Really disappointed today. I came to this place around 2 weeks ago by myself and I really loved it, the food was amazing the staff were really nice and friendly and I really wanted to come back but this time with my family. I came back and it was a fully different experience, the drinks came so late and I ordered the same cocktail from last time and it was a whole different taste, it was horrible I did not like it at all. The staff were slow and not friendly, they were rude and disrespectful.

I ordered food for delivery and received old, smelly lahmacun and rest of the other food wasn’t tasty. If you don’t have fresh food, don’t sell it ! I ordered it for my kids, and I’m sure you wouldn’t feed your own children this kind of food. I will never order from this restaurant again. Be honest and respectful to your customers. Business isn't just about making money. If you continue with this mentality, you will lose in the long run..!

Never been here before. First the prices on their website are not the same as the ones we saw on their restaurant menu. They claim this to be a takeaway menu on their website, checked on Just eat different prices there too. You will never know what you will get charged for in this place. We asked for the outside area which was more like a run-down shed with fake flowers and a very weird atmosphere at that point why even have an outside area. The food was bland and quite expensive for what you get. My ribeye steak although it was cooked perfectly and the size was good it had no seasoning whatsoever which made it taste boring. The peppercorn sauce was more like a peppery gravy with a weird consistency and taste. My husband had the sautéed prawns which were overcooked, the side of rice and salad are very small for that dish. What I found really odd was that half of the ingredients were not even mentioned on the menu. My steak came with fries instead of chips (the menu mentions chips) and a weird combination of sautéed red pepper, green pepper, onion, and mushroom which wasn’t complimenting the dish and one touched. My concern is that if someone has an intolerance or allergy in any of these they should know that the dish comes with them before ordering. Same issue with my husband’s prawns it came with things that were nowhere to be seen on that menu including mushrooms, chunks of inions and peppers. We left disappointed and there’s nothing worse than spending money in bad food in my opinion.

I never usually have a starter before my main meal. Only when it's a lunch deal. I wish I had because I felt the portions were a little small and I still could of managed to eat more. Bread was given previous to our meal but we could of eaten more. So we finished off with an ice cream dessert. These were quite small. I also felt a few dishes are expensive for the amount we got on our plates. Overall it was lovely, friendly quick service and very clean. I would eat there again. And there's parking around the back, free after 6.30pm

On our journey back from Essex we stop at the restaurant to have lunch. The food is always fantastic and can never fault it and normally very reasonably priced. We stopped there on our way back to Bedford today and still had a nice meal but seemed very expensive and seemed to have been charged £5 each for 3 bottles of fantastic orange that seems a bit steep. The most awful part of our time in there was the staff having a disagreement and shouting very loud for the most of the time we was in there, so now we are thinking of not returning, but feel sad because we love the food there.

Ordered a large white wine but given a single, when I queiered with the waiter he didn’t check, said the glass was overlarge so I was mistaken. He was very offhand. Not my first rodeo with a large wine glass so I know I was right . My husband agreed. My vegetable kebab was greasy and my husband kebab OK. Won’t be going back.

Ordered a take away lamb shish wrap yesterday & this morning I woke up vomiting it all put. Looking back I don't think the lamb was cooked well enough. Will not be returning here after this awful experience on my birthday.

As a loyal customer, the sudden £18 charge for the once-complimentary Turkish tea caught us off guard when we received the bill. There were no notices or indications on the menu about this shift, making the lack of communication frustrating. Additionally, the absence of complimentary baklava, which we looked forward to, added to our disappointment, especially as we came to celebrate my mum's birthday today. Less than a month ago, we enjoyed our tea without charges, only to learn they started implementing this two months ago. This lack of clarity diminishes the trust we've built as long-time customers. Clear communication about policy changes is essential, and it's disheartening to see this overlooked. Unfortunately, due to these recent experiences, we won't be returning. We hope the management considers transparent communication to maintain trust with loyal customers like us.

Our meals were very nice on time and hot I ordered during lock down before and was very poor. But would definitely order again now.

Went last night for dinner with a couple of friends and had a really good evening. Service was great and the food as always was very good. Really great Felafels and houmous. Had the Imam Byaldi, an aubergine dish which is delicious and 'melt in your' mouth. Will be returning again soon!

Was at Oliver Mathews and noticed this restaurant few doors down. So glad we popped in. The food is excellent. I loved the falafel and chichen sheesh is delicious and juicy. Great service too.

Ordered over the phone, extremely rude. The second time ordering and both times were the same. Do NOT eat here if you are gluten free. They do not care and have no interest in trying to help you with what you can order. Meal came with couscous after stating gluten free. No people skills. Terrible let down as the food is nice. If only they could employ staff with better people skills.

Ordered the swordfish that was Supposedly meant to Come with salad and rice , ended up getting fish and chips instead with the tiniest salad honestly you guys are so stingy on salad , bread was not fresh and rock hard. Won’t be ordering again.

Are you in Potters Bar? Well then do yourself a favour, get over to Wood Oven BBQ. An amazing turkish restaurant with a touch of class. The service levels here are wonderful. The small details and the mannerisms of the staff. You are made to feel special. The food is just another level, the mixed grill is superb. I would say the best I have ever had. Every item is cooked and flavoured to perfection. I just love this place. Salim Patel

Visited this beautiful restaurant last week with friends for lunch the food and service was amazing, will definitely be returning.

My first time in a Turkish restaurant and not the last for sure ! Food is absolutely delicious, especially grilled meats. Staff is kind and professionnal. Quick service also. All that for a very democratic price !

Discoverd this lovely local restaurant and am very impressed with with high standards of food and service. Prices are very reasonable and portions very filling. Debbie is charming and tries her best to look after her customers.

Service on Uber eats was very good. The menu is not clear that the dish comes with rice so ordered extra which was wasted. Medium portion is 5 small pieces of chicken, more meat on a small chicken breast. Maybe ideal portion for child Very disappointed

Went today, was looking forward to a nice meal for my partners birthday . My partner asked for chips instead of salad and abruptly told no you have to order them as a side. Service was shocking, we asked for bill and when the waiter bought bill we were asked to pay cash. Used to love this place food is great but the waiter needs to work on his customer service . Needless we will not go back.

It was fine. The portions were very big but not tasty. The meat was a bit dry. It was quite expensive for what we got.

Fantastic Turkish restaurant. The food was exquisite, plentiful portions of tasty succulent food from the large variety on the menu, all served from pleasant friendly staff. I'm definitely coming here again, one of the best Turkish restaurants I've visited, and I've been to many in the area.

Ordered a delivery 24 hours in advance paid cash was not initially offered a receipt, had to ask for it. Delivery booked for Sunday evening, did not arrive I called was told it was on the way. Eventually food arrived one hour after I originally booked. My suspicion is they forgot the order and this is not the first time this has happened.

Ordered a large platter for 4-5 people for 90 pounds to share. The smallest platter came...if we would have ordered 5 adult plates at 18 pounds (total of £90) we would have had twice more food. Wasn't happy .

We ordered a platter for 5 people, it was really tasty, however the portion size was more like for 3 people including starters. We left hungry. The costumer service was also not very friendly, our waitress said very rudely that my child can order chicken nuggets when i asked for chicken skewer not to be too spicy. And when my husband asked if the platter was for 5 people, she rudely answered “you can order more”. This is not very nice for hospitality/ costumer service to speak to their costumer in such a direct and rude way. The manager offered 10% discount but did not accept our feedback. Again not a very good costumer service move. Conclusion: we are leaving this feedback and very unlikely ever coming back nor keen to recommend this place to others.

We love the Wood Oven. Staff are really friendly, food is excellent and there is always an appetiser brought to the table free-of-charge. Not that that is the reason we visit, but it's a really nice gesture. Chefs deserve an extra mention as we've never had a bad meal here.

I’m glad we never read the reviews before trying this restaurant on a cold, wet Tuesday night as we would have missed out on a fantastic meal. My hubby had the lamb which he said was excellent and I had a delicious veggie moussaka washed down with a glass of house red which was of the highest quality. The price of the mains include freshly baked flatbread with a selection of mouth watering dips. Friendly and efficient service, highly recommended.

We have visited the Wood Oven several so decided to go there for Mothers Day. We ordered 4 kebabs and a burger. The service was slow which is understandable on Mothers Day but the overall experience was abysmal and ruined my Mothers Day. 4 of us ordered starters, 3 came out and the last one came out after we had finished and they had cleared the table, we had to chase up the last order! One of my children ordered a kid's kebab and chips and another a burger and chips. After several tables who arrived after us got served we chased up our food. We were clearly forgotten! Then our food was brought out without chips. They said they had run out even though other diners who ordered after us received chips. The photo shows how the burger was served to us. The kids kebab came with rice but we had ordered chips as my son doesn't eat rice. I told them we had ordered chips and they said no we didn't. We are disappointed with the way we have been treated and also because we have recommended this restaurant to friends and family. At 8pm I had to try and arrange food for a family of 5!

Visited here as we were passing through the area and fancied a lahmacun (Turkish Pizza). These guys served and amazing lahmacun with some really nice mercimek (lentil) soup too. Olives were also provided complimentary. Would recommend!

Absolutely delicious BBQ platter for 2-3 people. The staff are always friendly and very polite. The seating is well spaced so it feels open and airy. The portions are generous and in line with local restaurant prices.

I booked well in advance for a birthday party for 36 people. There was no additional staff for this surge of people means that 3 waiters serving the whole restaurant including this large group. So the service was poor. The platter at £90 was of poor quality; full of chicken wings and lamb chops mostly bones, No Kofta in it, 2 chicken pieces and 2 lamb cubes. Small bowel of salads came after the main dish. As for the food quality, I would say good rather than excellent. Not good value for money. Definitely not for a large group; may be good for a couple or 4 people at a time.

What a wonderful evening. Easily catered for my party of 16 for a leaving meal. Service was wonderful and attentive, food was served in time and correct. The menu is extensive with plenty of choice and the food is really nice. Thank you for a wonderful evening

The Wood Oven has had a refurb since we were last there, it looks really lovely, both inside & out! Service was very good & the food was fresh & delicious. Looking forward to the next visit already. 😀
