Came across this gem looking for lunch. We had the crab sandwiches which were delicious - just perfect. Noticed they did fish and chips and lobster and chips but only on two days of the week. And it was first come first served until they ran out. So went back to try the haddock and chips. Awesome. Best fish I have ever tasted - no batter, just grilled with lots of butter. Owner explained that he only used fresh locally caught fish and only when he could gets it off the local boats. It shows!!

This is our second visit to "Meet Me On The Corner" and it did not disappoint. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked superb. The Full English breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. The lemon drizzle cake was also a very worthy choice for dessert - light, moist and topped with a sweet lemon icing. We will certainly be adding this establishment to our list of favourites. Highly recommended to anyone who likes good food.

Talented cuisine - everything we ordered had bold flavours and was well prepared and presented - but as the menu is small plates it should ideally present a range of options that complement each other: each plate was excellent on it's own, but we found little sense of a bigger picture, and some things clashed. Also, the service was mostly charming but a little rough around the edges. The white wine we ordered was served at room temperature, albeit on ice. Plenty to like, but a little incoherent.

As for flavour, WOW it was bloody lovely and brought back memories of how fish nd chips used to be. Dont expect light crispy batter or firm crispy chips because its not going to happen. This is due to the beef dripping which doesnt cook as high temp as oil. I do feel it is rather heavy on the grease so therefore chips are limp and batter is soggy but get plenty salt n vinegar on jobs a good one. You go there for the original taste of the past. Staff are great as are the prices so whats not to like. Probably best taste outside of Beamish museum with same coal fired set up

Had a fast food delivery, the food was packed with flavour piping hot and arrived as stated. Delivery driver was polite and professional. I had a hot shot Parmo, which was delicious, although it is huge, you don’t need the chips. Excellent recommendation as it is well deserved.

A lovely family run restaurant with a good vibe and superb food. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the area.
