Fabulous. If you haven't been to Stevonia's then why not, you're missing out! We come here every time we visit Blackpool. Absolutely love it, amazing food, friendly people, a great to sit inside and eat a chippy tea.

When 3 mornings. Delicious traditional breakfast at a reasonable price but don't have mushrooms or tomato. I cannot eat a lot of eggs so asked for buttered roll with link sausage 2 mornings which wasn't on menu. Got lovely fresh buttered roll with 3 links. Condiments were good quality Heinz, HP and Sarsons. Will definitely go back if in area. They also do lunch, evening meals and takeaway and menu is varied enough to suit most people.

My family and I go to this place once a year when we visit Blackpool for the day. I wrote a positive review some years ago and after eating there last Thursday I want to say again what a splendid place it is to eat fish and chips. All being well, we will be back again next August

Wonderful family run cafe . Slightly set back from the promenade, so easy to get a table. Excellent friendly service provided by Lloyd the owner. Great comprehensive menu catering for children and over 65s as well as a great range of hot food and drinks. All food cooked fresh and delicious. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Operating under a different name (Taylor’s fish and chips). Ordered via deliveroo. Never received the order. They marked the order as delivered 2 hours after the ETA, while I was eating MacDonald’s as nothing else was open. Needless to say they never delivered. Will be reporting to trading standards.

My wife had the fish which she said was very good, however that is where the good review ends. I had the cheeseburger which was very average for the price. The main problem was that my teens had the pizza - wow such shocking value for money. They were £13 each and to be honest I have purchased better pizzas from the frozen section in Sainsbury’s for less than £2 each. Technically I suppose the restaurant would say that everything was cooked fine - cheeseburger was slightly over cooked but value for money was not good - £26 of the bill for 2 pizzas that quite frankly weren’t worth a tenner

Good value meals specially for children,my only gripe was the fact that as someone that is celiac and relys on gluten free diet there was only jacket potato option, but then blackpool centre as hole is poor for gluten free.i would use this cafe again if in area as my daughter enjoyed and staff friendly.

We visit Blackpool from Scotland every year and always make a point of having a meal in Stevonias. Best chip shop in the town by far. Everything is freshly made, the batter is light and crispy and non-greasy. Portions are great, and very reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and chatty and nothing is too much trouble. Cannot recommend enough. See you next year!

We visited this little cafe after spending the day in Blackpool. This was the first day the cafe had opened due to covid restrictions. We were seated and given menus. We ordered our meals. The gentleman who served us was lovely, so chatty and friendly, and really made us feel welcome. We all enjoyed our meal. And would definitely return when we go vack to Blackpool.The prices were very good with an extensive menu too.

Orderd last night couldnt order through the app cause can only pay by card so rang and they let me pay with cash we had 2 fish and chips with peas curry sace and gravy and a cheese burger food was very nice staff were pleasant would recommend this chippy very nice thankyou

Omg, 1 star Is too much, just been for 2 cheese burgers, doner meat and chips but havent got any doner meat so decided to have a meat feast pizza and chips. The burgers were cooked before pizza went in so were cold and soggy, I even had to ask him for salad and mayo even though he had already wrapped them, wasnt even asked about salt and vinegar on chips which I'm pretty sure everywhere does this, and they were even undercooked and my god they havent a clue about cooking or making pizza, uncooked, no meat apart from pepperoni and a little chicken. Come on you cant get this much wrong. Almost nearly £20 for this crap. I would feel ashamed to give to a tramp. Who ever gave this 5 stars hasn't got any standards or taste. Dont visit this place as you will waste your money honestly. I love to review and this is by far the worse I've visited ever. Dont part with your money. I'm so angry I felt like going back for my money back but if this is what they serve they probably have no customers and need the money

This only has one star as could not leave zero. Went today before driving home. States award winning fish and chips, not sure what award they won but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say “worsed fish and chips in Blackpool award” chips were horrid and had a nasty taste. Ate here on our last night in Blackpool. The fish and chips are lovely. The batter is light and not at all greasy as are the chips. Staff are friendly too. We were the only ones in the restaurant. It isn't on the seafront but just behind the entrance to the car park. We enjoyed our meal and will be back on our next visit.

My wife and I went in here to buy our lunch we were absolutely disgusted at what we received, very greasy chips, fish that had very little fish inside the batter, and the tea was cool. When my asked the female staff if she could take it away and heat it up she did not like it she grabbed our two plates causing some of the fish and chips to fall of the plates and onto the floor she walked away returning a few minutes later with the same amount of fish & chips that she took away throwing the two plates onto the table saying hopefully there warm, (in a nasty voice) I thought that she might-of- replaced the food that she spilled no she couldn't be annoyed. Wheelchair users should stay away its not accessible.

I went here with my family last night. It was funny as my finace was hungry the same afternoon so he had chips, cheese and gravy. I had fish, chips, curry sauce and a bottle of water, it was of very good quality but at £8 I did feel it was a bit steep.

** Drinks **Firstly, let’s talk about drinks, these are ridiculously overpriced £1.65 for a small glass of a soft drink (which was more than likely poured out of a large 2 litre bottle) on top of the drinks being overpriced they were also not refrigerated and were served at room temperature, which was also a major let down bearing in mind the price of them.** Food **Secondly let’s talk about the food, as it clearly wasn’t the highest of quality by the longest of shots. We ordered a Standard Fish and Chips (Chose Cod) alongside this a Cheese and Onion Toastie with Chips.** Fish and Chips **The Fish was incredibly Oily, and the batter was nothing to write home about also the actual fish tasted very mushy (like it was reformed fish) and the hand peeled, hand cooked chips certainly were not prepared on the premises, they are more like catering oven chips, but cooked in a deep fat fryer, as these had a dirty oil taste. However they did look reasonably clean. ** Cheese and Onion Toastie and Chips **Where to start with this meal. The Cheese and Onion Toastie had hardly any cheese in it it was mainly onion, if I order a Cheese and Onion Toastie I would expect to at least see some Cheese in it albeit melted, the amount of cheese was so little, it actually looked like butter and been put on and they forgot the cheese in the toasted sandwich. In relation to the chips it was the same as the chips used in the above Fish and Chips dish. ** Breakdown of the Bill **Regular (Cod) Fish and Chips £6.95Cheese and Onion Toastie and Chips £5.45Small Glass of Coca Cola £1.65Small Glass of Tango Orange £1.65 Total £15.70** Final Thoughts **Now it’s not up to me whether you use this restaurant or not but the only thing which stuck out for me was the service which also wasn’t that great. Please think about if you are going to use this restaurant but I can categorically say now that I will not being using the restaurant at any point the near future as I was thoroughly disappointed with the events of this visit.

Had a simple chips and curry tray on our first night. Chips good and so was the curry. We also came here for breakfast one morning which wasn't so good. Ordered 2 small breakfasts with toast & tea. Nice pot of tea with a small jug of hot water to top it up and 2 tea bags so wasn't weak. When the breakfasts came out I asked for the toast too. I like to eat my toast with my breakfast. I waited for quite a while before deciding to start on the breakfast as I didn't want it cold. I had almost finished before the toast actually came out. I sent it back & did without. Very disappointing.

We ordered a combination of Burgers, BLT, fish and chips (and mushy peas) and all 5 of us were pleased with what we got. We ate in the café upstairs at the back and the waitress was friendly and efficient. With a drink it was about 7 pounds each. Highly recommended.

Chips were barely cooked, arrived 20 minutes early, could they not have just cooked them for that time to ensure there were no rock solid chips? Piss poor quality.

I had the tastiest fish ever on Friday night. They didn't skimp on the chips either. great service, quick and friendly. loved it.

Place was empty when we got there and that should have given us a clue.Nearly £30 for 3 x pie & chips, tea and a slice of bread and butter each.

The worst chip shop in Blackpool me and my wife ordered fish chips and peas what we got was fish tiny portion of peas and what can only be described as Christmas there was no dictator in the chips I gave them back to the waiters I didn't get any other chips back or anything knocked off the bill it's a terrible place to eat

Ordered from here as a takeaway, spent £15 and it was disgraceful. Your take on our national dish should be punishable by exile. The chips had obviously been re-fried, several times by the look of it, why were they brown?? And the fish was soggy, greasy and yet still over-done in the middle, it was awful. I will accept a refund or a trial by combat.

This was a lovely chippy and the fish was the nicest I've ever had. Chips and curry were also delicious. So glad we visited.

We visited Blackpool for a couple of hours to watch the Firework Championships.Traffic was horrendous and we were later than anticipated arriving in Blackpool. We parked on the car park opposite Stevonia, and having not eaten since lunchtime, and the children desperate to go to the toilet, we decided to eat there rather than eat where we'd originally planned as it was too far from where we'd parked.On entering the cafe, I looked at my husband and wanted to walk out. It wasn't our type of place at all. But we felt embarrassed to walk out! Never again will I be embarrassed if I don't like somewhere. Stained tablecloths and the type of place you don't want to touch anything. We sat at a table ordered fish chips and peas for ourselves and two children. The fish was ok. £26 for 4 of us. Should have gone to a nice country pub on the way, paid more, and had a nice meal.The toilet was DISGUSTING. There was a dirty rag net curtain which only covered half the window, facing someone's yard!!!! So they would get an eyeful of everyone using the loo !!!!!!! And it stunk!!!!!!If you're a £10 a night bed and breakfast type of clientele you'll love it here.

I go to Stevonia each time I visit Blackpool. The food is always great, I love the puddings, my family love the fish. The staff are always polite and smartly dressed and the chaps in the takeaway are cheeky chappies!! So carry on cooking Stevonia. You are the best in Blackpool.

This chip shop has been here as long as I have been coming to Blackpool (that started in the late 60's). We stopped here for takeaway after a show one night but the young man serving seemed more interested in the footie on the TV than what he was cooking and who he was serving.

Went there for fish and chip tea. When we ordered we asked for coffee. Well coffee arrived before fish and chips. Tablecloths were dirty. Fish and chips well I have tasted better. But worst of all the toilets were an absolute disgrace. In hindsight we should have walked out at the very beginning. Cannot understand other reviewers saying how good it was.

Stumbled upon this gem while looking for something to eat while trying desperately to get out of the wind and rain. There were 9 of us and the owner opened up the lower ground floor to get us all comfortably in. Most of us had fish and chips and a pot of tea to warm up! The fish and chips were some of the best we have ever had and is highly recommended.

After reading some of the reviews we decided to have tea at Stevonias....having walked alot during the day we were hungry!We were the only couple in the restaurant, the lady who served us was very polite, we both ordered 'cod and chips' which were freshly cooked and at £5.55 each reasonable...the bill in total inc 2 soft drinks was just under £15.00.The fish was very small not filling enough for my partner and there was no napkins on the table, apart fom that would recommend people to try it and only ashort walk from the tower!

I've lived in Blackpool for over 20 years, and in my time I've eaten thousands of take always/ home Delivery's, but this is the first time I have ever experienced a quality and indeed traditional fast food restaurant bring fish and chips to my door..... I first sampled the Stevonia's Fish & Chips in 1978 and they are as good today as they were in 1978.. Its a family run buisness and everybody is so polite and a credit to thefamily. So I award Stevonia my Carlsberg Award.

My family has been visiting the Stevonia for many years and after an absence of 5 years we had lunch there again yesterday the 8th.October. The Fish & Chips and the service were exceptional and we were remembered from our previous visits some years ago. It is good to see that some good things in life remain true to our memories. Undoubtedly we shall visit the Stevonia again.

Came to Blackpool today 4thsept. after a gap of many years,parked on what used to be central station (still cant understand why they got rid of it) but what I can remember is going to Stevonia chip shop for lunch.As we got out of the car we spotted the chip shop so decided to go again for lunch this time with our grandaughter and it was superb,the fish was fresh and very ligthly battered and crisp and the chips and peas were also up to the mark,washed down with plenty of tea what more could you want.It is situated next to central car park so very handy.

Totally disappointed with the food and service.Portions were small. Couldn't tell the difference between the curry sauce and the gravy. The chips were very greasy and the cheese burger was cold.The service was terrible as when we asked for the food to be wrapped, it was plonked on top of the counter. When asked for a bag, the food was thrown in upside down so it was all pretty much spoilt. No respect was shown to us or the food we had just paid for. The food went straight in the bin once we got home, because it tasted awful and the burger was not cooked. Not a good way to treat locals. certainly wont go there again.

A young girl called Lauren kept chatting us up, she introduced her self and handed her phone number to us and then said "ring me if you want a good night out" and winked at us. We couldn't stop laughing, wouldn't of expected that from a waitress. The food was outstanding though, although the coke was flat. Very polite gentleman who was very good looking, more my type than the young girl.

We took a group of seniors from Harrow to see the illuminations last weekend and were struggling to book a Fish & Chip restaurant for dinner. Mr Taylor kindly obliged and we called him on our way and of our arrival. Very convenient opposite the coach drop off point close to shops and we were welcomed with warmth and the first floor room was nicely decorated. The set menu arranged prior to our arrival was excellent. Overall we had no complaints from any of our group. The vegetarians were looked after with a cheese and onion pie and we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for any groups planning a visit to see the illuminations. Mr Taylor and his boys and Megan and Becky were great. Thanks a lot.

This must be the worst fish and chips I have ever had.The chips were half cooked and the whole lot of it was totally saturated with grease.The mushy peas were luminous green and just tasted of bicarb soda.This chippy obviously isn't relying on repeat business if it was it would be closed.This was a takeaway i had and it cost about £12 for two portions,so not the cheapest, maybe that price was due to all the extra grease I got with it.

Went with my parents and young daughter at the weekend, been the Stevonia a lot of times and have usually eaten in with no compaint. However, the young girl on the counter couldn't work out that I wanted a large chips to be shared with my daughter (as the manager had advised her to give me), then diddled my mum out of a fiver. Also I'd dread to think what a regular sized chips was as the large left a lot to be desired. I would give it another chance though, but would check my change next time!

We(4 adults and 3 young children) were walking alng the promenade looking for somewhere to have lunch. Saw the red sign of Stevonia's restaurant behind central coach park.Decided to see what it was like. We were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was nice and clean, the staff could not have been more helpful accommodating and cheerful,the food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. It was a very relaxing and pleasant experience. We will certainly return in the future.

Excellent, fresh, melt in the mouth cod in a light crispy batter chips and peas. Top quality service even though the place was very busy. We have been going there since we were just going out and we have been married 21 years now. Probably about the best place to eat in that area and also very friendly. Other diners seemed very happy too.

If you think 95p is an acceptable price for a normal can of coke, this is the place for you. If however you think that places like this are happy to rip the public off, walk in any direction for 2 minutes and spend your money elsewhere.

I dont know whether to start with the terrible food or service. The food was minimal and tasteless. The service was attrocious, a snarling waitress who looked affronted when she was informed (politely) that part of the meal was missing. I had a jacket potato with tuna, there was a small potato on a plate with a scraping of tuna.Half of the plate was literally covered by the napkin. The fish chips and gravy came minus the gravy. The tuna sandwich has yet to see tuna. And the rather pricely £1.45 for a glass of coke was a joke. Do not visit here unless you like extortionate prices and want to leave as hungry as when you arrived.

My partner & I went to Blackpool on a whim as we fancied proper blackpool fish & chips. after a walk from north pier to central we chose this chip shop having read that it had been in the same family for 90 years.. Must be good we thought. The place was empty but as it was a decent day we chose to sit outside.We ordered 2 teas with our meal. It looked as if the tea bag had been waved over the cup. When the meal came it was in a tray and had been treated as a takeaway even though we were charged eating in prices. There were lots of chips but the fish was very dissapointing. We ordered large haddock but it was more like a normal fish we would get at home. Service not very friendly and overall a very dissapointing experience.

Decided to eat here with my wife over the Easter weekend, when we entered the restaurant there were no other diners that should have given us a clue to leave, but we sat down perused the menu and both decided to order the extra large haddock.This is not the best value restaurant in Blackpool.The food arrived a few minutes later, what we were presented with was some quite nice chips, a medium sized fish fillet and what looked like another medium sized fish fillet that had been cut in half.I started on the chips which were OK , then the full fish fillet, the batter was very crispy and very airy the fish inside was thin and not the bright white that cooked haddock should be, in fact it was a little grey. At this point my wife told me to look at her half fillet, the fish inside was pink, I checked my half fillet it was also pink, This was not right. I summoned the waitress, she didn't say much as I explained the problem she just took the plates back to talk to the chef, she returned another minute later and offered to have the meals replaced, we declined the offer, paid for the drinks and left.Just what kind of fish was that?I will be contacting Blackpool council over this , and asking them to investigate the Stevonia.Eat there at your own risk.

Myself and my husband went to this fish and chip place on the 08/04/2012 for our 29th wedding anniversary we had starved ourselves all day so that we could have the extra large fish and chips at £8.25p i also ordered a bottle of water the water came but no glass, then the waitress brought our dinners and i will say it did look good, the fish came as a large fish (we ordered the haddock) but what we got was well to tell the truth i dont know what it was only it was pink when i cut into it and tasted very funny, when we called her over she took them away talked to the chef and then offered for them to do another one for us, no thank you i paid for the water and left, for gods sake do not risk this place as you could wake up feeling like hell too.

Me and my partner visited stevonia recently after reading reviews on here. I'm not really fussy when it comes to food but the fish was terrible. Very small, deffinately got ripped off. There was more batter than fish. Really wouldn't recommend this place, there's bound to be a better chippy!!

As a local cabbie in Blackpool, ive tried nearly all the fast food there is to offer.Ive been goin to Stevonia for the last few years and its definetly the best. Grab a large fish n chips and head onto the promenade to soak up the sun.

I had read some good reviews so my family decided to pay a visit on a recent day out to Blackpool. Opposite a car park and short walk from the Tower, it was easy to find. Getting downstairs was a struggle with a buggy but we were given a warm welcome. The Cod and chips were nice. The room was clean and tidy but a little cramped. We will return for a traditional Blackpool Fish and Chip experience.

I do not know what the restaurant food is like but the take away food is worse than terrible. I have bought fish and chips there twice in two years - and both times the fish smelled bad. First time, I thought it might be my error so I tasted a little piece - it was disgusting and it had to be thrown in the bin. Second time, the smell was enough and again it went in the bin. Two out of three IS bad so I will never go there for a third time.

I have been coming to Stevonia for more years than I care to remember. I can only say that it is the best place for Fish and Chips in Blackpool. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean and tidy. The food is served quickly and is always hot. On our last visit to Blackpool (June 2008), staying at an hotel on South Promenade, we got the tram along to Central Prom, purposely to go to Stevonia for our meal. Thoroughly recommended
