I wouldn’t have bothered leaving a review except that I got sick and am still occasionally vomiting for two days now and feel very nauseous. I ordered chicken skewers and two sides. The food arrived and Both the chips and chicken were definitely on the cooler side. I cut into the chicken, ate some and then noticed it was pink (which I am aware can be OK if at the correct temperature) and not remotely hot! I did mention this to the waiter and he said that this did happen sometimes with the skewers and he would have it cooked more. Ten minutes later, the same plate is returned, all food in the exact same place and stone cold. I informed the waiter and was told they had only heated up one of the skewers as I had cut into the first one! So they left the other undercooked chicken on my plate. Not only that, having worked in a restaurant, I am almost certain they took the plate away and did nothing as even the skewer they apparently cooked more was cold! I sent the food back and asked for a refund. The manager came over, no apology just gave us a refund in cash. I would never go back there, worst service I’ve had in a long time and a few hours after being there I was bloody throwing up, coincidence, I don’t think so, and I only took two bites of the chicken, heaven knows what I would have been like if I’d eaten more 😖

Fatima is brilliant so welcoming and i just love the women. GIVE FATIMA A PAY RISE! Had a lovely experience and would go back all because of her.

Great food, as always. The clientel not always the best, though. Very good service - especially from Fatima, who went abive and beyond to make us and our two children feel welcomed, and helped the little ones to get settled and entertained.

Only use them for takeaways. 9 times out of 10 are great but the last experience wasn't the best. Had to return a chicken breast meal and the remake was just as bad. Dry and tasteless. Got a refund but had to push for it 😭

Terrible service and no attention to customers needs

My partner and I came to visit, we sat outside and had a delicious meal that as always came quickly. We brought our dog along and our lovely waitress Fatima was so kind and went found a container to give her some water and food. She was so attentive and friendly with such an infectious smile. The staff are always so lovely here every time I visit. Many thanks :)

Been to this specific branch a few times now with the mrs and our 2 kids. It never dissappoints and just like John Wayne's pistol, it always bangs.

We ordered chicken from the branch, but there was no chicken. We couldn't find chicken at the chicken shop. There were 7 of us, but we didn't like this Nando's. I think other Nando's branches are better.ı used yo eat full plater

Ordered a Mediterranean Salad with a chicken breast for delivery. On the images the salad looks big and vibrant and for nearly £15 for a salad with a small chicken breast youd expect that but no i got this monstrosity instead. Called Deliveroo for a refund, they advised call the store, i called the store no answer for 10 minutes so i have no choice but to leave this review so people dont get scammed like i did for trying to be healthier.

We had another delicious meal at Nandos, this time in Southend with our granddaughter. We were well looked after, the food was, as always, delicious, and our granddaughter loved her meal with the tasty ice cream afterwards. Thank you.

I was a bit upset that there was no chicken, especially in a store that only sells chicken. We were upset that the chicken we wanted wasn't available, and we had to settle for another type of chicken. We always used to get the full platter. It's so ridiculous. I wish I had eaten at home. I had to get a menu out of necessity, and it was terrible too.

Great Visit to Nandos Southend, food was cooked fast The tables weren't sticky, the Vegetarian options were good too. It often gets busy here so arrive early to ensure you get a table.

Yesterday we went to Nando’s it was the best thing ever the waitress recommended us this Sauce it was the Saka Sauce it was so good so that’s 5 star from my the atmosphere was amazing the music in the back was really vibey and what is there not to like the waitress who showed us the saka sauce was Fattima I’m pretty sure but it was amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our party of 5 (Including a young one) Went to Southend Nandos on a Friday night. Firstly, we were welcomed in by a kind host and taken to our table. We ordered on the app and our food arrived promptly and all the modifications were perfect. What we really commend was the amazing service given to us by one of the waiting staff, Fatima. She was attentive (Especially with our toddler), friendly and helpful. She checked on us multiple times to make sure that everything was alright and didn't rush us at all. We have visited this restaurant multiple times and our food and service has always been impeccable.

Worst Nando’s service ever Ordered a vegan wrap and was served chicken in it.

Food was good, would like to give higher score to service as all the staff interacted with were great, but when you expect people to do the work for them while just taking the money, I cant score higher. If expected to do employees jobs, should be entitled to staff discounts as we are obviously employees

Part of the order was forgotten so reminder of order sat on counter getting cold. After chasing up the order it eventually arrived, however, chips were hot and chicken was cold! Manager offered to remake the food but half of the table had already finished their meal. Problem solving ability was very poor.

My daughter and her boyfriend treated me and my mum to a belated Mother's Day meal and it was our first time here (daughter and her boyfriend had been before) Fatima was our server and couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble for her. She went above and beyond making sure me and my mum had a positive experience and helped us with the variety of sauces. She really is an asset to the company and I hope she gets the praise and recognition she absolutely deserves. Thank you Fatima, keep being you

Too loud - could hardly talk across the table. Food was good but halloumi was missing from the mushroom and halloumi dish. Service was civil but not at all warm. I asked the waiter to change a dirty knife and he didn’t come back! Food is expensive here for what you get. Chicken is dry and small. No avocado anymore for some reason which further alienates me. No nutrition information for chicken with seasoning or for bottles of sauce. Would call this a mediocre experience.

Really great ambience. Food is great as expected at any Nandos. Staff is really helpful and polite and accomodative. May be because it is popular, it can get extremely busy. So time visits accordingly. Went at night a couplemof times - crowd is much lesser and everything seems better. Parking can be a bit of a challenge because university square parking closes at 9 of late.

A cheeky Nando's is a staple for a quick bite to eat, be it expensive chicken, but it's tasty. Well not this time. Chicken was over cooked and tough, fries were cold and my garlic bread was burnt (so much so that it lost the garlic!). The drinks from the self serve were also very flat and when I mentioned it the staff didn't seem to care at all. Such a shame as this is now my closest Nando's.

Food was good. Staff were lovely. But what a shambles our visit was. When the 5 of us all adults arrived we told them we also have a baby with us too and need to have the pram near us as the baby will sit in the pram while we eat. 20 minute wait and then we were seated. While we were waiting for our food the manager came over and said the pram needs to be moved as it’s in the way and she pushed it behind the seats so not visible. Our food arrived so we asked for a baby seat as couldn’t have the pram there even though asked before seating. The manager came back over and said we cannot have a high chair. We explained we informed your staff on arrival that we have a baby and asked to be seated appropriately. The manager said I’m sorry it’s the staffs fault. We told her we will not be holding a 7 month old baby while eating. Manager said it’s not my fault I didn’t design this restaurant. We said you seem to be blaming everyone apart from yourself. You are the manager and this falls on you. She said I will re-seat you but we have no seats. We stated our food is on the table and is getting cold. Manager then said I will get a high chair but we will not be responsible for the child sitting here. If the baby gets knocked while we are serving food it’s down to you. We explained that it is her responsibility as a manager to make sure we are seated in a family friendly zone as this is a family restaurant. After the conversation going back and fourth she said she will stop people walking past that part with hot food. This did not happen staff and diners were walking past with hot food and drinks. We ended up taking the baby out of the seat while finishing our meal. Very poor management. She needs some training. Also all the staff need to be made aware what parts are safe for young children to sit. We will not visit this Nando’s again.

Having not eaten at nandos for years, recent changes such as app ordering make it an even better experience.

One of the best places to eat out in Southend. My go to place for lunch if I am out in Southend. Nice healthy food not too expensive with a new range of Natural Drinks as well. Service could do with being more polite or aware of customers.

Really bad service from the minute we walked in as a family of 3 it was not a welcoming atmosphere. Ordered through the app and no one brought a glass for the drinks we had to chase it up. When food arrived they didn’t even give us a plate and had to chase that up as well. The young girl behind the counter needs to learn how to do customer service her attitude was disgusting, before this I was. A regular customer but now FORGET IT!!!!

Went to Nando’s and had the best dinner for my son’s 14th birthday. Food was quick, hot and lovely. We ordered a breast of chicken for my son my accident and it was immediately changed for the burger he wanted no questions asked. Fatima was our waitress and she made our night with her friendly happy service. She couldn’t do enough for us and when she found out it was my son’s birthday even came out with a cake and candles singing happy birthday. Food was great but Fatima’s service was better very happy and wouldn’t even take a tip from us.

Visited Nando's on Sunday, received lovely service from a pleasant young man. He kindly seated us and properly introduced himself, making sure we had everything we needed. Food was lovely as always, and we really enjoyed the experience. because of this, we think Jimmy deserves praise!

Came in for a family dinner on GCSE results night. It was understandably busy, but we didn’t have to wait too long. We ordered via the app and the food came in about 15-20 minutes. Everything was lovely, and we decided on dessert. I went up to the counter and tried to order something, and the crew member called Queen was standing there but just chatting to her colleague. I figured she’d wrap up her chat and serve me, but I was there for a good 3-4 minutes before she decided she was going to help me. When she did her attitude wasn’t great, and she kept cutting me off to speak to her colleague again, which I found very rude. When the desserts came, one was significantly smaller than the rest, so the manager changed this for us without further issue. Overall a good meal, a poor experience with staff, but we would return.

Think the last time I came here (to Southend Nando's) was about 10 years ago? Anyways, visited yesterday with my mum, younger sister and a few friends (group of 6), and ordered a Family Platter to share (2 whole chickens and 5 large sides). Whilst I'm not usually a big fan of peri-peri food, regardless the food (especially the chicken) was nicely cooked and very tasty. Dessert (Gooey Caramel Cheesecake) was great too. Also tried out the limited edition BBQ Garlic peri-peri sauce, which both me and my sister loved! Shame it may not stick around forever though. Overall I highly recommend, especially for their Family Platter.

Not been in a Nando’s for 18 months since they stole a full up rewards card from me, so fancied a trip into dodgy Southend, great service, good food £45 for 3 persons not cheap for fast food but acceptable, it does what it’s supposed to do.

Food is good ,the ice tea it's terrible, we chose lemon and peach ice tea , and didn't tasted like ice tea. Nandos should be thinking about changing supplier... The service is great, all the staff is very friendly and has a good environment.

Well Nandos’s is always Nandos,We always get what Nando”s promised before and now on..With the signature Peri peri taste and the fabulous sauces it’s always great. It was a night meal for me and wife we enjoyed the food and atmosphere and the Nandocas were very kind to us..

Excellent visit today the staff were amazing, couldn’t be more helpful, my granddaughter has several allergies and the the staff were excellent at accommodating her needs (we was a big group table of 11) and nothing was to much trouble. First time visiting this place. The food was good and filling. Chicken wings, peri fries, coleslaw, half a chicken, and bottomless drinks. Very busy on Friday. Would recommend.

Absolutely wonderful atmosphere on stepping into the space, welcoming staff as well as politeness. Possibly the best Nando’s i’ve been to so far. A special appreciation to the member, Fathima as well. I recommend the extra spice on any food by the way, the flavour is worth it.
