Found this place on an unexpected visit and I'm already planning another visit....

Was apprehensive about coming here after some recent reviews. Thankfully I had no issues to speak of. The staff were pleasant, ordered the traditional breakfast which was good, and of course, cheap drinks👍👍

Colin, the man with the glasses, tried to be a sneaky bugger and not share his name, but fortunately I wasn't the only one who thought he was a bit of a knob. Colin, this is for you, I know you work at Spoons and dont want to be working on a bank holiday, but it doesn't mean you can be a tosser. Colin, you're nothing more than a coporate jockey who takes their job too seriously, I sincerely hope you stay where you are, because you seem to deserve the miserable experience you try to share with all your customers. You know what you've done.

My Local Wetherspoons. First time visit in over two years. Great selection of Beers. So nice to catch up with some old faces.

Like it's chain, it was a cheap place to get English food (and drinks). We went to have brunch with family and kids. The food was okay, the usual English food. The employees were nice and helpful. The atmosphere was family friendly, the kids got a toy for 4£ something (that day it was 20% off).

Been the last couple of weeks no heating, aircon on, freezing cold, bar staff wearing coats. Didn't stay went somewhere warm ! Middle of winter !

Awful experience. No heating on and cold air blowing in February on a wet day, even staff were complaining about the cold. Food was probably hot on the way out but just about warm by the time it got to the table. Apparently, heating has been broken for over a week.

I was going to order food but didn't bother because it would of been freezing within seconds, the pub was that cold 🥶 I went outside to get warm and the barman needs to learn some manners 😡. Oh not only that he left me £2.00 short in my change, how can he do that because the till tells them how much change they need to give back to the customer.

No dogs. Big downvote for that. But it's Wetherspoon. Just can't beat the prices for beer, food, and coffee.

3 magnets.. more like the 3 spastics! Ordered a breakfast and felt like a cheeky Stella. When asked for ID I passed it to the girl at the bar. She stared at it for so long I forgot myself that I had a driving license! Manager had to come over and clear it but stating that it was dodgy. God knows, I don’t think people that work in the 3 spastics can read nor wright. Hence the mood. More cheer in a graveyard.

Spent New Year’s Eve with my family. Had breakfast here in New Year’s Day which was dead cheap. Family of 5 cost us £29 which I was stunned my. Good was average food, nothing making but lined the stomach. Would highly recommend

Appalling customer service. Not a friendly environment. One staff member in particular was very rude to a group member I was with. Grabbed/snatched a drink from his hand and shunted with a very rude and aggressive tone. The member of staff was an older man with glasses and wearing a front camera attached. The interaction that this was over he will know but having gone to many other Spoons. I’ve never seen such behaviour from what looks like a senior member of staff. Other customers in the pub at the time were just as disgusted as we were with what happened. Food came out whilst my group member was away and we asked for them to put it back under the grill till he comes back. It came back out stone cold with the same member of staff still giving a cold & rude tone as to say ‘well tough I put it under the light’. Overall shocking experience and terrible staff behaviour.

Nice pub to have a good drink in nice atmosphere.

Our preference for some good wholesome food when we like. There is a set menu for a good variety of dishes along with drinks.

The British breakfast is extremely cheap for only 3 pounds. It is also tasty as well as healthy.

Disappointing that every item on the Christmas menu apart from mince pie is out of stock, also every dessert apart from kids ice cream is out of stock. It's 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon late December so I don't get it. They knew Christmas was coming!

We do not test food accounts. But beer is cold and 4 beers is also a schnitzel! Therefore 5 stars for the food too!

Came here as a career but was told after ordering that they don't offer carers discount anymore, when it is clearly advertised on the carers passport website that they offer 20% discount. The mushrooms was cold and raw, only allowed 1 butter for two toast and the bacon taste like burnt charcoal 🤮🤮it was disgusting

Only when you buy food That you have a drink with the price you don't all ways get it in the price. And have to pay on top? The bar staff must know this .

I was served very well by Ashley on the bar. She always smiles and keeps a good chat

Stopped for lunch, the place was extremely busy but we ordered on the app and the drinks and food all arrived very quickly, for the cost, it was very good value for money.

A proper queuing system needs to be put in place but girl with the short hair and fringe is amazing very fast and friendly.

Staff were friendly, food was amazing and prices fabulous value with options to suit all budgets, the unlimited tea coffee and hot chocolate an even nicer surprise. Will definitely be the new eating place for town visits birthdays etc.

Best local Spoons during the day but once the male manager starts his shift, the whole place collapses around him. Has happened more than once. The lady who runs it during the day is brilliant, cheeky and organises her staff well..but this lad, needs to move on from the bar " management" career path.

Not pretentious just good food and drinks at very reasonable prices. We'll done Wetherspoons.

The food at this place isn’t as good as other Wetherspoons I’ve visited but the lovely bartender Ashley took very good care of me & I’d love to take care of her if she sees this 😉

Order was £50+ for 4 people. Steak was sent back twice. Then forgot the sauce. Despite ordering wasn't put on order. Had to reorder by the time it came out everyone else had finished the steak was stone cold. Person I spoke to said there nothing they can do about it. Rude. The person who took our order apparently was new and it was busy. But there was loads of tables even got a booth so no not busy at all. Rest of the food wasn't great. All I can say is just about edible. Save your money Avoid.

Quick service, food typical Wetherspoons, good value for money, a bit musty smelling when you first enter, we only visit for breakfast, so cannot review evenings.

Best Wetherspoons we’ve visited for customer service! Fast polite service and conscientious staff making sure we had all we needed and the tables cleared swiftly too, we had a lovely family meal and will be back again 🫶🏻

Nothing about this place is endearing besides the prices. Locals are obnoxious and strange. Toilets are filthy and the locks on the doors aren’t right. Bar queuing system doesn’t work, so you can stand there, even when not busy, for 5 minutes. It’s really not a pleasant experience

Compared to our local Spoon's, the food here was so much better, the poached eggs were runny and hot, the service great and the whole place was exceptionally clean.

It's a typical weatherspoons, basic food. Nicely done, good range of drinks at reasonable prices. Nice enough for a lunch or evening out.

Pretty poor really.......I live locally and unusually I have taken meals at this wetherspoons.......bland, small portions is how to describe it. The bar staff show little or no I test in the clientele. The real ales are pretty limited but the food is particularly bad. Unfriendly atmosphere, I didn't enjoy my experience. I don't understand why the Letchworth spoons is not good. The Stevenage and the Royston spoons seem to be much better with much more choice of ales and food that doesn't look like it's been made from an airfix kit. Pretty poor Tim. Please try and retrieve this place

Ridiculous. Long haired guy behind the bar (should have his hair tied back as per food safety regulations) serving regulars before people waiting longer. Took nearly 10-12 minutes to change a barrell because the person they asked 'forgot' and they had to be radio'd again. Overall took nearly 25 minutes from walking in, to getting a single pint ( no exaggeration. Walked in a 3.02pm and sat woth my pint at 3.27pm. ) Having worked for spoons before, I'm disgusted to actually admit to working for this chain based on this abysmal experience.

Love this Wetherspoons. Friendly atmosphere, staff are happy and smiling. You can sit outside.

Only went in for a coffee. Cheapest place in town and with a pleasant outside area to sit.

Waited at the bar for around five minutes with many others just to then be told they are only taking orders via there app. As I don't have this app and only intended to stay for one quick drink my visit was to say the least very disappointing

Typical 'spoons set in an old large store. Nice layout and usual menu with good value food and really good value drinks. Excellent for a lunch time as service is usually good.

Dirty table and dirty toilets. Food was quite good though.

I will start by saying I'm not a fan of the weatherspoon franchise, which is why I have decided to rate low. Food is cheap, which is great for the kids, who enjoy the pizzas and chips. I found the food myself to be microwave based and very little nutrition value. Service is very quick as you now order at your table giving you little interaction with the staff. Tables are crammed in, so you feel short for space, however did not find it to be too noisy.

Really impressed as the beer seems to be consistently well kept and a good range to choose from. Plus it's better value than our local spoons. The fish and chips we had on the last two visits were almost identical in portion size and quality. Staff friendly and attentive. Well done Tim Martin and the team in Letchworth.

Food was good, very busy at lunchtime, seems to be very popular Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Excellent breakfast, really quality food, served hot.

Inexpensive Beer Friendly Staff

You know what you're getting when it comes to the food and drink, it's the same in every Spoons. Cleanliness, atmosphere and service is what separates a good Spoons from a bad Spoons and the Three Magnets gets 5 for service, 4 for atmosphere and 5 for cleanliness. A lovely little Whetherspoons in a lovely little town.

A rather average Spoons, in comparison with others around. Last night it was minus five outside and it didn't feel much warmer inside. Some heating would have been nice, decided to leave and warm up elsewhere

I like to visit weatherspoon branches as I know what they have and their prices. This one in particular is in the town centre and really big. The same system to order online and not long to be served. This time food arrived first and we had to collect the drinks as nobody served and we could see the tray on the counter waiting ...apart of that as anecdotal part, the place was clean and comfortable.

Second visit in recent times specifically for fish and chips on a Friday. Again, no fish. Also no small gammon steak, so three out of four meals requested, not available, and not particularly busy. Also only one of the coffee machines not working, and this one spewing out a sort of grey yucky hot chocolate. To cap it all, a large picture on the wall with totally broken smashed glass, as if this is acceptable . Seems the management of this place don’t really care.

Very young girl "working" there was so rude and miserable. She should not be in any form of customer service.

Cheap Freindly staff Freindly locals... There is no line so just qué anywhere at the bar , otherwise issues can arise

Had a fun evening with friends. Cheap drinks so all was good.

I visited on Saturday morning to have breakfast, it was fairly busy so expected a slightly longer wait than usual. What I didn't expect was to wait over half an hour for cold inedible food. When a complaint was made to a staff member he simply offered to "take it back to the kitchen and warm ut up" for me I said that that wasn't acceptable and asked for a fresh breakfast to which I had to wait ages for a manager to come over who explained that if I did that I would have to wait another 30 lins as they were too busy. In the end I had no choice but to accept a refund and leave. How hard is it to produce a plate of food that is more than slightly warm? Stone cold baked beans, barely warm hash browns and sausages that were tepid at best. Add to that eggs that were cooked to a consistency of hard rubber I eat at wetherspoons a lot and luckily this is my first very bad experience,let's hope it was a one off

absolutely ridiculous , closed the pub for staff training ..obviously they need to be trained to open the place , avoid at all costs

By the time I got round to trying this Wetherspoons I was already feeling sorry for the residents of Britains first every Garden City, due to the very limited decent drinking opportunities in the town centre. And by the time I left I was virtually in despair for them. This is a very poor ‘spoons. Firstly it’s a very boring furniture store conversion with virtually no architectural features of any merit, and although the walls have some very interesting black and white historical photos of the development of the Garden City, it’s not enough to lift the decore above snooze level. Secondly, despite having a decent bank of eight real ale hand pumps, the available ale options for my visit were disappointing indeed. The pub chains permanent boring brown bitters dominated taking up five of them with Abbott and Ruddles doubled up alongside the Doombar and with one unused this left two alternatives in the shape of Bath Ales Gem and Brightside Brewing Grafters Honest bitter. I went for the Gem on the grounds that it was the only one that wasn’t a brown bitter and it really wasn’t good and I should really have returned it. However, granted that my visit was at a not particularly busy early afternoon time, there was only one person actually serving behind the bar and they had quite a tenuous grip on who was next of the people waiting to be served, and I just couldn’t be bothered to try.

Very disappointed and upset about the way I was treated at the magnets I'm always respectful and polite the rudeness by two of the barmaids borders on discresmation I have to say the rest of the staff are welcoming and courtesies

Avoiding after today - miserable staff shouting they had no ketchup while walking away from customers. Drinks watered down. Burgers, we had three types, were dry. Scampi and the chips about the only good thing. Pretty sure nearby shops sell ketchup.

A bit of a wait for food and drinks, not a problem as wasn’t in a rush. Food arrived first and I asked if the drinks were on the way, I was told I’m doing food now so you’ll have to wait. 5 mins later a different waitress came over with drinks and said sorry for the wait we lost the slip, I’m fine with this as there was an apology and a reason. My fiancé doesn’t keep quite about these things and when the table was being cleared spoke up and said you upset my partner and made him a little grumpy to which the waitress said thank you for the apology for your partner implying I was in the wrong for asking for our drinks!! Also she was very short and rude to other customers on the table near us. Not a great experience and think I’ll be visiting other pubs for my breakfast in the future.

Hi the beer is a good price so is the Food but when you asked for a rare steak and you get a well done chunk of gristle and you complain and you’re told you’ve eaten it bye ignorant little git when half of it is still on your plate and all He gives you 20% off your next round which works out about 60p what a joke

Diabolical service on a Friday night. Everybody served apart from us, and all I wanted was a diet coke

The breakfast was a bit of a state with totally raw tomatoes when meant to be cooked and no veggie sausages. That said, I ate it all so cant have been that bad.

Absolutely shocking service, bar tender argued over drinks order, nachos arrived and would t feed it to a dog!

An ok spoons. However when my food came before my drink and I asked the girl where my drink was. She quickly told me how that wasn't her issue she only did food. So I got up to the bar to find my drink ready next to the 2 staff chatting away beside it. It takes 1 minute to pop by the bar and let them know a table is waiting for drinks.

Bit rough around the edges but has it’s place and good value. Service reasonably quick and outside seating by the road is nice too

The Ale selection wasn't very good They have one or two good one's per month but they go very quickly which you would think would alert the person who is ordering the beer to have a better understanding of what his /her customers wanted , I have asked a few times about this but to know avail

Always happy to visit the place.

We had baked potatoes with roast vegetables and extra cheese. Very delicious, as can be seen by our empty plates. The lady we were served by (possibly the landlady) was very friendly and other staff were also. The locals drinking there seemed very happy and it’s obviously a good place for people to meet up and chat for hours over pintage.

Been a 'local' for a few months now, bought a round for 'us' after a busy week working but sadly refused to serve me after ONE pint. Highly embarrassing. Will not be going back steer well clear. poor.

Typical Wetherspoons. Good cheap beer and decent cheap breakfast (not at the same visit!). No new American breakfst today as thy had no pancakes. Tragic!!

Really dirty (half a pizza mashed into the carpet under the table) and they were out of a lot of the dishes. Short staffed, slow service, clumpy bad food. I know it's a spoons, but still.....

The staff were rude when taking the orders and not advising what was in or out of stock. Our food arrived with the steak well done instead of medium well, there were no kids options in for our son and the man who dealt with the issues we raised was incredibly rude and unhelpful.
