Really rather disappointing, appears to be an artisan cafe but isnt, ordered a chicken bacon and cheddar wrap, What I got was a very sad looking bland cold chewy affair that looked like a 5 year old had made it. No garnish, no seasoning, just no hope especially considering the cost A wrap from a petrol station is honestly better. I will say the coffee was good though as was the chocolate slice.

Lovely little cafe, we were staying in bury st edmunds for the weekend and stumbled across this cafe for breakfast this morning. I had their pancakes with syrup and my husband had the full English. Took my boys today, just for a quick bite on our way to another appointment. Had heard really good things about this place and thought we'd try it out. Well ..... Wish we hadn't, service was lovely, atmosphere was quiet but when it comes to food, I was very disappointed. For the price we paid the portion sizes were measly, no garnish and no offer of sauces. My chicken and bacon sourdough toastie was very thin bread and hardly any filling, my son's BLT wrap was very small and bland in flavour. We would've said something at the time but we were running out of time to get to our next appointment, so couldn't.

As its a small cafe, indoors seating area would not be applicable for pushchair/ buggies/wheelchair so if the weather is good then there's option to sit outside. It does however holds a friendly yet chic vibe. Price is reasonable to a point, & the food was lovely with there's plenty to choose from Only let down I can comment on is the loud clashing of pottery & plates to be cleaned which made chit chats a little difficult

The restaurant we usually visit was closed so thought we would try this one and were not disappointed. We failed to see the menus clearly displayed on a wall but as soon as we chose a table a young man brought two menus to us. As requested, we ordered at the counter and our drinks were quickly brought to our table. We both chose baked potatoes, one with egg mayonnaise and the other with tuna mayo. These were provided with a small side salad in very reasonable time and both were excellent. The seating area inside appears quite limited but all the tables outside were occupied.

I love this little coffee shop. It has fabulous staff - Jamiezina being one of my favs … she is always there to cuddle Claude my frenchie and give him a home made woofy treat (which I then have to buy a bag of because they are so good). Excellent quality everything - from great cakes to lunches - all delivered with a smile. They also give me extra egg mayo in my sandwich because I am a greedy piggy wiggy and could eat just their egg mayo for breakfast. Deeelish! Ice cream 11 out of 10

I have dined in many places not only just in bury st edmunds but various locations in the uk! This place features in my top 5 worst places. Went in today with my 7 year old son to get milkshakes for our boys day out. And the women being served in front of us was given a great service by the waitress, polite, friendly, laughing and joking and then when my son and I approached to order… what a change. Same waitress but totally different vibe. Not even a hello, customer service was non existent, cold, borderline rude and when I ordered she told me to wait outside and she’ll bring them out. My son and I were kicked out onto the high street to wait for our order, and it wasn’t even like there was a que, nobody was behind us! I looked around and the clientele was… let’s just say a different ethnicity, people were elder and I haven’t felt so unwelcome in a place for a long time. I can’t say for certain this was the reason for our poor poor poor service and encounter but no other reasonable Reason is clear. And the milkshakes were awful? £6 not well spent!

Stopped here for a coffee and a cheese scone at lunchtime. The scone was dry as a bone and crumbling even though they had warmed it up a bit to try to disguise the fact it was stale. Could not taste any cheese in it so may as well been eating cardboard. The previous owners always had lovely scones and served them with some extra cheese and marmalade. I know things are more expensive now but charging over £3 for one tasteless scone and butter is way over the top. It got 2 stars because the coffee was good.

We discovered this place at the end of lockdown and we’ve visited every weekend since. Positive - the coffee! The beans are lovely. Negative - customer service. Getting ‘told!’ to wait outside in the rain and cold while they make your take out coffee is getting too much. It’s really put us off going back. My little boy has even stood shivering in the cold, while the shop front near the till had been empty - not as if they’re busy and need the extra space of people standing outside. There’s an equally good coffee shop with much better cake directly opposite and they are lovely and kind. This nonsense unfriendly policy is definitely driving us to go opposite!

I’ve been going to this cafe for years. It has always been my favourite spot in Bury. During my last visit, as I was drinking a cup of coffee, I found someone had spit a loogie into my coffee drink. I felt it in my mouth and spit it into my hand. I was so upset and grossed out I stood up and left right away. Later I wrote a respectful email to the cafe owners about what happened, but they never responded. It’s been over a month. I didn’t want to leave this bad review, but since they ignored what happened to me I felt I should warn others.

We stopped here for lunch the day of the Bury Christmas Market, so it was very busy. Although we managed to find a seat easily, the staff couldn't cope with the volume of customers. Queue to order food/ drinks was long, it wasn't clear what items were off the menu until the head of the queue and so, after checking back with rest of party, it was necessary to queue again. It took another 25 mins to be served simple snacks and hot drinks. Not an enjoyable visit.

Drinks arrived after a few minutes but didn’t clear the table of the previous occupants dirty crockery, just a couple of cups, said they were coming back with a tray. Half an hour later the food arrived, they were going to leave the crockery that still hadn’t been collected….I had to ask again for them to take it away. There were numerous other empty tables by this point, none of which were being cleared. To summarise, food was nice when it finally arrived, service and cleanliness poor.

we don't live in the area but came here last summer and sat outside, nice outdoor seating area and food was nicely presented and tasty, came back on a cold February day and sat inside . Not quite the same experience this time. staff were very pleasant and the toasted sandwiches took a while to come but as the place was busy we were happy to wait. the cafetiere of coffee was good and nice and hot but the actual container itself looked rather grubby and off putting. the toasted sandwiches arrived and although they tasted nice they weren't very well presented, literally placed on a plate with no presentation involved , mine was also burnt underneath and had obviously been turned over to hide the fact. would have been nice to have had a little bit of salad garnish or something. unfortunately the place looks like it could do with some tlc, very tatty paintwork and in my opinion the place looked quite grubby. the stairs down to the toilet were really dirty and the toilet seat was hanging off.

There really are a Lot of coffee shops in Bury St Edmund's, people must be addicted to the stuff to keep them all in business and I confess than when visiting my family there I have tried a few. This one tops my list. The position is excellent over looking the Angel Hill and they have an excellent range of coffee's, tea's and chocolates. An impressive range of sandwiches and cakes plus soft and alcoholic beverages, nice word that. My wife was very impressed with a shot of bailey's in her hot chocolate. Room looks magnificent, bed comfortable. But there's no water in the bathroom, hot or cold, there's no answer on the telephone when you call to ask them to sort it out, and there's no response to email. So disappointed that I can hardly begin to put it into words. No idea where I can go for a shower before attending a funeral this afternoon.

Was really looking forward to eating here, but sadly feel really let down, firstly no bottled water just filtered, started with free bread with pea hummus, just tasted of hummus to me. We ordered scallop for starter, only the one and cooked in shell so had to prise off shell to eat, great at £20 each, then mail, my wife chose the ham which was just sliced gristle and 1/4 of a pepper, I had tagine which had 4 pieces of meat and portion of rice which arrive from Lilliput! My wife’s food was so bad she could not cut into it and just left it, we shared what we could of the tagine and had to leave, we had had enough, due to the fact my wife had to rerun the food she could not eat, we only got charged 1/2 price, so after refusing the 12.5% service charge we only had to pay £95 for the privilege. Really think you can do better, happy to accept refund as to be honest I was expecting beadle to pop out!
