Very well presented food, tasty to boot, and generous sized portions. Situated in nice small upmarket shopping village. Never disappointed with food here.

Not what it was - prices are crazy . Very nice cheese sandwich a handful of crisps & a pot of tea £17.50 !!! Service & food ok but it really is overpriced and not worth it . Shame as I used to love it here

The service was very slow. Food was nice, and it's a nice looking place that is well-kept.

One of the best breakfasts I have tasted in a long while. Worth every penny. The bacon was perfectly cooked for my taste, full of flavour, thick cut and a rind just crispy enough to notice. The sausage was full of subtle flavours, thick and juicy. The mushrooms were plentiful and, flavoursome and well cooked. I had fried eggs which had an excellent taste, were runny enough for dipping toast, yet firm enough to ve able to be cut with a knife & fork. The beans were good, as was the toast, and I was able to swap out my grilled tomato for extra bacon. I had black coffee, which suited my taste for being strong, sweet and just the right temperature. Great apple juice and tap water also served (all of which eased the memories of the previous nights party) If I could add anything to the menu it would hash browns or potato rostis. In their absence we opted for a serving of chips shared between 4 of us, and yet there were still too many chips to eat because we were all felt well and truly stuffed. Well done all.

I've been here a few times for breakfast or brunch and have always had a great meal. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the menu options are good. It can get a little noisy as folks use it to meet up and catch up so there'll frequently be plenty of young children but look, who wants to eat in a library?!

Great place for a light bite, good coffee and a catch up with friends. Or a sit down after browsing the fabulous stores on site.

Whilst the food here is decent and good for brunch, the atmosphere is a bit stiff and the staff can be quite rude. I literally walked in and walked out just now because of a rude Italian/spanish waitress… so I guess I won’t be making the journey over here again anytime soon.

Situated in Battlers Farm with plenty of parking on site. Great menu for breakfast & brunch. Well presented delicious food served very quickly by friendly staff. Would definitely revisit. Very good value Cannesdid .... surfingsyd

Always friendly service. Happy to accommodate slight menu variations and good ambience. A good place for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Can get busy so may be worth booking. Nice inside and outside (covered, to provide a bit of shade) seating area. Worth a visit if you are nearby. Have been a customer for several years now.

What happened? years ago this used to be a great place to meet with friends, not any more! Sat at table waiting for someone to come over (no one did) went up to see where to order to be told someone will be over. Eventually placed our order for coffee and cake, awful coffee and dreadful cake, won’t be returning

I visited today for afternoon tea at 3.30. The food is great and we enjoyed scones, welsh rarebit and cake. However, there were a couple of things I found really annoying - hence why I'm writing this review (which I rarely do). 1. When I visited the ladies, there was no toilet paper in either cubicle. The toilets hadn't been "inspected" since 8.20am. When I asked a member of staff for paper, I was given a handful of the blue paper used for cleaning. When we left at 4.30, there was still no paper in the ladies toilets! 2. From about 4pm, our experience was serenaded with the rather loud sound of a vacuum cleaner! Cleaning of the kitchen was going on in earnest. Since the restaurant doesn't close until 5pm, I found this rather disconcerting. While I appreciate staff might want to finish up and get home, management please find away to conduct such activities outside of business hours! A wonderful location, good food spoiled by this lack of care.

Great service,atmosphere and the actual building itself(converted beamed animal shed) was beautiful. Cakes and scones superb. Full english breakfast had delicous bacon but the mean tiny overly herbed sausage Needs to be Bigger cafe people. £15breccy has to be reflected in portion sizes. Would most definitely recommend and will be going again

yesterday I took my daughter & grandson to The Bull Pen for lunch. 2 smoked salmon & cream cheese bagels, 1 slice of buck rarebit, 1 portion of fries. Pot of tea & 2 soft drinks cost me £56.42!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous, will be very long time before I go back there. Didn't want to buy a share in the place,just a quick lunchtime snack

Hmm... the food was alright. The menu layout is confusing. The atmosphere was weird. We felt as though we didn't fit in. I think it is way too expensive for what it is. We won't be going back

The food here is seriously overpriced. Had a slice of cake and a bottle of Coke Zero - it was more expensive than some cafes in Central London. The person who served me was also very rude - I asked what was in one of the cakes and he was very abrupt and standoffish. There was a young waitress who was much more pleasant, but the service was generally poor. Save your money and don't bother.

The food is lovely and so are the staff. I had the Bull Pen tea which was good. Can be noisy during the lunch rush.

Great venue, but staff were not particularly attentive and my English breakfast was mediocre. I will go back, but today I was disappointed.

The food served was dull and tasteless I ate this appalling toasted cheese and ham panini predominantly because I was hungry. I complained to the manager who told me that as I had eaten three quarters of my food there was nothing he could do. I wish they had a measure for tasty delicious food instead of how much uneaten food is left on the plate. I am a local and have vowed never to eat there again. Also my unappetising sandwich and a tea cost more than £15.00. All I can say is lesson learned.

We ordered our fresh mint teas, one with lemon in it and 2 breakfasts - one of them vegetarian. Food was good but no one checked back on us. Our plates were cleared but no question as to whether we wanted anything else or not. And to top it off, we were given the bill even though we never asked for it! My partner and i felt absolutely disrespected and so unwelcome it was unbelievable. Considering that we spent £40 of our hard earned money for just two mint teas and 2 breakfast im cant believe that we were treated like this. It felt like they thought we were going to run away. We did want to speak to the manager about this but she was having her lunch so we didnt want to disturb, hopefully she gets to read this. Its a shame. We live in the village and this is how our community treats us.

Lovely location nice spot for lunch would 100% recommend. Plus there are a few other shop there well worth a visit.

Ordered a granola and honey bowl asked for some blueberries and they replied they had no fruit at all (side note: they are next door to a greengrocer!), suggesting I go over to a fridge where I could buy a banana which they would cut up for me. I thought it very odd for a popular breakfast restaurant at 10am on a Saturday to have no fruit.

A great meeting & socialising place, the restaurant is a good size with lots of space, the food is served speedily without compromising quality. Well run place with friendly staff ready to help. Definitely worth visiting.

Really great spot for brunch or lunch. Good parking out the front, a few little local retail shops to peruse in the Battlers Green Farm area. Quite a big cafe, with a huge choice of food. Great coffee, great service and nice and warm. They dont allow dogs inside but do have an outside area (with heaters) if you want to take your pooch.

Very cold day, so a welcome lunch. Paninis & baigels delicious. A portion of chips a must!

The flat whites were bitter because the coffee was scalded by the boiling milk. The delicious Victoria Sponge was served on a side plate with a fork but no serviette. When we paid at the end, the fact we weren't asked about our experience just confirmed that customer satisfaction has no importance at this Tearooms.

Excellent food and service. Sitting outside under the heated umbrellas we enjoyed a peaceful and delicious, traditional English countryside brunch. Not cheap. Very noisy inside (jam packed with happy, chatty customers). But otherwise, highly recommended.

It's just another great place to go and have afternoon tea at, but they do not accept bookings for tables there and this also applies to that place even though they can get totally packed out at the weekend, yet more people want to go there at the weekends as well.

so we re visited the bull pen 4 of us had v nice lunch BUT watch out,unless your read the bottom of the menu you will get charged service charge on top of your bill ...which in ones opinion should be discretionary,you should not pay it if the service is bad and if so see mngr and refuse the payment,in fact by removing the automatic service charge the customers tip could be worth more....think bout it.

Served a BLT where the the toast was burned to an obviously carcinogenic degree. One side of the bread was more burned than the other and the cook had placed that on the inside of the sandwich hoping I wouldn't notice. I understand that standards across the board have dropped in the last few years but I paid £10.50 for that sandwich so I was expecting better.

This place is so popular, mainly because it's a reliable staple in the community. The decor is homely and wholesome, and the food is basic but delicious. Prices are quite high, but you can sit and chat without being harassed to move on.

Really lovely tea room for luncheons, tea and cakes. Located in well set out selection of stores in a farm court. (Nothing icky to step in!) With good parking. Lovely service, good small meals selection - panini, sandwiches, baked potatoes etc. And cakes to bin the diet for! Well worth a visit. Lunch 2 people incl 1 glass wine and service £38.

Fantastic breakfast but had to keep moving chair forward so people cld pass maybe rearrange the seating. Otherwise I wld definitely recommend the place

The best thing to have here is their cakes. They have a fruit meringue which looks like an Eton mess. Best I have ever had...

This place has a lovely feel. I met some friends for lunch and had the soup and sandwich. Helpful staff, but a little busy. Plenty of parking. Clean toilets.

Bull Pen Tearoom is independent and family owned place at Battlers Green Farm, Common Lane, Radlett, WD7 8PH The place is definitely a hidden treasure Average spend per person £18 I was there with family friends for a brunch .. there is good parking space at the location.. We received a warm welcome by friendly staff . From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a cozy haven of rustic charm. The ambiance, complete with wooden beams and a tranquil farm view, sets the perfect stage for a relaxing tea time. The menu offers a delightful array of tea, breakfast, lunch menu for every age ... They have a special kids menu .. and selection of freshly baked cakes We ordered jacket potatoes.. I ordered chicken jacket potatoes and rest ordered tuna jacket potatoes.. cam with side of salad and yumm it tasted delicious We did not had space of cakes so ... Here's to many more years of delightful meals and warm welcomes

well a matter of principal.we know the food is good bit pricey but good.but how well can you trust the prices on their menu on the net.we just wanted 2 americano coffee with hot milk internet menu £3 55 on site charged £3 75 yes i know its only 25p more BUT i wonder how accurate their full menu is on internet prices compared to their menu they have on site for the waitress said thats the price we charge on menu.makes you think........if they changed prices then keep the menu right on the net so it reads the same on site,

Good food, fairly good service. Nice ambience

We were visiting friends and needed some lunch before heading home. We parked up just after 12 on a Wednesday. There was a queue out of the door, but we were seated quickly on a table for 2 inside. While quieing I noticed that they had chicken schnitzel chips and salad as a special. When the waitress came to take our orders, we did indeed order the schnitzel, but just with salad for me. It was a nice portion, hot and tasty. Hubby ordered a chocolate cake with ice cream. It was a huge portion. He asked if he could take the rest home, which indeed he did. Not the cheapest lunch, but very good atmosphere, nice, friendly waitresses, great parking and some lovely shops to wander about in before or after you eat.

Lovely food and location. The service was quick and friendly. There wasn't really an atmosphere... More wasp batting than anything as we were seated outside in the covered area with our doggy. The menu choices are good and everything is locally sourced. The traybakes are to die for and the bull pen tea is my fave with a gorgeous cafetiere of coffee. My daughter had the kids afternoon tea which was perfect for her and at £11.50 really good value.

Group afternoon tea for nearly 40 people which was very efficiently dealt with by helpful friendly staff.

Food is average and well overpriced! The service is awful! Lots of miserable staff who don‘t provide any service and have zero customer service skills. 12.5 % service charge automatically added to the bill, what a joke and not only that there is no service as mentioned, it’s awful! We won’t be returning!

Great choice, friendly staff, comfortably tables. When busy there can be lengthy wait for a table but this wait is always worth it.

The food and atmosphere is good. However there is not enough staff to enable the management to open 50% of the restaurant. Very petty about changing items on the menu.

Service is a bit slow so much staff but I wouldn't say they are attentive. All day breakfast is served We swapped 2 eggs with sausage but only hot 1 sausage which I thought was a bit cheeky other than that lovely restaurant and great food.

Been a few years but after visit last week, Vegan options disappeared. Vegan sausages no more. Disappointing. Food quality is poor and options about as boring as it can get. Staff are superb.

Lovely Sunday lunch with our children, great menu something for everyone great portions and lively friendly staff, 4 had buckreib with extras, grand daughter had breakfast bap and I had an amazing ham salad 🥗

We went with our daughter her partner our son and one of our granddaughters for Sunday lunch. Got there at 12, no queue, we were given a table that held 6 of us. Quite a large menu, everything from breakfasts, sandwiches right through tp salads and cakes. 4 ordered buckriebit with extra sausages or bacon, our grand daughter had a breakfast bap, I had a huge ham salad with a side of avocado 🥑. Various drinks and hubby, son, and grand daughter had cakes which again were huge, we had to ask for doggy bags as they could not finish them. Lovely friendly waitress. By the time we left about 1.30 long queue waiting to be seated, plenty of parking, this was our 1st visit we will definitely be back soon

Disappointing. A tea room that should be a restaurant with one bottled beer on the menu and a VERY unimaginative menu. I want to yawn at this point! Don’t get me wrong, the food was “nice” - but that was it. It was super noisy and I was defo not wearing enough carats to feel comfy here. What a missed opportunity given the space and location!

Ordered two lattes, asked for a menu to look at and when the waiter brought us our drinks he took the menus and threw them in the bin? Went to pay and noticed there was an additional 91p service charge for walking 30 foot with our drinks, obviously I asked for that to be removed. Can’t smoke outside either. Off the beaten track so you have to make the effort to go here so maybe I should have charged them for the petrol I used to go there. Won’t be going back.

I visited the Bull Pen tea rooms for lunch today and had a very unpleasant experience. Staff were rude and unprofessional felt like they avoided eye contact to provide service, there was at one point 4 to 5 staff arguing amongst themselves who would take orders. Staff appeared unfriendly no pleasantries. Had to keep leaving my table to ask for service. There was one polite young blonde haired guy who was helpful I complained to him, what is wrong with staff attitude. The 2 stars are for the lovely food however at nearly £50 for x 2 lunches very poor service couldn’t wait to leave and won’t return. Feel so sad by the whole experience.

I used to live by this place and have known it for years. Its always been a destination but had thought (many years ago) it was overrated. No longer!! This place has had a transformation is now a gem! Great food, great service and a unique location. A super place to meet up with friends.

This restaurant is always busy the food is always served nice and hot by pleasant staff in particular Katie who is a very pleasant waitress and always gets your order correct so when in Radlett don't go anywhere else.

Lovely Buck Rarebit to eat. Very busy but the food service was extremely quick. Coffee was lovely too.
