Lovely place great atmosphere good wholesome food reasonably priced, on entry we was greeted by Charlotte very friendly welcome as always, we were served by Nina as always she was very kind and made us feel very happy with her service, all in all l would highly recommend this place.

The Black Horse is one of our favourite local restaurants, always a friendly welcome and the food never disappoints. Sofia was our waitress for the evening, she is super efficient and helpful and always has a smile on her face.

Food was really good. Service by Lexi was amazing, very efficient, polite and friendly! Thank you! Would definitely come back again :)

Busy rest it was Sunday so expect that , waited for table , couple arrived after got seated before got their order taken before us aswell , which was confusing got to say , the roast was lovely & better size portions than last couple of visits so that was good news

Recently had a birthday Sunday lunch here and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, checking everything was ok, clearing the table etc even when the restaurant became busy. On top of the great service the food was fantastic.

Well… where I start. I can't say enough wonderful things about our experience at The Black Horse Pub! From the moment we walked in, we felt the cozy, welcoming atmosphere that this place is known for. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Jackie. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food and drinks were top-notch, but it was Jackie’s warm hospitality that truly made our afternoon special. We’ll definitely be back—thanks, Jackie, for making our day so memorable! A warm welcome from all the staff followed by excellent service from Jackie. Charlotte stopped by our table to check that we were fine. The food was good but maybe the wine prices would be more attractive if they were trimmed.

Visited the Black Horse for dinner and we had good food and good service throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend.

I prefer to write positive good reviews rather than negative ones. This one is no different Everyone has off days and that’s why the overall range is 3/5. More importantly, it was Jackie who made sure the score wasn’t less. Great service and attention - keen to resolves matters outside of her control and did so without having to be asked. If things don’t go to plan (and let’s face it there are days when they don’t whatever you do) then you want someone like Jackie looking after you. Jackie definitely scores 10/10

The Black Horse is near where I live so handy for lunch, although rather pricey for standard pub grub. It would be nicer if they did sandwiches and there is not much choice for vegetarians (and no, I don’t want to eat ‘vegan’ cheese!) They currently have only one beer that isn’t lager, Doombar, but they are about to start selling Ghostship, which will be an improvement. We were there on Saturday lunchtime, it wasn’t very busy. Our waitress, Nina, was friendly, polite and efficient.

Always very happy with the food and service. We keep coming with or without or dog and always get the same warm welcome! Today was the busiest we've seen but we still felt like "special guests!". Sofia our waitress today was great! (Everyone is!) Can only recommend.

This little pub set just outside of brentwood in Pilgrims Hatch is a lovely little pub. You can bring your dogs with you as they have a few dog friendly tables in the bar area. There is a guy (Paul, I think) there with some bright and colourful shirts who is very friendly and always helpful. The food is superb and always looks great aswell as tasting great. Service there is just phenomenal. I always go there when in the area and would recommend it to all!

Another fantastic Sunday lunch at the Black Horse. We arrived early to a very warm welcome and were provided drinks while we waited for our table to be ready. We were served by the lovely Charlotte who was very attentive and accommodating during a busy Sunday rush. Both Charlotte and assistant manager Emily provided us with first class service and made us feel very welcome throughout our meal. The food was delicious - fantastic Sunday lunch. We visited the Black Horse again last night, as always the food was excellent. Our waitress for the evening was the lovely Jackie, she is so very efficient and welcoming. She checks back with us several times to make sure everything is ok and asks would we like more drinks.

Went for Sunday lunch with friends and every table was full, however this didn't affect service or food. Excellent roasts, fish n chips, sides and desserts. Our service by Sofia was superb. Would highly recommend and will be back. Thank you.

Had the most amazing 3 course meal with incredible service. All dishes were delicious, so much so that I usually do not stay for dessert but this time we couldn’t resist and so glad we did! It was a lovely atmosphere - on valentines night too. We normally avoid going out in this date. But everyone was cheerful and seemed happy to there. The food was the best we had there yet. Rib Eye Steak and Sea bass. We understand this was down to the chefs Ralton & Nathan - very impressive & cooked to perfection. Thank you for a super evening.

Friendly staff, lovely building, good drinks selection, and then there's the food... The Black Horse consistently knocks it out of the park here. We had the pork belly, which was succulent and delicious. The Mac and Cheese was also damn good. Great desserts too. Highly recommend the Apple and Blackcurrent crumble. One of the best pub/restaurants I have been to!
