Mollys Paignton in Torbay

We popped in for hot drinks and cake. As a family we ordered a combination of hot chocolates and a latte. Families reviews of hot chocolate were 👌- very friendly staff even made a kids version (more milk) which meant our troopers could enjoy their drinks at the same time as us. Now onto the cakes - rocky road was thoroughly enjoyed and recommend. Despite the weather ☔️ (typical Easter weather) being harbour side and sea in view is perfect - the set up is great with an awning type building and patio / light heaters at the ready!

Held my sisters wake at Mollys. The staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful. Everyone said how lovely the food was. All of it was presented well. They even catered for my Gluten Free friends who were very impressed with their food. Just wish the weather had been better🌧️☔. Mollys is in a perfect setting on the harbour and I for one will definitely be returning. Thank you Tracey and your team.

Not been since pre Covid, and decided to pop over for a Valentine's date night as I heard it had a makeover, it was wonderful last time, but wow amazing this visit, clean and fresh. Was greeted with a friendly smile show straight away to table, service throughout the evening was exceptional plenty of staff looking after the tables. Food was spot on, left feeling very pleased with our valentines choice, thanks to the team who made it special. WE WILL BE BACK. Would definitely recommend to friends.

Four of us had a meal last Thursday evening. As usual the service and food were excellent. A lovely setting with magnificent views and a wonderful ambience. We will be back soon. 👍

Lovely staff, friendly and attentive but not overly in your face. Helpful to requests. Dog friendly in the bar downstairs 👍. Food was great. As a vegan I appreciated the banana blossom fish & chips ( though when I make it I wrap it in nori & squeeze lemon on it before dipping in the batter, gives a ‘sea’ flavour) with vegan tartare sauce & mushy peas, yum! Would definitely recommend a visit. Lovely setting, interior & sea views. What more could you want 😂? Didn’t ‘star’ ATM as I wasn’t sure what it was???

4 of us went for lunch and found the venue to be great. Service was very good and attentive with Sophie S being a little star.

Excellent, friendly and helpful service, without being too pressing. Food was delicious, promptly served and of high quality. I'm visiting the area and would definitely revisit if I come again. I would highly recommend the Harbour Light, a lovely cosy venue,, pleasing decor and lots of space.

We visited on Friday evening and the atmosphere and decor was beautiful. It was a really busy night and the servers were rushed off their feet, despite this they delivered first class service, they couldn’t do anymore to help and make the experience really lovely. The food was amazing. We were served by Steph and Libby and they always had a friendly smile on their face. Would highly recommend visiting

A lovely cafe with friendly staff. I met up with a friend and had coffee with a Camplins Cake. It was delicious. Lovely views and patio heaters to keep warm.

Gastro pub of St Austell brewery

20 min wait for drinks after ordering, 45min wait for food which was lovely when it came. They said they were unexpectedly short staffed but I have heard one other person complain about waits.

Lunch Friday afternoon of the 19th Jan ‘24 In restaurant. X2 fish and chips plus wine, with coffees after - delicious The staff are so accommodating and attentive which comes accross naturally - please thank the staff for our great lunchtime treat

The food and service were exemplary, a lovely setting too, near the harbour. Would highly recommend that you make this a place to visit for some great food.

Had a wonderful meal with my wife. Couldn't fault anything.

Wide variety of meals and drinks available, lots of seating, very well presented, nice environment . Can imagine would be extremely nice in the summer when you can sit outside. we went for the roast dinner which was very nice. only comment would be that we didn't get any parsnips like our friends had when they went and that they could have been a bit more generous with the veg, as only had half a florette of broccoli.

Went here for a quick take away coffee on Boxing Day. Coffee was awful and ended up throwing all three away. All out of a machine. No oat milk so just gave it to us in a separate cup which was then all oily on top of the coffee. As a coffee shop could do way much better.

We both had a lovely meal. Delicious piece of hake fillet and great chips. My partner (vegan) chose the banana blossom fish substitute which was also very tasty. The batter was crisp and light, the mushy peas were great. The food was hot when it came to the table.

We had an absolutely fantastic evening on the 21 Dec 23. Food and service was excellent so efficent, the staff were exceptional. Well done we will no doubt be back next year.

My wife and I dined here recently for our anniversary, and it was delightful. The service was excellent, and the food was magnificent. We had the squid and prawn linguine, and it was perfectly cooked. We will most certainly be returning.

Had a fantastic meal at Harbour Light from the Festive menu. Duck liver mousse followed by Roast Turkey, great prosecco and Marlborough white wine. Great service, fantastic Christmassy atmosphere and special mention to Katie, Steff and Eric in the kitchen. Going back next week! 😁

The place had made a big effort with their Christmas decorations. We were there on a Tuesday night, so the atmosphere lacked a little due to the number of diners. The veg with two of our mains was good variety wise, but didn't look freshly cooked - carrots sad and limp. Sprouts wonderful. The young staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us.

Just such a great place to go for a drink or a bite to eat. Food fantastic. Great drinks service just fantastic would highly recommend

Update on my review. The seafood platter is back on the menu and it was really delicious. More than enough food for 2 and everything was perfect including the price. Great food and again great location. Fish and chips where amazing but do wish the seafood platter was back on the menu. Still this is only an observation not a criticism. Would definitely recommend for a meal or just a few drinks.

Had a Sunday roast here, the beef was so tough we couldn’t cut it, the lamb was very fatty very disappointing

Harbour Light restaurant in Paignton is a true gem! I had the pleasure of dining there recently and was blown away by the excellent service provided by Catherine and Lauren. Their warm and attentive care made the evening even more special. The food, prepared by Will and the talented kitchen team, was absolutely delicious. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece that left me craving for more. I can't recommend this restaurant enough – a 5-star experience in every way!

We phoned on Sunday evening. Booked a table for 4 with our dog. The waitress was extremely helpful. My wife's Mother and Father are quite deaf. Mother is also a celiac. No problem at all. We had lunch and ordered a couple of starters; Vegan Pea Ravioli and Squid. Added chips. Absolutely gorgeous. We'd stayed in Dartmouth for a long weekend and this was the best meal we had

First visit to Harbour Light for my husband and I last night and what a pleasure. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Much bigger that it looks from the outside and nice decor and ambiance. We had mussels and arancini to start followed by chicken supreme and hake. Everything was perfect, absolutely delicious and plenty of it we didn’t have any room for dessert. Wish I’d got our waiters name so I could mention him on here as he went above and beyond, so helpful. Well done to the management excellent experience from start to finish and we will definitely return and recommend 🤩

Absolutely love this pub. Went 3 times in a week we loved it so much. Great staff, nice clean and pretty. Food superb. We go back next year.

We had a lovely meal here. Our waiter was called Obed and he was fantastic, a real asset to this establishment. Genuine hospitality and friendly service. We had the seafood sharing board as a main and it was delicious, plenty for the two of us with a few glasses of wine alongside. We have been a few times before, but we will definitely be back! Thankyou for a lovely evening.

A great restaurant. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We had some of the specials, which was honestly some of the best food we have ever had. The service was also spot on. Everyone seemed so friendly, which added to making the meal special. We would most certainly come back again.

Obez was charming, made our evening. The restaurant interior is lively & welcoming. The shiraz was delicious, the squid really tender & tasty. Burger OK but a bit dry. Would choose something else next time. My daughter in law had marvellous muscles, a huge plateful. All together, a lovely evening. Thank you.

Great location. Sat on the balcony, with loads of sun, perfect to people watch and got decent music from band playing 2 doors down, but this place had no music or atmosphere. Waited 10 minutes at the bar to be told in a very patronising way that it's table service only. Put signs up everywhere then, it's a tourist area and it's probably how u make lots of money, so please treat people right. I am irish and live in London, these are London prices, that was fine as I enjoyed the sun and balcony and music from pub 2 doors down, loved people watching. Waitresses upstairs young and pretty and kind and just really sweet girls.
