to suport ther families and serving the best food.

We have been going to neptunes since it opened. The food is always very good. The staff are friendly but recently the standards are slipping. On the last three occasions now, they have NOT had the ability to complete my order without issue.The 1st time, I ordered a pizza. After waiting 40 minutes, they told me they forgot my order. Having waited over an hour I eventually got it. The other food was now soggy. The 2nd time we ordered a pizza and a cheesy garlic bread along with some chips etc. They forgot to put cheese on the garlic bread and forgot some of the order.On the third time, tonight, we ordered a pizza, a burger, onion rings and chips etc. not a difficult order but they managed to forget the chicken burger, so had to cook it after everything else. This meant the pizza went Luke warm and soggy and the chips were mushy. On getting home, I found that they had also put someone else's food in my bag instead of the food we ordered!!! This was after they had checked the order one by one!!!!!Rather than go back again and wait another 30 minutes I just cooked my own. I should have done that in the first place and saved myself £20!!If it happens again, I will not be going back because it doesn't matter how good the food is, if they can't give you what you have ordered

The fish at this chippy is second to none in Runcorn.cooked fresh and enormous!!!Well worth a visit

Everything freshly cooked to perfection, batter light and crispy. Not only the best fish and chips in Runcorn but better than any we've had, even at the seaside.

Nice friendly staff, always has a smile even when they are rushed of their feet. Food is mostly cooked to order so you know it will be hot. The menu is quite large so you should find something for everyone. My husband is addicted to the scampi and salad and I love the fish.

Call in for a cone of chips while out walking one evening- the smell of salt and vinegar wafting out as we passed was to much to resist. Very hot fresh chips, even better eaten out of the packets with fingers!

Lovely sausage dinner with curry it was nice and spicy. Great customer service nice and fast just how I like it when I get fast foods.

This chippy used to sell everything fresh and couldn't be faulted but recently the chips have been awful warmed up and had to throw them away they were discusting .Don't know what's happened to the two friendly men that worked in there as they used to cook as you ordered non of this rubbish that they are now serving, the chippy had a good reputation but now I won't be going back.I went at lunch time warm ups, my father in law went at tea time and the same again....AVOID this chippy if you like fresh food.

Excellent choice of food and great value for money with large portions. I'd only ever heard good things and decided to try for myself and we haven't looked back. My whole family come here

Ordered take away from the Ascot chippy. One chip barn, a sausage and Hawaiian pizza. It took 1 hour 30 mins to arrive only for the pizza to be a garlic bread! Appauling service!
