Nando's in St Edmundsbury

The first encounter with staff was very abrupt and rude. We did not see any sign saying Wait to be seated . And I felt he scolded us like a child

So this is based on 2 visits. On both visits the food came to the table cold very delayed and a bit dry. Ok the second occasion I actually requested a refund. The manager was understanding and gave a refund admitting due to the change in college workers there was a delay. I probably would hesitate a lot before going back.

Upstairs, the seating area is very nice and everytime I went there the service is very good and helping. The food is like in every Nandos which is pretty good so I rate this Nandos highly.

Menu and overall experience pretty much the same as very other Nandos. It is worth saying the churrasco burger was very, very tasty. Only complaint was the toilet could have been a bit cleaner.

On tasting them they seemed a bit bland, and had a lot less flavour than they should have had, about 10 minutes later all became clear as to why. It started with stomach pains, but then a few minutes later I was struggling to hold things in. I walked very carefully to the toilet, where I had a bit of an explosive experience, luckily it got everything out and my stomach and I was ok after that. Due to the lack of flavour and the experience I had after eating the Halloumi sticks, it seems to me that possibly they had been previously defrosted, and then put back in the freezer, maybe more than once? Also, when my chicken burger came, I could only manage half of it, not for the above reason, but because it was so dry, chewy and hard to get down. The ice-cream we had had some crispy crunchy bits in it which it shouldn’t have, being your standard ice-cream, so I’m going to say that it was possibly freezer burned? Altogether we spent over £90, which won’t be happening again at any Nando’s. This is about the 10th Nando’s I’ve been to around the country, and only on one visit in Cambridge, was the chicken succulent, tasty, and absolutely lovely. Generally then, from my experiences, Nando’s is a complete waste of money and I’d rather get a burger from anywhere else to be honest. Maybe I’ve just been the unluckiest person to ever eat at Nando’s?

OK £78 for four mains plus chicken roulette. In fairness, the chicken is decent. Chicken roulette was a laugh. Unfortunately the cleanliness is as you would expect for a kindergarten... dirty. Chicken and chips on the floor - trodden in no less, tables not wiped down, funny smell (a mix of perfume and burnt offerings?) Basically not a place for over 30s. Better of at KFC (which is hard for me to admit).

The BEST Nando's I have visited. The staff are amazing...very helpful and attentive. We had quite a wait but were kept updated regularly..we were given a complimentary starter and dessert...the atmosphere was so relaxed that we really weren't bothered by the wait. It really does make all the difference to be kept informed and to be served by such lovely staff...Thank you SO much xx

Food was good as usual. Disappointed to see the two cooks both with long painted gel nails not wearing gloves.

The food was lovely and the staff were very helpful,made sure we were ok at all times and enjoyed the music from Zimbabwe playing....I can definitely go back....

Had a short wait and staff were great at explaining the current situation, staff were accommodating at getting us seated as an awkward party of 5, food was great having a few new menu items, the Mac and cheese was amazing and hope it stays on the menu.

It was first and definitely not the last visit to Nando's with my family in Bury St Edmunds. The stuff was very friendly, taste of food was amazing. Feels like meet was marinade and cooked with love. All salads was made with care and sliced very accurate! All sauces recently refilled, bottles cleaned and wiped. Tables, seats was nice and clean. Toilets also looked well after, in good clean condition! Highly recommend!!! My own experience was excellent!! Will definitely back again

Recent visits have been hit or miss recently with having problems with our last 2 collection orders (first being cold as it was prepared/ ready 10 odd mins before our collection time and second, got home to find items missing) but I couldn’t fault our most recent collection. On arrival to a busy restaurant I was advised there was a delay on my order due to how busy they were where the lady was very apologetic, sat me aside to wait and provided me with a bottomless drink while I waited. To me this was service well above and beyond the expected and was greatly appreciate! The food was also great and well worth the visit.

Typical Nandos restaurant - you know what you are getting.. great for a quick relatively cheap meal

It’s a top notch experience if you want your food sitting on the pass for a decent amount of time when the restaurant isn’t busy! Good job I ordered “Hot” as it partially made up for the lukewarm food!

Had our first meal after arriving to the UK here. It was very good and familiar place. I recommend it for chicken lovers ;-)

I've been to six Nandos Restaurants in London and none of them were good. I then when to Nandos in Windsor and it was not good. I went to Nandos in Norwich and it was not good. I went to Nados in Birmingham and it was not good. I went to Nados in York and it was not good. I went to many Nandos restaurants and none of them were good. I lost all hope in Nandos. Finally, I came to your restaurant. I didn't want to but, I had no choice. However, your restaurant is not just good, it is the best. The chicken was juicy, the service was quick, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere was bloody awesome!!!

Who doesn’t love Nando’s I love ordering on the App but it takes away the interaction with staff

Unfortunately I had to update my original review as the Nando's I had this evening was not great. I ordered a whole chicken, large Peri peri salt chips and a side of halloumi. The portion sizes were fine for 2/3 people. The chicken was burnt and dry. But ultimately the thing that bugged me most is when you order Peri peri salt chips and all you get a tiny sprinkle on the top. Nando's used to evenly cover the chips with the salt but now it's like they're afraid to step too far away from the plain chips to prevent upsetting anyone. Suggestion Nando's, either change the name of the Peri peri chips to 'Plan-ish Chips' or start coating the so called Peri Peri Chips with the salt we all want.

Haven't been in a Nandos for a long time, went with the family for a quick lunch. Food was well prepared and tasted lovely. Service was ok and what I expected it to be in a fast food chicken restaurant, so all good.

My first every Nandos .... OMG what is all the fuss about ? Clapped out wooden chairs & a sticky table greeted us so not a good first impression and the food £12 for a small 1/4 chicken (& it was very small... if you go spend a little more and order the 1/2 chicken) some fries and a coleslaw. Plus of course extra for a drink. It was ok but just ok .... why do so many people fuss about Nandos I just don't see it .... I'm sorry 😞

Came here for a meal with my wife. I had expected it to be a bit like McDonalds - but far from it. As long as you like chicken - though there are some good vegetarian options - you will enjoy this place. Food came quickly - staff were friendly - and was well presented. It was good value - meal cost £30 including desserts. You can have as many refills of drink as you like. I would come here again!

We regularly visit this Nando’s as a family. The food is always good, the service is usually quick, and the atmosphere is what you would expect of a popular, reasonably priced place.

I've had better Nandos in the past, this restaurants food quality was not up to the same standard as others.

I want to say thank you so much to the staff at Nandos Bury St Edmunds! My daughter came in yesterday with her boyfriend for a meal. She says food and service were excellent but the main reason is to thank you for later in the afternoon when all the shops were shut and she was desperate for water as she is diabetic type one and was having a high. They helped her out. Thanks again to Manager and staff!

Went into Nando’s earlier this month and was left completely disappointed with the attitude of one of there staff members . I believe her name was ella , the way that she conducted her work was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. She was very rude as if she just didn’t care about her work or have any concern about upsetting her customers. She repeatedly swore and pulled faces when asking her opinion on what to order. it was almost an attitude of I don’t care and I don’t want to listen. I decided to write this review as I usually love going into Bury St Edmunds Nando’s as they are always so happy to help .

When I went here today, I ordered a salad and it looked like it had been stocked for quite a while as it was wrinkly and had black and yellow patches on it. I also ordered a meal for myself and my child both with lemon and herb and it came as spicy. My mum also ordered the chicken drumstick and thigh and got chicken breast instead. After making a complaint to the waitress, they offered to compensate by ordering a different meal but whatever i requested, i was told I had to pay for it and place a new order, despite having paid previously for the other order. In conclusion, the customer service was awful despite the misunderstanding and had to pay around £70 for 2 meals per person as i was refused to have a refund. I have been here before and never had to complain about anything, until today where I was refused to get what I actually paid for. I'm extremely frustrated and annoyed with this service today.

Had an awful experience today. We reached at around 7 55 pm. The female staff who first saw us [4 adults 2 kids] said she will have a look to find us a place. Soon after she left, a male staff approached us and immediately said you need to wait 20 mins. Dont know what happened there. Seems they were in closing down mood. Normally we have seen staff at Nandos to be pleasant and welcoming but this guy was rather rude in his tone. His attitude was as if he didn't want us to be there and asked if we could leave and come back. No please but just serious looks. There were 4 people behind us who seemed to get entry soon after. When we went back, the same guy told us that all main chicken items are over. No sorry nothing. We left dejected. Perfectly understand that you could be out of items but there's a pleasant way to say it.

Great food and lovely staff. Had a warm welcome upon entry and asked if we had any dietary requirements. Our drinks and food were both served very promptly and was delicious! Overall the atmosphere and cleanliness of the establishment was very good, and the team seemed very nice and friendly. Would definitely return again.

Staff were nice but the takeaway service was chaotic: took order wrong first, went back to correct when I noticed on the receipt, then when I collected the food an item was missing.

The staff was very polite, helpful, and friendly. The food came quickly and was very good. Good portion sizes for the price also. Recommend!

First time in this Nandos, was explained that we had a 10-15 minute wait for a table, which was ok for us to wait. Waited less then the time stated, which was good, the waitress took us to our table and explained either to order via the QR code or at the bar, then left us to enjoy our meal. Shame there isn't a better service for the waiting staff, as it would have been nice for the interaction, and definitely would have tipped them.

It took half an hour for a salad with somewhat wilted lettuce. It was edible but nothing to be excited about.

User friendly app, fast service, and delicious food! Would definitely come again soon.

Spur of the moment visit. Asked if they did takeaway, ordered chips & rice. When I got to the car opened the bag, was at least expecting a serviette & fork!? Rice consisted of what looked like a serving spoon was used, once!

Great service and delicious food

Came here last Friday evening for dinner. I had chicken with medium Peri-Ometer sauce with chips and mash. My grandad had chicken with the hot Peri-Ometer sauce with chips and peas. I highly recommend here to come. The sauce was hot but nice and had a good wave of flavour.

Very cold in the downstairs restaurant, we all kept our coats on! We received some of our order then had to ask three times for the remaining sides. Some food was cold on arrival.

We visit this nandos when visiting bury often. On this occasion our 6 & 9 year old decided to be awkward. The manager helped us out with this and made it as easy as possible for us. Turned what could have been a stressful time to a smooth order. Service was great and so was the food. Will be returning .

Foods always great, 1st time in a few years we visited Nando's. It's always busy, and the food is always great. The staff have always been polite, couldn't fault the service.

There's only one place to go for tasty chicken. Great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful. It can get very busy but food is always delivered in a timely manner. Can't complain.

Love Nandos, but quite often I find the food served is barely warm, it is never served hot. Food seems to sit on the hot pass for a while before it is served. Would be so much better if this issue could be addressed.

Prime dinner time. Nice and busy. I tried something new which was the pitta butterfly chicken with halloumi which was nice. Service to remove used plates could of been quicker but considering the amount of people in and where we were seated... its understandable

Had an early dinner with my husband and daughter, wait for a table was brief considering it was full of late lunchtime dinners. We were seated upstairs and had a view of the sun setting over the Arc shopping centre car park. Unfortunately the wooden shutter blind didn't quite filter out the sunlight from my eyes whilst we waited for our meals. Table was clean with no sticky residue on it, and chairs and floor was clear of any remnant of food. Wait for our meals was acceptable considering there were other tables also waiting and there was a big group (which had several tables pushed together) that was already eating. The area to pick up unlimited drinks and cutlery was clean. This was monitored by staff and wiped up any spillages left by customers. Bottles and spouts of Peri sauces were clean and absence of dried in spillage. Only negatives to report, ran out of sweetcorn side after usual lunch time dinners. Ordered a side of broccoli that was served very al dente despite being a limey green in colour. Also, order of a large side of fries that was to be shared between 2 meals. The large fries was served on the same plate as 1 of the meals.

Lovely friendly staff. Good seating mainly upstairs. Great food. Parking £1 in the evening. Great chicken shared meal. Fries, broccoli and rice delicious . I did ask for more fries as they were luke warm. They straight away hot another hot portion. Nice music at a good level and attractive decor.

Pretty standard Nandos, nothing particularly special

Staff are lovely and food is delicious. I went for lunch with a friend for a girls catch up. Wasn't too busy or loud so we were able to easily talk to each other without shouting. Service was quick. You can order via a qr code or at the till, so super flexible.

We went In there with my family for lunch we were in eight, all our food was wrong and the Children menu was spicy when I've ask to avoid to put spicy sauce because it was for a child, when we let her know that the order was completely wrong she was rude and arrogant pointing the finger on us that we make her confusion, she don't even apologise. Will be better put someone more educated and professional because public relations is not her best skill. We spoke with a blonde lady with short hair and glasses. I will never come back. Also no one explains us how is working the free refill there is no conunication. There are better place where to eat in bury.

Great place to get a high protein healthy lunch or dinner. Always delicious and always friendly staff. We went here many times during our three years in the UK and never had a bad experience.

Not very busy. We went in a 4pm. Usual fare and was attended to quickly. We enjoyed the meal and the service. Close to several main restaurant chains and a number of shops. Parking was quite close and free after 4pm.

Been to better nandos, chicken was very dry and over cooked. No check back was done once we received food, told a member of staff about how dry it all was didnt seem fussed, only offered a refund for the wings even tho we left over half of our mains. Few items missing from menu too.

Staff were pleasant. Food OK although the slaw was dry & tasteless. The staff uniforms could have done with a wash. Dirty aprons. No attention to detail. And the whole place looked like it could do with a good clean & a lick of paint. I certainly will not return. And we dined at 12:45 not long after opening. Come on Nandos you are a major chain. Bury St Edmunds deserve better. Pride in a restaurant comes from staff & management first. Sorry.

Love Nando's but even though it was a Friday night, boy was the service slow. And the food wasn't that hot. So had it been standing about waiting to be taken to us?

This branch is amazing. Me and my friend came in and both ordered pittas. Really fast service, delicious food and the manager Luciano was very accomodating. Friendly and warm!! Definately reccomend coming here for lunch or dinner any occasion!!

Ordered a takeaway it was cold , the chips look old like been cook over and over and the chicken burger wasn't great ethier. Would I eat there again No.

Service good but that's where it stops.....waiting for a table noticed the wooden discs to the left as your waiting, these are covered in dust and cobwebs which dident very appealing. Food came very quickly and was unbelievable dry and was over cooked which really surprised me......no a good experience at all.
