Best fish and chips I’ve had for a while. Don’t normally eat the batter, but it was so light and crispy. Lovely music playing too!

Great food- not your usual stodgy fish and chips- freshly cooked and other tasty, locally caught options instead of just battered fish. Also great chips and great service. Loved it.

One of the best we had on our trip to Torquay during the last week of August , had multiple takeaways every other day and it was always top quality .Fish and chips ,salt and pepper squid ,prawns and sausages all extremely fresh , crisp and delicious each time .Would definitely recommend .

Lovely friendly but professional staff my husband and I had prime cod and chips with a lemon wedge bread and butter I had tartare sauce hubby had mushy peas the meal was cooked to perfection the fish was moist in a light crispy batter with piping hot chips all freshly cooked to order we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will return when in the area highly recommend you will not be disappointed

Called in after a day trip to Dartmouth on the Dart Explorer and it was the wonderful smell of fish and chips that drew me in. Was welcomed by a young man who let me choose a table and brought me the menus. So much variety of freshly caught fish and I ordered a small battered Cod and Chips with Mushy Peas. A double gin of Salcombe Dry Gin was also needed. My drink arrived promptly and not long after my food arrived. It looked very appetising and I tucked in straight away. The batter on the fish was light and crispy, and the Cod was flakey and beautiful. I really enjoyed the food, it’s a lovely restaurant with good staff. Highly recommend.

Really super staff and still open for a snacky late dinner at 8pm by the sea - the only chippy tea I could find! Top recommendation. The best chips I’ve had.

Best fish and chips I've had to date, super flaky fish, crispy buttery batter and perfectly crispy chips. Staff here are so welcoming and friendly, service was top notch. Atmosphere is perfect, very calm, classic music playing that puts you in a great mood. 5 stars since that's the most I could give. If I could give more I would!

Quite honestly the best fish and chips I've had in my life. Crispy batter, none of that mushy stuff. Light but filling fish, not greasy, and absolutely delicious. Unlimited chips with everything is certainly a bonus I cashed in on. If you're about, do yourself a favour and come here.

Excellent fish and chips - chose the traditional cod fish option although they had haddock and other catch of the day options. Fish was very fresh, batter excellent and fries tasty - enjoyed every last bite.

Despite the place being very busy! The staff were very helpful. The food ordered was grilled cod & chips, and battered cod and chips both were divine. UNLIMITED chips = YES PLEASE! The chips were fresh, yummy, and not oily at all.

Can't speak too highly of this place. Food and service so good! Grilled cod and grilled sea bass cooked perfectly and served hot. Freshly cooked chips too. Worth the price though as not cheap as chips.

Friendly service. The price came to £40 for one large fish and chips, small fish and chips,and a large piece of fish with two pots of curry sauce. It was one of the best fish and chips we have ever eaten. Fresh and tasty. Really enjoyed the food and well worth the visit.

Visited today and we ordered cod and chips with unlimited chips deal. Food was extremely good as was the service. Asked for extra chips and although they took a while they were worth the wait as freshly cooked. All in all 3 meals with additional curry sauce and 3 drinks good value at £43.90

This was easily the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very very long time, if not ever. Absolutely stunning light batter on the cod, it flaked perfectly. Seasoned perfectly. The chips were crispy and tasty! We will be back as this was a special meal. It was great value for money too!

Simply the best fish and chips I've ever had. Can accommodate gluten free with certain items, although not able to guarantee that cross contamination won't occur. Clean establishment with helpful staff. Slightly long wait times but I can't rate the flavour and service high enough.

Lovely fish and chip shop that serves usual fayre. I regret not sticking to traditional fish and chips and went for a platter of various fish choices. A bit disappointing although chips are tasty and batter is well seasoned. So would recommend the traditional food to eat or takeaway.

Lovely friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Very disappointed by the food. The char grilled monkfish consisted of the smallest tails I had ever seen, they were like miniature fish fingers, the size of your middle finger and being so small were dried and rubbery. The salt and pepper squid consisted of coated rings, that tasted like they had been bought in as frozen rings, virtually no taste and quite rubbery. The goujons of fish were very good and 10 times bigger than the monkfish! The mushy peas were weirdly grey. What can I say - lovely staff but poor. A lovely touch was the refill chips that were offered, which were very tasty.

Well, I've been to a hell of a lot of fish and chips shops and restaurants in my 58 years. Not many better than this one. The food was perfect. Starters of Squid and King Prawns were absolutely fantastic. The Fish and Chips, stunningly good. Hot, beautifully cooked, the fish batter was so good, and the chips lovely and fluffy and crisp. Even the bread and butter was excellent! Service was fantastic, such a lovely, engaging and friendly lady. Thank you Saltwater. Keep doing what you do. A bonus 6th star from me! 🌟

Was waiting all night for my delivery from just eat. Ordered a burger and chips that was it, and staying locally. When the food eventually turned up it was warm.

The food in here was unreal, had the battered cod and chips (which are unlimited!) and the fish was so nice, cooked fresh to order. One of the best fish lunches I have ever had. Customer service was also really on point!

Absolutely delicious - we stayed in Torquay for a week and visited here twice, it was so good. Crisp, light batter, beautifully fresh fish, nice atmosphere and good service.

The two families had a great meal. The downside is that the table is small so you can't sit together... . ㅠ

It was the most beautiful, freshly cooked fish and chips I've had in 30 years. I gone off fish, but this fish and chip shop is the best. I wish I lived there just to have this beautiful cooked fresh fish. We ate here twice, if we found it early we would of been back, the food is delicious the feta tomato and onion salad was so good. Best fish and chips I've ever had, brilliant service as well

Not the best experience here. The fish in all fairness was faultless and delicious. The chips were very mediocre and not the standard I’d expect for a restaurant and for the price. A long wait for a standard meal that is their niche business. 50 minutes wait from ordering tho to be fair there was a single starter ordered too. The reason for delay was a little lame “their order/delivery service was very busy” . They did knock 10% off the bill as a gesture but overall not a great experience.

Best quality fish and chips, which explains the queues. Not much seating space so take away can be a better option.

You must insure all teams are there. Drivers do not wait so you can’t check.

Food was cold, dripping in oil and the portions were extremely small. The curry sauce pot was half full. Entire meal went into the bin! I would not recommend.

What a fabulous fish n chips restaurant!! The best in Devon. The young gentleman tonight was great, friendly and happy. So polite great with my boys. The rest of the staff were kind too, always making sure we were okay or if we needed anything. The food was so good, and tasty. The boys loved their food, fish cakes went down well. The place is clean and update which is a big plus for a fish and chips. Reasonable priced, family friendly! Definitely recommend. It’s super difficult these days just to afford and enjoy to go out and this was worth it!!

Delivery driver had a go at me because HIS gps couldnt find my house! Chips are chewy, curry sauce is more like thin soup. Wont bother from gere next time. Nearly 20 quid for large chips, large sausage small sausage and curry sauce

Superb fish and chips cooked to your liking. Chip top up as much as you like bot after the first plate full, you will not have room for more. Licensed restaurant. Gets very busy at peak times. Recommended.

Decided to sit in the restaurant. Both staff who looked after us were fab Fair prices and excellent food I started with whitebait and then catch of the day - monkfish Only here as tourist wish this place was near where i live.

Lovely chippy. Food was great, service was a little slow and they young man forgot our drinks and by the time we had them we'd finished eating and were extremely thirsty 🙃 however we let it ho because it was pretty busy. Gluten free menu 👍🏻

Terrible service. Delivery took over an hour and a quarter. It arrived by bicycle and was luke warm by the time I got it. Ridiculous!!

We just happened to drop by in the evening and got a free table. The atmosphere was not inviting, many people just took their food to go and didn't stay in the restaurant. It did get busy and the waiters were very busy. We had Hake and Monkfish, both very well prepared. Thanks!

We have had the best fish and chips here. Highly recommend large cod and chips and treat yourself to home made mushy peas. Also had a pint of Devon Rock lager to wash it all down as you do. Enjoy and cheers.

Really enjoyed our recent visit here for lunch. Food delicious and fresh. Very light and satisfying not like the stodgy feeling you can get after a fish and chip meal. Lovely to see my son eating ‘proper’ fish. Liked the catch of the day menu and fact it described all the different fish. Great service. We all loved the decor inside too.

We walked in and got a table. Food was excellent, nice size portion and you are asked if you want more chips. Big selection of different fish and also non fish options. The cod was excellent as was the chicken burger. A piece of chicken with salad and mayo. Staff were happy and friendly. Two meals and two drinks was just under £45.00.

Was recommended by friends to come here, close to the marina. You could have fish cooked in different ways, but I'm sure the battered version would be just as tasty as grilled and unlimited chips!!! Homemade mushy peas was good too.

Called in here for lunch and ordered the small Cod Chips and Mushy Peas. It came well presented and tasted really.

Driver had no idea where he was going. Could not understand directions. Shouted on the phone but polite in person. Food soggy and cold. Sausage okay. Never again.

Really lovely fish and chips restaurant. They were so lovely and kindly let us come in with our dog (who is well behaved). Food was piping hot and so fresh cooked. Really could’t fault anything about this place! Accommodated me as I just fancied some chips and a salad which they sorted out without any issues. Ordered cod and chips for my partner and me, service was good, however the food was awful, the chips were limp and extremely greasy and the cod was so greasy we stripped off the batter to eat it, not what you expect, the price was £25.00 for 2 meals we ate little of. An off day perhaps. But disappointing.

Honestly the best fish and chips we’ve ever had!! Everything about it was amazing, kids meals were great too, good portion sizes & really fresh food. What a find. I was looking for a fish restaurant that catered gluten free fish and chips. The food was freshly cooked, plentiful and tasted amazing. One of the group was gluten free and he was well catered for. Service was amazing. We would deffo recommend and we will be back, that is a promise.

What a delightful supper, we had both the cod and haddock in fine batter well cooked and crispy. Certainly recommend visiting this fish and chip shop. Reminded me of good traditional fish and chips with excellent service.

I ordered the lunch deal for £15.95 including hot drink, I wasn't disappointed very tasty, nice bit of cod and perfectly crispy batter, one of the best fish & chips I've had in a while! And also the halloumi fries were yum too !😋

Not the best experience due to long delay on order arriving; it took a staggering two and a half hours, a ruined lunch, won't be rushing to order again, and the food was cold and just ok when heated, no wow factor, overall disappointing
