The omens were not good: a Tuesday evening, bad weather and a 30 minute drive. But I should not have worried. Super food and excellent service. My Norfolk Black lamb was superb and then the chocolate marquise was exquisite. All washed down with eminently drinkable wines by the glass. And when we drove home it had stopped raining!

A very big “Thank you!” to Ahmet, Umet and all the staff at Aksular; who helped create a wonderful and memorable evening for my wife and our 44 guests. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Everyone enjoyed their food and had a wonderful evening. I am very grateful to Ahmet. He has a friendly, understanding nature and made organising the party simple and straightforward for me. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated and the menu is excellent value for money. The bread and salad starters are so very tasty. The Aksular Chef’s Special Platter to share was loved by all the carnivores and the vegetarians relished the Vegetarian Moussaka. I highly recommend the restaurant. Thanks again Team Aksular. 🏆🏆🏆

Room looks magnificent, bed comfortable. But there's no water in the bathroom, hot or cold, there's no answer on the telephone when you call to ask them to sort it out, and there's no response to email. So disappointed that I can hardly begin to put it into words. No idea where I can go for a shower before attending a funeral this afternoon.

Costa in a Tesco. Overpriced food. Not enough staff, so slow tedious service. Only one oven for toasties, making job slower.

Went for a Sunday roast with friends, one of them being a chef. The service was excellent and the food superb, my chef friend is very critical but he even commented on the quality of food and especially the roast potatoes. Watched Anthony Mouse afterwards, playing some great ska/reggae tunes. A fabulous Sunday, what a way to end the week.

We visited last night for the second time as we’d had such a lovely meal last December. We left quite disappointed this time. There are options labelled without G on the menu but I always check gluten free as I have coeliac disease. We were informed the chef had changed and given a very very small list of items off the menu that were gluten free - including fewer items than I had previously eaten at the restaurant. We were also handed the dessert menu and informed there were no options gluten free out of a page full of desserts - usually panacotta, icecream and even some cheesecakes are ok for gluten free. Sadly, we won’t be eating here again as the price point does not cater adequately for dietary requirements . Very disappointing and we left feeling that the chef is not suitably aware of gluten free. The Spanish tortilla could easily be gluten free - it was last time (or was it not?).
