Minchellas in Sunderland

Had the vegan/meat free sausage with chips and this is the first place to offer cooking all of it separately in fresh oil . Value for money and even impressed my meat eating son who would have it again who I shared with .

At £6.80 for 5 cod bites I’m actually lost for words to write this review. Terrible value for money, normally quite nice but on this occasion batter was like Yorkshire pudding and the fish didn’t taste or resemble the texture of cod

Fish was huge, pure white and cooked perfectly along with the golden chips and batter. Prices are more than reasonable compared to other places, for me this is the best quality fish and chip shop. Very quick service, no waiting around having to put your order in like some places. Icecream is our family's favourite, can't beat it after some fish and chips to finish off!

Really lovely fish and chips. Pure white fish, great size, fantastic crispy batter and nice tasty chips. Great service as well. Bit pricier than you'd pay at home but well worth it.

Minchellas used to make and sell their own ice creams but it definitely didnt taste like it too us which having been brought up on them as a treat was a bit sad. This branch had a slot for ice creams and two slots for fish and chips. With the sun shining the ice cream queue was large. Tables and chairs are available on the pavement. Then the cost! Nearly £10 for 3 ice creams and then they weren’t that enjoyable.

Took a stroll from the metro station to the beach and came across this place. WOW really impressed. Cod and chips £10. I have to say I enjoyed every bite. Would recommend without hesitation. Really fresh fish with crispy batter and great tasty chips. Well done! A great find!

Just had fish and chips from this place and as it’s food of the gods if done right, this was right up there. Here from Liverpool and this was a top notch chippy scran. Lovely stuff.

Excellent quality cod and chips. The portions were very generous. We ate ours piping hot from the box as we walked along the seafront - the best way to enjoy them! The staff were very friendly and efficient. We followed up with a Minchella's ice cream cone - a taste of childhood re-visited :-)

While visiting this area we had “Fish &Chips” and must say they were the best we’ve tasted for a long time and portions were fantastic along with courteous staff who served us. Highly recommended.

Always get great quality fresh and hot food really enjoyable you know they will be consistent quality been a minchellas customer for years, oh and have to say the lemon top ice cream is blinking lovely definitely worth the calories put away as a treat meal

This is my go to chip shop when I’m in the area as the chips are always good (plus they have vegetarian options). A friend and I were down the coast today and stopped for a chip butty, the portions were big and they tasted fab!

Ordered Haddock, cooked to perfection, pure white fresh fish. Golden chips, lightly salted. Lots of other choices all great value for your money.

15 fish and chip places in Seaburn and we unfortunately choose this one, ££14.50 for batter and chips which was suppose to be cod and chips. There was so little fish I thought they had mixed up our order for the vegan option

We came for an ice cream and had a nuttela flavoured one in a chocolate cone which was very nice and nutty if a little expensive at £2.80 for a single ice cream.

Firstly this review is 100% genuine. I recently have had a sausage and tea at the kiosk at Seaburn. I didn't enjoy the sausage ....batter was ok but just didn't taste good ....in my opinion could be improved alot. Even the tea wasnt particularly nice....

Great chips, menu selection is vast also. Tried a battered sausage, definitely recommended even though it sounds odd! Three tables outside but it is usually quite busy so unlikely you would be able to get a seat however there are picnic tables over the road.

This fish and chip shop has been here for as long as I can remember. At first it was Notrianies and even when changed hands has never changed. Always fresh and hot. Real good portions and good selection of items should you not fancy fish (don't know why). Girls are always friendly and helpful even when they are busy. The chips had been sat for a few minutes so prob werent their greatest but fresh and hot i'd no doubt they'd be delicious but the fish was fresh, hot and beautifully battered. My daughter and I visited Seaburn today and our first port of call was for fish and chips. After a quick look on Trip Advisor we decided on Minchella's. I can say that we were not at all disappointed. The fish (cod) was large, the chips were golden and cooked to perfection and the whole lot together was more than enough food for us to share. Sometimes you have to coax my daughter to keep eating. Not today. She started tucking in and didn't finished till it was all gone!

Wow minchellas is fab it is an amazing location overlooking the sea the service is quick and very good service. The fish and chips are delightful the cod bites and chips are so yummy and feed 2 also the fish and chips are very tasty with mushy peas. It is also very reasonable price £12 never fails to impress keep it up.

Chip shops may be ten a penny on the coast, but Minchella's is definitely the best! I've been a customer of theirs for some time now, and it never disappoints.
