It's hard to eat well in London, but I always like it here if I want seafood! The only negative is the service. If you're sitting on the terrace or at the back tables inside, the waiters often don't pay enough attention to you. We constantly wait for 15 minutes for the bill, several times we have to remind you of our orders, requests, or even personally approach the reception desk so that you can pay for the food. It spoils the overall impression

The most famous and luxurious fish restaurant in London is (Scott). What distinguishes this restaurant is not that it is luxurious and luxurious, but rather the quality of the food and service. In the literal sense of the word, delicious, seafood dishes are a delight and an embarrassment. Scott’s is truly a London institution, located in one of the most prestigious neighborhoods of the city, Mayfair, on I make a point to stop by on every visit ! The seats at the bar are truly the best. The cuisine is simple and of the highest quality, featuring exquisite oysters, lobster, and crab. The desserts are also excellent. The wine list and cocktails are of superior quality. It's an essential destination to see and be seen !

The Dover sole was ok nothing to write home about at £52 extremely bland.. the Veal cutlet at £57 was horrible tough chewy and bland on a positive note the cauliflower au gratin was quite good. Service was mediocre. I would not recommend this restaurant and oh tap water was £2 a glass per person really!! Wish I had researched and read the latest half a dozen reviews before I visited.

I don’t even know where to start. I left this place feeling so disappointed, as I had quite high expectations beforehand. Service: At such an expensive restaurant, you would expect to be served by a single waiter throughout your dining experience, offering a personalized touch and showing that they care. Instead, we had multiple waiters, which could have been acceptable, but their lack of knowledge about the menu was shocking. Additionally, we waited a long time for our plates to be cleared and for someone to take our order. When we inquired about the creamiest type of oysters on the menu, they initially suggested one kind, then went to the kitchen "to confirm," only to recommend the most expensive ones. I would have been fine with this if they were indeed good and creamy (spoiler: they weren’t). Food: We were given “complimentary” bread with butter at the beginning, only to find out later that it was charged. The sashimi, which looked appealing in pictures, was the worst I’ve eaten. The cuts were uneven, the pieces were tiny, and a few slices of yellowtail looked more like carpaccio than sashimi. The most disappointing aspect was the hard edges, suggesting they had been left out of the fridge for too long. As for the lobster, I ordered a whole grilled lobster, which was not only small but also overcooked, chewy, and excessively garlicky. Although we love garlic, it was just too much. My husband and I are fans of oysters and have tried many, but these were not creamy at all; they were just okay, similar to what you might find at a supermarket. If you’re looking for good oysters in London, I can give you a recommendation. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was nothing special, lacking any romantic ambiance. The carpet was very dirty, and the toilet was overflowing with paper in the bin. Price: We knew it would be expensive, but charging £30 for a 125ml glass of the cheapest Malbec and £17 for a cocktail of probably no more than 30ml was excessive. The glasses seemed intentionally dirty, adding to the disappointment. They charged a 14.5% service fee for what amounted to impersonal service and a complete lack of knowledge about the menu (other customers nearby asked about the type of fish on their plates, and the waiter couldn't answer). The total bill came to more than £400. I’m not opposed to paying for good service and quality food, but this place lacked both. RESOLUTION: After reaching out to the provided email, we promptly received a refund of our gift voucher amounting to £250. The response was quick, and they were genuinely eager to resolve the issue. They assured us of their best efforts to ensure a much better experience next time. I have updated my review to add two more stars solely in appreciation of the gesture extended by the Assistant General Manager of Scott's.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Scotts in Mayfair, and it was an exquisite culinary experience from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of Mayfair, this seafood haven offers a delightful combination of impeccable service, breathtaking ambiance, and, of course, exceptional cuisine. From the moment you enter, you’re enveloped in an atmosphere of sophistication and charm. The restaurant’s elegant decor sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience, with soft lighting and tasteful accents creating an inviting ambiance. But it’s the seafood that truly steals the show at Scotts. Each dish is a testament to the chef’s dedication to quality and innovation. From succulent oysters to plump lobster tails and delicate crudo, every bite is a celebration of the ocean’s bounty. The freshness and flavor of the seafood shine through in every dish, leaving a lasting impression on the palate.

A friend recommended I check out Scott’s as a seafood lover and I am very glad that I did. With respect to the food highlights, I found that the oyster selection was truly marvellous (particularly endorse the Louet-Feisser and Rossmore Native options). Additionally, the scallops were just divine. The restaurant is also shockingly reasonably priced, an order of magnitude lower than what I had come to expect in London. This perhaps may be a factor in how crowded it seems to tend to be. This fact leads to service that is rather chaotic and disorganized. I did appreciate being accommodated without a reservation with an outside table and my waiter was friendly and attentive, but I must say that the check-in process was really rather poor. I was greeted somewhat curtly, then asked to go speak to somebody else about availability rather than being guided there, then forced to wait for quite some time while the one poor receptionist dealt with other guests, answered phones, and ran around like a man on fire. Hardly a good first impression or the attentive service that one would hope for at a fine dining establishment. I would recommend that management look into improving their processes and refer to how greeting guests is handled at Core, Claude Bosi, or even Ducasse. Also unfortunately, there was an awful, blaring alarm that went on during my entire meal. While I do appreciate that my waiter explained that there was nothing that could be done about it, I was a bit surprised that no further gesture was made. I think I still have a bit of a headache.

The restaurant was not busy on arrival. Staff were falling over themselves. We ordered drinks and there was little break in a succession of waiting staff overzealously filling up our glasses. We then ordered our food, the starters arrived fairly promptly. Once finished the plates were taken and within 2 minutes our main courses arrived. No opportunity to sit back and digest. We mentioned this to a waitress who said she was going to let her manager know. We didn’t see her again. Plates were taken with the assumption we had finished when we hadn’t. When asked if everything had been ok we said the service was too brisk with no break between courses. The waiters reply was ‘we like our guests to have a continuous meal experience’! Highly over priced, and definitely over staffed to the point they were bumping into each other and hovering over guests. This was meant to be a special occasion and it failed all apart from the cloakroom attendant who was very pleasant and concerned that we were leaving having had a less than satisfactory time. Disappointed.

Poor atmosphere , drab and depressing We booked a romantic nights meal here and had been really looking forward to it . On arrival we entered the door and where surprised how unwelcoming it was … as we were taken to the bar on arrival , we made our way through the business men in suits and sat at our sloping barstool with our 2 inches of space to navigate . The paper menus arrived and we enjoyed the view of the frozen ice bar in front with a random Crab and prawn placed strategically in it . The non existent music was a joy to listen to adding to the non existent atmosphere. After examining the menu and deciding we could not weight up the price with the atmosphere, we left like a fox in the night with no one noticing or asking .

Once again, this proves that Mayfair has gone downhill, and Scotts adds to it. Years ago, it was a destination, and it was an absolute sadness to see it! Apart from the overall lack of attention, I guess due to us not being big spenders or maybe personal dislike, especially by their wine sommelier who just rolled his eyes and walked away before we finished. Looking around, all these Managers chat among themselves as they have better things to do, rather than looking after their serving team. We have just decided that trying to give feedback will not even be heard by seeing this whole race for bigger spenders and not showing any care to your loyal patrons. Never again, always excellent - now just not worth it.

Food: Tempura prawns were very tasty and was the best dish. The mixed oysters with sausages also splendid. Spicy salmon tartare was a bit tasteless and didn’t have much flavour. Dessert: Paris- Brest was super average with me having to pour as much chocolate sauce as I could because again, extremely average and bland. I have had better dessert elsewhere. Ambience- It was quite frustrating having my chair knocked every couple of minutes because staff kept hovering around to pick up orders to serve. As you can imagine, it has a weird set up in that the waiters pick up the food in the centre of the restaurant and are told which table to take the food to, so you’ve got lots of waiters hovering behind you ( behind my seat) waiting to pick up orders. The actual staff who are at front desk to assign table were nice. Same with our waiter who kindly moved us when I told him my chair was knocked and he was attentive. Staff cloak room- When I advised her I lost my card, she didn’t seem to bother helping me find it and just explained to ask the restaurant staff but they had already asked me to ask her so no one was actually helpful really until I spoke to someone else. I would say, pretty average and bland for what you are paying for and of course, you’re paying for the name. I would not return personally. Service was good and I didn’t feel rushed out, which made a change but when taking into account my experience as a whole- I would not return at all.

Being a High-End restaurant, Our expectations were beyond the roof. The food was good, but the service we recieved was absolutely horrible. I expect top notch service, especially from a place like this. Our waitress (blonde short cut hair), not only did she show some disliking to us, even though we saw her treating others amazingly (didn’t even break a smile while serving us) when we recieved the check, and asked for the service charge to be removed so I can add my own percentage, she started arguing with me in front of the whole restaurant. Extremely unprofessional, and when I told her I wanted to add a tip instead, she told how do i expect the servers to be paid? And kept asking why I don’t want to pay it. Ruined our night with her service. Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially with the unprofessionalism shown by staff. When we were heading out, we heard the reception staff gossping about the whole service charge shenanigan, and didn’t even greet us goodbye. Sadly, a dissapointment.

Nice place, very upscale. Unfortunately, we didn’t find the service very upscale. Our waiter was visibly not enjoying his job, which didn’t really add to our experience. Food was partly very good (scallops, tempura shrimp) but partly just average (shellfish bisque, fried sole fingers). Also the forcefully imposed 14.5% service charge is inappropriate. Just as it is the restaurant’s policy to add this unfriendly charge, it is my strict policy to deduct one star in the rating of any establishment that charges such random surcharges to its customers. In the end that means that this was originally a 4-star rating but with the deduction ends up being g 3-star.

We were greeted by the doorman who was welcoming and friendly. As we entered there was a cloak room available to leave your coats. Once we were allocated to our seat, I found it slightly tight squeeze. I asked the waiter if we can move to a nice round table which they kindly did. Cocktail list- limited choice. The lychee martini was tasty but a small portion for the price you are paying. Wine list - large variety available (of course as it would match the main course nicely) I asked for the Ray but if they could take out the bones. The waiter said they couldn’t do this which was unfortunate as the last time I came to Scott’s they did it for me. So instead I went with the Haddock & Sea Bass. Both tasted great cannot complain! We ordered the Burrata which is a bit bland. The atmosphere was great, waiter was lovely too! When I came here previously I would opt for the oysters which are great! We decided to visit Scott's after friends gave us a (generous) voucher for dinner. While the food is great, I am not sure that it deserves the price point it commands. While the oyster selection was very good, I would categorise the other dishes as fairly good - certainly not the excellent as the menu would lead you to believe. Service-wise, I could not but help feel I was on a production line to get done with as quickly as possible. And it's clear that the establishment is focused on squeezing as many patrons as possible per night into that area. If you visit, be prepared to become quite neighbourly to those sitting around you. Despite the voucher, we still had to contribute a substantial amount extra. Had I been saddled with the entire bill, I would probably have been disappointed. To say that Scott's is bad is inaccurate. Food is good. Service is prompt and the staff know their trade. But at this price point, I think it's also fair to say that something is missing.

We went yesterday 29/11/2023 to have dinner at Scott’s. Let me first start by saying that we go out all the time and my partner grew up in a restaurant and he is a proper foodie. The experience was horrific. We ordered a lot of food, starting by 6 oysters which one of them had a funny brown colour and taste strange. We also ordered the sashimi selection which salmon tartare was rotting, we complained and the chef agreed that something was wrong with it so they changed it. I mean, HOW on earth a restaurant like Scott’s gives their customers rancid food, the smell and the taste was disgusting. We also had the octopus carpaccio which was pretty average and a lobster which was ok. The best thing about the meal was the bread, shocking to say this, right? As soon as I got home I started feeling ill, of course I got food poisoning and spent the whole night in the toilet. We paid 360£ for a horrific meal and got food poisoning. This is the problem now, restaurants want to increase their profit so they buy lower quality food and increase their prices. This restaurant has gone downhill, WE WILL NEVER COME BACK 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮.

We have eaten at Scotts on several occasions, but this was a meal to forget. My wife and I chose Tempura prawns, and when they arrived there was 6 or 7 prawns about 10" in length stacked high on the plate. The starter resembled a main...

A wonderful restaurant in a central location in London. The whole experience is really quite glamorous. There doesn't appear to be a dress code, and the food is truly excellent. It is renowned for its fish cookery, although there are some limited meat dishes on the menu. The whole experience of eating there is suffused with luxury. Waiting staff are very professional and helpful. Can't wait to go back.

Second visit to Scott’s. Great reviews, HUGE reputation but it was soooo…. disappointing. I’m not writing this review to diss the restaurant. I’m genuinely writing it to provide constructive feedback, should they wish to take it on board. I’ll TRY and be brief. Good things...

We attended Scott's as we were looking for a good restaurant that offered seafood. The options were very good here and chose a few different dishes. The food was very delicious and would recommend the eating here. The only negative comment I had was the service was lacking a bit. We sat in the restaurant area and were placed in the corner. It took a while to get the waiter's attention and when we finished our meals, we had to wait 20 mins before we could get the bill as the waiters were stood together chatting.

Don't know if it was just a one off but very disappointing. Always wanted to go but wouldn't go back. Overpriced food. Extremely rushed service. Presentation of turbot was dreadful looked like it had been dropped on the floor. Didn't get chance to view it as a whole fish really as it was quickly whisked away. Better fish restaurants outside of London. Wouldn't recommend it your better off trying another establishment to be honest.

Lovely seafood restaurant, great for a special occasion. The octopus carpaccio and lobster thermidor were standouts, really well made. The honeycomb ice cream was the cherry on top, and was surprisingly good, accompanied by rich thick chocolate sauce and presented really well. Service was wonderful throughout. Prices are as expected for Mayfair.

Lobster Thermidor was very good, as were the slip soles. Perfectly cooked. The Korean prawns were over cooked and chewy. Service was generally good but dropped off towards the end.

My dining experience at Scott’s London, a gem in the heart of Mayfair and a mere 10 minutes walk from the serene Hyde Park, was nothing short of extraordinary. This beautiful restaurant captivates with its blend of sophistication and comfort, setting the stage for a memorable meal. The culinary prowess of Scott’s shone through every dish. The Dover Sole with butter was a revelation, its delicate flavor and perfectly flaky texture harmonizing beautifully with the rich butter. The fried oysters were a standout, offering a delightful crunch and a burst of the sea with each bite. Equally impressive were the jumbo shrimps tempura, their light and crispy coating enveloping the succulent shrimp within. Dessert was a crowning glory, with the Crème Brûlée being a must-try. Its creamy custard base and perfectly caramelized top made each spoonful a moment to savor. Service at Scott’s was impeccable, adding to the overall excellence of the evening. The staff’s attentiveness and knowledge elevated the dining experience. Booking ahead is essential to secure a spot in this sought-after venue, and I highly recommend opting for an outdoor spot if the weather permits, to enjoy the ambiance of Mayfair.
