The best restaurants serving Other european-cuisines food in East of England

Stayed here for a last minute booking required as visiting Herefordshire University. Great location and not bad commute at all having driven from Yorkshire.. I was in one of the out rooms located on the carpark, nice and easy for being near the car and loading/unloading bags etc. Room was cosy, just needed some TLC, cobwebs and areas where have been missed. The plastic strip did stop water from going all over the floor when having had a shower! Definitely had a panic moment when thought flooded the place! But in all, had everything need for a night ot two. Cosy night and slept well, nice and peaceful too. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open the night I stayed which is a shame as food looks awesome. Breakfast however didn't disappoint! Being coeliac/gluten free i usually struggle to get a decent breakfast provided. This place definitely didn't. Best breakfast I've had in a long time and to even get butchers sausages was a pure treat! Those who are coeliac will understand!! Service was excellent, believe the guy who was there it was his last day (but thank u) and wish you well at your new job. Thank u, definitely one for a repeat visit that's for sure.

My daughter had her 16th birthday lunch here with her friends, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful! The boys, George and Ola were brilliant so thank you for looking after them :)

Best for kebabs. Hygienic, friendly and good food.

Lovely breakfast great produce ,but cold plates so the food was only just warm ,such a shame only a small error ,please warm the plates x

The Pancake House used to be the highlight meal of our stay. Sadly, no more. Whereas the pancakes used to be freshly made Dutch style with the ingredients cooked within, they are now three smaller pancakes which, I presume, are warmed up. I've always ordered the Banoffee, where the pancake is moist and the banana is cooked with the pancake and deliciously warm. Now, the pancakes are really dry and luke warm with a handful of sliced banana stuck on top, no ice cream, a few squirts of cream and some sauce on top. There are no longer different sizes options - pancake or waffle are the only options. We used to come out feeling full to the brim, but today, we came out still hungry. Honestly, I couldn't be more disappointed and let down. We complained to the waitress about the poor quality, but were just told to write a review on the feedback from at the end of our stay.

Excellent service, amazing place!

This place is a tad unusual. Superb food - high quality ingredients, interesting menu, everything perfectly cooked. It loses a star based on a lack of ambience - it is essentially and old fashioned country pub - and the staff were friendly but didn’t know the menu (so didn’t/couldn’t advise). I would recommend it as the food is great and prices are reasonable.

We were served by Hannah and Tina. We found them to be very courteous, friendly and helpful. The service from them was fabulous, and we will certainly be coming back again.

Hygiene is extremely poor. Flies all over. Food was served directly on dirty tray. I think health and safety should visit dinning area at check out area ASAP.

Shocking experience first and last time I will visit this poor excuse of a restaurant I should have stopped at McDonald’s food took ages to arrive and when it did it was cold . Staff totally disintegrated so we left and went to Arbuckles. Please avoid

This pub/restaurant is now called The View! A spectacular location - staff friendly. Sadly food was a disappointment. My wife had salmon and I had a tossed salad with grilled chicken! The salmon was over cooked to the point the tail end was carbonised!!! My wife not wanting to make a fuss plodded through the other end even though it wasn’t moist! As she left the food she Pointed the fish out to the waitress so kitchen would not make the same mistake again! Sadly I have heard from locals their experience with the food was simular! 100% take a visit and enjoy a drink and savour the view and not the food!

Went here this evening to see what it was like and was warmly greeted by the staff and seated very quickly. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the wines were really good and the Sunday roast was one of the best we’ve ever had. I’m very fussy when it comes to roast dinners and honestly, it was insane! We will certainly be back!

Very slow service and over pretentious food in tiny portions. We had to wait over an hour for food to be delivered and when it was it was the smallest amount of food you can imagine. Also the food was not up to the standard the menu thinks it is.

Lovely food, very nice decor including a beautiful tree of heaven / tree of life, plenty of space with comfy seating, great choice of background music. The restaurant service was simply stunning, probably the best I have ever seen. Also friendly. Even the choice of coffee was extensive, and I had a lovely latte. As you would expect, everything was spotless. I will be back with my partner for a night out. Overall, really lovely. How anyone can give this less than four stars I don't understand , maybe a parallel universe? Or are people confusing the restaurant with the hotel, which isn't made clear in the title. Havent been here for a while. Food used to be excellent last time we went for a roast dinner it was nearly cold having waited half an hour for it. Used to be a guy running it full of character and a comprehensive menu that has all changed. Its over the road from us but rather get in the car and find somewhere else
