Food was delicious 😋 and staff very friendly, it a very family and community positive vibe. I found the place from Google maps and reviews. As staying at the local premier inn but restaurant only serving pizza on Sundays. However the staff were happy for me to eat the takeaway there

We were staying at the rugby club so it was an easy walk, 5 minutes. Cheerful staff.

I'm autistic although I've bought off them a few times. The best part is because of my lifestyle sometimes i go without food and when I genuinely needed some spare food for free they were more than willing to help me out. Which is the most amazing thing to know that I can go there if I'm in need. Because believe it or not everywhere will help me out like that. Cheers

Well, this was a find and a half! Easy parking and very nice food, especially the chips (good sized, earthy and crisp like chips should be!). Also, the staff were very pleasant, I got a lovely family vibe from here too. Will definitely eat here again.

Had 4 large cod and chips and they were massive no joke the biggest portion we have ever had. Owners very friendly and family orientated which was brilliant for a southerner to see. we could do with more of that down south.

Lovely fish and chips, cooked fresh. Lovely owner and staff, clean and friendly. Batter nice a crisp, cod lovely and fresh, nice and white and a good portion. Chips are well cooked fluffy on inside. You get a load of chips with your meal. Great value and about £2 cheaper than the other fish shop in the town.

We had a medium fish, large chips, veggie burger, hot dog and tomato sauce. All good. Just enough chips for four. To make it perfect a bit of salad in the burger would have been 5*

Not bad food chips were a bit dry but it was the end of the night, curry was nice and so was the fish. Drinks order was wrong. I understand what’s it’s like training staff! Hope your business keeps going

We had a takeaway on our first night after a long journey. We had a selection of food from the munch box, fish and chips, battered sausage and pizza along with slushies. All were tasty and lovely staff.

Popped in today for something to eat. The choice here is brilliant. Went for a burger and chips and was not disappointed. Highly recommended. Birder was so good. Service was spot on and the girls had good craic. Will be back soon to try the fry up.

We tried here for the first time tonight and were left unimpressed. We ordered a large fish & chips and the fish was long but very scabby (not a lot of fish actually on it). The fish was overcooked under a huge thick layer of chewy batter which wasn't pleasant either. The small fish was nicer and abit thicker but again still abit dry. The chips were okay but abit tasteless. There was an aftertaste of oil that wasn't nice aswell. All in all nothing to bring us back here and I don't recommend.

Unfortunately the batter on the fish left an after taste, was not crisp, think the oil used the cook it in was old . The amount was generous, and service good. Note, I have seen your reply, as I am unable to return ,perhaps you could treat someone local who would appreciate a fish and chip supper, I trust you to do this, P boden 12/5/22

Visited first weekend of April as wishing to taste local Fish and Chips while visiting Alnmouth, not our best experience - good portion size for the Cod but very greasy and left an aftertaste, kids meal of scampi was okay-ish.

Take-away, only. The fish was fresh, the oil that the fish & batter was cooked in, not so much. The chips seemed old, not very fresh.

Called in for an easy family midweek tea at 5pm (having been several times before without issue) however came away disappointed as the chips appeared reheated and were not edible… sadly we won’t be rushing back 😕

Made a neighboring couple loose £100,000 off their home value due to rude customers pestering them, including aiming a gun at the wife. Truly disgusting. I hope karma comes swiftly.

Visited before and not very happy. Thought we would give it another try as everyone has off days. Lass serving on was lovely. Food not enjoyable. Batter crisp on the outside (strange colour) on the inside soggy and just like raw flour. Sorry but chef needs to have advise on how to batter fish

We got chips from here whilst visiting on holiday. Not only were the chips great but I accidentally dropped my debit card and driver's license which the shop kindly posted back to me. That's lovely honesty as well as great food

1st time we really enjoyed our conversation with owners and the fish n chips were great. So 2nd time took the mother in law, we all had great fish n chips served by two very polite young lads. Next time we down for our holidays we will be back.

Amazing chips! Stopped here during a very long night providing race support for Husband and friend running a 62 mile trail race to Bamburgh Castle. Had to find something very quick for dinner. Guys serving were really friendly and let us park in the layby outside to eat our chips (which were the best chippy chips I had in a long time) before we had to hurry back to supporting our runners through the night.

I was working nearby and called for a fish supper, the portion was very generous and really tasty. I would well recommend the Fish n Chip shop.

Nice food and the quickest service in Alnwick

Ordered Cod bites and Chips, Cod bites had not fish in and there was not one chip over an inch long, chips had been recooked that often they were down to small scraps you would find on the floor at the end of the night, no potato at all just rock hard crisp, absolutely tasteless, will never return here again, first and last time.

We moved to Northumberland last year and have had to find new take away suppliers. These folks are fantastic, and the fish and chips they serve are awesome! The staff are really friendly and helpful, plus they do a local delivery service. I’ve eaten fish and chips from numerous places, but these are simply the best. Outstanding!

Thick heavy batter on haddock. However chips were delicious

Takeaway tray was a foot long and had to snap the end off the fish to get it in. Paler type of batter on fish. Chips up there amongst the best & so many. Order wisely. The ones we couldn't eat have gone soggy in the fridge. Less than 5 minutes from the A1 if you are passing by Alnwick late(ish) and hungry. Checked opening hours on Google.

saved us after having not booked a table anywhere to have dinner - found them online as a tip and worth coming here. what a lovely cuple was welcoming us and we had a fresh made chippy in minutes. When we are in the area again we will come back

We have just moved into the area and found this gem of a fish and chip shop, the fish and chips were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and the portions very generous. But the attitude of the woman who served us (the young man behind the counter was very polite) left a lot to be desired and by virtue of this fact we will not be returning. You spend a lot of money on fish and chips they are not cheap, but I expect to be served with some element of respect. Response to the Owner Glen Dear Glen I don’t intend this to be a slanging match but in response to your response to my review may I put the record straight. May I say I did not enter the shop visibly distressed I probably did when I left. I asked a reasonable question as to why my order took so long. To clarify something for the record I rang the order in at 7:20pm asking for an 8pm collection. I arrived and payed for the order at 7:55. My order was called at 8:30. I feel my question was a reasonable one to ask. I was immediately responded to with a very elevated voiced response. I had seen individuals enter, wait outside and be called in for their orders with figures in the 50’s. My order was 21. I was even challenged by the lady to repeat the orders I had therefore heard. Not the response I was looking for. I was offered a delivery, but as I said I did not want a delivery I am happy to come and collect. The response I received was yet again an elevated voice, I can’t do right for doing wrong. Not what I was expecting. Not good customer relations. Yes I accept we are in uncertain times and I whole heartedly respect those going about doing their job of work with the general public. I did wait a very long time for a pre-ordered request even after I paid for the order at 7:55.

I've lived up and down the UK, spent years living in Pompey so it's fair to say I've seen my fair share of chippys. Absolutely nowt like Victoria House though! Perfect food. The are staff super friendly and you'll begin to feel like one of the regulars after only your first visit. Super affordable prices for smashing food. Complete 100/10 rating. Best haggis around too

What fantastic ‘Fish n Chips’! Served by a lovely couple, every thing cooked to perfection, no skin on fish, massive portion sizes and chips to die for and at a price a southern could only dream of. Great food and service at reasonable proces

After a long day at ALNWICK castle and Gardens with two young lads 5&3, this chippy was one of the best we’ve found for some time, friendly, freshly cooked and inexpensive, it also seemed pretty popular with quite a few others turning up during our short wait.

The best fish and chip shop in the North East, always fresh and cooked to perfection, not once have I ever got half cooked hard chips like the other chip shop serve up on main street, the friendly staff always serve you with a smile too, 10/10

Just finished a medium fish small chips with peas absolutely spot on! fish tasty , batter light and crispy, well cooked and friendly staff . Not bad for the northeast from some visitors from the northwest👍
