Nando's in Chelmsford

Absolutely amazing food. Been here twice this month. Good price and amazingly delicious food. So much opportunity to customise your food. There’s something for everyone. The staff are really nice and the food comes quite quickly. You also get the option to order from your phone or via a server. It is situated right in the town centre, perfect for visiting other places before or after. Would definitely do again.

Just wanted to share my positive experience at Nando’s tonight. Great service from the team, from a friendly welcome to helpful advice and prompt quality food. Whole family enjoyed the meal, many thanks.

Really quick no wait for food and was great quality perfect place for a chill time catching up with friends before going to the cinema

Fast service , all orders correct, seated quickly for a table of 8. Wide range on the menu with new things this time we visited. The desserts menu could be expanded

Louie our greeter and server was fantastic, we walked in at 9:45 he had smiles and was so sweet food was great manager was lovely I didn’t catch the girls name that was serving when I went to the till but she was so sweet and lovely

As expected, decent service and decent food. Went for the churrasco sauce but forgot I’d had it before and it’s not that enjoyable. The winter clementine spiced sauce was decent when it was around.

food lovely and didnt have to wait long for delivery which was brilliant and food wasnt cold result have had a delivery a couple of times

Food was lovely, staff were very good, helped us with a small technical glitch (that was neither ours or the waiters fault) that resulted in us getting the wrong food. A lady was extremely helpful in resolving the issue and was an absolute legend! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a snacc in Chelmsford.

Staff and food were brilliant, although we waited a while for a table we was serviced with a smile and felt comfortable with the covid regulations that was in place.

Staff don't know what there doing. Spend most of the time chatting and standing around. Completely ignored when having a meal here. Collection is only way of getting decent service then the food is still stone cold and missing items

Now table service. Order and pay in an app which was easy and ok. Table service was slow and bottomless drinks are difficult with inattentive staff. Food was good though and were not hurried out.

Ordered a collection for my sons Birthday but unfortunately when we arrived home we had missing items and it was cold. Customer service said we were missing items due to covid 19? !!

Only been using Nando’s a couple of years as I didn’t initially like the idea of queuing to place an order. But now that I know what they offer and how to order I like the food. And on this last occasion we tried the Chelmsford Nando’s one Saturday lunchtime and it was good with a friendly waitress.

Awful service, food cold, had to wait ages for food (we nearly missed our film) , do not waste ur money!

Great Tasting fast food and a good variety of food to suit different taste buds.. Flavoursome and seasoned well, especially the chicken.

I was diagnosed with coeliac disease a couple of years ago and always struggle finding places to eat out. Nando’s is my ‘go to’ place! The staff are so helpful, and the food is always perfect!

Visited Nando's for an evening meal as a colleague doesn't have them in Holland. Staff were very friendly, especially the young lady who took our order. The food came quickly and was good quality and pretty tasty. If you like chicken and the Nando's concept then this is a good place to eat.

Love Nando’s but they were let down by staff. One boy in particular actually said why are people even coming in can’t they just go home and eat followed by some choice words :-O one poor girl serving could have done with some help from the staff that were just chatting. Food was as tasty as ever but some smiles wouldn’t have gone a miss

The food here is always so tasty and fresh! The staff are polite and very welcoming. Seating and the atmosphere is excellent. The only reason I don’t give a full five stars is because the toilets (women’s) always seem messy and not stocked well (hand soap, tissues etc)However Nando’s is one of my favourite places to visit! You know what you get with Nando’s and the Chelmsford branch doesn’t disappoint.

After a shopping day you can’t go wrong with Nando’s Although a Saturday it wasn’t as busy Food was lovely as always , quick service and clean space Perfect for going with out with your teens and reasonably priced for the quality

I've never had a bad meal in Nando's & didn't here. Very good price for what you get, we had a sharer meal which was great for us. They were very quick getting the food out to us. Only things is naturally with Nando's it is just chicken & chips so if you don't like that then don't eat here.

My friend recently introduced me to nandos and I've since been about 4 times in the last month .

Very nice food. Staff are always friendly and polite. I love mango and lime flavour on my sweet potato burger. I just love Nandos

It is a really good family restaurant with good chicken based food with good sides to choose and good location. Maybe I would recommend to the restaurant manager to put down the music volume

Any Nando's I come to I always love it . Food is just say tasty and leaves you wanting more. Staff here were great with us and really friendly

We all know Nandos - what more is there to say? Eaten here a number of times and never had any problems at all. The service can be a little slow but that's rare - usually the food comes out rather quickly, even in peak times. Recommended.

Nandos is good for a quick meal. Service is minimal if any. It's self service with restaurant prices. A good fat food outlet but all the staff are young and don't really cater for anyone just do their job quickly. Maybe a smile wouldn't miss.

Visited on the Saturday before Xmas expecting it to be manic.

had a really nice time in Nandos as usual on a couple of visits over the three weeks we were in the UK, always a favorite with the kids this place and they never let us down! wish we had one of these in Tampa!...

I work in Chelmsford and unfortunately this place sucks me in time and again, the food is delicious and the service exactly what you’d expect from Nando’s! The only frustration about Chelmsford is the one way system for parking, but not Nando’s fault!

Nandos is a great restaurant for a good and affordable meal. Obviously a trendy place for the youngsters. I have visited a fair few nandos restaurants but this one was one of the best. Great staff and service was excellent. Will recommend.

We have been here a few times and the staff are just so helpful and cheerful . We had off the bone chicken one hot and one medium and as always it was delicious My wife left a christmas present there so we went back...

We took a bunch of clients from Italy to his place and they absolutely loved it . This chain delivers consistency whichever branch you go to .

Nando’s in Chelmsford is always clean and very welcoming.

Still sitting in while writing that review. Got cold tough food which is unacceptable, looks like they have changed staff as it’s not as good as before. I’m here regularly and never had here such a bad experience.... shame... will find different place to eat unless they will get better but don’t think will waste my money only to check how they are doing

We booked a table for a wedding rehearsal dinner for over 12 people. We thought we may had to wait a while for the food but after ordering it took less than 15 min to serve the food.

We visited Nando’s in Chelmsford on Saturday night. Although it took a bit of time for someone to see to us at the door and get us seated, we had a very enjoyable evening. The staff seemed friendly enough, the decor was very contemporary, it was one of the nicest interiors we have ever seen in a Nando’s. The only downside was that the cutlery didn’t appear to be very clean. Apart from this, we had a very lovely meal and will be returning.

I visited here with my friend and had decided on just having a couple of starters and sides between us. At the till we were greeted by a very friendly and chatty female server! She was super bubbly which is great, but she's definitely in the wrong job! She convinced me to buy 3 starters on the premise that it would be cheaper for me than having 2, even saying she would chose what seasoning to have on my chicken because I'd just love it, I felt pressured into buying this but as she said it would save me money I went with it. She went on to recommend a number of things and I spent way more than I had intended. While recommendations are great, I don't appreciate it being forced on me. But most of all, when I checked the menu after, she hadn't saved me money at all, I had in fact been conned out of more money - daylight robbery some may say, I didn't even like the seasoning she had forced upon me, and furthermore I wasted so much food as I simply didn't want or need it. For this reason and poor experience I wouldn't be inclined to come back. I appreciate customer service when you're helping a customer out, but she simply conned me out of more money making me believe I was better off, which ended up being money I may as well have thrown in the bin as I was far too full to eat it all! Will go to other Nando's next time so I can have what I want and nothing more.

If you go on a shopping spree to Chelmsford & after doing so fancy going to a nice restaurant then why not go to Nando's. The staff there are very friendly, the restaurant itself is well laid out, they have a good menu which caters for all tastes. They also can provide a takeaway service if that is wanted & all their food can be purchased for a very reasonable price.

Met my wife after work for some dinner in this restaurant. Found the server very friendly and chatty & the food as always was delicious. It's been too long since we last went & we'll be back soon.

visiting Chelmsford as we were going to the friendsfest so we went shopping first, feeling hungry so stopped for lunch had plain chicken in pitta bread very nice

I visit Nando's almost once or twice in a month. The staff are young,friendly, courteous, polite. I had visited the restaurant on 2nd August and the lovely staff proactively offered us free desserts because of a long wait for our food as it was around lunch time and they were extremely busy that day.Really touched by their sweet gesture. The chicken wraps are a must try. Their humous and bread is a hit with the kids! Love the location, the restaurant and I always keep coming back with friends or family.

We booked a table for 9 of us to catch up with family whilst visiting the Uk. We have been here before but hadn't booked a table and the queues were huge so we went elsewhere. It was still very busy but the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were seated upstairs as downstairs was full. We opted for the chicken platter for four, another for two and some children's meals. The platter to share for four people is very good value, with four large sides. My children love visiting Nando's when we are in the Uk, not just for the chicken but for the frozen yoghurt.

My wife and stepson had a meal here and it was so busy I did feel sorry for the staff they were run off their feet! But when we did get a seat and to be fair didn't have to wait long for our food ,found the ice machine out of order which is not really except able on a hot summer day! As for the food we all had butterfly chicken and very nice it was too, although the size of the chicken was very small compared to other times I have eaten at other Nando's before.

Nando's is Nando's you know what to expect and that's what I love. I got my usual and was not disappointed. The only bug a boo was the ice machine downstairs wasn't working and we had to walk upstairs. But it burnt some extra calories so I ain't mad

In the area for work so decided I need a Nando. Whole chicken chips and drink. Boom! It was unbelievable huge chicken nice a moist and plenty of chips. Drown the chips in Nando's sauce wow. Service was excellent.

Love that place as a chicken eater I'm visiting very often. You can't really get table service like everywhere but that's what makes this place special, for me always good!! And of course will be returning.

The hummus starter here is my absolute favourite starter! The spicy drizzle is amazing and I wish I could buy it for use at home, as it just compliments the hummus perfectly! However, the meal went downhill from here. I thought I would try something different and have the chicken wrap but this was horrible. I ordered halloumi cheese on the side (I quite clearly stated I wanted it on the side) however it came in the wrap, which made that taste awful too. My side of mash came frozen still - I raised this issue with the waiter who quickly took this away and advised he would get me a new one immediately, and the rice was clumped together and tasteless. I waited at least 15 minutes and had finished what I had managed to pick out of the meal, when I had to grab the waiter and ask where my mash was. She then ran to the kitchen and brought out a new one but by this time it was just too late. The staff were unapologetic and handled the whole situation very poorly. So disappointing! I will stick to dining at the Braintree branch.

Just love coming here with my family, we all have different tastes but there is something to suit everyone.... also vegetarian options too.The hummus starter with peri peri drizzle sauce is amazing, and comes with pitta bread to dip in,and is a big portion for one person, so you could share this between two.Being a vegetarian I can recommend the portobello mushroom and hallommi cheese wrap or pitta for a mains is delicious,as is the spicy rice side and creamy mash side too.Staff are very friendly and atmosphere is great.Can't wait to go back again soon

Chicken is always top notch quality. I alwaysgo for the less spicy and the chips are heaven. If you've room for a dessert the cheesecake is one of the best I've ever had.

Been to this nandos loads and it sure does come out on top of all the others around Essex. Brilliant staff food always quick and presented well. Always satisfied and always have a good evening here.

The food here is good, it's Nando's so you know what you are getting and it's really tasty.It's a big place, so very busy and bustling. There was a little wait on arrival but they tried really hard to find space, which they did and very quick.Nice good tasty food and reasonable in price.Can't go too wrong really.

Always good, never had a bad meal there. Took a mate for the first time, who is now there once week lol Sometimes the wait can be a bit long, but I suppose it has to be excepted as a great advert for success

Ordered a takeaway via Nando's website. After completing the order we were given a time for collection of 7:15 ( half an hour from ordering) arrived at restaurant at approximately 7:20 and was informed that our order would be a few minutes. Order finally arrived at the counter 20 minutes later. ( restaurant was not busy at all may I add.) When arrived home and started to dish the food out. We noticed that there was only 1 portion of fries. Should have been 2. Fries were soggy. Given that the website stated that you wait a few minutes for fresh hot chips well they wasn't. Garlic bread was very hard . Butterfly chicken breasts was also dry . On a positive note the Chicken in a bun was very nice. The rest of the order was very disappointing and cold. Don't think I will be ordering a takeaway away again very soon.

By all means it's just your average Nando's, nothing bad but nothing that stands out either.Staff are friendly and food was good, but the wait times were quite long and the portions weren't that great for the price.Not bad, but nothing to write home about.

Everything was average..i have nothing bad to say , but wouldn't be my first recommendation. decent portions, with lots of flavor and spice.

the staff were good but the cost is way expensive compared to other places, the chicken burger I had was tasty but the roll was hard ( think its supposed to be) and just to small for the money paid, we were all hungry again a couple of hours later . way overpriced

Massive nando's fan and today's visit didn't disappoint... Friendly staff, quick service. Minor issue with a hair in our sweet potato mash but was dealt with really well and the staff couldn't apologise enough. A fresh dish was brought out quickly.

I had Nando's here the other month, it was really busy but they still managed to bring us the food quickly and efficiently. The thighs are fantastic! I usually have medium but everyone's spice palate is different. Really enjoyed coming here, will definitely come again.

I came here with my son and grand daughter as they love itYou find a table then go up and order your food I prefer table service but it's my treat It can become all of a sudden so busy and a bit caotic We got there about 11 45 and be time it was 12 it was full Anyway I got my son to go up to order It's quite a long wait but for what it is the chicken is really good with veg and a corn on the cob plus garlic bread My grand daughter had chicken breast with BBQ sauce and sweet potato and garlic bread She's not quite two yet but she loves it and finished all the chicken ofHonestly if I was on my own I wouldn't come here because of what it is but young people absolutely love it and I have never seen it quiet yetYou can't fault the food I am just older and prefer being served It's obviously a hit with young people There is a children's menu Plenty of high chairs and the staff are friendly Well done to them

I would like to start by firstly praising the young lady who was trying her best to solve our problems. She was a young blonde lady working Sunday 2nd October, waiting on the upstairs tables at approx. 1pm. This review is no reflection on her at all, as she did all she could to rectify a problem which was not caused by herself.We phoned up to book a table before leaving home, to which we was advised we were not allowed to book in advance so would have to turn up and queue, which we did.When we were seated after around 10 minutes, we went straight to order as we always usually have the same meal and wanted to get ordered as early as possible. We ordered our food - a relatively basic order. The only specific request was there must be no chilli jam in the Chicken Wrap as I am allergic to it. After around 10-15 minutes, a plate of food was presented to me - however there must have been some confusion as it had Macho Peas rather than Creamy Mash. I advised the waitress there and then that it was incorrect, to which she returned to the kitchen to switch the dishes. She returned with my plate of food which was now correct.After 10 minutes, food still hadn't arrived for the girl who I was eating with. By this point, my food had gone cold so I began eating. It is only then I discovered there was Chilli Jam in the wrap - which I am allergic to! More care should have been taken to check this!A further 10 minutes went by and still no food. We was speaking about this, when the girls on another table asked if we had only received half our food. Between us, we worked it out that the food I had originally been given was in fact the food of the girl at this table, who had also been left without any. Though this was a mistake that could easily have been rectified, it was the handling of the situation which then made the situation worse. The girl at the other table was brought out a new dish, which arrived cold. The girl who I was with was brought out her food too. The mash was sent back as it tasted strongly of dish soap, to which the waitress agreed. There was no knives left in the cutlery pots, so we asked a waitress. We did not receive a knife for a further 5-10 minutes, at which point I had now had my meal for half an hour and my sisters was starting to go cold.We raised our concerns with Sam, who we believe to be the manager, who advised that we would not be able to have any money reduced despite the horrendous service. He advised he would come back towards the end of the meal to check up on us - this did not happen.I am unimpressed that I had to spent an hour and £30 in a restaurant on a sub-standard meal with such poor service. For this reason, I would recommend avoiding this branch of Nandos Chelmsford.

A good place to eat at lunchtime when out shopping - good value for money and food is good. Not a place I would choose for an evening

Went for a spot of lunch with my husband and mother in-law. My meal and husbands was fine but actually got the wrong spice on mother in laws so had to wait for hers to be re-cooked. Food service was fast, not a problem. The problem was with the toilets in an absolute state! Dont go to the loo before your meal as it will put you off your food. Maybe it was just busy but someone should have kept an eye on the toilets.

It was busy, but not that busy. And they only really do chicken. So after waiting 45 mins for a half chicken, I was told it would take another 15 mins because I'd ordered a complicated "on the bone" meal.Not really impressed at all.I never did get the half chicken either.

First time we visited the Chelmsford branch. I had the chicken salad, husband had the steak burger and the kids has chicken burgers. It was good food and service. The frozen yoghurts were lovely. We came here for a cheap quick meal it wasn't that.

The first time we visited Brentwood branch couple years ago. But when we discovered Nando's in Chelmsford it become our favourite place. We're coming quite often, recently started to order take away. Always good food, nice service. People are always smiling. We were there many times and we will be still coming back. It's kind of our ritual for few years.

Good food always and service. Shame that a young employee was humiliated in front of customers on my last visit. We visit often and this young man always polite and helpful if he needed some guidance please not in front of customers. He was clearly upset and embarrassed. We go to Nandos often. Always a good experience. Food is excellent. The service is really good. The staff are always attentive and very helpful. Even when it is busy you do not wait too long for service or for your food which is always just right. I'm already looking forward to our next visit.

Went here many years ago for dinner and wasn't impressed. But it was a colleague's leaving do so thought I'd give it a go and glad I did! Very prompt service, easy to order and great tasting food. Bargain too.

If you love chicken this is the place. If you've never been before, you don't get served at your table, you have to go up to the counter to order. Food comes up pretty quick. The chips are amazing. So is the cheesecake! Medium budget. Would recommend.

I've visited this nandos before and not had any issues. However when I went on a sunny Sunday afternoon it was struggling to cope. We got a table outside in the sun and were told about and the wait on food which is fine, but only when we went up to order were we told there was no salad left. Why weren't we told this when we were seated?! Also hakf way through our meal we saw salads being served??! Very strange. Either they are on the menu for the evening or off. I won't be back in a hurry. Better nandos elsewhere.

The food here is amazing and the best. It's not too expensive and is great place to be. The staff are nice and welcoming. I go here about once and month and i have never had a bad meal. There's food for everyone on the menu and never had a problem and they was say If there is going to be wait so you know. The max time I have ever waited is about 40 minutes but they told me it was going to be an hour wait. I would highly recommend eating here. I have been with my friends, family, boyfriend and with children it's a great place.

The place is very clean and all new inside. The wait was quick and service was polite. All orders were correct and yummy. Definitely a recommended branch

What a terrible visit to your Nandos restaurant, I don't even know where to begin.I went out for dinner with 3 friends and the first person that greeted us was rude!! When asking how long the wait would be she replied ' I don't know I am not the host'. We had to sit outside on a broken table because there wasn't any other seats. It was so messy! Tables with old food on with food and napkins all other the floor, the litter had even made its way out onto the street!We then had to queue for 20 minutes for our order to be taken!! There was no glasses left so we had to wait for them so we could have our drinks. There was a trainee on the till so that made the whole process even slower.When i went to get our cutlery, none of it was clean so I had to clean it myself!!When we finally received our food (at different times) the halloumi cheese was cold and rubbery and the mash potatoes was crispy from where it had been sitting on the hot rack for so long.They was extremely understaffed which amazed me as they had a table of 14 walk in after we ordered our food, how could they not have prepared for this??!!I am appalled by the whole experience and I won't be returning in a long while!

Good options on the kids' menu. Reasonably priced. Food tasty and service was good. Kids were given colouring to do which is always a nice touch to keep them occupied. Downside was having to go up 2 flights to the loos, especially as we've recently potty trained our youngest!

when here with my family for a meal and i have to say the food was nice but what it is for the price its nothing special. the only really negative thing worth saying is how crap the staff are, we were seated on a table only big enough for 4 but we was part of 5 and looking around the restaurant the waiting staff were seating groups of only two at a 5 or more table. This to me makes no sense and clearly the staff earthier dont give a crap or have such a low IQ they cant figure seating there guest appropriately. this was also disheartening got my wife who uses a wheel chair as she were we was seated she was in the way and spent most of the night on edge and unable to relax. As a heads up We use my NHS discount and this is only good for orders under £20, after £20 they only knock off £4, anything under £20 they offer 20% discount. I dont think i would my self come here again as i think i can make this simple food at home for half the price.

I had a disappointing Nandos elsewhere a couple of weeks ago, so wasn't in a rush to return. My son convinced me. Not been to the chelmsford one much but liked it. Half chicken with extras. Nice tender, Moist succulent. Everything the other one wasn't. My son had the chicken wrap. He enjoyed.

Really good at accommodating large groups. The food is always fast and good with a large availability of sauces. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

The outside area was just perfect for a lovely lunch in the sun! I came here with friends on a beautiful day and the outside area, although small, was a lovely option to enjoy the sunshine, a few drinks and the delicious food. Food was delightful as always - cooked to perfection and not a single thing wrong! Great atmosphere too in the outside area, everyone was enjoying the beautiful day and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Would highly recommend.

I visited for a quick lunch while shopping and was very impressed with the food. The chicken was really well cooked nice and moist not dry like chicken usually is at nandos. The food was fresh, hot and very tasty. One of the best nandos I've had. The staff were also very nice and the restaurant was nice, clean and tidy.I will definitely be returning and would recommend this restaurant to others. A great place for a quick meal whilst shopping.
