I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern following my today experience at Scott’s I had hoped to enjoy a special anniversary dinner. Unfortunately, the evening was overshadowed by inconsistent treatment, an unwarranted reprimand, and a surprising exclusion from future visits — all based on unclear and unjustified grounds. ⸻ 1. Interference with Private, Non-Disruptive Recording During the meal, we attempted to discreetly record a short personal video at our own table to commemorate the occasion. This was a private and respectful act, not aimed at any staff or other guests. Despite this, a member of your team — and later the manager — approached us, stating that “private photography” was not allowed. The term itself seemed contradictory in this context, and the approach felt unnecessarily abrupt, particularly given that no disruption was being caused. To make matters worse, I witnessed staff members willingly taking photos for other diners that evening. This kind of selective enforcement suggests inconsistency, which undermines any stated policy. ⸻ 2. Unfair Dismissal of Reasonable Feedback I also gave measured and polite feedback regarding the food — noting that it was overly crispy. Rather than taking this constructively, the staff responded with visible irritation. This made us feel uncomfortable and reluctant to speak up further. Feedback should be welcomed, not treated as a nuisance. ⸻ 3. Inappropriate Use of Uncommunicated “Records” What was most concerning, however, was being told — based on previous feedback — that we were no longer welcome at the restaurant. At no point in any of our past visits was I informed that my feedback was being recorded, let alone that it could be used against me. I was not made aware of any policy or data collection practice, nor was I given any opportunity to respond or explain. This feels like a deeply unjust and unprofessional decision, made without transparency or balance. Being banned without discussion, based solely on staff perception and without factual review, is not only poor customer service — it raises serious concerns about fairness and how feedback is handled at Scott’s. ⸻ What I Am Requesting: • A clear explanation of why our private video was interrupted, and why photography was allowed for some but not for us. • Clarification of your policy regarding customer feedback and the keeping of records — including how guests are informed and how those records are used. • A formal acknowledgment that this situation was mishandled and that the treatment we received was inappropriate. ⸻ This was meant to be a personal, celebratory evening, and instead, we were left feeling judged, unwelcome, and humiliated. I hope you will take this complaint seriously and respond in a way that reflects the high standards your establishment is known for.

So we went to Scott’s for our anniversary dinner as we have been there many times before unfortunately tonight my fish was too crispy I informed staff yet told me I was overreacting and took it away after then I took a picture upon this I was told no flash photography I was shocked as I didn’t use a flash however another table was being loud and the staff did nothing. Later when I finished my meal I said the chips were oily at this point the “manager “ IAN refused our custom and asked us to leave I’m appealed and shocked at this racist behaviour as everyone in establishment was white! They ruined our anniversary evening and said we always complain I will be taking matter further as their behaviour was nothing short of being racist!

I too visited Scott’s on many occasions yet their behaviour is abrupt and hostile! They ruined our evening of celebrations and were discriminated because of our race ! They did this to another black Caribbean couple also next to us for no reason! After this I realised it’s discrimination as everyone else was not mixed race ! Shane on Scott’s rude racist people

One of the best restaurants in London. Serving truly some of the best seafood you’ve ever had. Been a few times and I’d go back again and again. I recommend the platter and definitely get the chocolate dessert.

Personally the best ever seafood restaurant in london, the service was beyond perfection they were highly friend and professional and they even helped us get the perfect seating area while fully booked (yet we haven't made a reservation) simply wow. I rarely see this in other high classed restaurants, for sea food lovers do give it a visit becuase if you're a seafood fan and end up visiting London and not trying scotts then you're definitely missing alot as part of your own memory and special thanks to mathew for providing us the perfect experience (the friendly waiter with the long braids)

Amazing dinner experience! Will go back when possible.

We had made a booking as usual. Upon arrival, we were informed that children were no longer allowed — a decision apparently made just three days prior. This sudden change was never communicated to us and completely ruined our evening. It was especially upsetting as this was meant to be a celebratory evening Hugely disappointing and unacceptable treatment of returning guests.

Arrogant and highly unfriendly!!! We came to the restaurant at 11:50, the lady at the front told us that the restaurant is not open yet and we have to wait 5 minutes. Although you could see all of the staff inside, after waiting for 10 minutes an employee of the restaurant went out to ask if we have a reservation. We did not, since we were just shopping at Purdey and wanted to have a lunch after it. So the employee told us that the kids under 6 are not allowed in the restaurant. This was done in so an unfriendly manner, this was just unacceptable! Apart of this, if the kids are not allowed, why didn’t the lady that told us to wait say nothing about it. This would spare us some time to look for another restaurant with hungry kids. In my point of view, the guy just didn’t want to have us in the restaurant. So we went to the Mount Restaurant next door which was super Kids friendly and amazing in terms of food. And when we went outside and went to Louboutin for further shopping there was a lady sitting at Scott’s with a baby in a stroller. So much about „kids under 6 are not allowed“… Now I just want to ask the staff at Scott’s, how does it feel to turn down a mother with the kids just because we were not dress in the labels? Oh, and by the way, as a company owner we could easily afford your check, sorry, it is not that impressive. Apart from the fact that our kids visited multiple Michelin Stars restaurants in Europe although they are under six. I am so sorry, your service is not good enough to get a star… But no issue, maybe you come to Germany next time and we can show you what hospitality actually look like.

And a star is too much for him. I asked for fish and it came out. May God honor the blessing repeatedly. Sweet means expensive, unfortunately

Probably the most attentive service I’ve received in a restaurant in a while along with fabulous food (cod is recommended)!

Love coming to Scott’s it’s our newest favourite restaurant and travel all the way from Lincoln for a lovely lunch here! Our latest visit yesterday was fabulous as always.

Beautiful food, service, atmosphere, drinks. A wonderful place to eat.

I want to start by saying the sommelier recommended a truly outstanding wine. It was so good and matched the food perfectly as well. Mains were lobster thermidor and filet of John Dory and a side of creamed spinach. Each dish was extremely good. The fish had a really awesome sauce. The service was good. However, we found the pace extremely fast for fine dining. We also found the noise levels to be exceeding high so it was hard to carry on a conversation.

Went here as a treat for Mother's Day. Me and mum shared the scallops to start and then I had lobster thermidor and she had the salmon. We both loved our meals and said it was definitely worth the price

Lovely food and trendy restaurant. The grilled lobster was nice, but the shrimp masala curry was superb. Please order it with rice on the side. They had mixed seafood and sweet potato in masala curry. So delicious! Staff is polite was super busy. Absolutely recommended!

I have been to Scott’s multiple times and I can only say it is one of the best fish and seafood restaurants in London. Food is always tasty and service is good. If you grab a seat at the outside terrace you can have a nice view of the beautiful and architecturally rich Mount Street.

Unfortunately, our experience was far from that. We were not informed at any point — either when booking or upon arrival — that there was a minimum spend requirement of £75 per person. After ordering coffee and sitting peacefully, a member of staff (possibly the manager or host) approached us and very loudly and rudely informed us that next time, we would have to pay £75 each if we were not ordering food. This was both surprising and disappointing. We understand that fine dining establishments may have certain policies, but they must be communicated in advance and delivered respectfully — not shouted at guests who are simply enjoying their drinks. The tone and approach were inappropriate, and it left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. We kindly ask that you look into this matter and ensure that your policies are clearly stated during booking and that your staff maintain professionalism when dealing with guests. Terrible service, the waitress rudely forces me to order when I'm on the phone, I had a cup of coffee with my friends, although the table was free until 15:00 and we came at 13:00, the administrator ran out and shouted that next time there will be an extra payment of 75 pounds, although he didn't say anything before that there was some kind of minimum order, we didn't want to eat, just drink coffee, for what rudely spoiled our mood and impression of service

Outrageous behaviour – unacceptable and unprofessional To the Management of Scott’s London, I’m shocked and frankly disgusted by the way I was treated during my recent visit to your restaurant. I came with a guest for a coffee. At no point were we told about any £75 minimum spend — not during booking, not on arrival. Instead, while sitting calmly and enjoying our drinks, we were approached by a member of your staff who loudly and aggressively told us that “next time” we’d need to pay £75 each if we don’t order food. Let me be clear: this kind of arrogant, condescending treatment of guests is outrageous. I don’t care how prestigious your establishment claims to be — if your staff can’t treat customers with basic respect, then your reputation is built on nothing. You don’t shame paying guests mid-visit for not spending “enough.” You inform them clearly and beforehand, not through public humiliation. It’s completely unacceptable. I expect this incident to be taken seriously, and I expect a formal apology. If this is the standard of your hospitality, it deserves to be publicly addressed.

I love langoustines, and this is one of the few places where you can get half a dozen on ice. Yes, they’re expensive, but I don’t begrudge a penny of it as they were as fresh as fresh can be. Mains of slip soles (cooked to perfection) and sea bass (likewise), were sensational. The chips were fabulous. Service totally on point. All in all, you can see why Scott’s is consistently so busy. It’s an utter joy to eat here in all respects. How they keep standards so high with so many covers, I’ve no idea, but they absolutely do. Just one of my happy places to be in life!

A Delightful Lunch Experience I had a wonderful experience at Scott’s for lunch on Saturday, March 15, 2025. From the moment I arrived, the service was pleasant and welcoming, with a special shoutout to waiter Matt, who made the experience even more enjoyable. I opted to sit outside, where I could watch the world go by while enjoying the warm heater beside me. The outdoor seating had a lovely and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to unwind. For my first course, I had the eel, which came highly recommended. It was delicious, light, and full of flavor—a great start to the meal. For my main course, I chose the fresh fish & chips, and it did not disappoint. The fish was incredibly fresh and practically melted in my mouth, while the chips were perfectly crunchy, just how I like them. I decided to skip dessert but finished off my meal with a tasty cappuccino and a refreshing mint tea—a perfect way to end a great dining experience. Overall, Scott’s provided a relaxing ambiance, outstanding food, and warm hospitality. I truly felt welcomed and look forward to returning soon!

Delicious seafood, no doubt the best in London

Awful food - very basic and the sole I had was full of bones. If you kissed the ivy with a Wetherspoons - that’s what this place is. The service was dire - asked to order food before even being asked what we would like to drink. Meals came out crazy different times.. 15 mins inbetween each of us getting our mains so some of take had finished whilst some hadn’t started. Waiter was inattentive and not friendly.

Really good restaurant in the Mayfair area. The atmosphere is brutal... we went on a Monday and it was packed and super lively. The place is very cool. Eating everything very good. To snack we ordered French oysters that were luxurious, good quality. We also ordered the salmon tartare with avocado and it is another good option. For main courses we ordered the sea bass which was spectacular. The grilled salmon with vegetables was also exquisite and finally the smoked salmon which again was of very good quality. For dessert we ordered the cheese board, which comes in 3 types and a good quantity, recommended. The service is super good and attentive. Very professional. As for the quality-price ratio, it is not a cheap place by any means, but the raw materials and processing are of a high level, so it seems to me that it is in accordance. Our experience was pleasantly positive.

Muy buen restaurante, estaba ocupado y buena organización. El servicio es eficiente , el personal volvió a comprobar en algunas ocasiones para asegurarse de que todo iba bien. El personal está lleno de atención. Compartimos ostras 'spéciales de claires' . estaban muy frescas y llenas de sabores , el Henriot Champagne era excelente como se esperaba. Compartimos los mariscos tostados , deliciosa y muy bonita presentación. Particularmente aprecié como pedido secundario el queso coliflor , salsa muy rica 😋

One of my go to places in London for some great seafood. What is even more impressive than the food is the service which pretty old school and highly attentive. 6 ⭐️ for the service.

It's definitely old school but it's really good. I love the grilled lobster. Usually busy for dinner but noise is absorbed by soft surfaces and you can carry on a conversation. Lot's of business parties can be found speaking in a variety of languages. Also, close to Mount Strre Restaurant above he Audley Public House and to Connaught (excellent bar) and for asian, Kai. We go at least once every time in London which is 4-5 times a year.

Excellence everywhere: the welcome, the establishment itself, the service and on the plate. We took the octopus carpaccio & tuna and sea bass ceviche to share as well as the cod fillet & monkfish curry, the apple pie with custard to finish. Everything was perfectly cooked, seasoned, presented. Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of this menu which offers classics and more trendy dishes.

Classic old fashioned London Restaurant. Great attentive service. The food was very good and the staff are excellent. One of my go to places to eat in London. It is not cheap and like many restaurants prices have gone up since Covid.

The Quality of the food is very high and the environment very friendly. Salmon was excellent, even the tartare. Same for lobsters. Waiters gave us time to discuss our business without being too much at the table.

This amazing place offers not only incredible food consistently, but also the perfect ambiance for a lazy lunch or evening meal with family. We love the counter dining as it gives a more immersive feel. Lovely place to dine in a beautiful street of London. Service was amazing and the seafood we ordered spectacular ! And we were in London and stop for dinner. It’s the best for us !

Went with four friends on a Thursday evening. The place was buzzing. Starters were delicious - my tempura prawns were gigantic and the batter very light and crispy. Four of us ordered the monkfish and prawn curry and when it arrived, before I had a chance to taste mine my friend complained that hers wasn't hot enough at which, without question, a swarm of waiters swooped on our table and removed all of our dishes. V impressive. Additionally, they took our desserts off the bill for the inconvenience... now that's what I call service!

Scott’s – A Pleasant Surprise I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and service at Scott’s. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the caviar and oysters, exceptionally fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The attention to detail in both the food and overall experience made for a truly enjoyable evening. I’ll definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to any seafood lover.

A goto place for amazing seafood. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the lobster Thermidor and the specially seared sea bass, both cooked to perfection. The service was impeccable—attentive, courteous, and always ready to guide us through the specials of the day. The only drawback was that the adjacent tables were a bit too close together. Otherwise, a fantastic experience!

One of the Mayfair classics. They have a pretty good genre, which, although not quite what you would find in Pescaderías Coruñesas, does not disappoint. Comparisons are hateful, but in this league of restaurants it is inevitable for me to think of places like Alabaster and O'Pazo, and in terms of product, Galician quality is simply better. The attention, yes, is impeccable. You can choose between dining at a table or at a bar, which is quite lively, by the way. They have very nice details, like there being a couple of Mercedes E class at the door with drivers waiting. Others are not so much. That they charge 8 pounds for six petit fours counted seems to border on bad taste, and is something absolutely unthinkable in Spain. Although it is substantially more expensive than similar restaurants in Madrid, for London it is not crazy.

The food is always excellent (delicious prawn tempura and crab linguine), very good products, lovely decor, lovely atmosphere. Too bad to have removed the oyster tempuras from the menu. Still as expensive (but it is entirely possible to take 2 starters), especially the wines. Very friendly waitresses, but condescending butlers. Wine by the glass forgotten, and the bottle is not presented to you at the table to serve the glass of wine (expensive). As for cleaning, the tops of the dark red leather benches (along the walls) are white with dust. No doubt there was a shortage of dusters in London, necessary to adorn the hat of the Order of the Garter.

Have not looked, but suspect other reviews have mentioned that the acoustics are terrible and hard to hear across the table. I ordered the haddock, fish and chip style, and waiter said it was the best in London. The fish rested in the middle on the mushy peas, which were unpleasantly over-salted, and made that part of the fried fish soggy. The fish was good, but the next day I had better fish and chips at Heston's Perfectionist Cafe at Heathrow terminal 2 - it was superb / perfection. And much cheaper. I guess Heathrow is not in London, so maybe waiter is correct. Re service, at these prices there is no excuse for not refilling our water glasses, and after being given the dessert menu nobody came back and we had to ask 2 times to get our order taken.

Had a really lovely evening to celebrate a milestone birthday. Service and food exceptional. Lovely atmosphere. A special treat. Will definitely return. Oh and just a note on the Bakewell pudding. The BEST pudding I’ve ever had!!!!

This place is top class. My wife and I celebrated her 60th birthday with a meal here and it was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. Food was excellent, staff were first rate, in particular Serigne who made our day even more special. The atmosphere is buzzing as well. Not the cheapest place I’ve eaten but I’ll definitely be back.

London staple. You can’t go wrong with this place - go to place for seafood. I recommend fresh oysters and generally fresh seafood, Dover sole. Very fair pricing for the value and location.

Took a friend for her birthday, lovely restaurant, lobster and scallops were to die for!

Good Experience – Very busy the night we were there, so service was a little slow. Appetizers of caviar and octopus carpaccio were very good. Mains of lobster (recommend the full versus half portion) and Dover sole – very nicely done with a meuniere sauce. We skipped dessert.

My favourite London restaurant. Went here with friends and had amazing fish as always.

The service is always very good. One of the only professional places in London where waiting staff are fully trained. The food is good and the portions are filling. The menu could be more variant. Not many options for vegetarians or people who wants more vegetable in their food. I really recommend the monkfish and snail entree which comes with grilled Bonemarrow and rich enough to be a main if you’re not a big eater.

Michelin star feeling! Great ambiance, top notch sea food. We lived all forms of shrimps and steak was soo delicious as well. Scallops were tender and wonderfully cooked. Great option for special occasions!

Stunning ….. been many times but first time sitting at the Bar counter - our new fave seat location ! From arriving to leaving everyone were fabulous and soo attentive. Tomas our main chap was very entertaining and super professional. Definitely be back at the Bar !

A great place for dinner! My wife and I enjoyed the freshly prepared seafood, especially the grilled turbot. Delicious! The sommelier was very helpful too.

Love this place. Amazing atmosphere, fabulous food every time. Scott’s has a simple menu, fabulous fresh ingredients and great staff. The atmosphere is always buzzing lunch and dinner time. I will be back! Thanks again

Excellent service, consistent high quality food at market prices. One can get consistent high quality food ,these guys are professionals and have been around for long time and they are always very busy,Bravo to the staff and management
