Very popular fish and chip shop in Amble. The sizeable queue at certain times is a sign of its popularity. The food was excellent and I have been a few times. Prices are comparable with other fish and chip shops in the area.

After waiting in a very long queue, discovered it was well worth the wait. The best fish and chips "Anywhere" in my opinion! Definitely recommend!

I ordered a large chips and I got about to handfuls of chips and paid over £6 for them total rip off I'm not impressed!

Really disappointing as the takeaway was recommended , however fish was overcooked and dry and batter was soggy. Chips were cold.

Knew this place would be good as it was already busy before noon on a wet Wednesday. Not disappointed, huge portions of fish, light crispy batter and great chips and peas. Staff very pleasant and efficient. Great local chippy .

Got large fish ,large chips and large peas twice only with curry this time but the fish ain't large or cheap 27 pound s for 2 won't be back .

Fantastic fish and chips. They also accept card payments which was fantastic. Will use again soon Update for 2024 -the quality has really deteriorated over the last few months. Fish is very thin, over cooked / dry with soggy batter. Battered sausages are soggy and cold and chips are too oily and lacking there normal refinement. This has been witnessed over 2 separate visits where I have spent over £45.00 each time. Staff are still excellent and you can't beat their curry sauce.

Always such a busy place! We went here for the usual fish and chips and even on such a busy evening, you wasn't waiting long to be served for your food to be served into boxes and passed to you. The place is run like a well oiled machine and the busyness tells you how good the food is too. Highly recommended if visiting Amble.

The service and quality is very good. The curry sauce is excellent.

A traditional fish and chip shop that still uses beef dripping for frying in. For those from days gone by, like myself, you can't beat it. Really good portions served by staff who are happy to serve and go above and beyond to help you with any questions. Highly recommended.

Disappointed that the chip shop was closed on Sunday 19th 2023 Checked website and it states open 11.30 - 3.00 pm So we drove from Ellington to find chip shop closed on Sundays Very annoyed that your website is out of date and not been updated We had your fish and chips last year and they were great hence the revisit this year

Absolutely appalling food. Cold chips and grossly overcooked fish that was more batter than fish. Been patronising this chippy for over 20 years when visiting Northumberland and I most certainly will not be doing again.

Has improved after it had went a bit downhill. The other chip shops don't cut it and the cod bites are 10 out of 10

Very clean and nice fish bar, staff are polite and the lady that served us also shared my hatred of scraps or as I call it "fish eczema" Nicely priced for two large chip butties, gravy & curry sauce. Now the reason for the loss of one star. It's not because of people up north being incapable to make fishcakes as we do in Yorkshire no it's down to the fact the curry sauce tasted like a jar of patak's curry sauce had been poured over a dry Christmas fruit mix and let it stew for most of the day. So if you avoid said tub of questionable concoction it's a really nice place to eat

Food of good quality and plenty of options, sit in side not available all week so very busy.

Love this place when I come down gets very busy but worth it in the end.

Tasty fish and chips for relatively good price. Be warned does come with bones. Service a tad slow.

Although the fish was good from here (which was freshly cooked while we waited), the chips were rather soggy and a bit disappointing. It also seemed a bit odd to cover the fish in salt and vinegar, rather than just the chips.

Haddock w chips and peas. Fish super fresh. Batter scrumptious. Peas perfect. Service excellent.

Excellent food and service. Busy but lots of staff so the queue moved quickly. Premises are very clean and all staff dressed properly for serving and cooking. Large cod was LARGE and good portion of chips. Scampi big pieces and sweet and juicy. Will come back in before the holiday is over!

Fantastic corner chippy! Well priced for what you get as well. Their food is fried in beef dripping (which is signed in the shop!) and goodness it makes it delicious. The chips were amazing alongside the chicken nuggets and fish. Absolutely loved all of it and I have this place saved on Google Maps for if we visit the town again!

Decided to try here because of the great reviews. Usually when in the area I go the the quayside chippy around the corner. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed at the fish and chips. Chips were a bit soggy and the fish so thin it was dry. Not the delicious flakey cod I was expecting. Was actually hard to tell what fish it was. At least the batter and service was good

We called in Sunday the chips was excellent and the cod was fantastic size for the price will definitely be calling again thanku

Recommended by a local lady which proved to be spot on. Horrible rainy evening but the queue was long and deserverable, very quickly went down, and the food was well worth waiting for. Got to be some of the best fish and chips we've ever had, gorgeous.

Amazing fish and chips. Don't know what they cook it in but it tasted like fish and chips when I was young. Very busy but queues went down quickly. I've were advised to go there by a local woman. Best advice I got, was there twice in the week we stayed in amble

I purchased large Haddock and chips here after a long bike ride and was looking forward to eating them.The shop was really busy so my expectations were they must be good. I can only tell you how disappointed I was. The Haddock was absolutely tasteless,The Batter was so thick and sloppy it put me off altogether. It was just a thick paste and I could of probably put some wallpaper up with it. The chips were nice and fresh but the fish had put me off so much I just threw the whole lot in the bin. Never again .Just being honest on my visit to this fish shop.

Fabulous place. The fish and chips were some of the best I've ever had. When we arrived, the queue was really long. Went down quickly. After we had the fish and chips, we knew why there was a queue. Great service.

To start with staff got my order wrong The cod was OK but the chips were terrible very pale and had alot of black eyes in them not worth the money I paid

£16.10 for 1 fish and chips and 1 fish. £16.10!! Fish was very average, burnt on the bottom and dry and chewy, like it had been out a long time. Chips were very nice but a ridiculously large portion so most of them ended up in the bin. Massively overpriced

Stopped for fish and chips when passing through on my delivery round. Very prompt service and the fish was cooked to perfection with crispy batter and lovely chips to go with it. Very impressed.

I love good fish and chips, and had countless all over the country. This fish and chip shop, was the best I have ever had by miles. The cod and chips are to die for, and can not wait to get up to Amble again for more.
