A Corvi Fish Restaurant in Northumberland

Stopped here part-way into a long trip, not realising we had arrived shortly before close. However, lovely kind staff only too happy to prepare freshly made fish and chips to order. Deliciously hot, crispy batter and flaky fish. Excellent chips. Reasonable price for a good portion. Thank you.

Gorgeous. Batter crispy chips crisp not soggy and very friendly service. Close to river too so easy to eat outside. Would go again.

Rather than eat in the 'dog friendly' eating area. We decided to order fish and chips to takeaway. However I was disappointed to watch the fish fryer plate several cooked fish fillets by hand, for the waitress to serve to waiting diners. Although our fish and chips were adequate, they were unimpressive and average. Poor food hygiene and tired surroundings would not warrant a second visit.

Called in here as we wanted fish and chips for dinner and we'd read the reviews on Tripadvisor. We weren't disappointed - the fish was really fresh, with proper chips and mushy peas. Don't normally do reviews but decided to leave one this time as it was the best fish and chips we've had in a long time. Would definitely go back there on another visit to Berwick upon Tweed. As others have said, the staff were really friendly too.

We stopped by one late afternoon whilst visiting Berwick for a couple of hours and had a take away to eat by the river. The fish was cooked to order and my wife and I both agreed that it was one of the best fish and chips we have ever had! The fish and batter was light, tasted particularly fresh, and the chips were perfect - the service was very friendly too. I don't write that many reviews, but this restaurant certainly deserves praise (we even contemplated a 1 hour drive later in the week, just for another meal)!

Fantastic "special" fish and chips with tea and bread at a great price. Everything outstanding - staff friendly and attentive - food excellent, all at a great price. A definite place to visit.

Five star review for A Corvi where I've been going for about 40yrs. Today I went for king rib, chips and beans for 8. 50 and the other half had the fish supper special with mushy peas for 11.50. Both platefuls came piping hot and spilling off the plate. Cooked perfectly and we were both stuffed afterwards! Cheers!

This is a lovely, family friendly fish and chip shop. A warm welcome and wonderful food. Would highly recommend the haggis and chips.

Staying in Berwick for weekend with my family and were looking for good fish and chips. Reviews of A Corvi were great so we thought we would give it a go. On entering the place it seemed really old fashioned.. but not in a good way just really run down. We were seated by then and decided to stay.. against our better judgement. The lady serving us was lovely and so was the older gentleman cooking the food. We asked for haddock.. but no haddock!! All of us had the cod. The fish was really greasy. My partners fish had loads of bones. I was then worried about my little boy eating his. The mushy peas were watery and not homemade.. and made the fish even soggier! We live by the coast and have the best fish and chips on our doorstep. Amazed that this place gets such good reviews.

Being from Yorkshire, I know good fish & chips from bad, and these were nothing short of disgusting quality. 1/ We asked for Haddock, chips & peas x 2, only to be informed that they did not have any haddock (5.30pm on a Friday?) Both pieces of fish(whatever they were) were full of bones, and just to confirm that this is not an authentic fish and chip shop, the peas that I ordered were microwaved from a tin of Batchelors mushy peas. The final part to confirm what an appalling meal this was, was the yellow wet soggy batter. £15 for the worst fish & chips I can recall. DO NOT GO HERE!

Stopped by when we were passing through berwick upon tweed. Sat in for fish and chips with curry sauce. The owners were lovely, the place is old school charming with plenty of seating and the fish was great with nice crispy thin batter. What more could you want?!

Having been many times in the past , only for it to be closed , last week we managed to arrive before they closed . How glad we’re we when we finally got haddock and chips , still wrapped in newspaper and cooked in beef dripping ,authentic , quality fish and chips , best in berwick .

This is the place in Berwick for your fish and chips. Corvi's has been here for years and I was first introduced here by a Berwick local about a decade ago. It does quality fish and chips at a very good price. I recently called in here for a take out lunch to eat on the quayside. The person serving me kept on piling up the chips until they stood twice as tall as the tray and then placed a crisp, golden battered cod fillet on top. Absolutely delicious in every sense. Do not let the modest, dated shop front put you off. This is the place to come for if you want quality fish and chips, friendly service and great value.

A este restaurante hoy y qué encontrar. Pescado y patatas fritas y brillante una taza caliente de té tostado. Fue una delicia. Era preciosa. Este lugar merece ser mucho más de lo que era hoy cuando estábamos en. Este restaurante es una joya, mejor usar gente o podría perder. Nuestros 2 perros fueron permitidos en con nosotros que también era una delicia. Los restaurantes son los perros cosa del futuro, estoy seguro, un creciente mercado. Gracias.

Se puede superar el pescado y patatas fritas de la corvi si vas a Berwick upon Tweed... escondido en una calle pequeña al lado de la calle alta, podría fácilmente perderse, pero siempre buscamos en nuestras visitas aquí. Envueltas en periódico como en los buenos viejos días, nos tomamos la nuestra a la orilla del río y comer mientras contemplábamos los barcos ir y venir, y los cisnes nadando. Siempre fresco al gusto, sabroso y con una sonrisa. No nos vamos a ningún otro lugar!
