The best restaurants serving Other european-cuisines food in York Yorkshire and The Humber

Te encontramos accidentalmente hace un par de semanas en be & Q y el dulce langos era tan encantador. Como estábamos en Clifton Moor de nuevo, nos detuvimos para probar una versión salada. El halloumi langos era increíble y las coberturas eran tan frescas. Sin duda volveremos de nuevo, pero desafortunadamente vivimos fuera de York, así que no tienda a ir a Clifton Moor tan a menudo. What a fantastic find, the service was incredible, the space was light and airy and well thought out. The food was absolutely incredible. We love our Michelin star food , this was definitely Michelin star quality and really inexpensive. I would have paid double for the food. The team from start to finish where knowledgeable , friendly and made the experience unforgettable. We suggested the owner put up his prices. The food was worth far more than he was charging.

A great little place for breakfast or a sweet treat! The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and there's plenty of choice on the menu with something for everybody (including vegan diners!)

This place is nice overall but 2 glaring errors made me feel like it was necessary to write this review. Bottom line is service could be better and it’s not good value for money. Firstly, service. When I arrived at the bar I was told bluntly by the waitress that my table wasn’t ready and I’d have to come back in 15-20 minutes, despite me having booked in advance! This is an absolute schoolboy error in dealing with customers and immediately got things off on the wrong foot. It was only when I looked at her quizzically and was about to head back out the door into the cold that she twigged and found another table. This is basic stuff and completely unforgivable when you’re charging high-end prices. This brings me on to the second point, which is price. The prices in this place are eye-watering and would be enough to make even the poshest Mayfair Sommelier blush. All in all we had 3 glasses of wine each and 3 small plates to share with some bread and it came to over £60 each! That’s utterly insane for the North East. Yes the quality was good, but it did not deliver good value for money. As for the positives, 22 Yards does have a nice atmosphere, generally lovely staff (apart from that initial - and hopefully anomalous - interaction) and a good quality product. It’s just much too expensive for what it is.

This restaurant is a little gem serving a limited, but wide ranging, menu which ought to satisfy everyone. The food is, without exception, interesting, innovative and very well cooked or, in the case of deserts, very well prepared and put together. The two dining rooms, while not glamorous, are cosy and comfortable. You don't come to this place to show off, rather you come here because the food is superb. Service is brilliant too. Very friendly and helpful staff and no rushing. 2 minutes from the Minster, 10 minutes from the station, and backing onto the city walls, this place is easy to find and very accessible. I really can't recommend No 8 Bistro highly enough

This place is incredible, we were so impressed and thoroughly enjoyed our food which was imaginative fresh and delicious. We had a mixed platter and we couldn’t believe how generous it would be and the quality was superb, just perfect.

This coffee shop is located in the centre of historic York. It was the first coffee shop we came across that was not too crowded on a very busy day before Christmas. We enjoyed two flat whites, which cost £6 and were good quality.

Stopped here for breakfast this morning and was pleasantly surprised. The service was very quick and efficient and the food was superb. Very reasonably priced. Asked for a large coffee and got a LARGE coffee, very unusual these days. Very impressed, will definitely return. Suggest you try it.

Overall a disappointing experience. I went with my family (partner and children) on an early Saturday evening at 6pm. The main issue was that we waited one hour between ordering and receiving food. We received 20% off as a result, and the waitress was polite and apologetic, but I would not go back and risk getting the same service. In their shoes I would have brought some free drinks and bread, but these weren't offered. The food itself was nice when it came. However, given the prices (getting towards £20 for each main), I would expect 50% bigger portions of most of the meals. Overall I got the impression of a chain that is squeezing out more profit, for example by not employing enough staff, and sadly would not go back.

Very dark environment, poor furnishings. The food is too expensive for the poor quality. The bathrooms are dirty. Not recommended

Had the christmas set menu. Food was great. Hope they have more than 1 server in the shop. There's only 1 server inside but about 5 groups in the shop.

A random amazing last minute find last night for my birthday. So originally we had another restaurant booked but they had a power cut just as we arrived. Had to find somewhere for 9 of us and as we walked towards town we stumbled upon this amazing gem. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating moving tables for us. They took our order quickly and the food, well it was soooooo tasty. I had the Chicken Iskender, huge portion, tender chicken with a very tasty sauce. Everyone thought the same with their choices. I didnt have a desert but others did and said the Baklava, Ice Cream, Brownie and Baileys Coffees were delicious. The waiter had a great sense of humour and was so friendly. Service on point. Will be back

2 Many Wines have closed their Heworth shop while still owing local suppliers hundreds of pounds and refusing to pay their debts. This is worth a lot to small businesses and we would have thought they would understand. Such a breach of trust by the owners. Avoid supplying this business as you will not get paid.
