Very good restaurant. Not street food style of serving. Zero complaints of quality, could possibly make the quantity a little larger. Would definitely recommend. Pleasant decor and ambiance. And a few years later what a change, sorry it has to be said, it's yellowing electric wires over the ceiling said it all, stuck in time. . A very tired menu, and what feels like a very pared back use of traditional Thai ingredients (if any) (save me from the carrots please). Grubby cardboard specials menus, so off putting. Time for a rethink...........a revamp and an update. Front service staff were pleasant enough. For one of the few Thai restaurants in the area it needs to shine brightly, unfortunately the lights have gone out.

Visited midweek for a late lunch in September. We hadn't booked and had a dog with us, but we felt very welcome. There were even bowls and water available for dogs to use. We ordered using the kiosk, and food and drink arrived quickly. The Baked Brie could have done with being warmed for a bit longer as it was not gooey as expected, but the chilli squid bites and scones were lovely. We loved the outside seating area too, so pretty next to the river.

We called in to The Little Fish and Chip shop for our supper after spending a lovely afternoon in Southwold, we have been here many times, once again we had delicious fish n chips and my favourite fish cake, excellent quick service. Thank you for remembering us from the summer!!

The restaurant is lovely and the staff are attentive and polite. Lovely views overlooking the harbour. The menu has a great choice of food and drinks. We booked for a romantic dining evening as the restaurant is known and recommend for being special and serving lovely fish dishes. We were excited to go, the food was lovely, however they served the appetisers with the starter and allowed only 5mins on finishing the appetiser and starter before bringing the main dish. We arrived at 19:30 and had eaten by 20:10. To which at 20:15 we were asked if we wanted dessert. This was really disappointing as it felt like we were in a fast food place and this ruined the meal and the experience. For the amount you pay and the effort and the quality of the food, there needs to be better time management. Unfortunately this has put us off returning.

Busy spot but well worth the wait if you want to sit and eat. It's a bit of a free for all when it comes to seating so you're not guaranteed a place. However, the sandwiches are so worth it. Really thick bread with a generous amount of filling - would highly recommend!

We came to Shoals for my Mum's birthday lunch. The food was excellent, beautifully cooked and was delicious. Excellent attentive service and all in a lovely location, you really couldn't pick a restaurant closer to the sea. I would highly recommend Shoals and will definitely be going back again.

Such a wonderful dining evening we had ! The food was so excellent, fresh and good sizes. We had a perfect half Lobster with delicious sauce and huge yummy Dover Soles with garlic butter, was so surprising good. And don’t forget the King Prawns as main course. Everything for reasonable prices. We loved it especially because we had Tam as a waiter. He was so charming and recommend the best for us. Thanks for that awesome Dinner !
