Amazing fish and chips, curry sauce is to die for, the girls work hard and are lovely. This is the best fish and chip shop nn the bay and bonus is it's reasonably priced.My go to local, keep up the good work 👍

A friend bought me along to try the cod and chips. Will be coming back best cod and chips around fresh and well cooked to perfection. Staff friendly thank you for coming in and dining nice friendly atmosphere.

First time visit and not the last, only takeaway of battered sausage and normal sausage, with chips but it was lovely and fresh, piping hot, very reasonably priced sat on the wall overlooking the marina, watch out for seagulls!

Well done all there. Quality from entering to eating. All our party including grandchildren loved this place and the beautiful location. This is a must if in Torquay harbour. Trust me

Great quality and affordable prices, a great option compared to other fish and chip restaurants in the area that charge almost double!

On holiday in Torquay 14/8/24 at around 12.30 pm We sat at the harbour & fancied sharing a bag of chips, so we walked across the road & just decided to sit in & have one haddock 🐟 < fish supper & a can of diet coke to share & i thought 🤔 that we in Scotland done the best 🐟 suppers, but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case. I could hardly believe how smooth & crispy the batter was on the fish & the chips weren't soggy or greasy & of course neither was the haddock. We could have had cod, but we Scots like our haddock. SO now you all know where to go for a reasonably priced fish supper 👍 😁 We didn't want to eat too much as we would be going back to our hotel for our dinner.

Delicious fish and chips with a great cuppa in a window table. Delightful staff and great value- especially the pensioner special. Highly recommended.

£5.50 for mini cod and chips, won't get better price anywhere else! Feeds you up nicely for lunch and very good quality, we visited twice during our stay in Torquay!

Excellent fish and chips but no easy access to toilet if you have a disability

Felt traditional which was lovely while down at the coast. Food was tasty and staff where nice even though they were busy rush off their feet. If there is a queue, stay, it's worth the wait

Cod and Chips £9.50, worth it. Cooked to order, fresh and hot. Curry sauce excellent also. Staff friendly and helpful. Very reasonable prices and great location.

Food quality is not the best - chips were really nice and well cooked but the fish batter is pretty bad quality and quite greasy. Curry sauce was also oddly sweet.

The chips were horrible!! Like they haven’t changed their oil for months, ours went straight in the bin! And the curry sauce, not sure what it’s meant to be but wasn’t curry sauce! We went quite late and the lady just shouts at everyone to not sit down! I wouldn’t go there again on a hurry!!

Subject: Disappointing Visit Today I visited your establishment today at around 2 o'clock, as my family and I have done for the last 9 or possibly 10 years. Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with the quality of the food we received. The fish was very greasy, with a thick batter that was raw inside. The chips were not enjoyable, and the curry sauce was unpleasant. It was evident that nothing was cooked to order as it had been in the past. It is a shame to see a decline in the standard of your food, as you were once considered one of the best in Torquay.

Great fish and chips, good value for money.

Food was OK, albeit the hair I found, and fish was soggy and chips were below average quality. Cleanliness was lacking both inside and out. The tables were dirty the condiments and the caddy they were in was filthy. The outside was not very clean either. Service was lacklustre, by people who looked miserable and could not be bothered. Leaving the atmosphere dull and dreary.

The prices are good, portion size is generous, staff are pleasant, range is good, location harbor side is traditional but unfortunately the food was quite disappointing----Cod was saturated with fat I mean dripping off as you tried to eat, the chips were soggy not crispy, the actual flavor was enjoyable so I would suggest just not cooked long enough, maybe. The mushy peas I'm sure were just from a can but as we all know when the food you purchased is below expectation it all starts to get negatively critiqued. I must say it was very busy even on Monday lunch time so maybe I was just the unfortunate customer.

Beautiful fish and chips, had a small wait but well worth it, on holiday here staying at Beverly park Paignton and doing the usual holiday stuff and stopped for a lovely traditional meal.

One of the best chippies I’ve ever been to! The portion sizes are generous, every thing is freshly cooked to order and it is excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend!

we live locally and to put this review in context we normally and rightfully say Hanburys fish and chips are brilliant, and they are, but ...... we were reminded on a visit this week to eat fish and chips out of the box sitting on the side of the harbour that in fact this place makes the absolute best fish and chips, they apparently use a different oil for frying, but whatever it is it is great, also the batter on the fish was super fine and tasty, can't comment on the eating in experience as we've never done it but the take away is seriously the best.

The prices are budget-friendly, but the quality reflects it. Disappointingly, they use frozen chips, which lacks the freshness and flavor you'd hope for in a great British chippy. It's alright if you're on a tight budget and craving some comfort food, but don't expect anything exceptional.

Big queue outside, but staff really fast and well organised, so goes very quickly. You pay and get a number and get called when Yr number is ready. Staff all really friendly and welcoming. Best chips I have ever had, proper chips. Veggie burger tasty, would be good to have some veggie fish and veggie battered sausage on the menu. Recommend this place 💯.

Fish was ok, batter not good at all. Chips were decent 👍 it’s an ok fish and chips shop definitely had better. The staff were friendly and it obviously has a decent name as it filled up while we were there for lunch.

No sauces, don’t tell you then have minimum spend, long wait and bad chips

As locals we popped in here on 2 occasions. Both times we were met with a sulky face and rude and abrupt staff. We won’t be returning. Best walk down the road a little bit to Saltwater or Rockfish which is a much better experience !!

Been coming here since it opened. Not been for a few years so tried it yesterday. Very good fish and chips, staff were friendly and polite. Much better value than rockfish.

Myself and my partner visited 19/7/23 and both had fish chips mushy peas and a cup of tea. Can I say it was amazing and great value for money. The staff were friendly and it was very clean. I would highly recommend this establishment to all who enjoy a good meal at great prices.

Happened alone this place yesterday had the mini fish and chips which was fantastic any great value definitely recommended to any one and ever one just try it you won’t by disappointed trust me much bigger than the name suggests mini fish and chips chips was a great portion on this occasion so much so I’m looking forward to having it again today

Staff was uninviting at first. Tables were dirty and the floor was sticky. However the food came quite fast which is a plus. It was incredibly oily and my kids felt really unwell after we ate there.

Cod and chips at a great price of £9.50 to eat in. I had a curry sauce with mine which was lovely. When I first saw the chips I thought not sure about these but they were the best I have had for many years. Fantastic meal and will definitely eat there again when we are down that way.

Very rude inexperienced staff who cannot handle a busy chip shop. Fish nothing special, chips alright. Rudely told to wait outside once taken your money and wait to be called. People are on holiday and should be treated friendlier.

I Enjoyed the meal I was hungry spotted a table at the back of the restaurant a two seater so ordered at the till wanted haddock they had sold out only cod had it with chips and mushy peas not a bad meal with a cold can of coke the bill came to £12.20 not bad value considering the location on the harbour cracking views I was happy 😀

By far the best cod we have had in a long time. Freshly dropped into the fryer when ordered, it was white, meaty and super tasty in crisp batter. Lovely.

We went to this place because No. 7 was closed. It's rated 4.6 overall, but in my opinion, the quality was not there. Mind you, I have a high standard when it comes to fish and chips. I tried to order some calamari rings and cod bites, but the very inexperienced cashier said it wasn't possible. Another member of staff overheard and suggested the fisherman's basket that includes these... I agreed. We also ordered a chip butty, and cod and chips. Overall, the food quality was average. I don't know why but a lot of English chippies do not make good chips. They don't have the crisp crunch attainable by some potato preparation methods. The cod was fresh and cooked perfectly, calamari was also good. Unfortunately, presentation was lackluster, no sauces offered and no fresh lemon. The squid was also old and had that bitter aftertaste. Price-tag was cheap by modern standards just under £20 all up.

I have been a Few Times because they do The Best Fresh Haddock and Chips in Torquay. I would Definitely recommend this Little Shop 😎👌

The most amazing fish and chips EVER!!!!!!! So good in fact I visited multiple times during our stay in Torquay. £4.80 for the Freshest Fish and juicy chips. ABSOLUTE BARGAIN. IF I'm ever in TORQUAY again I will 1 billion percent visit again.

Would definitely recommend this chippy. Just like someone els who has commented I had paying for over priced fish and Chips. This place is very reasonable fish is cooked fresh when ordered and is so tasty lovely fresh chips no grease. would definately go there again lovey location too.

Decided to try out the Fish and Chips while visiting the area. Unfortunately Haddock wasn't available so Cod was the delicacy.... food cooked to order, chips were okay but the batter for the fish and pea fritter were a bit meh and too greasy... staff were friendly and polite tho!

Fish was amazing not to much batter and crispy chips were nice and fresh and chunky all in all definitely will come back and would recommend price's were good and portions big thank you for filling my belly

Very reasonably priced, mini cod & chips was £4.80. Good selection of fish too. I opted for the large cod & chips, while my wife had the mini. My wife loved the thinly battered cod, whereas I wasn't such a fan. The fish was nice and fluffy, though and the chips were good too. Well worth a visit, especially for the price!

First time visit. Was not disappointed. Very fair prices and good quality produce. A nice and clean area to sit indoors with views of the harbour. I had cod and chips. The cod was so fresh and tasty. I don't normally eat the batter of fish but this was lovely. Wasn't greasy at all. It complimented the fish. Very nice chips too with pot of fresh curry sauce. Definitely worth coming here 👍🏼👍🏼😊

Visited now a couple of times and it's usually just at the right time of not being too busy. This time we visited jubilee wk end just after the red arrows had performed outside for the air show, we manages to get a table. Only has a small seating area, so more a take out place but perfectly adequate. We always opt for the small portion of fish and chips with a cup of tea and it's just perfect. Fish is perfectly cooked and tasty, chips are lovely and the mushy peas add the extra bit of wow. Also to note and applaud, is that the staff all look very young yet always do great welcoming speedy professional service. They had a rush of people and a queue, but service didn't falter. Keep it up team.

Had fish and chips there yesterday and was one of the best fish I had ever eaten! The batter was done to perfection and the cod was extremely white. Sometimes fish can be bland but this had so much flavour I had a mini cod and chips for such a reasonable price and great portion! Highly recommended to all my friends and family who visit Torquay!

The best Fish and Chip shop in Torbay. We can only speak from personal experience but every time it's been perfect unlike most of the others. As good as Hanburys and half the price.

Nice place nice food well worth a visit

Once again a wonderful experience. Great customer service, polite staff, well cooked and presented food and a pleasant view over the harbour. What more could one ask for? I have become a regular customer, usually on Fridays and will continue to be so, hopefully for a long time to come.
