A very big “Thank you!” to Ahmet, Umet and all the staff at Aksular; who helped create a wonderful and memorable evening for my wife and our 44 guests. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Everyone enjoyed their food and had a wonderful evening. I am very grateful to Ahmet. He has a friendly, understanding nature and made organising the party simple and straightforward for me. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated and the menu is excellent value for money. The bread and salad starters are so very tasty. The Aksular Chef’s Special Platter to share was loved by all the carnivores and the vegetarians relished the Vegetarian Moussaka. I highly recommend the restaurant. Thanks again Team Aksular. 🏆🏆🏆

So I order a large doner for £25 pounds and this portion was delivered the smallest portion I have ever seen. Called them and they told me that is the large portion. This is ridiculous portion for £25 pounds.

Had a few takeaways which have been nice but went in yesterday for the first time and food was almost unedible. Meat full of gristle, rice had hard grains in it and not fresh and the grilled halloumi which was £7.50 for 4 slices was barely even grilled and watery.

Red chicken when served nobody asked was we happy or okay with the food when going to pay? It was an argument to complain about one serving very poor and bad attitude.

Good food but I never come here because of the awful service , always takes 45 minutes to catch a servers eye and when you ask for the check and takeaway they ignore you and bring you tea instead

We hired the restaurant for my mums 90th birthday, the whole experience was outstanding. The food was superb and couldn’t be faulted, the staff were friendly, attentive and polite. Thank you so much to everyone at Aksular you really made my mums birthday a memorable day, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food. Had a takeaway with different kebabs and they were all delicious and big portions. So much cheaper if you collect directly from them. Staff were lovely and the inside of the restaurant looked great - although I didn't eat in there so can't comment on the atmosphere.

We didn't have a booking - there was 6 of us (3 adults, 3 kids) and the staff kindly accommodated us. They were so friendly, especially to the kids and the food was sensational! We will definitely be back! 😍

Food always food but so very expensive. Prices go up every few months. Chicken wings with rice and couscous £19.95. I would say just expensive Turkish restaurant. Even stopped the complimentary little Turkish delights at the end. Surely why do that to save what 20p!!. Mixed hot starters £17 or so. Two little bits of sausage. Wood Oven better. Arch in Borehamwood far far better. Likya better. I used to go weekly to Aksular but smaller portions, prices up.

Lovely waiter who works really hard on his own. Not enough staff at all in this restaurant to offer the service required. There was about 5 prawns in the king prawn main course which is £18!

A discreet Turkish restaurant with modern decor. Plenty of choice. Staff are friendly, and the service is quick. Food is freshly cooked and has plenty of flavour. Parking is on the street only, which is free after 6.30pm Monday to Saturday.

Great food and excellent service. When my family and I arrived, there was only one other table but the place started slowly filling up. There was only one waitress but she provided excellent service. We ordered the Aksular Special, a family platter feeding 3-4 people. Before our food came we got a basket of bread, a very nice salad, hummus and another minty yogurt dip (I believe everyone gets it before their food arrives). Overall, the food was excellent and I would definitely like to go again.

They're too slow on service and don't know how to deal with a large number of people that come to their restaurant I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone because of their poor service. Nearly two hours to serve our food this is the worst restaurant that I have been to with bad service and no customer service skills.

A bit overpriced for what they serve. The chicken shish was okay but nothing special. The texture of the chicken is very weird which I think is due to overbrining.

I had a delightful dining experience at Aksular Potter Bar Restaurant today. The interior was exceptionally clean, and the decor was stunning. The friendly staff added to the charm. The food was exceptional , I strongly recommend it to everyone

Second time that we had a terrible experience.. hence leaving a review as its not right.. the last time I thought.. sometimes things happen.. mistakes happen (burnt food) this time it was just not okay... Bread came it was stale and hard... politely asked for it to be replaced.. man started shouting in Turkish.. which he didn't realise I understand.. 'tell them if they don't want to eat it.. we don't have any bread. Tell them to go away'.. i said nothing...then our food came.. my lamb.. the smell of off meat followed. I tasted it.. one bite i literally spate it out... I asked the lady the meat is off... smell it.. she said its lamb that's what it smells like.. I was like.. I know what meat smells like this is off.. taste it pls...this time she didn't argue and smiled (first smile of the experience).. I feel like she knew it was bad from her reaction of simply taking it away with a smile.. the chef also didn't have much to say which surprised me and made sense coz they couldn't say much.. it was cleary off.. by this point I just wanted to leave but with small kids, felt impossible as they still had there starters. I didn't eat.. just waited for them to finish.. no sorry no let me replace it.. nothing.. I asked for the bill.. for our drinks and starters.. then left to have to go the the drive through so the kids could eat.. the whole experience was just cringe worthy.. I'm not one to complain but it was impossible to get past.. Will not be returning.. when it first opened it was so nice.. now £25 for off meat and pure rudness..

Awesome value, excellent food and friendly staff. Love this place... Been coming here since it opened and they never disappoint ! Been to two other Turkish restaurants in the last fortnight and had pretty much the same thing with same number of people. Here it's the best food and £10 per head cheaper. I have decided not to bother trying other places, this is the best... Why bother with the cost and disappointment... Am in Turkey writing this update. Had meals out and still rate Aksular on taste, quality and price. Just been back with 2 more friends and all agreed it's the best.!!!

Very disappointed in our takeaway today. We’ve been visiting and ordering from Aksular for a long time but today the food was not good. The portions were tiny and clearly no care was taken in the prep and packaging. I paid £60 for 2 doner kebabs and a mixed mezze, very disappointed considering how much I paid. ***editing this review after speaking with the manager who was extremely rude and dismissive. I complained about the portion size and he says he can’t be expected to give much food if I order through Deliveroo as their charges are high. He didn’t care that I was trying to give feedback as a previously loyal customer but instead told me it’s not his problem and I should complain to Deliveroo. I will never order or eat in from here again, terrible attitude and service!!****

Food served were very authentic and nicely spiced. Taste was good, particularly loved the lamb doner with rice to go with it.

This Restaurant should be avoided at all cost ,food is of poor quality service is mediocre. Had starters had not finished the starters when the main course arrived told waitress was ignored left main course on table for the 4 of us and walked away. Don’t bother with this Restaurant. The best part of this place is when walking out .

Classy Turkish restaurant with super hospitality. Great food, welcoming, comfortable & sensibly priced. We ordered the lamb shish which was the best cut and was deliciously seasoned. This is a great place for any occasion. You get so much food, you’ll be asking for doggie bags. We saw so many repeat loyal customers which is a clear demonstration that they care about food quality and value their customers. Excellent value. A lovely dining experience. We will definitely be back!

I’m really disappointed with our order. We’ve ordered from here today due to 2 of us leaving work today, so it was a big order from our office. I won’t be ordering from here again due to the tiny amount of food we got. For me, I received my shish, which was a little tray of rice and 5 cubes of chicken for £9.50. We ordered the hot mix starter for £17.95 and all that was in the tray was no more than 8 small pieces, not even enough to go around the office! Also my co-workers aren’t happy either and I would no recommend the rubbery prawns. Also one of our co-workers didn’t get there dish at all. My coworker is on the phone to them now and she now has to go and collect it. What an absolute waste of money

Me and my boyfriend have a date night at Aksular on a regular basis. The food is excellent and the staff are kind and always welcoming. The food is always amazing and you will never be disappointed. We've been coming here for many years & the food & service has always been lovely . We did notice though that portion sizes have got smaller, especially the salad. When we ask for some more salad we were told it would be £5! Bit disappointed to be honest service was a bit slow even though they weren't very busy Felt a bit rushed at the end as if they couldn't wait to clear the table .

Hugely disappointed with the quality of the food that was ordered. Four separate dishes and all was underwhelming, with much having to be thrown away. It was a take away and the food was only luke warm when received. I won’t be returning.

Three School friends and myself..all four in their 'young' 70's..well we think we are, still schoolkids at heart in this current crazy post Covid world, met up for a chat, with the wives' and daughters in another restaurant..catching up as we were! Never been to this place, but very pleasantly surprised. Don't know much about Turkish food, but boy what a spread. As I don't usually eat lunchtime..an old habit from working days, I told the other three, I'd 'pick' and so we decided upon the Aksular Special Kebab, for 3 - 4 people. They always serve a great salad first, I'm told by my pal who had been once here and todays's choice was his..came with Turkish bread and a couple of small dips, which I'm told are freebies, so no starters. Lovely salad and filling so the right choice. Main course as above, on a bed of rice and very nicely presented..absolutely brilliant, fresh and lots of it, Lamb & Chicken Doner, Adana Kebab, Lamb and Chicken Shish, Chicken Beyti, Lamb ribs & chops and a good portion of Chicken Wings..Phew! And I was only dipping in. We also had a choice of three wines for the House wine, with our super waiter, so polite and helpful, who gave us a taster of each bottle at the house wine price..never had that before! The Bill. how they did it I'll never know, but I'll be back again..super service and food...with a tip £80.00 for four! No not related or paid for this review..just try it! Kitchen is open at the back of the restaurant..clean and tidy, with the toilets the same..a good guide to a restaurant,,strange perhaps, but always a good pointer to the type of managerial regard for clients..never fails to indicate accurately..try it..approaching my 270 from memory 'Trip' reviews..always an accurate indicator that! We even had a takeaway box for the remains of our feast, for one of our group, who's Chinese wife loves Turkish..so he even got off of the washing up at home for a few days....no doubt, knowing him!

Not been here for ages.... No longer do the lunch menu... But... Still excellent value for money Fresh, plentiful food, delivered by friendly, smiling waitress. Had the combination kebab to share,... Lamb chops, chicken wings, cubed lamb, cubed chicken, rice, couscous.... Plus complimentary starter of... Salad, pitta bread and two dips, also chilli sauce and yogurt sauce We needed a box to take home what we couldn't eat... (evening snack 😁)

Potters Bar is certainly no culinary haven, which means that there aren't a helluva lot of choices to take guests out for dinner. The Portuguese restaurant up the road is overpriced (you might as well travel into London) and the service is haughty. But North London is good for Turkish restaurants. At least that's what you'd think. We normally go into Finchley for Turkish food but as we were pushed for time we had no choice but the go local. We've ordered take aways from Aksular before and they were good - even better than average - so we were excited about a sit down meal here. But oh how disappointed we were. The starters - mixed mezze platter, tarama etc - were the most tasteless I've ever had in a Turkish restaurant. As for the mains, the chicken wings were passable but not as plump as we've had elsewhere and the Adana lacked taste. The doner - the portion was ever so stingy. I won't be going here again.

Tasty, friendly, inexpensive. Been visiting these restaurants since original in palmers green 20 odd years ago. I think this is their smallest restaurant to date, so feels more family run etc.

After visiting it last two times I decided I am not gonna go again. Portions got smaller, food wasn't very tasty, even I orderes my favourite after (pudding), and realised they cut all ingredients in it so couldn't finish even a half. Sorry Aksular but until you come back to normal quality its NO NO from me.

On spec with no notice and we were accommodated no problem on a Saturday night in a very busy restaurant. Service was great Food was great Price was great What was not great is that I live 150 miles away and will never go back. So what is there mot to like? Absolutely lovely homemade donner meat (both lamb and chicken) and all of the accompanying sides such as the bread and sauces were delicious, service was fantastic, will definitely be back again!

In general it is nice food and good service. Can be a little hit and miss from time to time but in general nice food. We tend to find if you try non grill food, then it isn't as nice. Stick to grilled meats and you won't go wrong.

Askular really need to improve their customer service as it was not impressive. On arrival we had to identify ourselves due to the staff stood chatting. Detail to attention was of no interest to them and accommodating dietary requirements was not a priority. Whilst we were there another customer was complaining too. Shame as the ambience was nice and food was good.

Normally we love Aksular- food is fine fresh, amazing , reasonably priced and tasty Visited on 12/7/22- it was our anniversary, but unfortunately we spent the afternoon at a funeral.. So thought we’d pop in here for a meal and a couple of drinks.. Unbelievably , we arrived as 2 female staff were fighting , one actually told the other to F.. Off .. in the restaurant! Service was very slow , had to ask for the bill 3 times, couldn’t wait to leave .. Certainly not the experience we expected 😔 We always try to give positive reviews of local businesses, but this visit was really disappointing

No Gin! Dined there this week (4 ladies) & we all wanted a G & T. They could only offer us some pink gin (which tasted horrible) and it was served with a little bit of tonic in each of the 4 glasses and no ice. I would have thought that they could have nipped along to Sainsburys to buy some gun. On ordering dessert, there was only one portion of the dessert chosen! Very odd. Food quite good otherwise but wouldn’t go back in a hurry.
