The best restaurants serving Seafood food in North East

Great service of a great meal in a wonderful setting. I will definitely go back.

Only chippy I eat from cos I always find chippy chips hard and awful but this place as the best and freshest food I've had from a chippy. The staff are friendly and very welcoming.

Over seasoned fish cakes. Half the menu off. Waste of money.

If I could rate have higher than 5 stars I would , the cheeseburger battered with chips and curry almost made me bust it was that good

Love seafood restaurants and it is so lovely to eat overlooking the harbour. Food and service were very good and with our visit being a Thursday night the place wasn't too busy (it gets very busy in season). Do not hesitate to visit here or their sister restaurant ((The fish shack) if you love seafood (other options are available). Thank you

Now I get the name of the place having the word shack in so I should not have been so surprised at some of the things that made me blink in wonder. Wooden knives n forks. Drinks served in the can. Shabby blankets outside. No shellfish at all on the menu. Maybe I expected more but when I'm paying £25 for a bit of fish trying to eat it with a small wooden fork is impossible. It was rather over done and the side potatoes were over salted (and I like salt!!). So much so I could not eat them. My friends faired a bit better with their kedgeree and both said it was nice. What really did get me though was the service charge put on. Think it was 15% Not sure what it was for as we were seved 3 meals and 3 cans of coke. The cost was just under £80. I had looked forward to a very long time to eating here and was so disappointed.

Excellent service recieved the past 7 times I have been there with cheerful ladies and the gent in charge of the fryer enthusiastic and friendly sorting Sweet William request without hesitation. Food is sensational all times with plentiful portions with sometimes 2 and 3 pieces of Haddock placed in on standard fish and chips order. Curry sauce particular favourite. Better than Colmans and Smiths I am used to on Ocean Road.

fantastic view food very dissappointing, seafood soup couldnt find seafood, roast beef very poor, thinly cut, veg luke warm. staff hovered and took plate before finished.It was my 40th wedding anniversay thought it would be good very dissappointed.

Decidimos ir al frente del mar en Seaburn y comprar pescado con papas fritas, ya que el tiempo era tan agradable y cálido para septiembre Mi hijo se decidió por Scampi y yo por Merluza que se cocinaron por encargo y estaban excelentes. Mi esposo no es fanático de los peces y se decidió por un pastel. El tamaño de las porciones era excelente y el personal muy servicial y amable.

Bought cod bites, smoked sausage and large chips on 28 June. While the first two items were well-cooked, the chips were a bare pass, and were greasy in places. Although reasonable overall value for money (£9.50), I've had far better elsewhere. Servers were quite friendly.
