Alice and I came here for a quick drink. Upon arrival, I helped myself to some loaded fries, which were simply gorgeous. Inside, the tipi was crowded, meaning there was little space to express myself on the dance floor. We did stay for a good half hour though, enjoying being able to tap our toes to some of some old-school Christmas classics, courtesy of the live band.

Arrived for staff Christmas Party at 6.30pm,found our group had been put in a small teepee to the side of the main marquee, which was far too small for our party,it was small dark and hardly any seating ,and the food was stone cold, decided to go and get a drink from the main marquee, and it took half an hour to be served, was told by a member of staff to avoid the portaloo toilets as they were filfy, and use the ones in the Principal Hotel, needles to say we left,

Visited July 23 and found an ideal spot in the sun as it was going down. Super relaxed atmosphere and great place to rest up & recharge after pounding the streets. Staff were great 👍 (shout out to Holly).

The place looks nice but to charge £8 for a cocktail that basically tastes of pure sugar and comes from a machine is not ok. To charge that they should be made fresh and with proper ingredients. Also mine was supposed to be frozen but wasn't at all. Huge queues for the bar at all times, nobody clearing glasses from tables, toilets are portaloos which are not maintained or cleaned. I think for the prices being charged at this place (over £6 a pint) it needs to be improved. It is a nice setting though which I guess is why people go!

This is an upmarket fancy restaurant that's so close to being excellent. It's still very good and worth visiting for the fish tacos alone. I've been twice and there been three things that have disappointed on both occasions preventing it from being excellent and up there with the very best . 1 the butter isn't served at a spreadable temperature. 2 the table has been wobbly. Both times the staff have fixed it when asked but it's annoying to ask as the tables are quite tight it's awkward. 3. They've got this stupid wicker table in the entrance with a flared base that sticks out more at the ground level that the top and I've nearly tripped over it both times. I would pay good money to put that ghastly thing on a bonfire. It's a very good restaurant that with a few tiny tweaks would feel more worth the price.

This restaurant is a little gem serving a limited, but wide ranging, menu which ought to satisfy everyone. The food is, without exception, interesting, innovative and very well cooked or, in the case of deserts, very well prepared and put together. The two dining rooms, while not glamorous, are cosy and comfortable. You don't come to this place to show off, rather you come here because the food is superb. Service is brilliant too. Very friendly and helpful staff and no rushing. 2 minutes from the Minster, 10 minutes from the station, and backing onto the city walls, this place is easy to find and very accessible. I really can't recommend No 8 Bistro highly enough

Don't be misled into thinking this is just a wine bar. Although their wine selection is impressive, they also provide superb food.
