Lot 75 in Brentwood

Went here this evening to see what it was like and was warmly greeted by the staff and seated very quickly. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the wines were really good and the Sunday roast was one of the best we’ve ever had. I’m very fussy when it comes to roast dinners and honestly, it was insane! We will certainly be back!

Popped in for a beer as all trains were cancelled , the waitress saved the day and served me a nice cold beer , I paid straight away as I was waiting to get picked up . Thanx for the hospitality , I will return next time with my family and try the food .

The service and management in this place is absolutely disgraceful. The hygiene is terrible and the food is so basic. This place used to be lovely but has now become a place I completely avoid. Would rather go to a pub than here! Someone I know used to work here a while back and said similarly how horrible and terrible it is. Stay clear of this place! The aesthetic draws you in but once you’re there you will wish you never went in.

Michael is so cool 😎 and so happy to meet him as such a beautiful feeling each and every time I meet one of my favourite hospitality team ever on this 🌏! Working myself in hospitality industry for least 20 years I can see when a colleague in this field is made to do this and yeeeeeeeeeees James is a total angel 😇 great asset to this marvellous venue( one of my favourite places ever). Michael is so so clever and we had such a pleasant and awsome chat! I feel so happy I met him and he was extremely professional and delighted to be served on spot and he offered to bring one of my favourite drinks (Guinness) straight to my table. Plus he add me as I kindly asked bit of Blackcurrant on top and it was such a pleasure to feel as a Queen 👑 and they are all angels as much gratitude to the owners and the hard working souls as I met James and he is as well a Rock star and fantastic ambassador of kindness same as Michael, they made me feel as 🏡 home. And had a lovely surprise to meet my dear lovely favourite Alina. Alina she is working as well here in the restaurant and met her before as she is wow! Such a delight to meet her again passing near my table as I was in the bar area. She mademy evening as well as most of all we can chat in our native language (Romanian ). She is as well as me Romanian and what a brave sister OMG. WHAT A LOVELY ENERGY! Alina is very very Cool 😎 she knows what she isdoing and hugged me and she said she missed me blessssss as I missed her too. One of the best moments definitely. I will raise the house and the hard working legends always! All the team even has my gratitude and sorry there are s many names to mention but they know who they are! And for me they are all so awesome amazing magnetic magic and cool 😎 super professional hard working LEGENDS and gratefull to have them in my life! Meet soon my favourite team and may you have a fabulous magnetic summer as you are! And deserve all the gratitude and respect for treating me as a Queen 👑 each and every single time! Another great girlie lunch at Lot. Always buzzy, yummy food offerings and fabulous bar. The smoked salmon bagel is delicious. Perfect smoked salmon - just the right amount, warm bagel, topped off with a slathering of cream cheese. All washed down with a bottle of Veuve. My friend enjoyed Pete’s homemade chicken soup, too. Look forward to our next outing

We went for a fun catch up over lunch . One of the older waitresses said there was no table ... on the way out another waitress asked us if we wanted a table and seated us with ease . The food was not as good as it used to be and staff not as friendly . The younger staff are polite but the older ones are very hit and miss which does affect the enjoyment . This used to be our venue of choice but now apart from the location it has lost its appeal . The smaller restaurants are more personable and professional we will avoid this one and hope it gets back on track .

On out visit it was cold and looked like rain due to having our dog with us we had to sit outside we asked if the umbrella could be put up they said yes then come.back and said too windy (not even windy) on passing a few days back over Xmas it was Gail forced winds but umbrella were up need to improve on customer service and not making excuses because they can't be bothered

Head staff were very rude and service terrible .. the main food took forever , sides didn’t come with the main dishes when they did finally arrive . Only one desert came we reminded them two times we was still waiting then the head waiter rudely told us we had to go asap because the table was needed . He still insisted while we politely explained the food had taken forever and we was still waiting on a desert . We ended up rushing and even had our drinks cancelled no finding us somewhere else to finish deserts and drinks absolutely appalling . On a plus the young girl serving was embarrassed and couldn’t understand the behaviour of her superiors , it’s a shame she wasn’t in charge . The only good thing about this place is convenience but there are plenty of better options as it certainly wasn’t a cheap night maybe we should have kept complaining instead of being patient . Avoid .

Went for lunch at the end of November, 9 of us in total, from across Essex, so Shenfield was really convenient to get to by train. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after by the team - drinks in the bar, brought to travel, properly shown through and seated etc Great selection on the menu, something for everyone, and when it turned up - which didn’t take long - it was all really good. Great drinks selection - the Rioja was particularly enjoyable. All in all, a great place for a buzzy informal lunch with friends or family.

Taken over 20 min to even get a waiter to attend. If it wasn’t a Shenfield staple you’d not bother. Spent thousand of £ here over the years. Service is absolutely shocking. Bring back Martino!!! No wonder all the little places around are busy. Will update when I get my food. May be 2024!

I went here with my friend fur lunch. The waitress with the strawberry painted nails (so sorry forgot name) made the whole experience amazing. We weren’t rushed, we were made to feel very welcome. We felt extremely well looked after the whole time we were there. The food and drink was excellent and we would recommend to our friends.

My friend & I booked a table here for dinner as we had been here previously and loved it. When we arrived we asked if we could sit outside however the waitress said this is fine but would require the table back for half 7 (we arrived just gone 6) and that if we sat inside there would be no rush for giving the table back. We sat inside and most of the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food & drinks were great aswell. However when it got to about 10 past 8 we were told that our time had run out on the table and we had to leave now and that when you book it says you have 2 hours - despite a dessert menu being offered to us 10 mins before this. There was no heads up or prior warning given, the waiter then came over with the bill before we could even finish our drinks asking how we’d like to pay before we’d even discussed it. Once the bill had been paid and taken we were finishing our drink when the waiter came over for the third time and said you need to leave now and give us the table back and stood by the table waiting for us to stand up and go. Having been told there would be no rush to give the table back and not given any sort of 15 min warning so we could Atleast finish the drinks and request the bill ourselves the way this was handled completely ruined the nice food and drinks we’d had and rather than going to the bar we chose to go elsewhere because we didn’t feel welcome. Quite honestly it felt like we’d done something wrong and were being ushered out of the building. Really disappointing end to what was a nice meal out.

I booked for Sunday brunch with 5 friends. The waiting staff were lovely - attentive but not intrusive, and the food was excellent. It arrived quickly and was piping hot. We all had something different and everyone cleared their plate… we will be making regular visits! Great job The Lot Bar and Restaurant! Thank you 6 brunches, 1 bottle Prosecco, 2 Buck’s Fizz, 4 coffees, 2 teas - £20 per person - excellent value.

Bar person had attitude straight away on asking about the parking outside. Waited about 10 mins for drinks even though it wasn’t busy. Food came within 2 mins of order so knew it was microwaved straight away. Although I ordered a side of chips and they were cold. King prawn linguine and a lasagne were both terrible. Linguine hardly touched but no one asked if the food was ok. Would not vibist again!

Not been here for a while but nothings changed the food was excellent better than ever, we had the best starters and main courses. The chefs at the Lot Shenfield would make any top London restaurant proud. Will be returning very soon. Have eaten several times in The Lot mostly daytime occasionally evenings and have always enjoyed the food and the service and the vibe the place has ,but I was impressed this Friday when at a 11am the restaurant fell silent as a mark of respect instigated in no small part by the staff and adhered to by all in the restaurant as someone who served in conflict it was genuinely moving. Thank you .

I have had a meal in lot which was a very good meal. However our table was booked for 06,30 and we were less than 10 minutes late which was not a problem. Once we had our meal we were asked if we wanted dessert which we declined. At that point they might as well just handed us our coats. We were given the bill without being asked if we wanted anything else as they were already had cleared the tables ready for breakfast tomorrow morning. Quite literally we had had our meal ordered and eaten in less than 2 hours. (So much for an evening out). On the basis that this is a Sunday evening on the last bank holiday of the year and one would think they would want your money, they couldn't get rid of us quick enough.

Had a lovely lunch at the Lot, food was lovely and the service was great, especially Freya. She was so attentive and made us feel very welcome, we couldn’t help but strike up a conversation with her as she was so lovely and engaging. I recommend the Lot just for the service alone, most of all from Freya!! X

An unplanned stop between appointments a colleague was a lovely experience. We’d had an early start so decided to eat on our way to our next visit. I had the smashed avocado but opted for scrambled eggs instead of poached (I’m fussy!) it was perfect....

I arrived at 11.50 am and tried to order lunch. However, they wasn’t serving lunch, only breakfast. The menu stated that lunch is served from 12. So, at 8 minutes past 12, I tried to order lunch. Still refused to even take a lunch order. What awful service. Obviously the menu meant 12 at nighttime to serve lunch! Will never go back to the awful establishment.

This establishment is sectioned off into bar and restaurant areas. The bar, which also serves snack type food, can get very busy. The restaurant is nicer for a proper meal. Good menu and wine choice though rather expensive. Portions are large. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Menu looked appealing but was let down by the actual food. Opted for the prawn, salmon and avocado salad. Generous size serving but salmon sadly was over cooked and very dry. Staff were not particularly welcoming or attentive. Very small tables organised too close together so privacy an issue.

I have just came back from my third visit to The Lot Bar & Restaurant in Shenfield. The previous two times I've been there with my partner for brunch - I ordered the smashed avocado with poached eggs both times, and he had the big english breakfast. The food was divine and a great start to our day, along with great coffees/lattes to wash down the food (they have an extensive choice of dairy-free milks:- coconut, soya & almond).

Good value for money, at least average service, and a great (albeit small) venue. Some well mixed drinks, but some spotty dishes/ glassware; otherwise very clean and professional environment and some friendly/ accommodating staff members.

Pleasant Sunday lunch - and really super Yorkshire Puddings! The yorkshires tasted homemade and were huge.

Decided to go here with friends after work as soon as we walked in we was greeted by a lovely waiter and the firm behind the bar was very very nice and polite and very happy, we ordered our starters which was delicious and the main course was outstanding I’ve eaten in the best restraunts but this one takes some beating I haven’t got one horrible thing to say about this place everything is tip top wonder why it’s so busy I can’t wait to go there again

Had lunch yesterday with friends.

Rocked up tonight as sans kids. We've been here many times but feel compelled to leave a review. Firstly, were not regulars in the context of some but pleasantly surprised to have received the warm welcome we did. The restaurant was surprisingly busy too but that's testament to them serving their market. Food was fab, service was great but then it always is. I've been here for a coffee after a bike ride on a Sunday, great. I've been here (when perhaps I should've left a couple of hours before) on a Friday night, fabulous. It's not 'chavvy' and it's not loud, it's a great local (not a chain) business giving local people what they generally want for 15 hours every day. I love it.

I can understand the staff not really wanting to be there, especially on a Sunday but it would be nicer if they could hide it a bit better

Stopped here for a drink as we only live around the corner. Nice patio.... drinks were extortionate and it was quite chavvy and loud... lots of people were literally screaming. Then a fight broke out that was fairly serious and the clientele were actually egging it on before the drunk guy drove home. Can’t help but think this might happen regularly due to the people that frequent it. Not for me.

My husband and I ate at The Lot last night with four good friends. The food was good and the staff lovely but........there were far to few staff for a full and bustling restaurant. They were completely rushed off their feet. We had to wait to place our food order and then wait an hour between our starters being cleared and the arrival of our main courses. When I commented on this I was told that they only had a small kitchen......yes.....seriously! It was also incredibly noisy; for most of the evening it was only possible to have a shouted conversation with the person sitting right next to me. I have had lunch and breakfast many times here but it was the first, and it will be the last, time we eat at The Lot on a Saturday night.

This was meant to be the beginning of our evening in Shenfield as I was invited to the town to catch up with friends I hadn't seen for 3 years. The plan was to dine later that evening at the Lot following the drinks we had ordered.

We've eaten at Lot for breakfast on a few other occasions and have always found the service friendly and welcoming, albeit a little on the slower side. However, today we actually waited close to an hour, with nothing arriving at the table bar the two cappuccinos we ordered. When the food finally arrived it was a little disappointing, our daughter's meal warm rather than hot. I wanted to ask for it to be heated, but by this time she was so hungry, she didn't want to part with the plate.

Great for breakfast and lunch lots of healthy options available. Busy bar in the evening so it can be a bit noisy in the resteraunt side.

Brilliant place to eat in Shenfield The service is excellent speedy polite happy chaps Pasta amazing well done chefs Atmosphere great although a little noisy. The place is spotless and prices reasonable. Well worth a visit.

We've been regular customers since it first opened but there's always been a problem with noise in the eveningp especially at weekends.....however the food is good, a varied menu with a Specials Board, and always very well presented. Service is excellent. Recently the decibel level has increased as people tend to shout to make themselves heard so all in all not an atmosphere for a casual dinner chatting with friends. Perhaps we need to return to midweek visits. Such a shame as there are few restaurants of this calibre locally.

Traders back for a sturdy beer after a tough session in Canary Wharf or the City, TOWIE cast pop-ins, civilised pre-dinner drinks, girls evening out on the bubbles... All can be witnessed and very much enjoyed at the "Lot" however for me the joy exists somewhere quite different on the clock face.

Excellent food, drinks and service. We were made to feel very welcome - food was served quickly and with great enthusiasm. Generous portions and excellent choice. This is such a lovely place - can't recommend it enough.

I've been drinking in this wine bar every week from the first week it opened many years ago and wouldn't think of anywhere else to have a few birthday drinks with my friends. Although it was a Monday evening, the atmosphere was buzzy and friendly and Theo behind the bar was brilliant (as always is Rui who pops in from the restaurant next door). As a local place for over 25's (as I am) to enjoy a few drinks in the evening with friends, where you know you're going to have a good time and be looked after by attentive and professional staff, I couldn't be happier.

We went there for Sunday lunch with my Dad and His partner. We all had the lamb roast, which was delicious. The portions were quite big with plenty of vegetables. For dessert they opted for the cherry crumble , which they also enjoyed. THe staff were very attentive, even though it was very busy.

The staff are relatively friendly and relaxed, the atmosphere is nice. The food is definitely over priced and not worth the money, but it is quite nice.

Recently visited Lot for the first time and was pleasantly surprised the meal was lovely the staff really friendly and great wine too!

Cute, modern, small restaurant with bar separate to restaurant. We went for a friends birthday (just 3 of us) on a wednesday evening. The staff were friendly. The place was quite busy, took a very long time to order drinks. I ordered the seafood salad, which i asked for separate sauce, which came with the sauce all over it and ruined it for me as there was so much. The rest of the food looked good though. Cocktails were good. Personally for me it was just average, but was good overall.

Having visited last month for a light lunch we decided to return early enough in the day to try out their breakfast/brunch. The service is excellent - we had two small children with us and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all brilliant with the children; bringing smaller cutlery and chatting to them. I enjoyed the best poached eggs ever and struggled to finish my breakfast as the servings are very generous. There is a good menu choice & soya coffee an option, which pleased my daughter. I'd return here for breakfast whenever possible if I was in the area. So having tried breakfast & lunch I just need to return for an evening visit, when I hear the bar is very lively.

We hadn't booked on this particular evening and popped in we were found a table and although we had to wait a while for the chicken supreme it was well worth the wait! The staff are always excellent - we had a lovely meal - thank you again!

We hired the venue for Sunday evening drinks and canapés to celebrate my father-in-law's 80th birthday in July. The staff were attentive and faultless in keeping drinks served to all the guests, the canapés were delicious and brought out at just the right intervals. Compliments to the chef !! All the guests commented on how lovely the evening was and how well looked after they felt.

We have family who use this place quite frequently and we have recently visited with grandchildren.Very friendly environment welcome to everyone.I had the red snapper as a starter it was amazing so tasty if you have this you will not want a big main dish. Ice cream on call for the children when they have eaten their meal going to the area and selecting the special treat of their choice.Outside dining when weather is good, comfortable and relaxed would highly recommend this place staff very attentive.

A great Sunday roast and then apple and cherry crumble. Tasty and plenty of it. As well as the nice food the service (as always when we visit) was very friendly.

This is a local venue, although I've never used it as always thought looked too pricey . Met up with two friends one suggested venue as local to all. Decor is modern , clean, inviting, ( absolutely stunning floral arrangement!!) shown to a table ( we hadn't booked) the lady who served us was helpful, polite and talked is through the menu, took our drinks order and left us to chat. When food arrived we were all very pleased with our choices . I had salad with bacon, sweet potatoes, pine nuts and spinach , wonderful tasting and plentiful. Again we weren't bothered so we had a lovely long catch up, when we asked for the bill pleasantly surprised at the cost, very reasonable for good quality food. I would definitely recommend to others and will definitely be back.

We are totally totally addicted to lot for breakfast. Back when we were childless and first moved to shenfield we used to come to lot for dinner at least once a week. It was 5 star back in those days with quim (now of manuels) running the place. But it declined with food quality when he left. But we have re discovered it with the breakfast. Absolutely top top notch. And v child friendly. We are looking forward to our re trying in the evening (and good to see some of the old staff remain).

Sat outside for sunday breakfast/brunch with some friends. He is known at this restaurant/bar, so the service we had was excellent. Very busy with a great buzz, the food was cooked well and plentiful. Great coffee and juices,they even bought a cut up cooked sausage for their little dog, how about that for good service!All in all, a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours in the busy high street that is Shenfield.

Visited Lot 75 on a Thursday evening as a early Mother's Day dinner with the in-laws. Restaurant was very busy and great atmosphere. Great selection of food on the menu, the steak was cooked lovely. Very good service but this may be because my brother-in-law is a regular and knew the staff well. Still impressed with the service and would recommend

I have been coming to the restaurant for many years and the food is always good. We turned up on time for our table and our order was taken quite quickly. We then waited over half an hour for our starter to turn up and our main course turned up over an hour after this time. As I said, the food is good but we have had this problem so many times before and I know I could go somewhere else and not come to this restaurant but all the management needs to do is not cram so many people into the restaurant and give the staff in the tiny kitchen a chance to keep up with the high demand put on them. The waiters were of course extremely busy and I did feel sorry for them as its not their fault and I could see several people close by to us who were getting very cross at the long wait also. Every time I go I hope that the service will improve. Its not too bad during the day but on a Saturday night the wait time is terrible, but if you're happy to wait a couple of hours before getting your dinner then you won't have a problem.

I come here quite often and I have to say despite the occasion it never disappoints! From a Sunday meal with family to a Thursday evening for after work drinks it really is an all rounder! Food is always on point...the many times I've been here the food has always been exceptional! The staff are friendly, accommodating and adds to whole experience! For anyone who is looking for a great night out, quality food and an atmosphere to match this is certainly the place to be!

Nine of us for a family Sunday lunch. Most of our party had the Roast Lamb and everybody enjoyed, but I had the prawn linguini and it was truly the best pasta dish I have ever had in my life. The flavours were intense and the background sauce was creamy and perfect, king prawns soft and plump.Yum, yum.... will be back as soon as possible.Kids were also catered for and they enjoyed their hand made pizzas. Seldom have I seen the whole family so content.

2 of us went in on a Saturday evening for a meal and a chat. The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the waiters was lovely. We were sat at a table in the centre of the room and the air conditioning unit which was right on us was blowing out such hot air I was praying for people to leave so that some fresh air came in. I asked the waiter if he could turn it down and he said he would try but I don't know if he did, it didn't get any more bearable. The restaurant is quite small and with so many people packed in there the noise was so loud it was difficult to talk to my friend. I would go back again but not on a Saturday evening.

What's not to like?- It's local- Food is good, always delicious and well presented- Staff are attentive and friendly- Drinks are good value and wine list is varied.Will definitely be back.

I live in the area. Sometimes for a treat I go there for my study breaks. Food always good and the specials are always intresting choises of food from all over the world. I recommend it highly. Clean, awesome service and good food! When I bring my kids its great. They have an icecream area and the kids get to choose freely.

We come here for Sunday lunch and are never disappointed! The food is fresh and delicious and always more than plenty. The staff are accommodating and very friendly. One waiter in particular called Chin goes above and beyond!He's always happy and nothing is too much trouble. We've had a lot of Sunday roasts and this place is by far the best in the area !

Go here often as never disappoints. Good menu, choice of specials daily. Variety of Cocktails and wine. Lovely atmosphere.

Usually pop in here for the quick glass of prosecco but since tasting their pornstar martini we are hookedHelpful staff nice bar/restaurant

A really cool bar just a short walk from Sheffield station. Really buzzy and busy, even at 16.30 tonight. Good atmosphere, nice staff and free popcorn. Will definitely go again.

Never been to this place before but it always looks busy when we drive by!Just had drinks in the bar inly part of the three buildings and sat outside under the warm lamps! Staff really quick and made us feel v welcome! Great place and we only went tonight (a Wednesday) and it was packed!Enjoy!

I visited this Lot a few weeks ago with my friends and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great and the food and drinks were even better. I enjoyed the friendly, young and vibrant feel and would recommend to anyone for a place to catch up with friends. The outdoor area is perfect for a sunny day watching the world go by and the inside is modern with tv screens for further entertainment. All round perfect location and bite to eat, definitely would like to try this venue on a weekend evening out.

I love coming here with friends and family. Such a nice vibe for a nice lunch catch up. I always order the sweet potato fries as they are the best I've ever tasted. The Cajun chicken is great and so is the new BBQ pulled pork wrap that is currently on. Staff are quick and friendly and always happy to help. Love this place.

My father and I visited Lot for lunch I a sunny day. We booked via the website but the restaurant didn't seem to have the booking. Luckily they had a table outside anyway My dad had the prawn and avocado salad I had the prawn wrap with sweet potato fries. Both were delicious. It was busy in the restaurant and service was a little slow but overall this did not detract from our enjoyment.
