WOW - we booked in for a meal, and was not expecting what we got. We ordered the "2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £35". It was the most delicious steak meal either of us has ever had - cooked perfectly, and the peppercorn sauce and extras on the plate absolutely delicious. We followed with a sticky toffee pudding - BEST EVER. So obviously home made. The service was excellent and friendly. We are so disappointed that we are only in the area for a week. Thank you White Hart - we haven't stopped raving about you since - much to the annoyance of our family and friends :). See you again.

Decent chicken shish with yoghurt. Plenty of food and great bread. Comes at a price but what doesn't nowadays.

I came here for lunch with my mother and daughter, the service was exceptionally good, we had a super friendly and attentive host. We ordered the risotto which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. I ordered a glass of the pinot noir which was also reasonably priced for the size and fresh. I would definitely return and recommend. It seems the more negative reviews are around busy periods so maybe that's a staffing issue, but my experience was exemplary.

We really like this pub and always eat here when in the area. We are here last night and as always the food was excellent. We had Vegan Meatballs and Halloumi chips to start, both yummy. Followed by Halloumi and chips for my husband and Cod and chips for myself. Both very good. Very filling too. Our server who I think was called Melissa was really nice and so good at her job. An excellent communicator. I cannot recommend this pub highly enough.

Ordered through Uber eats, after an hour which I thought was a reasonable time since ordering gone midnight but my food hasn’t arrived so requested a new estimated delivery time through Uber eats, the store never responded, so I call the store. I’m greeted with the most unpleasant WHAT in an aggressive tone. After explaining my situation I’m screamed at to call back not on no caller ID I apologise for this and said I can give them my number if it’s easier then hanging up and calling again, there was no response and the man hung up on me. I put my caller ID on and call back like they asked again I’m greeted with the unpleasant aggressive WHAT, I explain I just called and calling back like requested. After taking a few more details like where I live and how I ordered he screams at me to Wait, for about five minutes I’m sat with no one talking and can hear aggressive screaming in a foreign language, he comes back and says the driver went home good bye and hung up. So about ten minutes later I call back he screams at me to stop calling I asked him not to raise his voice at me and asked if we can sort this issue out, not once was an apology made and he just hung up once again. Since my number has been blocked and no food arrived at my door.

A lovely lunch out , attentive staff and speedy service . Good home cooked pub food. We’ve visited a couple of times and have never been disappointed. Best place in the village for food .

Found this little gem of a coffee shop on a wet morning , Batista and staff were friendly and lovey coffee Didn't have food so can't comment Will return

What an absolute nightmare, we used this place a while back and it was 5 star, we used it tonight and what an absolute nightmare, the driver couldn't find our address which meant our food arrived cold. For reference we are right on the main road in a very easy to spot distinctive house around 500m from the take away. We then opened the pizza to find the wife's was missing toppings we paid extra and mine was just missing topping, one triangle of the pizza didn't even have sauce, it had coloured the bread, had no cheese on at all and for a pizza that should have had spicy beef, chicken ham onions and jalapenos there was nothing on it. So little topping it was just a dry disk of brittle crust only fit for the bin. Which is exactly where it ended up

We have had a fantastic stay and dining experience at the Hawkenbury. Staff are friendly and chatty. The breakfasts are great. Loved the variety in the continual breakfast. The cooked breakfast was also superb. We dined in the restaurant on the first day of the new Summer menu. The new menu was the best pub menu we’ve seen in our 5 weeks travelling around the UK. Pub favourites plus some interesting other options. Reasonable prices too. My husband was thrilled to see mussels on the menu, and it was a generous serve. My pasta dish was delicious and perfectly cooked. Overall the food is fresh and tasty and is obviously made with quality ingredients. The service is fast and friendly. One of the best things is the Inn’s cat, who is happy to be petted at all times.

Why is it that dog owners find it difficult to understand that all people should like dogs I for one don't want dogs in a pub or restaurant where I am eating Steve j

This used to be my favourite local pub. But now it’s £14 for a large glass of wine I won’t be returning . London pubs, please understand the more you increase your prices the less people will come. Keep your prices modest and we will stay, and eventually spend more. No brainer.

After being our go-to restaurant for family get-togethers for about 25 yrs, we are sorry that Alphonso is retiring and moving back to Puglia. We will miss you. On Sunday lunchtime the restaurant was packed with friends and family to say goodbye to a well-loved institution. We hope that the new owners will continue your tradition for high quality and good value when they open in November.

very over priced . Same as other low standard kebabs but more expensive . Thought that as it is was a little more expensive there would be a better quality. Wrong
